Ampersea Restaurant

2/14/26 the crispy Brussels and the braised beef tortellini were delicious! There are so many good looking dishes on the menu I have to come back and try them. We also enjoyed the atmosphere it was perfect for date night.

I just spent my 23rd Birthday here! The food was amazing; the service was spectacular! The oysters tasted so fresh and clean. The seafood dip was so good, hot, cheesy and full of seafood. I had the lobster roll and it was so buttery and good. My parents had the duck and the short ribs also amazing.I especially enjoyed the manager Joey. He made my birthday feel special and unforgettable!

What a lovely, perfect lunch, with a beautiful view of the Fells Point harbor! We were greeted by the very personable manager, Joey, and shown to an excellent outside table. The minute we sat down, the deck began filling up with people eager to enjoy lunch in a perfect spot. Our waitress, Cassidy, helped us choose a magnificent selection of dishes, from the Nova Scotia oysters and fried green tomatoes, to the lobster roll, shrimp and crab club, and crabcake sandwiches. We even had a terrific pair of desserts (3-layer chocolate cake and cheesecake with berries). Everything about this meal was perfect—the view, the service, the conversation with our server and other diners, and the precious sparrows looking out over the water. Thank you, Joey and Cassidy, for a wonderful afternoon in Baltimore.

We had an incredible time at Ampersea at Baltimore’s Harbor! We wanted a spot with some seafood and veggie options for both of us and were so pleasantly impressed with Ampersea’s options. The views of the harbor were also so beautiful even in the rain/overcast! Our server Malik was very attentive and upon his recommendation, we thoroughly enjoyed the cream of crab soup. We also got fried green tomatoes (so crispy! With heavenly cheese mousse!), salmon (so tender and well paired with the rice), and mushrooms risotto (so cheesy with the parmesan and not too overwhelming with the mushrooms which was a pleasant surprise). We also loved and appreciated the inexpensive mocktail options! The manager, Joey, also was so kind to stop and say hello and make sure we were well taken care of. We saw him working around the restaurant and appreciated the fact that he still took the time to say hello, check in, and say goodbye to us! This was such a charming location with great food, made memorable by the kind and attentive staff. We will definitely be coming back and recommending it to folks!

Sen. Sation. Al. Absolutely sensational The manager Joey and his staff NAILED it. The short rib was heaven sent. The wine was decadent. And the churos...... the CHUROS wete the absolute best I've ever had in my life! 10/10 in my book. Was my first but Absolutely not my last time here.

I chose to dine here for last-minute birthday plans and it was such a great decision. They were offering a Christmas Eve five-course prix fixe menu for $75, with the option to order from the regular dinner menu as well. I hadn’t been in a while, but the restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays and had a lively atmosphere. Despite how busy it was, service was efficient, the food was outstanding, and the staff was truly on point. The manager, Joey, went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience, even taking the time to help me get the perfect birthday photo. I’m so glad I decided to revisit Ampersea. I can’t wait for warmer weather so I can return to enjoy a bite and a drink out on the deck overlooking the water.

Impromptu date with my sis. Joey was an amazing host, beautiful energy and awesome photographer!!! I love the ambiance and winter wonderland theme was just lovely! Our waitress (can't remember her name) she gave us great recommendations. The duck was cooked perfectly and never knew I would like venison until tonight. What a great way to start New Year. Also never knew seafood bruschetta existed but I do now. Brussel sprouts were delightful! Ready for my next outing back. ❤️🥰😍

This Thanksgiving was our first time celebrating outside of home, and Ampersea made it unforgettable. My wife, son, and I were welcomed with warmth from the moment we arrived. The food was exceptional every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor, making the holiday feel both special and comforting. Our service was equally outstanding. Joey went above and beyond to make sure our experience was memorable, attentive without ever being intrusive, and genuinely kind. His care and professionalism turned what could have been a difficult transition away from our usual family traditions into a joyful new memory we’ll always cherish. Ampersea delivered not just a meal, but an experience. We’re grateful for the hospitality and will absolutely be back.

I ate at ampersea tonight for my birthday, the food was absolutely delicious and the ambiance was very inviting. My server was very attentive and patient with my group of friends throughout my whole stay. The manager on duty, named Joey was super funny and considerate, as he took pictures of us and complimented our outfits. This restaurant is a MUST and I will definitely be coming back!

Amazing experience at Ampersea tonight. The espresso martini was on point. I had the duck. My friend had scallops. Both excellent. Our waiter, Godfrey, was fantastic! Service was amazing. I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Ampersea! From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. Joey was absolutely fantastic - setting us up at a table with an amazing view and checking on us multiple times during our visit. He offered to take our coats after we were seated and then offered to take pictures of us when we were on our way out. Ampersea has definitely been the most positive experience we have had during our trip. I can honestly say that Joey is the sole reason we cannot wait to come back to enjoy a meal and a drink (or 2, or 3 haha) once the weather is nicer! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!

Went on New Year’s Eve. We had a great time. The manager Joey was very friendly and welcoming. The food was great. However, the portion size was too small compared to the price.

We loved Ampersea! It was easy to make a reservation an hour or so beforehand, and the service was fantastic! We were in the mood for a smattering of random appetizers, and they were all delicious. Notable were the crispy brussel sprouts and seafood bruschetta (pictured). We were very satisfied with the mocktail selection, and the ability to eat right on the water! Seriously, great nod to service at this restaurant. Our wait staff was awesome. You guys are doing it right!

So beautiful and aesthetic. The scenery was amazing, and great for insta pics. The food was also good quality and worth the prices. I was so full because the one meal came with a lot. Definitely the best place to go for your birthday dinner—whether it’s inside or outside. Joey the manager was also such a kind soul, amazing photographer, and great comedian. Went to Ampersea last night it was amazing ! Joey the manager made the whole thing a special experience. The food was amazing and our waiter Malik was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of at the table . I will definitely be back again !

Joey is amazing!!!! I found this restaurant on tiktok and decided to give it a try. The atmosphere was so nice and inviting. Outside seating offers a beautiful view of the water but it is equally beautiful on the inside. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable. Food and drinks were great. (I ordered the Spicy Rosa Pasta). The manager (Joey) was extremely nice and engaging, he even offered to take our photos. Overall I would absolutely recommend Ampersea, as I myself plan on going back soon.

Our waitress Cassidy was so kind and generous — I loved talking to her! The manager, Joey, was absolutely spectacular. He even took pictures for me and my friends, and they came out so lovely. The food was great — I personally had the crab cake and salad, and mmm I would definitely get that again! Overall, such a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!

We had a family dinner for my Cousin's birthday. We were greeted by the wonderful friendly host named Joey. He took care of us and checked to make sure we were good throughout the evening. We also had a great server, Malik. He was very kind and courteous. To top it off the food was delicious. Overall our entire experience was outstanding!

We celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary at Ampersea and it was everything we hoped for...romantic, welcoming, and delicious. From the moment we arrived, the service was top tier. Joey, the manager, set the tone with excellent hospitality, and our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. The food was outstanding! We shared the pretzel crab dip to start, then enjoyed the stuffed seafood lasagna and a perfectly seasoned crab cake. Every bite was fresh and flavorful, truly showcasing the best of Baltimore dining. The atmosphere was just what we wanted...intimate yet lively, with a beautiful waterfront vibe that made our evening extra special (even with kids). Ampersea delivered on food, service, and experience, making our anniversary one to remember. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a romantic dinner or simply a top-notch meal in the city.

My partner and I went for date night on a Saturday. Grace was our waitress and the service was perfect in addition to the ambiance. She made great recommendations and did not steer us wrong. We had the crab dip with pretzel, seafood lasagna, and beef short rib. All of the servings were more than enough. But the cherry on top was the manager, Joey. He went above and beyond and made the experience memorable. We will definitely be coming back.

Mom and I came from Philly for the weekend. My mom's birthday is coming up and I also wanted to attend the Brandy & Monica concert. Joey, the manager was a joy. He took pictures for my mom and I. I cannot say anything bad about this place. From the ambience to the food to the service, everything was exceptional. The manager Joey was amazing and he took the best photos of my bf and I after our dinner! We will definitely be back for brunch. It was a little humid but I'm excited for a cooler day for the outdoor seating overlooking the harbor. Just a perfect setting with perfect food. Definitely check this place out!

My family and I dined at Ampersea last night 8/20 for my daughter’s birthday. We were greeted by Joey, a manager, whom directed us to our seats. Which he made sure we had the best seats by the water of course. The service was beyond amazing. The food was 10/10 but an honorable mention goes to the Shrimp and Crab dip w/the pretzel. I’ve had crab dip around the city at plenty of restaurants but this is EASILY the best I’ve had. While dining Joey came and checked on us multiple times. This guy is truly the best! He made our experience like no other and for that I will always patronize Ampersea. Our waitress Kee Kee was so warm as well. I can’t wait to bring my mom here when she visits! Ampersea you have a returning customer in me!

First time here on our Anniv and what a great decision. From the welcome at our arrival to our seating right on the deck, we knew we made the right decision. Then we met Joey the manager and what a personality and great host. His passion and enegy for what he does shows. Our server Maliq was also excellent. Truly a pleasure and we will be back

Food and views! The food was amazing. We had the mussels, spicy roasted pasta, crab pretzel, and churros for desert. The view of the water was the icing on the cake. The manager, Joey, made sure we had a great experience and he did not disappoint. We will definitely visit again when we’re in the area.

It was my first time visiting, and I had a wonderful experience. Joey the manager ensured that my partner and I had an excellent date. Joey was welcoming and friendly, which made our date even more special. The food was very delicious, too. I also appreciated that they offered a mocktail menu because I do not consume alcohol.

I chose Ampersea specifically for a waterfront lunch option while visiting Baltimore. It was only about a 10-minute walk from our hotel, and we were seated quickly with a nice outdoor table, which was a great start. The drink menu, however, was surprisingly limited—and there were no prices listed, which felt inconsistent and a bit off-putting. We ended up skipping drinks altogether because of that. The main reason for my three-star rating is the service. Our server was inattentive from the moment our food arrived—she didn’t deliver it herself and never came back to check on us. We waited over 20 minutes for water refills, and my soda (which I paid extra for) was never refilled once. Meanwhile, she repeatedly checked on the three tables in front of us but skipped ours every time. When I finally asked for ketchup, I was met with an eye roll, which was disappointing since there weren’t any condiments on the table to begin with. The food itself was good. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and really enjoyed it—the bun was crisp and well done. My husband’s crabcake sandwich was also excellent, so the kitchen deserves credit for that. When it came time to pay, we had to ask for the check three times. To make matters worse, there was an automatic 18% gratuity added that wasn’t listed anywhere on the menu. That explained a lot about the lack of effort from our server. We ended up speaking with the owner, who was kind, apologized, and removed the automatic gratuity. While I appreciated the owner’s response and the food quality, the service and lack of transparency left a bad impression. There are plenty of better waterfront dining options in Baltimore—I won’t be returning to Ampersea again.

For whatever reason, I expected a more elevated experience. Maybe it was the pics in their website and Google but i definitely got the “this is IG/this is reality” vibe when I walked in. Or maybe because we drove all the way from Delaware for our first Baltimore date night and I had higher expectations. Sigh. I came dressed up too cause I thought it was a casually upscale type place. But that thought quickly diminished when I walked in. No upscale vibes…but lots of flip flops! lol. Now I know the restaurant can’t help what type of footwear people have on, but I’m just trying to give you an idea of the vibe on a Saturday night. We chose to sit outside (the inside is small) but that quickly turned into dismay: the tables were…hum…how do I describe them…dingy? Old? Put it this way, it took away from the experience. I was particularly disappointed now. Not to mention my chair was on uneven pavement so I kept rocking back and forth. Then there was the trash on the ledge. Why someone left it there…I don’t know. Why someone at the restaurant didn’t throw it away…I don’t know. But another disappointment. I got lobster ravioli with was good but barely warm. The service was unmemorable so I guess that means it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. This is definitely a one and done place. I do not recommend for date night if you don’t live locally.
