Rating: 9/10 Date Last Visited: 8/23/2025 We ordered the Chili Sandwich ($16), Leg Quarters ($16), Spice Bag ($14), and Chicken Salt Fries ($8). The chicken in all three entrees were delicious - they were well seasoned, fried perfectly, and super juicy. The leg quarters were the star of the show, they were enormous. Each leg was coated beautifully with batter and seasoning. The chicken itself was juicy and delicious. Although the sandwich was a bit small for the price, the flavor was solid and each bite was elite. The spice bag is done as well as it could be - the curry was solid and went well with the fried chicken bites and crispy fries. The chicken salt fries were crispy but I didn’t really taste the chicken salt, it tasted like regular fries but still good. Overall, this place is solid and worth trying if you want an Asian twist on fried chicken.
It just baffles me why didn't this restaurant got enough love/reviews. I first exposed to Chef Eric Huang on Eater video who discovered the beauty of Chicken Chilli Oil during pandemic. That was 3 years ago. Fast forward to January 2026, where I got the chance to finally make my wish come true to visit Manhattan! Definitely was looking for his masterpiece. Then I did it, arrived at this place after took a bit walk from Chinatown, ordered the spiciest chicken chili oil for takeaway and ate it a the hotel. Man, that's the best spicy fried chicken that I ever tasted. I really recommend you to not miss this. The only downside is that the place is a bit small, so it can be a hustle to eat inside when the restaurant is packed. Thank you Chef Huang, I'll come back here when I got the chance to visit New York again!
I just has the Chili Chicken Sandwich which lived up to its reputation. Soft, elegant milk bread, a jumbo thigh, perfectly moist on the inside and crispy on the outside, topped with a few pickles and some kewpie mayo. I felt that the sauce could have had more heat but was delicious as it was. Minimal but clean decor. Only a few bottled sodas and jarritos and a jug of free water. Well worth a trip to the out-of-way location.
Chili chicken sandwich was INCREDIBLE - crisp fry, super tender chicken, just the right amount of chili sauce for flavor but not too spicy or salty. Kind of messy to eat so be warned :) Chinatown chicken sandwich was good too but not as standout. Also ordered the cucumber salad which was a perfect complement to the sandwiches since it was very refreshing and light, and the fries were very underwhelming - pretty standard fries with just a light dusting of spice powder. Interior is very bare bones and small, just 4 tables.
Pretty small interior with 2-3 tables. Fire chili oil fried chicken!! I’ve been here like 3 times - Chili sandwich ($16): 11/10, love this! Bread is really soft, and the chicken is juicy and crispy. Not a huge fan of pickles, but it worked in this. Not spicy and kinda oily lol - Leg quarters ($16): 9/10, huge portions, couldn’t finish it lol. Same breading as the chili fried chicken, but prob wouldn’t get again - Cucumber salad ($6): 5/10, not memorable
To be honest, w this price and the portion you get, it’s rare in NYC. Staff is super friendly and helpful! Chicken is delicious I didn’t have the fav sauce tho so that’s the only downside. But overall a great experience!
TLDR: fried chicken here is awesome, I prefer the salted egg yolk but all of it is good I got the two legs of chicken with salted egg yolk and I got to enjoy the salted egg yolk flavor on fried chicken with very crispy skin and juicy meat. I do miss the size of the brooklyn location but the food still hit the spot
Visited for lunch, super casual and chill. Friendly and quick service. The chilli chicken sandwich was amazing! Would highly recommend.
TLDR: Super flavorful and crispy chicken and awesome service in an unassuming part of town. Great spot to hit when you’re down to throw on some latex gloves and go to town on spicy 🍗
This is the best fried chicken we’ve ever had. The chicken is so juicy, tender and full of flavor. We went back a second time during our trip just to try the half chicken which was fantastic with a perfect crisp to the skin and the spicy seasoning was delicious. Not too heavy on the heat but flavorful that you can taste the distinct notes of seasoning. So delicious.
This place is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood. It’s small, so be prepared for a wait or a line, but it’s definitely worth it. We typically order takeout, and the food never disappoints. The chicken is absolutely fantastic, and everything here is thoughtfully prepared with a clear focus on quality ingredients. The only letdown for me is the gem salad. It's drenched in buttermilk dressing, which overpowers the delicate flavors of the lettuce. However, the true star of the show is the French fries. Coated in umami powder and topped with shaved egg yolks, they’re quite possibly the best fries I’ve ever had. Simply put, they’re unbeatable.
The chicken sandwich was fried to order. The thigh meat was nicely seasoned , juicy,, and very crispy. Creatively toppings either caramelized onions, soy sauce, and pickles. Lots of other interesting menu items. Very limited seating.

I had the chilli chicken wings, these were so big I took 1 of the 3 home. The taste was great, the spice level was perfect (for me).

Delivery got messed up somehow and didn’t show up. They fixed as fast as they could. Chicken sandwich and wings were fantastic. Turkey bacon fries rice tasty. Dumplings amazing. Worth the wait..
Food was great. I'd definitely eat that chili chicken sandwich again. The fries are a huge portion and good for sharing (between my partner and I, we didn't even finish them, there were that many!) Ordering the sandwich + prices came out to be $26. Their fried chickens have a great marinades, which make it messy to eat. I wish they had some wipes or something other than the paper towel/napkin option. This is ideal for dining-in; I don't recommend eating on the go. There's very limited seating, but somehow we snagged a seat. The party who ate before us didn't clean up after themselves... which wasn't very considerate. I ended up throwing up their trash. The staff seemed very busy behind the counter, and never came around to clean the tables. this is very much a takeout-forward place.
The sandwich is the way to go! The chili chicken was sooo delish! And the milk bread matches / compliments in a beautiful way. Didn’t love the egg yolk flavour - a bit dry? Weird texture? The fries were simply not good. EMP alum do better!!! Frozen fries, too thick, not crispy enough, with a forgettable salt? Would come back for the sandwich but I hope the other stuff improves.
It’s a very small restaurant hiding at the edge of Chinatown on a quiet street. The restaurant is very small only four small tables for two you can sit down to eat. Most people are take out and delivery available on DoorDash too. I had the chili chicken sando, deep fried chicken dark meat soaked in chili sauce and chili oil, it’s very flavorful but not too spicy. The coating is very crispy. The quarter dark meat chicken is a whole leg, the size isn’t very big. I picked the salty egg option which is $1 addition. I’m usually a salt egg fan but I don’t think it wows me on the big piece of chicken. The food are very oily and they advertised themselves WITH MSG, which it’s fine, there’s no concrete evidence of MSG is bad unless you over consume it. If you have problem with oily food and MSG this might not be your place. The cashier is super nice, delivered food to my table and even brought me utensils and box tissue that I forgot to grab, the price went up. Isn’t a cheap place to eat in Chinatown

Very large, affordable potions of fried chicken coming in a variety of Southern/Sichuan spices to fufill how much you want to burn your face. The service could not have been more polite and accommodating.
The space has five tables that can seat 2 people each. The ¼ Chicken with Salted egg was good. Light coating Juicy Chicken. The Sandwich was good as well. They didn't have the mashed potatoes with gravy when I got there which was disappointing but their cornbread and daikon was great.

The soggy dumplings stood out, not good. The salted egg tenders were a bit dry, but the garlic and herb wings were juicy. Cucumber salad was bland. My sister said it was better when the actual owner was present in the restaurant
The store is located under Manhattan bridge which is an interesting location. Service is friendly and quick. The good: chili chicken offers a peppercorn flavor with a sweet soy which is awesome but it’s a little intense and oily. The first bite is fascinating but once the nuance wears off it’s a little dry on the inside. Same with the garlic herb. It’s a great Asian flavor combo you can’t get anywhere else but inside it’s not juicy and letting the wrapping/ coating do all the work is a little unfair. All in all a great place to try but is it worth $22 for like a leg and some wings? I’ll let you decide.

Saw a YouTube video of this restaurant and had a hankering for their chicken ever since. When I walked in the restaurant smelt of Nashville style chicken. I ordered the chili leg quarters and the chicken fries. Fries were nothing too special (other than it being $8). I wasn't impressed with the chicken either. It looked awesome. Very rich red color. I took a piece of the skin and tasted the beginning of what I wanted to expect: a symphony of different seasonings and spices, a hint of sweetness, and the floral punch of chilis. However, after those initial notes, it took a drastic downturn. No lasting flavor. It tasted like it wanted to have spice but didnt know if it wanted to be spicy so decided to die off. It was even worse with the sweetness. I would of loved it to have more than an hint or sweetness but it lost character of it quicker than the spice. Worst of all was the chili. With that chili flavor you would expect some above moderate heat. From what I can think is the chef wanted to get the true essence of the chilis, but in doing so made the chicken taste extremely floral. Maybe the floral taste would of been complemented with the heat, but the chicken almost tasted perfume like with the taste of the chilis. The fried skin was ok to me. I would of appreciated a harder crusty skin but the skin they had was still good. All in all, the chicken was not bad. I just didnt enjoy eating the chicken and was glad that I had ate it so no one else around me can ask for some.
I order a Chinatown sandwich, but I feel there's no any pork floss added in my order and it costs $18, fries and chicken strips nothing special just a normal strip for me

I previously left a glowing review for this place. I was introduced to pecking house in Brooklyn where I live and was delighted to see that they opened one near my job in financial district. Previous visits to this one were excellent. I even met the owner and his wife once during lunch and asked if the cornbread would be back soon because it was missed. Today I felt to treat myself after work. It was the perfect pick. I went and ordered two orders of quarter chickens and two cornbreads. Upon arriving home, I found that I wasn’t given my full order. What I did receive is in a photo that I’m going to attach here. I called the location back from my Brooklyn, Home and the gentleman who picked up acted as though he did not speak English. Furthermore, he just jumbled words that weren’t even Spanish. So that I would hang up. And then called back with a friend to translate for me and he swore up and down that he in fact did include the chicken. This is not true. I’m not hard up for money at all and can gladly pay for chicken. This is not a ploy to pull one more piece of chicken out of them but the service here is now terrible. I do not recommend going here. Taking into account that I previously thought this was the best fried chicken I’ve had. I don’t know if ownership has changed or something but they left some incompetent people in the store. If you are the store owner, please review the tape at around 6:40 PM, December 17. You’ll see I sat right near the register waiting for my order.

They messed up my order so badly that I ended up vomiting after eating it. The staff behind the counter struggled to communicate in English, which made everything more complicated. My chicken was burned twice, yet somehow still raw inside. I also ordered sodas, but they charged me more than what was listed on the menu. I asked for a refund, but because of the language barrier, it became a long and frustrating process. Eventually, I let it go, but never again. They were not attentive or helpful at all. They spent more time figuring out my change than actually preparing the food. I was the only customer there, yet I still had to wait while they tried to confirm whether they gave me the correct change and order. Overall, it was a horrible experience.
