Best sushi in the Capitol District

Being a local to Saratoga springs I have tried many sushi places and this one is my all time favorite! Not only for food quality but the atmosphere is very comfortable and the staff is so welcoming. I have been here many times and we have gotten to know each other, evertime I walk in they great me with a smile crack open my favorite Japanese beer and already know what I usually order! There amazing to me and my boyfriend! We love it here !!!!

Wow! This place has some pretty delicious sushi! I highly recommend the Big Mac roll if you like spicy tuna. My daughter had the shrimp lo mein and she absolutely loved it, which is saying a LOT because she's a very picky 2-year-old. The Asian taco was an interesting twist with yummy textures and flavors. Definitely a must try!! The service was also wonderful! We will certainly be back!! So excited to have a decent sushi/asain restaurant on Ballston Spa!

Delish....I LOVE the Godzilla roll. We've been there about 5 times now. Crab Rangoon are perfect. Last night they had an issue where the Rangoon had frozen and didn't cook properly, but they bent over backwards trying to make it right. My boyfriend's daughter had shrimp lomein...the flavor was outstanding. The sushi is fresh and delicious. I'm so happy to have them in my neighborhood.....😊😊😊😊😊

We had dinner here the other night and we were very impressed with not only how well the inside had been re-done but the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The service was also excellent and it's so nice to have this as an option in Ballston Spa now. My friend mentioned it was the best general tso's chicken he's had in the area. They also make a great lychee martini!

Legend Sushi is a fantastic restaurant and a great addition to Ballston Spa! We are so spoiled by this place. Their Legend Salad is amazing, the Asian tacos are a favorite too. The rolls and sushi are great. I come here as often as I can with family, friends, and co-workers!

We went on a weekday for lunch and oh my goodness, worth every penny, and worth every minute it took to drive there. Food was fresh, high quality, well thought together wonderfulness. So so happy. Thank you so much.

Brand new Asian bistro, caring staff and great atmosphere. The menu offers a wide variety of traditional delicious Asian main courses. I also ordered the appetizer called’ Waikiki scallop ‘from sushi ,It’s refreshing. I’d like to visit the place again, bring your family or friends, and DO try the spicy mama roll and mango tango roll.

I have now eaten from this restaurant at least a handful of times and I have never been disappointed! Their hibatchi is hands down the best around! I work in Saratoga and live north. I will drive to Ballston Spa for Legend Sushi before I order from any of the Saratoga places again. The Asian menu is small, but we'll prepared and the sushi/sashimi is so very fresh!

I've been here on multiple occasions and have always had a fantastic experience. The food is delicious and it has never been mediocre. We always leave full and satisfied.

My brother Gary and I went in this evening we had a variety of Special Rolls .The Phoenix, The Legend, Mango Tango, and Godzilla they were absolutely fabulous and the display and service was outstanding We shall be back.

I am so happy that we finally have an amazing sushi 🍣 🍱 place close to home. So many businesses have come and gone from this location. We love being able to support local businesses and this is one we will definitely be frequenting. Sometimes, especially in all-you-can-eat sushi places, the sushi is okay, good, bur it can be hard to detect a variation of flavors between different rolls. The sushi at Legend Sushi is truly delicious, melt in your mouth buttery, great variety and interesting rolls. I loved the mini tacos that they gave us, on the house. They are polite, friendly, and quick. I can’t wait for my next Legend sushi meal. Delicious! Highly recommended.

We’ve been ordering takeout and dining in here since they opened! Their sushi is top notch and the value is like non other- huge quality pieces of fish for their sushi and sushi rolls at less than most prices of other places around the area. Always super friendly service too. I’m so happy we have this gem like this place right around the corner.

Stopped in for a late lunch, we were the only ones there. Staff was speedy and very friendly. I had a bento lunch special. Yummy!! We had never been here before, glad we found them!

Beauty beast and Lobster sushi was great.

We just finished lunch at this amazing addition to Ballston Spa. The interior of this space has been completely renovated and is now bright, clean and spacious. Lovely cello music played in the background. Our lunch included a scrumptious mango and cucumber salad on the house! The Black Jack special roll and the eel avocado roll were especially delicious. Our server was attentive and the manager came over to introduce herself personally. We will definitely be back!

We went there Saturday night for a birthday celebration with a large group of women. The sushi was outstanding and so fresh. Service was very friendly and efficient. I had the Phoenix and Legend roll, it was amazing. Highly recommend traveling into Ballston Spa for a sushi treat... but if you have someone that does not like sushi their menu has other choices that are exceptional, large array on the menu!

My family went out for dinner tonight and we had a very nice meal. The waitress was very pleasant and efficient. She took our order and a few minutes later the soup and salad were out. About the time they were done the main course came. I had a steak hibachi dinner. It came out nice and rare, just as I ordered.

Slow weekday night, but the server was attentive, and the food was good, can't complain. I was initially skeptical of a good sushi place so far inland, but alas the roll I ordered had no 'fishy' smell that I could pick up, and tasted great! Will definitely come back here when I am in the area.

This place is great. It's so good and consistently good. We just got a Christmas Eve sushi and Chinese feast and they gave everyone a nice like bottle of saki with dinners. Nice friendly people too.

Passing thru Ballston Spa and really not expecting to find any vegan food. We drove by Legend Sushi and stopped. We were greeted by very friendly staff who said they could help us with a vegan meal. We settled on edamame and a combination noodle plate and miso soup, which they made into a very large soup for us. It was great, tasty and filling. The place was very clean, the staff very friendly and the food delicious. This place is new, but should do very well if they treat everyone like this.

Food was amazing. Great selection of food . You don't have to get sushi but my daughter and I did and it was very delicious! Our waitress was very good and made sure we were taken care of. Would definitely recommend this to any one .

Awesome place! I have eaten here multiple times in the restaurant and picked up food many times as well and it’s always been amazing. I would recommend this restaurant to not only people who like sushi but to anyone because they have amazing non sushi menu items as well as great rolls and high quality sashimi. I’ve never once had a bad experience here in any regard, staff, food, and atmosphere are all awesome!

Across from The Factory - used to be the DLine Pub. Not much to look at on the outside by inside is super clean and nicely appointed. Food is outstanding! Highly recommend recommend Lunch Box. Pick your own and beautifully presented - plenty of food for less than $12. A mix of Japanese, Chinese and Thai cuisine. A hidden gem!

Legend sushi bistro is definitely an undiscovered gem of Saratoga/Ballston Spa. Service was great and food was even better. Sushi was fresh and high quality, hibachi dinners were very good. This place deserves some more traffic

An amazing sushi bar with an amazing tone and mood! I just ate at the new establishment and as soon as I walked in I felt comfortable and free, like all the stress in life left. When you walk in you get a sleep that welcomes you and says get ready for an amazing night and amazing food. It’s small but it has a huge solution. I love sushi and I’m not near any restaurants until now. I felt amazing and happy also excited, the service was amazing they waitress that served me my food was kind and had an amazing smile. The appetizers were outstanding I loved the salad with the sweet yellow sauce🤤. It took about 25-35 minutes for our food to come out I was surprised because of how fast it was compared to other restaurants who take an hour. I ordered the titanic and my goodness it was fantastic. The rolls were amazing. They’re warm and inviting, I was amazed at how good they were! After the main coarse I had fried ice cream to finish my experience. When I left I had to grab a menu because there is no way I’m not gonna eat there again! I highly recommended you go here because it will be unforgettable.

Been there three times. Always a good experience. Sushi always seems fresh. They're happy to make additions that aren't on the menu (avocado cucumber roll, Yellowtail roll with jalapeño). We definitely don't mind going out of our way whenever down that way.

First time here, very clean and pleasant atmosphere and was greeted/seated immediately! We ordered a bunch of sushi rolls along with our food and it all came out at a perfect pace. All sushi was amazing, recommend the Legend roll and the Hollywood roll, and I got the General Tso's chicken which was piping hot and delicious! Fried cheesecake and the green tea ice cream are must haves. Waitress was very kind and we will hopefully be back soon!

Customer service was excellent. Food was excellent. Very well could be the best Asian Bistro in the capital district without being expensive. Highly recommend the Steak Hibachi. Emily was our server every time and is always doing an exceptional job.

This place is always far above average. I've gone many times for the past two years and always have such a great time! It's a fantastic date spot, quick lunch spot, everything spot! The drinks are great and the menu has something for everyone. There are many great options for people that don't do sushi, so it's good to bring my mom in law here! I've been coming here for a while, and really enjoying everything about the place, food, and staff. I just called 5 minutes before they open, and they answered and let me place a take out order! They're so nice!

Legendarily Good. Bit of a last minute pick of local for my Friday dinner meal, as my prior pick turned out to be a dud. But I think this was the better choice overall anyways. Ordered online using their MealKeyway service, which was pretty simple, though I did have to hand over my phone number to the service which will do what it wants with it. Oh well. Went with an order of the Chicken Karaage, a Shrimp Tempura Roll, and the King Kong Roll. Coming to a little over $34, which if you know good sushi is a pretty reasonable price. Pickup was simple, paid for my bag of goodies and I was on my way. Back home, which is a pretty decent drive, the prepared items were all still warm. The packing was quite well done. Up first I tried the Karaage, a dish I hear a lot about, and I think it lost a lot of the crispiness during my drive being sealed up like it was. Still, it had a good meaty texture and the accompanying sauce was sweet, tangy, and a little spicy. Very nice. Of course the sushi was the big deal, and boy was it ever tasty! The shrimp, one of my favorite rolls, was a solid start. Crispy and savory shrimp interior, soft and sticky rice exterior. Always a good time. The King Kong was next and the one I was more unsure of, but boy did it hit the spot! Fried crab, cream cheese, with the eel and avocado exterior was such a good matchup. Normally it does include hot sauce topping, but I'm not a fan of the stuff so I had them forgo the inclusion which they followed to a T. Best part was I didn't feel overly full by the end, just fully satisfied. Overall, acceptable price, amazing sushi rolls, but fried food that was not as crispy as I would have liked. Solid 4.5 out of 5.

Legend Sushi is so amazing! The food is wonderful but the service is even better! I had made an order on Grubhub an hour and a half before close but no drivers were available to pick up my order. I was going to cut my losses when I believe the owner called me and said that if I could pay over the phone someone there would be able to deliver it to me! As someone who’s worked in food service for many years I deeply understand the frustration of having that last order come in when all you want to do is pack up and go home. The fact that these guys went out of their way to get me my meal is absolutely amazing! 5 stars all around and next time I’ll make sure to order with DoorDash instead <3

I'm giving 5 stars because this was not the fault of Legends. I've ordered pick-up and eaten there, and love it. I am sick and ordered a Philadelphia roll and chicken fried rice via Uber Eats. The delivery was over 30 minutes past the original "end time," so I wouldn't have ordered if I knew my food would be sitting around for almost an hour. The Philadelphia Roll has raw fish and cream cheese. Because the chicken fried rice is a hot dish, my sushi was luke warm and the cream cheese was melted. The chicken fried rice was also luke warm, which it's supposed to be hot. Both dishes were inedible and Uber Eats makes it SO difficult to make any complaints and I refuse to give Legends a poor review due to Uber Eats' issues. But I do want to state that I would NOT order food through Uber Eats if you want the high quality food that Legends serves.

Best sushi in town. We got sushi, pad thai, miso and karaage. All were delicious. Prices are reasonable. There's plenty of parking in the back. Staff was accomodating, suggested thier best sellers and food came out fast.

I am real estate agent and I am always on the go and sometimes it’s hard to have my meals and eating out every day can be quit expensive, so since I found this place I made it my go to, I feel like I eat healthy and at very reasonable price. They have a lunch special where you can get 2 rolls and a miso soup or salad for 10 bucks!!! Isn’t that amazing!?!? Plus the food is absolutely delicious. Service is fast, the staff is kind and the sushi is really fresh. Check it out!!

Haven't had something I don't like while trying a new thing every time. We needed a good sushi spot in Bspa and you guys delivered. Basil chicken is out of this world. Big, meaty pieces of real chicken. The sauce was thick and plentiful, clinging to the veggies nicely. Even the oyster mushrooms were good. My Mom ate them and she doesn't even like shrooms! See that roll oozing green slime? That's the Hollywood roll and it's delicious 👍

Legend Sushi Bistro is fantastic! The establishment is very clean and sanitary. The customer service is absolutely wonderful. They have excellent food options and the prices are very reasonable. The ambiance of this restaurant is very relaxing. They offer take-out, dine-in and delivery. I ordered my food to go from the bar and enjoyed a couple beers while I waited. I highly recommend Legend Sushi Bistro if you’re in Ballston Spa. I will be back!

Solid sushi place, esp for upstate NY. Don't expect NYC level sushi but it's solid and satisfying.

My son enjoyed the hibachi experience last time around so thought I take him again. I did some research between yelp and Google to find some Hibachi places around saratoga County and eliminared the hibachi restaurants that I had been to before, I ended up narrowing it down to 2 restaurants to go to this weekend. We decided to go with Legends as I have always had a positive experience dining in restaurants located in Ballston Spa. We went in, got seated, and I ask the host.....where is the hibachi grill...I just see a table....she said they offer hibachi food but not on the grill. I was disappointed but learnt something new, hibachi doesn't just mean it needs to be Cooked in front of you. Went outside, thought about it and went back in to go try their lunch specials. The food was good but I cut a star for not being able to give my son his hibachi experience. We ordered general Tso chicken, curry chicken and sushi and sashimi combo. Each lunch box came with a soup or a salad, rice, California roll and spring roll (can be replaced with goyza, shumai or edemame). I liked my curry chicken. My son his general tsos and my brother his sushi. Overall the service, food was good. The restaurant is in a strange location.....a border between commercial space and residential space.....and has ample parking. With valentines day coming up...they has some specials.

Waitress forgot a part of our order we did get it eventually but ended up taking it with us not eating it there had the next day for lunch at work it was delicious atmosphere was eh

We had the steak / lobster Hibachi and steak / chicken hibachi for take out. When we got home they only gave us the steak / lobster which had very little lobster in it and then only gave us steak for what should have been steak / chicken. Meanwhile we paid for the combination ...however the food that we did get was good, the salad was fresh, the soup was ok, the fried rice was not the best I've ever had but decent for a small town venue. BS is lucky to have a restaurant like this. Any place else like Albany or another big city I would would give three stars but based on its location and it's cleanliness I gave them 4 stars. We will return and give them another chance and update as necessary.

This is our quick easy go-to for hibachi and sushi. It's right down the road and the food is super delicious. Their staff seems nice although we typically get take out so... But from what little interaction I do have with them, it's always pleasant and knowledgeable. I wish their portions (at least for take out) were a little bigger for the price, but thats literally the only "complaint" I have lol Their hibachi is delicious, everything in it! From the soup to the main course, delicious! And every sushi roll we've eaten has been super good! There's not been one we've not liked.

I really liked the veg hibachi's flavor - a little oily but still good - would definitely order again. Veggie gyoza was odd and had a strange taste. Sweet potato tempura roll was decent - little too much rice. California roll was standard. Definitely looking to go again and try a few other things on the menu!

Good service and good food. Very clean 👍I enjoyed the miso soup, Indian pancake and Philly Roll. I am not a fan of the Legend Roll, it was a texture issue fo rme, the tuna and salmon was like puree. The flavors were good but the texture threw me off, I like my fish by the piece. This was my 1st time and I will be back for sashimi and other dishes. Would recommend 👌

Excellent food choices and presentations. Original waitress had difficulty understanding our English but was helped by another. Comfortable setting and no loud groups present, so it was a plus experience for our 2nd visit.

I ordered from here 2x via DoorDash, so I can't say anything about what it was like inside. Overall, I liked the food and most likely will order again. Eel avocado rolls - Delicious Thai iced tea - It was delivered inside of a paper bag. Didn't spill or anything, but at first, I wasn't sure if it actually came in the order. Was delicious, so no complaints there. White rice/teriyaki sauce on the side - Can't really go wrong there, though a dollar for a little bit of sauce that wasn't even enough for the rice seems a bit overpriced. Otherwise, it was tasty. Harumaki/spring rolls - Overpriced considering that there were only 2 small rolls. Other restaurants will give you 4 for the same price. They arrived soggy and tasted odd. I'm not sure if it was because I ordered the food later in the day or not, but they weren't very good. Pad thai - I guess it was my mistake to order pad thai from a sushi place. It was some of the worst pad thai I've had. Couldn't even finish it.

The first time I ordered to go food a few weeks back, it was during a busy time and it was excellent. I ordered to go food at 2:30 in the afternoon, picked it up at 3:00 because they said it be 30 minutes. There were no cars in the parking lot, I only ordered 2 rolls and a soup. The sushi was room temperature, the lobster roll I ordered was way over cooked and basically couldn't eat it. I may return but not for a while. The sushi appeared as if it was made the day prior.

Reviewing take out at 6:20pm: it was not that good and i kind of feel like it might make me sick. Just a hunch. The shrimp tempura tasted old and kind of like there were fresh herbs in it, Like thyme and oregano, which was….different. The soy sauce was overly salty i dont understand why, the steamed dumplings were also very salty. I just dont know why it was so bad, when the reviews say such good things. Maybe in house food is better.

Food was very good but very over price in my opinion as well, especially since I spent the night on the toilet after eating the meal I had from takeout! Very friendly staff! Expect to spend at least $35 on 2 Sushi orders. 🍣

The service was excellent, beautiful place and the food looked and tasted amazing however I've never been soo sick in my entire life.i had lunch there around noon and was sick and puking from about 3pm to 3am. And have to miss a day of work because of it. No bueno...

Service is great, but the food was mediocre. The sushi is elaborately decorated grocery store fare, and everything comes in so much sauce, you need to bring a mask and snorkel to find it. Decor and atmosphere is less traditional and more 90's disco. I'd recommend it if the McDonald's is closed.

When Legend Sushi first opened in Ballston Spa the food was so fresh and delicious! I would order about once a week or so. Their lunch special at least then was super affordable and again, delicious. I haven’t ordered in quite a while and I decided to order two of my favorites off the menu tonight. The spicy tuna roll and the beef lo mien. While the price was reasonable the quality of food has gone down significantly since I last ate there. Pretty upsetting because I agreed to the price expecting to get the fresh delicious food I was used to!

Honestly, with 4.8 stars I came expecting a lot and I was very disappointed. I never got my water glass refilled, and I and I had to wave to get the waiters attention to get a drink. The food was average, but I felt like it was too much for what it was. We won't be coming back.

They have underage kids serving alcohol. They are disrespectful to their staff every time I have been there, verbally and physically. Food is okay but seeing and hearing how the management acts is just sad for a family owned business. I also have seen adult workers take tips for themselves from the waitresses who rightfully earned those tips from serving and taking care of the customers on their own. No kid should have to work there with the conditions and disrespect they are given. Being a good business doesn’t just come from having good food, it also means you treat your staff equally and respectfully with or without customers in the restaurant.

First and last time trying this place! Nothing tasted or looked fresh! Avocados were browning spicy yellow tail smelled and tasted old and rancid. Yellow tail roll fish was mushy and on the verge of turning. Iceberg lettuce on salads! And ginger dressing was too sweet and also tasted old. I will not be patronizing this place again. Prices too high also!
