The staff was very kind and patient, It was my first time here visiting and had no idea what to expect. The young lady at the counter was very informative of the menu and suggested the cilantro chicken sandwich. I ended up also ordering a coffee with my sandwich. The food came out in a timely mannered, and the sandwich was perfectly warmed up. The plate came with lays chips as a side and the coffee was delicious. I love the atmosphere and how comfortable it felt to dine in here. Will be back soon.I added the hours of business, and some photos to help you decide on your next food destination.

What an amazing alternative to the big brands of coffee houses. Coffee dog is a local coffee shop that roasts their own beans. They're in a nice central location in Bastrop. And it is a pleasant experience. One of the big ironies of Coffee Dog is they put "dog" in the name. But the first thing that greeted me was a sign saying "No Dogs Allowed." That was disappointing. While my experience was generally positive, Coffee Dog was missing something that almost every other coffee shop in Bastrop is missing - a comfortable place to sit and lounge. I feel like Coffee Dog would benefit greatly from a little interior remodel. Perhaps some comfy chairs in the corner and convert some parking spots into some outdoor seating.

coffee dog is a solid little coffee shop in bastrop that has a convenient drive through. i have always had nice experiences when i have come. staff is friendly, the food is good with generous portions. i think my only critique is the atmosphere can be a little frantic with a lot of noise.

Great prices, but you get what you pay for. Cons: Ordered a burrito, they were out of egg & sausage, didn’t even bother rolling it up. Ordered to a kolache, those were discontinued (but still on the menu). Long wait & the staff seemed irritated we were there. Pros: Cheap Chai was good Coffee was hot

I really wanted to love this coffee shop. The atmosphere is definitely five stars and it’s a nice place to sit and chat. The design and decorations of the place are really done well.The coffee wasn’t very good and I got a salad where part of it was rotten. I mentioned it to the staff to let them know not to serve that ingredient and wasn’t offered anything to replace it. It’s still a great place to go, meet someone or get some work done but don’t expect much from the food or coffee. This is based on one meal so maybe they had an off day.

I did not have a good experience here. Cold food a turtle mocha that tasted dank and cold when ordered hot. My review rn is of their management and owner customer relations. A patron of this establishment wrote a review that did not put them in a good light. The owner then went onto our town fb page calling the individual a liar and ranting about how it had to be a fake post instead of just apologizing and asking to make it right, even if they “knew” it was fake. And then continues to slander the patrons accountability because the person left without saying anything to them and just wrote the review instead. So not only will I not go to this establishment because of their poor food and coffee but mainly now because of their owners inability to take criticism and taking it and making that situation better for the next customer. Made a special stop to this cafe in Bastrop Texas on a drive from El paso to Louisiana specifically to have their signature cinnamon rolls again. They simply don't have them today despite me coming in at opening. Maybe they never have them on Mondays? Maybe only one employee knows how to make them and they have been out? Would be one star, but the $7.12 medium chai latte was actually pretty good. Minimum suggested tip was 18% for service no better than I'd get from a vending machine though.

This place is going downhill quick. Used to be a daily stop for us, but they have gotten rid of popular menu items and now have transitioned to store bought pastries. Coffee that was good is now bitter. Disappointing.

I’ve supported this local coffee shop for a long time, back when it was owned by Christiana and run by truly fabulous employees like Nikki, Justice, and Mariah. During that time, Coffee Dog was reliable, welcoming, and worth recommending. Unfortunately, under new ownership, that is no longer the case. This morning was the final straw. I placed my order and waited over 30 minutes, only to receive absolutely nothing. After my order was taken, I reasonably assumed it was being prepared. Instead, a different employee later came to the window and asked what I had ordered as if no record or communication existed at all. At that point, I asked for a refund. What followed was a frustrating and unnecessary ordeal. The so-called manager came to the window and began explaining how long a sandwich takes to make despite the fact that I did not order a sandwich. The manager clearly did not understand the situation, continued wasting my time, and failed to listen after I had already made it clear that I just wanted a refund since my order was never made. Even processing the refund became a struggle. This is not an isolated incident. On several prior visits, they’ve been under-supplied, out of basic items, or dealing with non-functioning machines issues that are frankly unacceptable for a business that calls itself a coffee shop. The lack of organization and accountability is astounding. One of our clients regularly purchased gift cards from Coffee Dog for us, but after this experience, I will be telling him not to return. Mr. Hodges, save your money this place is no longer worth it. It’s incredibly sad to see how far this business has fallen. I supported Coffee Dog for the longest time, but I am officially done. I will not be returning, and I will not be recommending this place to anyone. Future customers should be aware: this business is not the same under new ownership.

First time I went it was amazing. My frappe was great. This time I went. The lady didn't make it right. Forgot our order and was kinda rude about it when we asked this isn't how it was made last time. Not sure I want to go back.

The service here needs improvement. My overall experience was unpleasant and disappointing. The screenshot I attached to this review shows another review that is interaction between a customer and the owner of this business. I think the owners response to the review should tell you all you need to know about this place. I visited last week with my wife. We did not feel welcomed, it was pretty slow, 1 person ahead of us and for some reason it took us 15 minutes to get 2 coffee’s (medium latte, large cold brew) There were 3 employees. 2 at the counter and 1 at the window. I’ve worked in several service industry positions. Including a coffee shops and the service we got at this place is unacceptable. I just politely ask to consider this feedback and take a look at how y’all could be doing things better. The coffee was great. I would choose this place over Starbucks. But I will not be returning here anytime soon. I just hope nobody has the unfriendly and poor service my wife and I received. I sincerely hope there is improvement in how this business operates.

Visited on a weekday after the lunch rush. It wasn’t that busy (maybe 2 people ahead of us). I was excited about trying out a local coffee roaster but the excitement went downhill pretty quickly. It took about 3-5 minutes to order while we waited for someone. And then after we ordered, there was a good 5 minutes of absolutely no one doing anything coffee-related . The employees were either in the back or at the register. There was a lady in front of us who ordered but didn’t even get her food until after we left! It was a poorly run coffee house with potential. The coffee was average. I won’t be coming back.
