I’ve never had any issues with this restaurant—it's a great place to hang out with friends or family. The chefs and staff deliver top notch service, and the food is well prepared and delicious. The portions are generous, making it well worth the price!

We were late getting to the restaurant and unfortunately we’re “those customers” who drank and ate and were the last one out of the building. The sushi chef was amazing, our waiter was amazing, the sushi was amazing. This restaurant gets a 10/10 from me for service and quality of food. The sushi chef served his complementary specialty as we sat down. The server was attentive and friendly. I would eat here every day if I lived near by.

Spent a evening with my husband on a Friday night. We were seated rather quickly with a birthday group. The chef was funny and pleasant. The food and sushi was very tasty.

From the moment I stepped into Kobe's, I knew I was in for an exceptional dining experience. This wasn't just another hibachi restaurant; it was a meticulously crafted performance of culinary artistry, where flavor and entertainment danced in perfect harmony. Let's begin with the heart of any hibachi experience: the food. It's rare to encounter a restaurant where every element of a dish resonates with such profound flavor, but they effortlessly achieved this. The noodles, a staple of hibachi cuisine, were far from ordinary. They were infused with a rich, savory depth that hinted at expertly balanced seasonings and a masterful understanding of umami. Similarly, the rice, often an afterthought, was a revelation – fluffy, flavorful, and perfectly complementing the other ingredients. The meat, the centerpiece of the meal, was nothing short of sublime. Tender, fresh, and cooked to absolute perfection, each bite melted in my mouth. The quality of the ingredients was evident, and the chef's skill in handling them was undeniable. It was clear that they prioritize sourcing top-tier ingredients, a commitment that shone through in every morsel. Beyond the exceptional food, the performance was a delight. The chef, a true showman, possessed a natural charisma that captivated the entire table. Their deft handling of the knives, the playful banter, and the impressive culinary tricks created an atmosphere of excitement and engagement. This wasn't just a meal; it was an interactive experience that left everyone smiling. Adding to the overall positive impression was the friendly and charismatic chef. They interacted with each guest, making everyone feel welcome and ensuring a personalized experience. The genuine warmth and enthusiasm they exuded enhanced the enjoyment of the entire evening. Furthermore, the lack of a wait time for a grill was a significant advantage. In a world where dining out often involves lengthy delays, they offered a seamless and efficient experience. We were seated promptly and the show began without delay, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the moment. Finally, the drinks were a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. Powerful, delicious, and expertly crafted, they provided the perfect accompaniment to the flavorful meal. In conclusion, Kobe's transcends the typical hibachi experience. It's a culinary destination where exceptional food, captivating entertainment, and genuine hospitality converge. From the flavorful noodles and rice to the tender meat and the charismatic chef, every aspect of the meal was executed with precision and passion. This is a restaurant I will undoubtedly return to, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a truly memorable dining experience. A well-deserved 5 stars.

This was an all around 5 star restaurant! Our chef was entertaining and fun. Our server, Demarion, was on top of it! He even helped with our daughter who has a food sensitivity and had her food specially cooked so she could enjoy dinner with us.

I love Kobe’s Japanese Steak & Seafood. They are always pleasant and know how to make a great experience with cooking for a family. The food and drinks are always on point and they know how to put on a great show. They even toss food in the air to see if you can catch it. My family had a blast. This wasn’t our first visit and definitely won’t be our last. Follow other reviews @ IG: eat_n_critique.

Great Hibachi restaurants for date night, work gatherings Or friends birthday. They only accept parties of 10 or less so be mindful of that. Other than party restrictions, the food is good and the staff moves pretty swiftly. Chef Sam is pretty cool!

It was a Tuesday at 11am opening time, and I was grateful to get a table all to myself. The Parking for My Tractor-trailer was decent enough, being that it was early enough to take up a lot of car spaces. The food was freshly made in front of me, which is why I love this place. I believe the Chicken and Shrimp Teriyaki was Thirty-five dollars, and after tax and tip, I rounded up to Fifty Dollars. The Food Portion was too much for me to handle.

Friday night and the restaurant was super crowded. We found a couple of seats at the sushi bar, which made for a perfect experience. The service was excellent, the fish was fresh and delicious, and we didn't have to deal with the raucousness of the hibachi area.

Went to Kobe for my birthday dinner and didn't have a long wait (but it was Sunday). The chef Ian put on a good show. Gave really nice portion sizes, I couldn't even eat all my food. It was a perfect way to end my birthday!

If you’re looking for an exceptional dining experience in the MDV area, Kobe Steak House is hands down the best place I’ve ever been. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm, friendly service that immediately made me feel welcomed. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between elegant and comfortable, making it ideal for a casual dinner, a family outing, or a special celebration. The food here is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish I tried was full of flavor, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. The sushi is some of the best I’ve ever had—each roll is crafted with precision, and the fish is incredibly fresh. From classic favorites to more creative specialty rolls, there’s something to satisfy every palate. The attention to detail is evident in every bite, and it’s clear the chefs take great pride in their work. The hibachi experience is equally unforgettable. Watching the chefs prepare the food right at the table is both entertaining and impressive. The skill, timing, and showmanship add an extra layer of excitement to the meal, making it not just about eating but about enjoying the whole experience. The meats and seafood are cooked perfectly, seasoned just right, and complemented by flavorful fried rice and vegetables. It’s an interactive and fun way to enjoy a meal with friends or family. One thing that sets Kobe Steak House apart is the consistency. Every time I visit, the food, service, and overall experience are consistently excellent. The staff is attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, always ready to offer recommendations or ensure that everything is just right. The ambiance, combined with the delicious food, makes it a place you’ll want to return to again and again. Whether you’re a sushi lover, a fan of hibachi, or simply looking for a high-quality dining experience in the MDV area, Kobe Steak House is the perfect choice. It combines top-notch ingredients, skilled preparation, and exceptional service into a complete dining experience. I can confidently say it’s the best restaurant I’ve been to in the area, and I can’t wait to come back to enjoy more of their incredible dishes. If you want unforgettable food, great sushi, and an entertaining hibachi experience, don’t miss Kobe Steak House—it’s truly the best in the MDV area.

It was a busy place, the lights were overly dim, the food tasted great and the chefs prepared the proteins and vegetables in front of you. It was a nice experience, great for family gatherings or birthday celebrations. They also allow you take your leftovers. I would recommend.

I’m sitting in a Hibachi restaurant in Anaheim CA (possibly the worst among Hibachi Steakhouses) realizing how blessed we are to have Kobe’s Steak House in Maryland. I am writing this review because I feel I have not fully appreciated what we have. You know it has to be serious for me to stop what I’m doing and write this. My Go-to meal at Kobe’s is the Filet (medium), Lobster & Shrimp (in place of scallops) combo with a double salad. I go with fried rice & vegetables minus the mushrooms. But while I swap out the scallops, I believe their scallops are among the best. At the unnamed restaurant, the salad dressing and sauces and scallops were borderline nasty and I had to ask that my meats be seasoned. Even my worst experience at Kobe’s was awesome compared to this. I wish the Kobe experience was standard among Hibachi Steakhouses.

EVERYTHING was good. I cannot express exactly how good, everything was. Except the grill chef, kept "missing my mouth", with the shrimp😄 ! However, that's a small thing; since it's more or less, for showmanship.

We stopped by for some sushi before going to the movies. We were seated immediately at the sushi bar. Enjoyed the a few sushi selections and a roll. Great chefs and service.

Nice time sushi was really tasty. Service was great but soon as the chef was done cooking, she brought over boxes. Let people have time to eat and enjoy without feeling rushed out.

The hibachi filet with fried rice is my go-to. I'm allergic to mushrooms and shellfish and they accommodate me by cooking my food in the back. It usually means I get my whole meal first! They have a nice sushi area in the front with a bar. The shows are always fun and the drinks are good. I love the mochi dessert. My only complaint is that the bathrooms are always dirty and messy. They also have a wall of shame by the bathroom of the people who dip and dine. It feels a little tacky in a nice restaurant.

Overall experience was good. What really drives the experience is the people you're seated with and the chef. If you've never been to a Hibachi place, then you'll understand once you visit. There's an option to sit at the front of the restaurant with "normal" dining experience or you're seated at the table often times with strangers and a personal chef comes out and prepares the food in front of you as seen in the photos. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics of my finished food because I was HUNGRY and the food was really good. Portion sizes are huge so you'll more than likely take a to go box, unless you're greedy like me and you're determined to finish it all in one sitting. Our chef was pretty chill. Some are over the top with their presentation and interactions. They almost ways do a bit where they toss a piece of cooked shrimp towards you to see if you can catch it in your mouth. I typically opt out because I don't want to look like a dolphin with two left flippers trying to catch it and it miss and it hits me in the eye or something 😫. Anyway, this place was satisfying and I'll probably go back.

Hey family I finally went to Kobe Japanese Steak & Sushi The restaurant's nice , clean and customer friendly. This time we had carry out the meals were good but our salmon was slightly overcook otherwise it was ok

I was pleasantly surprised to to find that though real Kobe beef is not served this place is worth a visit. The bartender Alley poured a great shot, and the food was plentiful and very tasty. I was unable to give the place five stars because there is no real Kobe beef (which is awesome) on the menu.

Enjoyed the experience and they made my son's birthday celebration memorable for him! It was a nice evening, but I would say they over cooked the chicken a little bit..otherwise it was a great night

What a popular spot, took a chance and went on a Sunday afternoon. 30 minute wait then another 30 minute wait for the entire table to be filled. The show was great large portions of rice and noodles are nice and filling. I loved the avenue maki roll was able to share it with some new sushi lovers I'd recommend. The daiquiri was STRONG soup and salad was good loves the dressing. The only downside I can say is they pack this place to tight with so many people at one table very humid. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting from the smell, to the throw up and over the toilet but hey at least there was toilet paper and paper towels. The bar area in front seating is absolutely beautiful. Very clean and nice displays.

Went for my sons birthday last night and they did Not even attempt to accommodate us all sat together.. a few of us had to go out to the bar section the food looked and tasted different than habachi watching the chef cook it wasn’t good and I was very disappointed..chicken was very hard and dry .. the appetizer was very greasy when we tried sending back we were told NO refunds .. the restaurant has always been my go too until last night .. I’m convinced that the only thing consistent with this establishment is the smelling dirty bathroom .. they are making to much money not to invest into the restroom upkeep ESPECIALLY WITH NO REFUND POLICY

Okay. When arriving with your reservation we were told all members had to be accounted for before sitting. If this is a rule, there should be a bigger place for waiting parties. I understand that there's limited space, but this will help for the waiting area to be so crowded during peak times. In addition, it did take while to be seated, additional 15mins after being all accounted for. The waiting part is a bit unorganized and needs a better system. For the prices, bit higher than expected. Food was good, but I got chicken due to shell fish allergies and I wish the chicken was more season. But other than my personal taste. Everyone enjoyed. The portion size was great and filling. Place was well kept and clean. For allergies need to be stated before hand. I didn't feel safe with the layout just in case of an emergency, there is to many people and not enough space for people to move around. Slightly worrying. We were able to enjoy our time. But communication and customer service is needed.

W
What! guess who?

The people are pretty nice ! But the food is pretty basic noddles & rice ! The wanna be show they put on and then the bill . Overrated ! I would never go again . Too damn expensive for just noddles & rice !

We have been going to Kobe Japanese Steak and Seafood House for years. It used to feel like a special place for our family. Over time, it feels like there has been little to no investment in maintaining the restaurant. The bathrooms were filthy. The soap dispenser had visible mildew inside the pump. There was gum stuck to the bottom of our table. The rugs throughout the restaurant were dirty and stained. These are not small details. They point to a bigger problem. The staff was great! The service was attentive and kind. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre this time. With the level of filth we saw in public areas and the bathrooms, it raises a serious concern about what the kitchen looks like behind the scenes. We wanted to enjoy this visit based on years of loyalty, but cleanliness matters. Right now, that standard is not being met.

This place has really gone down hill. Gratuity was added onto my bill, therefore I wasn't going to leave a cash tip. My bill was 82.30. I paid in cash $85. The audacity of the waitress Andrea to not bring me back my change. Because it was my birthday and a person or color in a decent establishment, I didn't make it a big deal. I mean...maybe she really needed the extra 2 bucks!! But to not even offer me my change back pissed me off and I will patronize Kabuto for my future hibachi cravings!!!

Went for sushi, not hibachi, and left disappointed. Not bad per se, but really mediocre food and poor service. Not at all the sushi experience in had here 10 years ago on the regular. Edamame was way way over cooked and bland. Sashimi was just okay, not high quality cuts.. Did have vegetarian options, but simple, uninspired. Maybe hibachi experience is better, but still expect sushi to be on point, not a bare minimum they seemed to be doing. Server even handed us a stack of plates and cups, ie to set the table ourselves! Didn’t provide soy sauce trays, so we got them ourselves, albeit due to impatience and proximity to a stack at the bar.. Didn’t refill water. Didn’t seem understaffed either, just inattentive and uncaring. Sushi chef and our server were at least friendly.

M

The last couple of visits have been so disappointing. They have cut so many corners that it's not even enjoyable anymore. We got 2 Baltimore rolls and the "lump crab" is now shredded crab pieces. Flavor is way off. I paid for an extra side of eel sauce and spicy mayo, so they didn't even put any on the rolls. The Wasabi was completely omitted. What a huge disappointment.

B

I gave this a 2 star because of the restaurant in general. The prices are already high but then they tack on these fees that make it much more expensive. We used to eat here at the very least once a month but more times than not 2-3 times a month. Now, we may go there twice a year and after today we probably won't be back. As for the review, The food is excellent and the service is good. What I don't understand is why restaurants don't realize that we all expect prices to go up due to price increases from suppliers, payroll etc. but when you start putting signs up before you even sit down that there is multiple fees that's probably enough to turn even the most loyal patron away from your establishment. So we spent $116.35 for food and drinks for 3. After all the fees (not including tip) we paid $140.78. A little ridiculous right? Here is the breakdown, $6.98 tax and $17.45 service fees. What is the service fee for? 🤷🏼‍♀️ no clue. Attention all restaurants. Stop tacking on stupid fees and just raise the prices of the food. I predict this restaurant will be out of business at this location in the next 3 years. We went on a Friday around 3pm and the restaurant was virtually empty.

The food was delicious The atmosphere was good The hibachi show was cool However the server double charged me because she did not wait for me to unlock my card before she rangup my bill Normally I wouldn't be bothered by this However it was over $100 for the meal right before the holiday and since I was double charged that $100 didn't get put back on my card until after the holiday

The water here is toxic. Which means soup, coffee, tea and drinking water is poison. I keep a kit with me. Ours measures at home point one and this is over 200!!!! Also they charge the tip $20 and don't tell you

I have been to many different brands of Japanese Steakhouses before, and this is hands down the worst one I have ever been to. 1. We were a total party of 8, and 6 out of 8 arrived together, but they made us wait until the other 2 arrived, which was less than 5 Mins 2. Once seated, we were told by the hostess that if another party of 2 comes in, they will join them with us, this big party of 8 who all knew each other would have to let 2 strangers sit with us (3 adults and 5 kids). I quickly declined their request to allow that. 3. When ordering sushi, I asked for some Sriracha hot sauce, and the waiter had to check with his manager, just to come back and tell me that they don't have Japanese hot sauce at a Japanese restaurant. 4. The food was just ok, once my daughter started eating the salad that she is accustomed to at other Japanese steakhouse, it quickly made her stomach turn and she had to go to the bathroom a few times while there. The bathrooms were completely trashed with only 1 out of 3 stalls being decent enough. 1 stall was out of toilet paper and the other stall had a clogged toilet. I had to ask management to get the bathroom cleaned and it needed the tissue. The best they did was put tissue in the empty stall. Gross. 5. Right between the men and women's bathroom, this expensive enough for causal food restaurant had no class when they used that wall between the bathrooms to call out past patrons who skipped out on their bills. I understand that's frustrating but is completely unprofessional. 6. The waiter came with to go boxes and the check shortly after the chef left our table. Like can we at least finish our food and ask for the check before you start trying to kick us out? 7. And lastly, everyone in my household (2 adults & 4 kids) were rushing to the bathroom once we got home. And My daughter who is only 5 and was experiencing issues while in the restaurant was crying in the car because her stomach was hurting so bad. Smfh, never will we ever go back to this place and this is a warning if you choose to take it, to avoid wasting your time and your money on this Kobe location in white marsh.

It saddens me to write this review because I have celebrated many occasions here. However, my family and I will no longer be customers here. Today ( July 8th) we decided to eat at Kobes. Due to my toddler falling asleep in the car, we decided to order takeout. My boyfriend and I sat in the car in the parking lot eating our food and he felt something scratch the roof of his mouth. He pulled out a FINGERNAIL! He started analyzing his food and he found another piece of/the FINGERNAIL in the food. We checked the remaining of the food (which was good) but decided not to eat any of it anymore. He pulled the worker to the side and explained the situation. The manager explained that they have a no refund policy and in a demeaning way stated “how do I know you didn’t do it.” Before bringing the compliant forward we assessed the situation and it DEFINITELY was not his (his fingernails is trimmed and thick) and I didn’t eat any of his food plus we ate with forks not our fingers. We weren’t even done our food (my toddler was asleep so didn’t even eat his) and we sadly required to pick up food else where. My boyfriend explained that he isn’t looking for a refund for all of the food but at least the one that had the FINGERNAIL in it. He showed him the fingernail (which the manager didn't bother to look at) and stated that he can make the food over. My boyfriend explained to them how do we know that this wouldn’t happen again and his response was very nonchalant. We allowed them to remake the food and threw it away (maybe petty but we spent $90+ and was dismissed). They also tried to say that it was a shrimp shell. We left the fingernail at the front and expressed that we hope the manager speaks to staff about hygiene, food handling and the use of gloves.

So my fiancé is allergic to fish and eggs so he has to have his made separately. He didn’t get his food until everyone at the hibachi grill was done with their food. I got the steak sushi roll. I did not realize nor was told that the steak on the top of the sushi roll was rare. I couldn’t even eat the sushi. And they told me I could not get a refund for it. Or even a comp even though I only ate one piece before I was sick to my stomach.

Worst service ever! Reservation was at 7:30pm but we didn't get seated until 8:15pm. Then while we were eating, the waitress brought to-go bag and our check. We were there wanting to celebrate our son birthday but we didn't get to enjoy ourselves. When I asked for spoon they brought plastic spoon and was told that they didn't have spoon. Only to find out later that they had spoon. They know their service is the worst so they added 15% gratuity to our check in advance. The food was even great, the rice was too hard.Dont go to Kobe on a Saturday.

This place was great for sushi years ago, but over the past few years has gone downhill. They rarely get carry out orders right anymore. Tomago (egg omelette) instead of Tobiko (fish egg). They almost always screw up my hand roll orders. They don’t seem to care since they’ll still screw up the order after I specifically point out their prior errors. Just sad.

L
LaTonda Rowson

The atmosphere is the only thing this place has going for itself. We sat at the hibachi table, ordered the seafood combination (lobster, scallions, and shrimp) $45... I paid to sit and watch the 'chef' over cook all of my seafood.. I tried to ask him a few times to move it off the fire and he was too busy to acknowledge. Rice and noodles were super greasy, vegetables were the best part of the meal. Will not be eating here again. A $175 tab to walk out feeling like it should've cost $60!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! GO ELSEWHERE!!!

J
Jennifer Hoyt

I come here regularly usually once a month and one of the things I most look forward to is the salad. To the point that I sub out my soup for a second salad. I went last night and they changed the salad dressing and it was terrible. I will reevaluate where to go moving forward. I was very disappointed last night.

Unfortunately my experience with this restaurant was horrible. I have been coming to this restaurant for years and this was my first time having such a horrible experience. We were a party of 8 adults and they tried to sit an additional 3 adults with us. The most I have seen at the hibachi table is 9 adults. They gave us such a hard time about having enough space. The hostess was unprofessional and nasty. The server was nasty. Then they didn’t want to give us a glass of water after ignoring my aunt asking for water. We sat down first but were served last(we are black and they were white) . The chef was pleasant . However, he didn’t divide the vegetables up evenly, the birthday girl ordered double shrimp and he didn’t even have enough shrimp for everyone at the table. He also didn’t give enough rice or noodles to everyone at the table. I will not be coming back to this establishment. I agree with the other reviews that they treat us black people as second class citizens.

C
Christine Tristani

I would not recommend this place. I haven’t written a bad review in over 5 years, and we eat out at least three times a week. The server was uninterested, inattentive, forgot to bring drinks after asking three separate times. She was apparently depending on the 18% automatic ‘service charge’ that the manager said could NOT be removed because of corporate rules. Here’s a rule for you, service industry should provide a service. You do not pay for crappy service. The sushi and hibachi was not even worthy of a fast take-out joint ( wasted an average of $50 per person). The sushi was sub-grade and one in our party was served raw vegetables while others had a soupy rice and overcooked frozen overcooked soggy vegetables. The manager did remove the frozen veggies from the check. Perhaps it would have been better prepared at the table, but I’ll never go back. Committing customers to a tip (to insure prompt service) prior to service, is a recipe for laziness. People in the service industry should be appreciated their hard work, but lazy, inattentive servers should not be rewarded.
