My wife and I absolutely love this place. Great food at a great price! Friendly staff did I mention the food is awesome? We go every Saturday for bacon and egg breakfast plates and will continue to come every Saturday. Glad it's close to home also but I would drive across town for breakfast plate! Tacos and cheese steak is fantastic as well.

The best for your money tacos in town! I swear they put like 6 eggs in one taco, I can't even finish one. House made salsa that's always fantastic. The Philly cheese steak sandwich is another favorite. I've never once been disappointed with the food here. Dine in is crowded at prime eating times especially on the weekend. Parking can also be crowded, but they now have an extra lot across the street, 7/11 Will tow you if you park there to beware. Most of the staff are primarily Spanish speaking, but I've never had an issue placing an order. Pay attention for your order number they just call then out. A MUST try if you haven't been here yet!

Kens tacos is honestly the best place in Austin to get decent priced fresh breakfast tacos. Trust me, one tacos will fill you up! My family has been enjoying kens for years now and they never disappoint. No matter how busy they get food out in a fast & organized manner. No complaints over here.

The tacos are about 4 bucks apiece but WORTH IT. I can't recommend anything else though. I tried the chorizo and egg breakfast plate and it was...underwhelming. The steak tacos are worth their weight in gold though.

Had a Barbacoa and Potatoe-egg taco. The Barbacoa is always delicious there but they don't put as much meat in the taco like they do for all other tacos. All other tacos are really full in the tortillas but the Barbacoa I'd only like half way full. Other then that food is great

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years!! Ken’s soccer is by far the best breakfast burrito in Austin ever since I was a little kid coming here when the tradition on the weekends. I’ve heard great things about the lunch when you as well however I’ve never been here for lunch only breakfast.

Probably the city's finest tacos. I've been going to Ken's for decades and the quality has never wavered. I have a vague memory of them opening on Sunday morning to sell menudo to the hangover crowd, but that was long ago when the Utotem sign was still up. They close all day on Sunday now. Our loss. Oh yes, you should know that Ken's is also a relic "ice house"configuration from 20th century Austin/San Antonio. It's intended to be a walk-up for take-out, but they have a few tables for customers with bad knees. P.S. their semisecret catfish is quite good for the price!

The bang for your buck here is fantastic. A limited menu provides for cheaper prices and higher quality ingredients. Don't let the look of the place fool you. This is authentic Mexican tacos and select eats. Highly recommend a try! I usually go for a crispy taco or two and a specialty taco. I wanna try a plate next!

I have been coming to Ken's Tacos for a very long time. Like, since high school. In that time that that I have gone…at least 10 times a year for my own eating and maybe 20 times each year for the office…the food has been great. Always prepared fresh. Always done with the right ingredients. Always done with a bit of happiness. The ladys know me there from my work uniform (they probably know lots of “regular work people”). I have even taken several co-workers that have never heard of Ken’s Tacos. Most have loved the food. A few have hated it for various reasons. All agree that the food quality is consistent. Most state that they love the quality and taste of the food. I agree with many others that have visited Ken’s. Their building hasn’t really changed much since I started going there (14+ years now). The parking lot itself in front of the building has been repaved. Other than that, it is still a good hole in the wall place. A side note, the prices have gone up a bit from my high school days but currently at $2.75 a taco (more like a burrito), the price increase is still a deal.

Ken’s Tacos (KT) is one heck of a little place. KT’s has a great trio going for them: 1. The food is absolutely delicious! 2. KT IS super generous with their portions 3. The food at KT’s is super cheap. That combo alone is worth a visit to KT’s. You’re bound to find some tacos you want to try here. Can’t recommend them enough. 10/10! Note: I will mention the parking here is very limited so keep that in mind when you visit.

Ate here on a whim for lunch today. Since it is Lent, I ordered the fish tacos, with grilled (not fried) fish. I was a little disappointed that I wasn't able to try their other tacos and had to settle for fish. I also rarely ever get fish tacos, as I've never been wowed by them. The people were very nice. The place is a bit of a dive, but sometimes those places have great food. This place is one of them. The fish tacos were incredibly good. There was some sort of pico / pepper / cilantro mix on top of the fish that perfectly complimented it. The fish tacos come on corn tortillas. I usually prefer flour, but these corn tortillas were some of the best I've had. They didn't fall apart like many do, and had a very good flavor that also complimented the fish. So yeah...don't sleep on the fish tacos at Ken's.

Where to park? Walk over, because the food is astounding and the service great! Very noisy inside. I just keep coming back. Low prices, big portions, wonderful. I'm ambiguous about writing this review but I will have to because it's one of my favorite places. The air conditioning is not that good and sometimes the dining room is not as clean as it could be but one becomes completely oblivious to these things as soon as they see the plate of fish tacos in front of them. These are absolutely the best fish tacos I've had anywhere in the US and when you make it into a taco plate it's even better. I really haven't tried anything else on the menu so I'll have to let others speak of those items. But I'm here to tell you the fish tacos are pretty darn good. I'll suggest trying both the red and the green sauce.

I've been a Ken's customer since the late 1990's. Nothing much has changed since then. Even the prices have remained reasonable amid Austin's boom (and recent bust with the pandemic). The food is always delicious, plentiful and high quality. Their cheese steaks are second to none and all the different Mexican food offerings are fantastic and usually more than you can eat. The attached pics are not truly representative of how great Ken's really is. You must experience it for yourself. Ken and his staff know what they're doing and they do it right!

The tacos are large and taste pretty good. They are not the best, but for the price and size they are a value. The service is hit or miss and sometimes the line is long and takes a while. When I first moved to Austin I was hooked on these tacos since then the size has started to fluctuate more and sometimes it is hard to know how big your tacos will be. If you want an Austin taco this is the place since it is better than most and more affordable.

Got my first timer's regular (sausage, egg & cheese). It was loaded! I could have easily made two tacos out of one. For ~$3, the value is there. While everything was fresh, it just lacked that little seasoning that would take it to the next level. I added their red salsa to it, which was so spicy it completely dominated every other element. This place was jamming at 9:30 on a Friday, so it definitely has a loyal following. For me - like it, don't love it.

Food is very tasty and abundant. Prices are super affordable and staff is friendly. Only drawback is atmosphere. Furniture is really cheap and the whole place could benefit from some TLC. I've been there twice and the food has not dissapointed but I still don't feel comfortable there. I'd say just try it once to cross it off your list. I recommend the cheese burger.

The food is always great here. However, there is a language barrier between some of the workers I was asked do I want green salsa? I said no to the green salsa, but I wanted red and the red salsa but it was not put in the bag and when I went to the counter to ask for it, they were looking at me like oh you want salsa, as if I committed a salsa homicide and they were investigating a salsa crime. I mean oh you want red salsa let me check your bag cause it’s $.90 let me check your bag and so they take my bag , look in it and they were like well. The lady said over there that you don’t want salsa. Customer service needs to be better with that because all they had to do was ask that I receive any. I would’ve told them no and they could’ve just gave me three sauces for the three tacos that I ordered.

I went to Ken’s Tacos for lunch. I decided to try their crispy tacos! They were OK. The meat didn’t really taste like ground meat, but it was good. It tasted like it had some chorizo in it or maybe it was the seasoning I’m not sure, but I know that they gave you plenty of meat and it was better than Taco Bell. I only ate one taco! I also purchased a Barbacoa soft taco with cilantro and it was delicious! I would definitely buy the Barbacoa taco again! It was so good! There’s parking out front, but probably max of 8-10 vehicles. When I came at 7am for breakfast there was already a steady flow of people coming in and out to place orders and to grab their takeouts. I learned about this place through word of mouth and some web searches. Highly disappointed. Although their serving sizes were enormous, the food was lackluster and the tacos did not stand out. I ordered two tacos: a bean & cheese and a sausage & egg. Again, they were massive! But upon opening the first tacos, I noticed that the tacos were not toasted and seemed as if they came directly out of the bag without any additional browning. Generic store though soft shells are what they tasted like. The sausage crumble was well seasoned, but the eggs could have used some too. For the bean taco, it was on par to lukewarm. I couldn’t finish that taco. The highlight was probably the salsa that it comes with! Great spice and flavor to the green one.

We went aoround 10am since we were in the area. Just avoid the bacon. Did not taste like bacon at all. Tasted more like old fried pork meat. My daughter is sensitive to pork and can only handle bacon but this gave her a horrible stomach ache. I felt pretty nauseous after a few bites so had to take it out on both of our tacos.

I ordered a special ( steak sandwich ) and the enchilada plate yesterday. The enchiladas were ok. The steak sandwich is always a hit, the only thing is I paid extra for fries for the steak sandwich and I didn’t received them. I called back to let them know no one answered. So today I called, the lady was extremely rude said I should’ve called yesterday. I told her I did call that no one answered. She said there’s a voicemail you should’ve left a voicemail yesterday. I didn’t know That’s what I was supposed to do. She said because it happened yesterday she wouldn’t help me. So if they mess up your order and no one answers leave a voicemail. If not you out of luck.

Very racist treatment from the staff, I noticed staff charges extra to som custo.ers for drink refills and to go plates while others get free refills and plates. Not fair at all. When I spoke to the manager about it she had no answer so I paid for the other customers refill and to go plate. So disappointed in these ladies and how they treat other race's

Called over the phone specifically to order 4 tacos 2 on flour Bac, Egg, Cheese, Potato and 2 on corn Sausage, Egg, Cheese Potato and repeated the order, got there to pay and they said they had 6 tacos instead of 4 and then proceeded to STILL get the order wrong after I sat in their faces and repeated the order only to find out they made all the tacos wrong and switched which tortilla they were supposed to be on to which the 2 ladies tried to challenge me saying she had it right, but how could it be right if I’m IN PERSON telling you that you STILL got it WRONG, and instead of trying to make the situation right and make the tacos correctly they REFUSED to serve me for THEIR MISTAKE

Honestly so surprised and disappointed by how bad the food was considering the great reviews that specifically mentioned tacos and the Phillies. Ordered barbacoa tacos and the philly cheese steaks. The tacos were literally dripping with grease and the philly cheese steaks bread was completely soaked and falling apart. It wasn’t toasted at all. Couldn’t even hold it up with two hands because it was just so wet with grease and breaking to pieces. Over $20 for food that was honestly inedible. Maybe it was just a bad day, idk but I won’t be back.

If I could give 0 starts i would , the “manager “ was super rude ! i got some ham & egg and the ham was rubbery it tasted like I was eating ham from lunchables it made me thrown up made me super dizzy , I never been the type to make a deal about some food but it was disgusting for them them to be rude when I just called to tell them what happened and be rude like that is crazy I’m really pissed off

I been here a couple of times and have enjoyed the food and fast service. But after today I will stop coming here. I ordered 2 barbocoa tacos, I kept hearing different numbers being called even tho they came after me. I go ask after 15min and they tell me they are working on it. Then after 40min I go confront them and they ask me again for the number. The cashier did not give the order number to the kitchen. Wasted 40min for just 2 tacos, when I have ordered 9 tacos to go before and they are ready within 10min. Just save yourself time and money from this place.

Stop by this place in order to try their lunch. I tried their breakfast tacos about 2 years ago. I ordered carne guisado or however you spell it. Lol. It was my first time trying it. Unfortunately, I didn’t like it ☹️ I asked the manager if I can exchange it, she said NO, and ask if I wanted a to go

Literally the worst food place to come to in the world they don’t answer the phone and they have bad attitudes everyone at the front they barely speak English I call to place a other I wanted 4 tacos I guess the lady didn’t hear me right and thought I wanted 8 tacos then didn’t wanna remake the food literally wanted to argue about how many tacos I wanted

I use to come to this place often when I lived in Austin. Came to eat here because I’m back in Austin and the service was horrible especially if your black/African American. I even recommend this place to the 1.7 MILLION PEOPLE THAT FOLLOW ME. I will NEVER BE BACK AND I WILL URGING MY FOLLOWERS TO NEVER GO AS WELL. Just shut your doors if you no longer want to provide good food and service.

I asked woman at counter if they had PICCADILLO, she said yes so I ordered 2 tacos.. this is what I got. Quite possibly the worst tacos EVER in Austin. Very plain seasoned ground beef and a chuck of potatoes smushed together. I don’t think it could be any dryer.. Horrible. They obviously have no clue what Piccadillo even is. What a disappointment..

Sad that I have to write this review after years of coming to this establishment. I bought 2 bacon egg and cheese and 2 chorizo and egg. Drove all the way from Georgetown to get home and my girlfriend finds hair in her taco. I called the establishment spoke to Lydia who was very rude and ugly. I asked to speak with the manager she said she is the manager. I explained to her what was going on she advised for me to bring the taco back in order to get credit. I explained to her I live in Georgetown and she said whatever I need to bring the taco back in order to get credit. I explained I’m just gonna go ahead and post a review her response was you can do whatever and hung up on me.
