Opinions de Tres Amigos Restaurant Austin
I have been coming into this place since I was a kid. The food is good, the drinks are great, known for the Sangria, it's a must try for sure, also the queso is the best, also a must try, never too busy, lots of parking, I usually try something different on every visit, the staff is nice and quick to greet you, very cool environment and lots of things to look at and purchase, we try and visit once a month since we are across town. Thanks to the staff for all their help. Great job y'all.
This is the best Mexican restaurant in Austin. The food may not be as elite as some of the more expensive places but the service and attention to detail is unmatched. Our water and salsa were both immediately refilled anytime a third of them were gone. We never had to wait for anything. The food was also great. This is the perfect hole in the wall Mexican spot. If you want good food, good queso, and good margs, then come here.
My server Manny was 🔥🔥🔥🔥. He was attentive to my hunger needs.. 😂. I had some delicious food with a sneak attack strawberry margarita. This was a perfect day for me! Thank you Manny for your service, hospitality and your handsome smile. You really made my bad day into a great day! I will definitely be back...💜🔥
Highly recommended! I passed by this place for years and never thought to give it a shot but so glad I finally did (and sad I didn’t do it sooner)! This is one of the best Tex-Mex spots in Austin. The staff is courteous and professional, the food is made with LOVE, wonderful atmosphere and the price is RIGHT. Recommend the flan for the dessert! I will be a new regular.
Loved this place! Stopped here after work with husband and our server Jesus was so helpful and kind. The atmosphere was lovely as well. Sangria Margarita tasted amazing as well as the enchiladas and fajitas. Yummy 😋
My new favorite Mexican restaurant! The margaritas were excellent, the food was outstanding, the service was flawless! And they are extremely vegetarian-friendly! Highly recommend the "cinco" (nachos) & "quatro" (fried jalapeños) appetizers. Loved everything and will definitely be coming back. Update: still excellent! We went with a big group today and the food & service was spot on!
The BEST takeout and sometimes they have karaoke
Caldo de res season is upon us and this was some of the best! The fajitas and enchiladas were so good. My family loved this place. Great service and we will be back.
We decided to visit this restaurant because it is in our neighborhood and east to get in and out of for my mother who is 91 years old. The food was tasty, but what really stood out was the love and care from the wait staff. They beamed smiles at mom and made sure we had everything we needed. Water glasses always full, did not rush us. I noticed several folks with walkers as well as a large table for a family gathering of multigenerations. Everyone was having a wonderful time. I want the staff to know that they are making a difference by providing this service in our community! Thank you!!❤️
It has been a really long time since we were actually seeeerved. We were super impressed with Adam, the nice chip gentleman, even the host who sat us. Impeccable service. Then, the food- let me tell you, I don't know what we were expecting but we never would have imagined the food being so damned good. We've lived over here for years always saying we were going to try it until finally we did and now we've agreed on being regulars.
I would give this place 6/5 if I could. Their food is delicious every time. One of the times, I placed an online to-go order and after I picked it up and left, got a phone call back that they left something out. That’s awesome that they would realize that and give me a call instead of letting it go. I appreciated that and they even compensated me with a dessert even though I didn’t expect anything extra! Way to go going above and beyond, love it! Will recommend this place to everyone and will keep coming back.
The service was great. Margarita and chips and queso were out quick. Great Margarita. Not overly sugary; perfect middle. They monitor your chip level and I needed I cut myself off so declined the third bowl. Lol.
This place is amazing! Always has great service and great drinks and food. Totally recommend this place for any and everyone to enjoy.
Sit at the bar with jumbo margarita ,rocks, no salt. Brought chips with hot sauce and butter (some people use it) watching Sunday pro football on big screen.
We took a spontaneous trip to Austin and we met with a family member who lives in the area. We were hungry for Mexican food and the location of this restaurant was convenient for our departure for home (Houston) and was easy for our cousin to get to. 3 out of 4 of us ordered enchiladas, which were amazing! The 4th meal was a soft taco plate. We all loved our meals, the environment, and service. The only pictures we took were family pics so that's all I can include. 😁
Damaris with Offline - The service here was lovely, everyone was really kind especially my waitress. The food was also great, I ordered the Botana plate which was awesome because I got to try a little bit of everything. Even though I got there an hour before closing, my experience was excellent. I never felt rushed. On top of that, I was able to redeem my Offline credit without an issue. I will definitely be returning!
This place was delicious with the most excellent service. I loved the restaurant vibe and aesthetics as it felt like home. Then the exceptional service, where our waitresses would often check on us and refill us with drinks, chips and salsa! The food was also quite delicious, I ordered a steak taco which was so delicious with spicy Spanish rice and beans. My wife ordered grilled shrimp tacos on corn tortillas. Both of us enjoyed the food and we both will be coming back again! Was not a big fan of the flan, otherwise everything else was spot on!
I love this place - it's rarely very busy, so I'm always seated right away with attentive servers. The food is everything I need from a trusted local Mexican lunch joint, the drinks are strong, and the menu has all of the classics and a few interesting additions. What's not to like?!
Great place to eat, one of the few places I’ve found with quail on the menu. Delicious food, the servers are nice, and the atmosphere is welcoming. This is one of my first recommendations to friends for places to eat in the Austin area.
I really like the beef enchiladas. . the food was served nice and hot. It was tasty!! Our wait person was so friendly and made sure we had a great experience. And the restaurant was clean. Definitely on my list to go back. 😊
Everyone was on point! Very attentive and pleasant. Never had to ask for drinks, Chips and/or Salsa to be refilled.
Tres Amigos is that “Steady-Eddy” to always keep on the back burner. It is ALWAYS a 5star quality! My favorite, no matter the season is the “Chile Relleno, all-the-way.” Whatever you do, order it “all-the-way,” don’t leave out the toppings.
I was working in the area and stopped in for lunch. Adam, my server was most attentive. I ordered the nuevo leon. The crispy puffy beef taco was delicious. It came out first. Shortly thereafter, the entree was brought to my table. Everything looked fantastic. The rice was, well, really good. Fresh and flavorful to my surprise. The cheese enchiladas were spot on. I love their sauce. And the puffy queso is tasty as well. I'm looking forward to getting back soon.
Service was outstanding. The best I've seen in a while. Food was good. Chips and salsa were great. Everything was clean. I will definitely be coming back. The service alone would get 6 stars if I could.
Staff is friendly! they seated us quickly. They brought out salsa and chips right when we sat down, and the salsa was amazing! we had 3 bowls of salsa before our meal. When we ordered, the food was brought to us within 15mins. Definitely will be back again
Tres Amigos is delicious. I know they used to have more locations, so I'm not sure if it's the same ownership. However, it's always spot on for delicious texmex. The food is great, I had impostor enchiladas the other night, and it was amazing. If you don't like cilantro, then you may want to ask for them to take it off. Drinks are great, too. One of few places that have the mini dos equis to put upside down in your margarita. Everyone else carries corona, which isn't as good if you ask me. Homemade salsa is legit. Try the puffy tacos, too. Nothing here is bad. Update 2/20/2025. Tonight, I had the Tres Amigos enchiladas. It had ground beef, black beans, mushrooms, and cheese. It was amazing. 3 with rice and beans for $16!!! This is affordable and worth every cent. Drinks are also priced right. Top shelf margaritas for $16. That's almost 15% less than most texmex places and even more if you go to one of those new fancy places that serve the same tequila in their margaritas. If you haven't been to Tres Amigos, or don't go often, you should. This is what Austin used to be all about.
We wandered on this place randomly trying to escape the nearby traffic. I was surprised by the wonderful atmosphere, service, drinks & food. I had the fish tacos and they were delish (not sure where the lime was though?) the green chicken enchiladas were “fine” according to my friend. The salsa however? Amazing! Pomegranate margaritas were on point! Prices were fair and portions are good sized. I’ll be back! #yumyum
Everytime I go there the bartender makes alsome drinks and the food is great. We go there for special occasions like birthday and things
This place is a hit and miss … parking lot might seem empty but people prefer to park in the back .. the food is amazing.. the staff are very friendly…. Very clean place even the bathrooms… we sat at the bar, Leti the bartender was amazing very knowledgeable about the food and drinks with recommendations she was on point… I wish we had try this place earlier ..::: the manager Lizbeth even came and walk around to acknowledge the costumer even took our picture when we ask her to do it ..!!! I really do recommend this place food, drinks and staff are awesome.!!!! 10/10
Really good Mexican food. I had the Durango dinner which was beef enchilada, chalupa, tostadas, rice and beans. It was delicious. Margaritas were very good tho the seemed just a little pricey The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and left us wanting for nothing. I will be back next time i’m in Austin.
Great food excellent service. Clean environment friendly staff.
Excellent Chile Rellenos, but I had to ask for the pecans and raisins, which used to come on top. Those really add something to the flavor combination. The enchiladas were also excellent.
A true Austin original that has stood the test of time. I have enjoyed this with my grandmother and parents as a child. With my wife, children, sister, sister in law, niece and nephew as an adult. It's not just nostalgia though, it still is one of the best places around for both texmex as well as more authentic Mexican dishes. Go! You won't be sorry. Enjoy!
Excellent customer service food took a little time to come out which I was absolutely appreciating because that meant that the food was going to be nice and hot fresh and guess what? It absolutely was the best Mexican food we have had in a long time! 5 star rating for sure!
My wife and I love this place. We come here at LEAST once a month, usually more. Anything we’ve tried has been great, drinks are good, service is excellent. Our fav server, Manny, always takes good care of us. We never have to wait long for food. If you want some good Mexican food in a low key place with good service, this is the place!
Salsa is absolutely phenomenal. We order an extra pint when we come in to take home bc it's so good. The al pastor comes on hand made corn tortillas, they're incredible. Wait staff is always kind, parking is a cinch. Interior is beautiful. Perfect for Sunday lunch or a family birthday dinner.
This is a very good Mexican restaurant. They had music playing in the background. Food was delicious. I had enchiladas poblanas, which are served with rice and beans. Server was very friendly and attentive. They provided complimentary desert for my mother-in -law and entire staff came out to sing Happy birthday!
From the moment I walked in, I felt happy. The hostess greeted me with such a warm and welcoming smile, it set the tone for the entire visit. The food was authentic, delicious, and served at the perfect temperature, fresh and hot. The salsa was full of flavor, perfectly spicy, and paired beautifully with the fresh chips. Even the tea tasted freshly brewed, a small detail that made a big difference. I ordered the cheese enchiladas, and with the very first bite, I was transported back to my childhood at my abuelita’s house. It was pure nostalgia on a plate. I will definitely be coming back, even though I’m sad to say this gem is three hours away from me. Absolutely worth the drive!
Tres Amigos was a great choice! I ordered the Guadalajara with a beef enchilada and beef tacos—they were both tasty and full of flavor. My husband ordered the grilled tilapia fish tacos, they were fresh, with a nice crunch and a touch of lime that made them even better. We also tried the mangonada, a frozen mango drink with a mix of sweet and tangy flavors—it was so refreshing! The staff was friendly and attentive, which made our visit even more enjoyable. I’d definitely recommend trying this place!
Nice neighborhood place, welcoming staff and attentive service. The fresh chips & salsa were the perfect start along with some queso. I had the Cinco Nachos (saw another review recommending) - large plate of chips loaded with ground beef, cheese, onions and peppers - very good, perfect for sharing. I will be back!
Wonderful place to go and be pampered by wonderful staff. The dining experience was worth every penny. You must try the Flan after dinner. Save room for it. My dinner plate still had more food on it than I could eat. So guess what kind of midnight snack I am having tonight. To the waitress with the "Love Yourself First" tattoo, you were amazing! I wish I could remember the male staff members name who also took great care of our entire party. High Five and thank you and the rest of the hidden staff who made our dining experience the best.
I visited on a Friday night around 8pm, within seconds I was seated with chips, salsa, cold water, and a Negra Modelo in a chilled glass. I ordered the puffed tacos, they were light and airy with a nice crunch, very fresh and flavorful. Service was exceptional with a very attentive bartender. Would highly recommend.
This is a great spot for authentic Mexican food. I often get the sizzling fajitas (chicken & beef or shrimp) which are all fantastic. The service is also really good. Adam always remembers my name and order - I’ve had a fantastic experience in large part due to his service. I would recommend coming here and will certainly be coming back!
Mixed feelings. My brother ordered the guisada and he said it was great. My mother and I shared the fajita nachos. We were not as thrilled to see 3 tiny pieces of meat on each nacho. We did snack on them since we were hungry, but for $15 pricing I would expect to have a few more pieces of meat. Will definitely try again and maybe it was an off moment when we ate there. Tea was great and chips and salsa were also great. Avoid nachos if they only put 3 pieces of meat on them. Not worth it for the price.
It was ok, the service was show. The restaurant was nice inside. Nothing wowed us.
The atmosphere was good. The service was good also. From the time we sat down and ordered till we got our food was a little long. There was 8 of us plus 2 kids and the place was slow. The food was good but a little bland. I had 2 fajita tacos, rice and beans. You have to ask for guac and jalapenos because some plates don't come with it. Over all it was a nice late lunch. Bathrooms cleaned.
This place is one of my go-to's when im looking for good food at decent prices for a small group of folks.
This was a great lunch spot! The food was excellent, and the wait staff were all friendly and attentive. They had a nice selection of cocktails that, while not spectacular, were plenty tasty and reasonably priced. Overall, it was a really great experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again!
Stoped in for lunch. Wife got queso especial and I got puffy taco and enchilada. Queso was good but the beef that was in in, also in my taco and enchilada was pretty plain. Salsa is hot. Be careful if you are not a spicy food person. Personal I liked it but the wife found it to hot My puffy taco was interesting but ultimately hard to eat as if fell apart as soon as o tired to eat it. As mentioned previously the beef could definitely use a little more seasoning. Over all decent Mexican food.
Went for lunch. Waitress provided good quality service. Chips were excellent, salsa was delightful. Food was hot. I was disappointed there were no refried beans with lunch meal. Festive atmosphere, pleasant decorations, clean bathrooms. The only real gripe I have is we spent $40 ( not including tip) for 2 adults and one child lunch time sized plate. Lunch time portions, dinner prices.
We are always so happy with the service we receive here! We are a large group that regularly meets here and we are routinely warmly welcomed. Our chips and salsa stay full. Our server takes orders as we are ready. The chicken is seasoned well, and the various sauces are terrific. The house cocktails are delicious too.
Great service and atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming. However, my entree was a bit disappointing. I had the Carmelo's Stuffed Avacado. I've had a stuffed avacado entree at different Mexican restaurants and this paled in comparison. The queso covering the avacado tasted a bit off. It wasn't cheesy, but a little tangy. Chips and salsa were delicious.
It's been over a year since we have eaten here. My husband's fajitas were great. I've always eaten the chimichanga as it's my all-time favorite; however, what I got yesterday was nothing in comparison. It was half the size, the tortilla was so tough it was hard to cut, and the filling was mostly beans. I'm very disappointed. I won't order it again.
Tres Amigos used to be really good and QUITE busy. As I read the "live" time it says "Busier than usual." I can count the number of guests dining in right now (less than 20). My husband and I wanted the fajitas. They were good, but I've seen fajitas for two at other restaurants, and there's more meat. Our daughters joined us a little later and only wanted dessert (chocolate and vanilla ice cream and a strawberry cheesecake). Despite what the menu offered, there was no chocolate ice cream. Only vanilla and mango. There was also no strawberry cheesecake. How hard is it to update the sheet of paper and stick the new page in the lamination sheets? My daughter walked in with a Dr. Pepper and the hostess staff said nothing to her. Our friendly waitress asked if we wanted her to throw it out. No thank you. My daughter just went back to the car with it. Overall, I enjoyed it better pre-pandemic.
Respectfully I didn't enjoy the food. The queso was not doing it for me. I got the chicken enchiladas. The flavors were flat. Not in the spicy sense but almost like it was missing salt. Maybe it just wasn't any love in it. The service was alright though. Overall "It's a no for me dawg."
I really do understand being short staffed but it’s not a reason to be rude. I suppose that our waiter could have been having a bad day (at noon on a Tuesday) but I’m guessing that this is just who he is. He was not at all friendly. In fact, it seemed that he just wanted us to order so that he could bring the food so that we could leave. He never came back to check on us, we had to ask another lady for a couple of things and she had to go find him and tell him for us. I prefer to always leave at least a 20% tip but because of the service and attitude we received my husband insisted that I not leave a good tip. Hopefully the new people that they eventually hire will at least be nice.
I usually eat here once a month or so. Tonight I was just going to get my usual fish tacos when my server asked if I had seen the special Grilled Tilapia (Manny, you're the dude!) OMG! I didn't think about taking a picture but the smell was wonderful and the taste was even better! It's two nice pieces of fish covered in a mushroom onion sauce that might contain a touch of orange juice and served over a bed of rice. To be honest it doesn't look like much but the smell and taste... I will be ordering this as long as it's on the menu.
Came here on a Friday evening to treat myself after the week. This place is lovely, and the location is quite convenient - right off 290. The service is awesome! The complimentary chips came out warm, which is super nice. I also ordered a small guac, which tastes awesome! It's creamy and refreshing with the right amount of tartness. I tried the uno starter plate, and the poppers are so good! Very flavorful, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. The el pastor tacos are ok, although I'd say the seasoning is a little too much to my taste. I also got the puffy tacos, but these aren't very good. I love the idea of frying a puffy tortilla, but unfortunately, the fillings are not compatible. I ordered one beef and one chicken. The beef filling essentially is cooked minced beef with typical taco meat seasoning but over-salted. The chicken taco, on the other hand, is way too bland. It tastes like a chicken breast boiled, pulled, and stuffed into the taco pocket. The seasoning of the meats, however, is not the biggest problem. The worst part is that the meat juices also got put into the taco. That completely dissolves the bottom of the crispy outside (a soggy bottom if you watch the British bakeoff). I couldn't even hold it in my hand when taking a bite. It just fully collapsed. Overall, I liked the starters and guac, but the puffy tacos certainly need some improvement.
The chips were warm and the salsa was good but it went downhill from there. We had to repeatedly send drinks back, the food was mediocre lacking flavor and we were over charged. Staff did not let us know adjustments to the build your own would cost more. We didn’t receive the basic taco toppings but instead substituted for cilantro y onions yet we were charged $2 per taco. There was a lack of transparency and management wasn’t very understanding.
Was craving puffy beef tacos. The food was prepared different, she'll was dry .Usually the service was timely in the past however our order too awhile.
Beware that if you order the "Build your own" combo and request fajita meat instead of ground beef, they will charge you the full $3 upcharge for the meat and then only give you 1 item with the fajita meat and the other with ground beef, and then tell you it is a $3.00 upcharge for each item when questioned......And it makes no sense since every other combo (all tacos or enchiladas, etc.) have the $3 upcharge for the whole combo, not per item. Hope Management reviews this practice and changes it, because it feels scammy.
My husband and I visited Tres Amigos Restaurant and Cantina on a Saturday around 2pm. We were immediately greeted and seated, and there was no wait. Our server brought us chips and salsa right away. The salsa was very spicy/hot due to the drought and jalapenos being very strong. I couldn't eat it, but my husband enjoyed it. I ordered the queso especial, which is chile con queso combined with ground beef, pico de gallo, and fresh guacamole. The portion seemed a bit small, but it was good. My husband ordered the nuevo leon, which is a beef enchilada with chili sauce, a puffy beef taco, rice, and a puffy taco shell covered with chile con queso. I opted to get my order as a starter because my husband's meal had one of the puffy tacos served as an appetizer. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Tres Amigos. The food was decent, the service was good, and the atmosphere was typical of a Mexican restaurant. Would I return? Maybe. There's plenty of other Mexican restaurants around and we don't live in Austin, so I would probably try another place.
I've been wanting to try this place since I just moved here about 2 months ago. I was disappointed in the food and not to say the least the 1 margarita I had. To pricey and small and taist just like a bitter lemon. Cilantro rice had no cilantro in it or taist. My flauta was soft and kinda soggy. Waitress was nice. 🙃
Place looks nice but the good isn't that good not authentic
The moment that we were seated and our server approached us, he was very rude. He was taking our order like doing us a favor. My husband is a disabled veteran, and retired chef. We know what good service looks like. Our server was also playing with his nose. We like the food, but probably it will take a long time before we go back. We were very disappointed.
We won't be back. Despite the friendly staff and manager, it just wasn't to par. The best thing we had was the cookie on the kid's ice cream dessert. My chalupas compuesta didn't come as i ordered it. Add beef, guacamole on the side. The cheese was Monterrey Jack, which wasn't bad but it was unexpected. I asked why it looked like milk, it was put through the oven to melt it but that only made the tortilla taste like burned oil. Then it was so soggy that I couldn't pick up the chalupa. I Had to eat With a fork and i couldn't eat the rest anyway. My husband ordered the puffy beef tacos, they taste good but the shells were so stiff, they looked more like puffy chalupas! Haha! Still good to eat though. My son loved the tamale and rice on the kid's menu. The cookie on top of the ice cream was so good we ordered a doz separately! The margaritas were good and strong. The booth was nestled up against a wall with a time framed window with tiles missing. Tacky!
Visited yesterday and the server was pleasant, tacos were not. The meat was flavorless. I ordered the spicy pineapple margarita which was delicious! However it was more ice than margarita in a small glass. Here's the best part~it was $14.00. I let the waitress now that she was great but the drink was overpriced considering the small glass with all the ice. She said we'll that's how much it costs with a helpless look on her face. I could tell she felt bad and probably agreed. Nevertheless, I won't be going back. Now I see why the place is always empty when I pass by.
Food needs to be updated immediate. Rice was scorched and enchiladas were the size of a pencil. Sauce was burnt.
Ate here with a group for lunch. Flavor is not authentic. Drinks like margaritas are water down. Service is good. Salsa is ok. They advertise Mojitos but when we ordered one, took our order to come back to let me know they were out. No atmosphere whatsoever. Was empty for lunch on a weekday. I'll come back 2c if it might have been the day I was there.
Definitely not recommended.. They took so long to bring the food they charge to much. Each taco is $7 n some cents + onion and cilantro what?? I have a food bussines N don't charge extra for cilantro tacos should come with it. We pay $245 for something that we didn't like... Will never come back..
This place was terrible! The food was awful. I got “cheese” enchiladas that had NO sauce on it. And then they charged me $2.00 for cheese sauce… our waitress came to our table only 1 time and they were dead… now I know why no one was there. Don’t waste your time and money. $17 for dry enchiladas and charged for something I didn’t even receive.
I went to Tres Amigos with my co-workers for a 1 hour lunch break. Upon entering the restaurant had 2 groups of people eating in the dining area a several in the bar area. We placed our drink & food orders. 40 minutes later we were supplied with our food on hot plates and styrofoam containers to go with now prompting or forewarning. Each bill was assigned a gratuity. The manager didn’t remove the gratuity another gentleman did, no offer to remove drinks or any compensation for the lack of communication about why the food took so long only to say everything was fresh. I don’t know how fresh some ground meat, lettuce, tomatoes, pre-made taco shells, rice & beans could be. Everyone’s food was cold. This is not a place I recommend for lunch and any other time for that matter.
Horrible service. My family and I sat there completely ignored while other tables were helped right away. I asked for a highchair, and instead of helping, the staff argued about who should get it. They never even took our drink order, and no one noticed when we got up and left. Totally unprofessional and disappointing — I won’t be coming back.
Bad service we where seating at the table for like 8 minutes and no service I felt discrimination bc I saw they attend the other customers real quick! They didn't even notice when my family and I walked out the restaurant!!
They do NOT have half orders of quesadillas!!! I asked the waitress about a half order when I ordered it and after I got the food, all times she confirmed it was a half order, no mistake. The check I got was for the full price and I didn’t notice until I got home. I called the place, they said there’s nothing they can do unless I bring it back (I live an hour away) and then ignored my following call. The place and food was nice but that definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be going back.
Firts time we order sopa de tortilla and chile relleno plate portion was so poor rice over over and over reheating I can tell also no tortilla for my plate yes no tortillas that’s so sad but anyways we order a glass of water and the water is so Nasty server she never ask if we ok if food is ok anything
Do NOT waste your money here. I received my food and the carmelo was clearly reheated and burnt. The chicken inside was extremely dry and burnt as well. I called several times and eventually spoke with a manager, who offered to replace the item if I brought it back. Due to my schedule, I returned the following day and ordered enchiladas instead. When I went to pick up my order, an older Spanish-speaking woman walked toward the kitchen and began telling the other waitresses—in Spanish—that the food was not burnt. They were laughing. I responded in Spanish and stated that it was burnt, at which point two other waitresses began laughing as well. I felt extremely uncomfortable and ended up walking out. What made the situation worse is that the same woman later had the nerve to call me and say my food was ready. I spoke to her again in Spanish and explained that before she and her staff speak about customers in Spanish, they should consider that the customer may understand the language. She appeared shocked and then tried to remove herself from the situation. I asked her three times—in Spanish—for the manager’s name, and she refused to provide it. This behavior is unprofessional and disappointing. I have visited Tres Amigos before and interacted with the owner, who was very kind, but her staff’s conduct was completely out of line. It makes me wonder what is being said about other customers who don’t understand Spanish. I truly hope the owner addresses this and corrects the behavior of her staff.
I love this place but tonight they left the restaurant for children to run. Long story short my bill was just short of 50 bucks, for 2 enchilada dinners, the 1st was supposed to be chicken with sour cream sauce there were three tortillas with sour cream no chicken no cheese, then 3 assorted enchiladas but there were only two. I order chips and hot sauce small but they got that wrong as well and charged me for a large. I have eaten here for the past ten years, this makes me sad.
If I could give negative stars I sure would. The whole experience was just awful. We booked the back room for a wedding reception and we reserved it way ahead of time. The restaurant was near empty maybe a table or two but nothing to make it where we got the horrible service that we got. We had reserved it for up to 50 people so they should have been prepared. They took orders of like 2 or 3 people at a time then would put the order in . People were done eating by the time some were barely were getting their order taken. We had this room from 1-3 we had not even gotten to do the cake by the time they were telling us we had to go or pay more money. The food was horrible and bland, even the water and soda was disgusting. The server on our side was rude and slow, they messed up checks , and plates, and the server on our side was unwilling to fix things but the other server did . It was chaotic and not at all the experience we would have wanted . And for a server to straight out be so rude about allowing an adult order off a kids menu is just ridiculous. Its not like we weren't all eating and spending tons of money on their very overpriced priced food. All the person at our table wanted was a chicken strip kids meal and the server straight up said she would rather lose a sale than to allow us to order a kids meal. Alot of restaurants will allow it or maybe add an upcharge . But she literally said no and if you aren't gonna order off the regular menu then I don't know whst ro tell you. I would never recommend this place and especially not for a party. .And the music was so loud that when giving the best man /maid of honor speeches you couldnt even hear what was being said . The only good thing about this place was being with the family and friends
