Stop on in and enjoy a great meal. The food is fantastic. It will tickle your palette and satisfy your tummy. Yummy, yummy, yummy. Service is excellent and they pay special attention to the young ones at your table making their experience fun. Great food, fast and friendly service.
Small, casual, Asian cuisine. Excellent handrolled sushi rolls (Dancing Mango is by far my favorite.) Have chinese/mandarin dishes, sushi, teriyaki, bento boxes, etc. Can be a 20-30 minute wait on Friday or Saturday evenings. Staff is super friendly and helpful for recommendations.
Excellent experience! The food was absolutely delicious, everything was very well prepared and full of flavor. The ambience and atmosphere were great, making it a perfect place to enjoy with family or friends. You can really tell they care about the details. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back.
Best Asian cuisine in Texas! The service was above and beyond. Very friendly to our kids and gave us a magnet to take home as a gift for Christmas. The food is top notch. You can't miss on any item on the menu. Very delicious and good portion size.
First time eating here and we had a great experience. We just moved to Bastrop from Austin and were looking for a new neighborhood spot for us to start frequenting. We had the shaggy dog roll and a bowl of their ramen which we both really enjoyed. The service was very friendly and the place itself is cozy. Looking forward to coming back!
I ordered the "coco roll" and she had the shrimp tempura roll. Both were excellent. We also ordered the dumplings but they use a different name here. We had those fried. They brought out this dessert (fried) with chocolate in the center. Everything was fantastic. The restaurant is nice
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner very much. We arrived at 7 pm and were seated right away. The restaurant was clean and full of other patrons. Our server was very attentive and the many other staff members checked on us throughout our meal. Our food was delicious. My husband especially loved his teriyaki chicken, while my favorite are the crab puffs. Finally the hostess sealed the deal. Watching her treat every guest like an old friend was very special the behold. All in all, we had a great night and we will definitely be going back.
This is by far, hands down the best place to eat in Bastrop Texas. Everything is so hot and fresh. If you don’t walk out with your pants unbuttoned, you’re doing something wrong.
Best Asian food in Bastrop by a long shot. The food is amazing and the egg rolls and crab puffs are the best we've ever had hands down and the entrees that we've tried are all fabulous and fresh . I've gone 3x this week since we went for the 1st time 2 weeks ago...I may be obsessed with their food at this point. The staff is some of the kindest and friendliest I've come across in my years of eating out. They make you feel like you've been coming their for years with how welcoming they are. My new favorite place to go eat in Bastrop.
Kyoto Sushi in Bastrop is an absolute gem! 🌸 From the moment we walked in, the customer service was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The food came out hot, fresh, and beautifully plated, almost too pretty to eat (but trust me, we did 😋). The sushi was fantastic, and my absolute favorite is the Scorpion Roll (a must-try for sushi lovers!) Absolute favorite dishes are the Sweet & Sour Chicken (crispy perfection with just the right tang), the comforting Wonton Soup, and the flavorful General Tso’s Chicken. Every bite was spot-on, full of flavor, and made with care. If you’re in Bastrop and craving great sushi or Asian cuisine, Kyoto is the place to go. Fantastic flavors, gorgeous presentation, and service that makes you feel right at home. 🍣✨
Everything we got here was really tasty. The ramen was my favorite with great flavor and the pork was amazing. The sushi rolls both tasted fresh and hit the spot. The staff serving us were really attentive and nice. If you are looking for a good sushi place in town definitely check this place out.
We've stopped here a few times while traveling between Houston and the Hill Country, and it never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and attentive, the food consistently fresh, and the prices reasonable. The ginger dressing on the salad is incredible! I had the sashimi bento box, and my husband ordered the teriyaki steak—both were delicious. The millionaire roll was *chef’s kiss*, and the wonton soup had such rich, flavorful broth—I genuinely regret not getting one to go! The only miss for me was the crab rangoon. The filling had an odd texture and felt a bit sparse. 🤷♀️ But aside from that, everything else we’ve tried has been excellent!
We enjoyed the lunch during our trip.to Austin, TX for a conference. Especially the bento box. It's a worth of the price, plenty to share. We enjoyed the Fuji mountain chef specialties.. it was excellent presentation and good.. We enjoyed the nice conversations with the staff and asked her recommendations for the meals. She and two other staff are excellent.. 👍👍👍
What a cute spot for us to stop on our way from Houston to Austin. I realized I had been here before but never took the time to review then. I had to this time, especially with the amazing food and excellent service we've had from Fenny and the manager, Kumbar. We ordered the coco roll, rainbow roll, chirashi bowl. We also ordered the Kani calamari which was amazing too.

Really top notch for small town sushi!! I have visited many times. Ocean salad, Bastrop roll, cucumber nurauto roll, and egg drop soup are the stars imo.

So my girlfriend and I went to a post-Christmas lunch with her mom and her mom's boyfriend. It has been a while since I've been to a place with Chinese food on the menu. I usually judge a place by a combo of the eggroll, the wonton soup, and the fried rice. The won ton soup was passable. The fried rice was very good, generous portions of vegetables cooked well, though I ordered the shrimp fried rice, and it had whole shrimp in it, which is not to my preference. There was so much fried rice that I didn't have room for the eggroll, and didn't eat it, I can say that it freshly made (piping hot to the table, which is why I wound up eating the rice ahead of it) but also served sliced in half (presumably to cool it because it was piping hot) which I didn't care for. The waiter was polite and efficient. I would come here again.
Great food everything we had was terrific . The server was friendly and polite. I recommend you try the egg drop soup real rich flavor. Or the Godzilla Roll.Recent visit 07/2024 everything was good. Chicken dishes seem to be dry. General Taso Chicken to dry. Update 8/8/24 food was good service was great. Give this place a try. Price has gone up, but that seems to be the new normal. 2/6/25 food quality seems to become poor. They also smoked up the entire restaurant to a point I was feeling sick....
The salmon nigiri was pretty good , nice thick slices of salmon. A-little disappointed they don’t have any beer on draft, but bottled Sapporo was just fine. Didn’t care for the crazy crunch roll, insides were very mushy. The snow crab tempura roll was delicious though. Would stop by again if I was in town.

Edited with. Revisit: Visited on a Friday, early evening. The wait staff is very attentive. I order the shrimp hibachi bento box. My shrimp was very overdone and the sushi was warm. The other items were good. 1st visit: Visited on a Wednesday evening. The staff is very attentative. Ordered the crab puffs. The serving was generous, but the filling was only cream cheese, no crab. I had the Sesame Chicken. Again, the serving was generous. The chicken is breast meat, and was a bit dry. The sauce was good, and the rice was good. I will go back to try one of the Bento dinners.
Good variety of options to choose from. It’s a small restaurant so we ended up waiting around 14 mins for a table. The servers were nice, but it was confusing having multiple servers come to us. We also got out sushi rolls before our edamame’s which was odd.

I've now eaten here twice. 1st time was 5 star food. Second time was barely 2 star. I ordered the same thing both times. The steak Bento Box. The second time the steak was over cooked and tough and the portion was half of what i gor the 1st time. The vegetables were also over cooked and mushy. I was so excited to eat there for the second time - after having such a stellar meal the 1st time. However, I walked away being extremely disappointed with my meal!!

Party of 7. Food was acceptable but not quality I expect. Although the food looked nice it was missing flavor. I’ve been here about 5 years ago and the food was really good. I read the recent reviews before I went and I saw people comment that the place wasn’t as good as it used to be, and unfortunately they are right. I had the bento box. I was disappointed with the quality of the beef. It had a strange gritty texture. The rest of the party said the food was just ok. Service & Atmosphere We arrived about 8:45 pm. They are open until 9:30. But we felt rushed the entire time. At first the server wanted us to order fast which I understood due to the time. But then they brought the check right when they served the food, which is tacky. Then by 9:25pm the workers were all lined up behind us waiting. They had already cleaned the rest of the restaurant (it’s very small). I think they should close at 9 if the staff expects to leave at 9:30pm. Therefore, the atmosphere was uncomfortable and the service was rushed. I will not eat here again. I had 2 out of town visitors in addition to my family and this place was not impressive.
