With my spouse, I recently visited the OpenBuffer branch, and it was an extraordinary experience. The warm welcome and the impeccable service truly set the tone, exceeding all expectations. The delicious indian coffee and fresh lemonade were the perfect start. The food? Absolutely divine, genuine variety Indian food bursting with flavor and a hint of spice, and the value for money was amazing. The atmosphere was immaculate. The simply delish Indian desert adding finishing touches. And all at an incredible value of $52 for both of us including the tip. Highly recommend!.
i was going here to pick up an order for uber eats and it was taking time cause they were very busy. however the owner let me have some buffet food for free and gave a sincere apology. all the staff was very kind and patient!

Enjoying the buffet at Avon Indian Grill was a lovely experience. The staff is always so pleasant and attentive. Since I am not accustomed to spices, they are very careful to advise if I might find anything too spicy. The food is delicious and so is the Indian coffee. We are looking forward to going back!
Absolutely love this place. Quick and efficient and the food never disappoints! My last take out order they threw in a chickpea salad for free and everything was amazing. Great local place, kind people, awesome food.
I tried Avon Indian Grill for the first time last night and am so glad I did! There was one very large party of about 15-20 people and two tables of two people each. My party of two was sat right away. Though they may have been a little slow taking our order due to the large party, I was happy for the time to look over the extensive menu. N.B. the in-restaurant menu has many more items/options than are listed on the website menu. So if you check it out online before going, it’s good to know this. We ordered Vegetable Samosa and Bhel Puri for appetizers and were so impressed. Both were very good, but the Bhel Puri was excellent! So many flavors and textures (lots of crunch). For entrees we had Chicken Jalfrezi (spicy/hot) and Chicken Madras (medium). Again, both dishes were delicious. Like our appetizers, the main course was bursting with flavors and the spice level was perfect for our tastes. For dessert we ordered a Mango Lassi and Ras Malai. Unfortunately they were out of Ras Malai, and instead brought us a delicious Kheer to try, on the house! Again, outstanding flavors, the saffron was the star! Without prompting (i.e. no complaints from us) they apologized profusely about the longer-than-is-customary wait time for the food and not having the dessert we ordered. Not only did we get to try a new dessert gratis, they also comped us for the lassi. We didn’t mind the wait since we weren’t in a hurry, and still the staff took it upon themselves to extend their apologies and offer free dessert. If we were in a rush, we would had mentioned it, or perhaps come back another time when we saw the large group. I have no doubt everyone at Avon Indian Grill aims to please and would like every customer to leave satisfied. In summary, excellent food and extremely friendly staff! Worth the visit!

We celebrated Christmas at Avon Indian Grill this year. The food was amazing (as always), the atmosphere was cheerful and felt so comfortable. The staff and owner are always so attentive and check in to make sure we have everything we need. I can’t say enough wonderful things about dining here, it’s a very family/homey feeling. If you’ve never tried Indian food, I highly recommend going during a buffet. You have the opportunity to try a variety of dishes and if you have any questions, someone is always willing to answer them and steer you in the direction of a dish that just may become your favorite go-to…and this just might become your favorite Indian spot, because it for sure has become ours!
We had sunday Lunch buffet and there were so many choices of food, along with soup, Indian coffee and a cold green drink. The servers were exceptionally nice and happy to explain dishes we were unfamiliar with
We just moved to the West Hartford area a few months ago and we love Avon Indian Grill. Its the best Indian restaurant around. The food always comes out fresh, flavorful and made with love. We particularly enjoy going to the Sunday buffet with our little toddlers and its kind of become our little tradition. The kids always get excited for “buffet” time haha! Buffet has a lot of veg and non veg options! I absolutely love their grilled chicken tikka and chicken malai kebab.its among the best I’ve had in the US (I’m from India). Very juicy and flavorful grilled chicken! Veg korma, peshawari and Dal tadka are also my go-to. Also try the Lasuni Gobi if you go there! I think this restaurant is a hidden gem in Avon and we are glad to have stumbled upon it. Keep up the amazing food and service AIG!
Excellent Indian food, in a contemporary decor. The food is awesome. It has the right balance of appetizers and main course; nothing outlandish so that the kitchen will take forever to make. Friendly staff.
We visited Avon India Grill today for their Sunday Brunch Buffet, and it was absolutely amazing! The food was fresh, flavorful, and offered a big variety of delicious dishes. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Everything tasted authentic and well-prepared. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon, highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and warm hospitality!
Perfect lunch and yummy food. Loved the ambience and hosts were awesome, took care of serving the food fresh hot on the table. My daughter loved the chicken tikka grill, must try. Desserts were perfectly sweet and delicious.
We have enjoyed eating at Avon Indian Grill since the day they opened (photos from one of their first few buffets) and have also availed their catering services. I wanted to wait before writing a review because there is a tendency for restaurants to start with aplomb and then just deteriorate. I am very happy and relieved that they continue to deliver EXCELLENCE! The food is fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is intimate and the staff is very attentive. I was floored by the staff’s ability to handle the usual food industry challenges elegantly and effectively. To the owner, they are keepers!! We recently worked directly with the owner for a large catering order. He was beyond belief honest and so very helpful! He told us that we were ordering too much and should reduce the size of each order by half!! And guess what? He was correct! We are so thankful to not have had to waste food! Rarely have I seen people be mindful of something like that and proactively respect the customer’s needs above profits. The Sunday buffets have enough variety without being overwhelming. We love to come here!
What an amazing place. The staff was so friendly it felt as if we’ve known each other forever. The owner came and greeted us and treated us as family. There is so much to say about the food. It was authentic and It was an experience. Flavorful and satisfying. I had the chicken biryani. The appetizers were filling and delicious. If you order a drink try the mango lassi. And ask for the bread basket. You won’t regret it. This was the best Indian restaurant I’ve tried. Great job!
Heavenly delicious meal..!!! We are vegetarians, so I can't speak for their non-veg dishes, but if these were this awesome, one would certainly have high hopes for all the dishes. We are over the moon happy to have a fabulous Indian restaurant that serves lip smaking food in our community. We would definitely order more from here and definitely would recommend it to anyone who loves Indian Flavors. Edited to add: we tried Avon Indian Grill after a long time. We tried it for a couple of times here and there, but only in case of emergencies, we didn't quite like their dishes before. Having a new owner (bought the restaurant just a few months ago), who cares dearly about customer's opinions and inputs, they really have revamped the taste of all of their dishes.
Good buffet with a good selection of food items. They keep rotating the dishes so that it's not the same dishes every time. The service is pretty good.
Good delicious food. Chicken tandoori, haryali chicken, and tandoori salmon awesome. Bhuna gost was good but dry with lots of oil. Dal tadka was delicious. Will try more dishes next time.
Very Good actually!Ordered couple of non veg and veg dishes.The mixed fried rice and chilli chicken is perfect in flavour blend and light.Paneer butter Masala tastes sweet and tangy and perfect accompaniment with the butter nun.We also tried Tandoori Shrimp and Drums of heaven ! cooked to perfection! Will definitely return back!
Good food helpful and attentive service. They were able to accommodate my dinner request even though it was not on the menu. Fairly quick service.
Updated: The restaurant is under new management and we tried their lunch buffet. The food was really good. The service is really good too , they do serve fresh food by the table also when it comes out of the kitchen. Totally worth a try. The fish was our favorite. I celebrated my birthday here and it was a good dining experience. Dahi puri and aloo puri was not that great! So skip it. Lemon rice was not cooked properly but on request they cooked it again which still somehow missed the lemon flavor in it . The tandoors and kababs was okay. Best part of the meal was the shrimp in the pineapple, we loved it and even went second time there for it. Overall good for one time visit!
Well situated in Avon with proximity from Farmington and Simsburry locations if you are looking for an authentic Indian cuisine experience. They have recently renovated and upgraded the facility. Great taste , warm hospitality, quick service and humble gesture will make it up for your visit.
After a 3 year hiatus I decided to give this Indian another try. I want to love it because its close to me but once again I am left disappointed by the lack of flavor other than a very forward tasting garlic and a not do great sauce texture. Indigo Indian Bistro in Manchester while double the distance will continue to be my go to for amazing Indian food. It's also a better price.
Food was ok. The Tikka masala: the tomate sauce was good but the chicken was hard and dry. The garlic naan bread was not cooked all the way and had absolutely no seasoning or flavor. Seemed like a precooked pita (overpriced). The samosa was good.
Very disappointed. I’ve eaten here multiple times over the last few years and was happy with it. This time ordered through Uber Eats and it showed up looking like it had sat for an hour. Maybe that was an Uber Eats problem so fine, I heated it up a bit. I had ordered the chicken 65 medium spicy and the garlic naan. The chicken tasted freezer burn and bland. Not even close to medium spicy. It was also very dry, including the sauce. The garlic naan was also bland. I’m so disappointed. It’s my favorite dish and I just don’t think I’ll go back. Giving 2 stars because I’ve been happy in the past and hate to go straight to 1 star but this was not worth even close to the $25 I spent.
0 ratings, one of the worst places to eat. Will never visit Even after requesting medium spicy, all ordered items were just bland and taste less. Hot and sour soup felt like tamarind paste with added vegetables. Gobi Manchurian worst. Final reply from Hotel person is *chef on holiday and not regular chef*... Why don't u close the shop if the chef not available. Freezing inside, they came up with excuse backdoor is open. What a horrible place.
