My daughters and I went to Friendly's for the Big Two Do breakfast special. It was a very rainy day, and the waitress who was working solo, was awesome! As a visitor, I felt welcome and at home among the regulars.

We went on a Friday night and it was very busy. The entire staff including the manager was working their tails off! Food was great, came out hot. Staff was friendly and restaurant was clean. We will definitely be back!

Always a good time. Mushroom burger is back I added bacon got a root beer and forbidden fudge brownie sundae. Sorry no photos but definitely on my next visit.

Friendly's was at 75% capacity tonight. We did not have to wait too long before someone took out order it took around 25 minutes for the food to come out. Drinks were handed out pretty quickly. After we had ordered, an all American hamburger and two orders of macaroni and cheese with cheddar (white) and chicken fingers etc. 20 minutes later, we then ordered dessert. Dessert took 30 minutes to arrive. Service has always been very good at the Islip location regardless of how many patrons there are on any given night. Overall a B / B + rating tonight

My favorite place to eat. Have been coming to friendlys for over 20 years Now tradition to bring my daughter whose 10 years old and she loves it. Delicious food. Friendly and amazing service. I recommend to my friends and family all the time.

I stopped by this location after a trip to the Bronx Zoo with my girlfriend & her family. It’s the first time I’ve been to one since my nearest location closed well over 5 years ago. I have to say it was great to be back. I was a little disappointed that the Hawaiian burger was no longer available. But that’s obviously a corporate decision.

I haven't had Friendly's in 3 years and it was worth the wait. We finished our meals and it was good! Just as good as STEAK AND Shake in Tampa on Bruce B Downs! The Fribble Shake hasn't changed at all! Onion Rings were good and Burger! Hubby had the turkey meal and didnt complain at all!

It was very nice and my children loved it and the workers were also very kind.This was probably one of the best restaurants i've ever been to. This is one of the places where I didn't want to go again.

Ice cream was good my wife liked it. I tried as well and I think they do have a nice ice cream. I’m gonna give them four out of five for not having drive-through would be great. I was really looking forward to maybe have a drive-through but they actually don’t maybe I’m outsider, as in Texas most of the ice cream places like these do have a drive-through, and I was actually surprised that they do have good parking in New York and it was a decent good taste. Ice Cream would definitely recommend going there. Enjoy.

There is nothing like a Friendly’s sundae. You can try making it at home but it will never measure up. It is consistently the same deliciousness every time. Whether I am dining in or taking out, Friendly’s never disappoints. It is, and always will be my childhood favorite!!

Yesterday was my first time coming to a friendly's and it was honestly the best first impression of a place that I've had in a very long time! It was comfortable and the nice server that was able to help me and my friend really made me feel comfortable to be myself. I'm a photographer but I'm not much of a social butterfly so some places there will be people that will give dirty looks when taking photos but the nice server that was able to help us actually encourage me to keep pursuing what I enjoy doing and it really made my morning. And it got even better when you get to have the food. My friend that gave me the recommendation, told me that I have to try eating here and it was so amazing. Usually it takes me about a month to review places that I've been but this place is an absolute gem and I'll definitely be back soon

Friendly’s a go-to when my kids want comfort food and ice cream that hits the spot. The food is what you'd expect, burgers, melts, fries, and other family favorites. Nothing fancy, but it’s tasty and reliable. The real star is the ice cream. Sundaes, shakes, cones. They do it all and it’s always good. I recommend the reeses pieces sundae. The vibe is laid-back and great for families or just a relaxed meal out. Staff is usually friendly, and prices are reasonable if you use coupons or come when the lunch or late nite specials are in effect. Bathroom is clean and stocked.

Nice nostalgic dinner at the same Friendly's my wife scooped cones in over 35 years ago. Big fan of the marionberry grilled cheese with a cup of organic tomato soup. Staff awesome, and always fun making faces at the kids next to us.

Went for lunch. Service was good. Waitress was sweet. Had the smashburger. Wasn't a great tasting beef patty. Wouldn't order the burger again.

Ice cream was fantastic as usual. My only issues were the young man covered in syrup and stuff all over his arms, just gross. Not to mention the bathroom, it was disgusting. Even the door knob was nasty, I didn't want to touch it.

Waitress was really nice and accommodating. The food came out pretty fast. But even without extra jalapeños and BBQ sauce it was pretty bland. Think most of the food is from frozen so it's ok for the price. But my the kids Mac and cheese was dry and had no real cheese or flavor. The blackberry fribble was great I'm lactose intolerant and I suffered for it but I finished it haha. Overall great for dessert. But even with the kids menu and options, the food is lacking. Also the Mac and cheese bites are basically little mozzarella Nugs. Not Mac and cheese!

I live in East Islip and recently noticed that the few times I've stopped in on the ice cream to go side there are all teenagers working making the Sundays and they seem to cater to the Uber eats/Doordash orders rather than the walk in to go orders. They will take your order, your money and forget your there, they will even put your order in the freezer instead of giving it to you, you'll find your self waiting 30 minutes for a Sunday that's sitting in the freezer already done. Unfortunately that side of the restaurant is all teenagers and some seem to work kind of slopy, with no adult supervision that they seriously need, something should be done about that, I won't be getting my ice cream to go from there any more. On the other hand I recently took my son there for ice cream and appetizers and the service on the restaurant side was on point, The food and ice cream were good along with the server's. The servers were swamped as the restaurant was packed, they did a great job and the kids were all having a blast like they should at friendlys.

If you are looking for a fairly inexpensive lunch, dinner or just ice cream this is a clean, quiet, family oriented place to eat. They are always well staffed, professional and friendly.The menu offers everything from a single scoop of ice cream, kid sundaes, wide variety of breakfast items, sandwiches, soups, salads and many dinners that all include something fried. There are also healthier selections as they offer a variety of salads and unfortunately only vanilla frozen yogurt. The wait staff is friendly and timely, but we have had to wait longer than usual to get our food at different times of the day, especially on Saturday afternoons or Sunday mornings. A nice place for families with small children as they do have a kids menu, high chairs and coloring pages with crayons to keep them entertained until the food is served.

Better than I expected. The home fries were better than I remember and the pancakes came out just right. Lightly crispy around the edges. Better than many of my IHOP experiences as of late. I will be back.

Our waitress was terrific I did have to ask the chef to put them plastic gloves But they did and I appreciated it I couldn’t have ate there unless they had the plastic gloves on That’s over with the food was very good after that I felt more at ease Again the waitress, I don’t know her name2/15/26 after 3 PM Was very patient with us. I visited with my four-year-old granddaughter and observed that the parking lot was quite full. I proceeded inside, only to find the venue crowded with a fundraiser, seemingly related to a daycare. Consequently, numerous unsupervised children were present. While I understand children's energy and excitement, I believe parents should instill appropriate public behavior. I commend the servers for their diligent efforts in providing excellent service and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Having moved out of state about 11 years ago, it was nice to see a Friendly's that was still standing. Many had closed down before we even moved. We ate at your East Islip location. The food was good and the ice cream was delicious! Our server was Laura D. She was very friendly and very helpful, and a delight to chat with. She took good care of us! There was, however, a glitch with the computer system. Our check was wrong, and it took several tries for it to be corrected. PS - It was founder's Day, and we received two cute t-shirts, that we are excited to wear!

I ordered delivery. The food was excellent. The 3 ice creams I ordered were missing and so was the salad dressing.

They have tasty fried clams and i always get their milkshakes (so good) the only problem at the time was their silverware. It had bits of old food on it and it was all wrapped in 1 bundled napkin. ( There were 3 sets ) usually silverware is individually wrapped. The quality that night was off and nothing ...dinner like or really like going out, kind of like eating at Subway. They have carpeting which I don't see many food places at all have. We didn't wait long for the food and they don't have the tech like Olive garden with the small kiosks on the table and you just do the payment there.

Went to Friendly's East Islip this past Sunday. It was empty except for one table for 6 in the back. The tables at the entrance were dirty. We waited over 5 minutes because the servers were all in the kitchen. No one came out to seat us or acknowledged us. We decided to leave mostly because the servers we could see were not wearing masks. Disappointed. We love their ice cream. ( It was 1 pm by the way).

The food and ice cream were great, but I should have realized that the last time I went to Friendly's, my kids were little. I probably said it then as I will now. The food is way too expensive for what you get. The food was good, but I'm not having filet mignon. We had a burger and a chicken cutlet with cheese. Not the fanciest of dinners. When the waitress took our order, she said, "You get 2 sides with the meal." I asked, "What do you get?" She rattled off 3 or 4 things, so I took the soup and waffle fries. When the bill came after our ice cream, there were extra charges on the bill. I asked what this is and why I was charged for the soup and waffle fries...? Oh, I forgot to say that those were extra. I'm not the one who says go get your manager or anything like that. She was a young kid if not in high-school than just out of one. I'm not going to get her in trouble but to pay $120 for mozzarella sticks, a burger w/ fries, a chicken thing with fries and a soup, 2 ice creams... is a bit much. This was all going on as 2 of the 30 tables that were seated had screaming, not just crying but screaming kids. So if you are looking to get back at a colleague or a teacher you don't like, get them a gift certificate to Friendly's.

This afternoon I Purchased a chocolate crunch ice cream cake for my wife’s Birthday. Just prior to being rung up by the older woman with red hair, I requested that she write on the cake. Her answer was, “Oh we don’t do that anymore because of COVID”. I left puzzled, needless to say I went to another ice cream establishment and they were more than happy to write on cake even if they hadn’t sold me the cake.

My Friendly's has gone way downhill! Maybe it's why so many are closing. Slow service and below average food. Prices are low there and I suppose if you are taking a bunch of kids out for lunch you might add a star. Still love the Fribbles!

First time was a month ago encountered an unfriendly waitress….. I thought ok maybe she was having a bad day. Went a 2nd time unfortunately same waitress with grey hair and again not friendly at all. Manager should speak with her about her attitude. I had my grandchildren with me - Won’t give it a 3d try

Febuary 15 went for my sons birthday ,the inside had limited heat ,it was freezing inside to the point it made me not want to have any icecream .Horrible exsperience ,my BLT had 1 strips of bacon and a pile of lettuce .The counters edges seating had layers of dust so thick it was obvious poor hygiene cleaning , one good thing the one man was very nice .

So nasty, spent $50 to have a hair in our burger. 🤢🤮 never eating from here again. My hair is red so i know this isn’t mine, this hair was cooked inside the burger.

The service at this Friendly's was not bad at all, the waitress was very quick with our drinks, appetizer and meal as well as with the check. However, the table in front of us were disgraceful. It is a Saturday night so I expect it to be loud, but the people in front of us were yelling to each other and banging on the table to make music; the male was doing inappropriate gestures to the female sitting next to him which is inappropriate to do in public to begin with, but to me, it crosses the line even further when it is in a restaurant and with young children around. However, the final straw was when food was being thrown at their table and some of it landed on the table I was sitting at with my boyfriend and instead of turning around to apologize, the female were threw the food laughed it off and her friend leaned over to see my facial reaction. That was it for me, I got the check very quickly, didn't even check it to make sure it was correct, left cash in the book and handed it to our waitress and left. We used to love this Friendly's and while this complaint is not about the service, it was obvious that the staff knew the other customers were not thrilled with this table and nothing was said.

They should have never starting delivering since they clearly can’t handle it. The past 4 times I have placed an order for delivery, my order is not correct and things are missing. Tonight I placed a simple ice cream only order with maybe 4 sundaes and once again I’m sending the delivery driver back to get the missing items. GET IT TOGETHER.

Have you ever eaten at Friendly's before? Shake off every preconception and hope for good experiences, and instead prepare to wait an absurdly long time for sundaes that don't live up to a shadow of historical reality. The children making your ice cream are probably vegans, and the lady working the counter has forgotten your name, to say nothing of the fact that your order has been sitting ready in the freezer for half of an hour while you stand there like a goob. It's enough to make one switch to Carvel.

Waited 10 minutes to be seated, waiters just looked at us standing. Even manager just looked at us.also. We left and went to Applebee’s better service and better food. Your lost my business

I’ve never been so mistreated at a food establishment in my life. If you have any tint of tan in you do not come to this establishment. I came with my sister and my son and the waitress looked at us, and walked away, didn’t even tell us to wait but we just brushed it off. She just grabbed the menus and we were supposed to read her mind to follow her. We were seated and she not once introduced herself, smiled, or even said you’re welcome when my 2 year old son thanked her for his drink. I asked if she could bring over some crayons and a kids menu when she had a chance her response was I’m busy. Unbelievably rude. As soon as other people came in who were not of color she greeted them with a smile, told them to please give her a moment, seated them and even stayed and had a conversation with them while we just waited for some boxes to leave. The worst experience ever. Not to mention alllllllll of our food was burnt. Appetizers, entrees, and my son’s food. She also didn’t give him the ice cream that came with his meal. Honestly feel robbed that I had to pay for that meal and since it was all disgusting and burnt we’re still hungry after spending 70$. Stay away from this location

Never experienced racism at a food establishment until today. The waitress was unbelievably rude to my family & I, never introduced herself nor even greeted us properly. When she brought over our drinks she threw the straws on the table on top of the menus while we were reading and just started snatching the menus out of the way when we weren’t even done ordering. Not to mention she never asked how I wanted my burger cooked or anything. Then when non people of color came in she proceeded to greet them so nicely and attended them right away. I was speechless of the treatment we received and definitely wouldn’t recommend coming here. Waste of money, time and energy.

I came to this location yesterday and had a horrible experience. I came across this lady named Jackie I believe. She is an older lady who looks miserable and not friendly at all. She was very bitter and miserable. I asked her for a cup of water and she ignored me. I don’t understand how establishments hire these type of people. I work in a restaurant and would never treat a guest that way! I don’t think I will be coming back to this location especially with people like that working! Besides her, everyone else was super nice and friendly.

When. We went to this location our experience were awful and we ordered shrimp and the shrimp poop was still in it! We also ordered a pizza that wasn’t cooked! We had to wait so longggg!!! My tenders were not cooked either they were dry and bland. The Mac and cheese was watery and barely had any cheese. I wouldn’t recommend coming. Keep in mind I only went there once and then stopped me and my two friends almost vomited!!! we ordered the Superman ice cream special and the cup was very dirty, I don’t even think they cleaned!!!👎 And for the last thing we had mozzarella sticks and they had barely any cheese and was very soggy 👎👎👎

One of the worst place I have ever been. There was an old white lady was serving me. They made us wait so long. They weren’t even busy bc the store had just opened and there was someone already there sitted. I took my kids to eat bc it was his birthday he turned 3years old and I was with my 1 year old too. The place was dirty I had to clean the table myself. I told the lady it was my son’s birthday if he can get cake and sing to him. She said yes. I was very polite to her. But she was not one of the worst waitresses. She did not have her mask on her face. Kept touching her nose. Sneezing. Talking over me with no mask on. They do not follow the COVID protocol. After she served me i said thank you 3 time she did not answer. I had to ask her for crayons for my kids to draw she didn’t want to give it to me until insist. Very rude. She was very nice to the other white customers but not me I don’t know if she don’t like kids or if it was bc I was black I will never eat there again. The desert was trash. I had them throw it out. They can’t even Sing happy birthday for a baby that’s sad. I don’t recommend anyone to eat there. There steak was pink I throw up felt nauseous once I got home. No one deserves to be treated like that not when they spending their money.

I know this is not chick fil a, but please teach your staff to be more welcoming. Some people just look miserable and if you’re having a bad day please don’t take it out on others around you. At least try to fake like you’re trying to help, and acknowledge the people around you, you’d be surprised how a little “hello, we will be right with you” goes a long way. Please don’t discriminate towards any group. I hope this establishment does better, it’s always the same thing with this place.

We've been taking our grandkids for ice cream every other day after bowling. We were spending a little over $30.00 every time. This ice cream stop at Friendly's was every other day fir the past month.I did get coupons for 5.oo off 30.00 having said that the one employee did honor the coupon 2 days ago. I can prove this as I have the receipts.We decided we would go fo a bite to eat for dinner today ,having said that we ordered our meal which I paid 14.99 for a salad the server said it was very large , I got my salad and it was not very large , my husband got a burger & fries which was a regular burger it was OK. Then we get the bill and I had the last of the coupons for $ 5.00 the server didn't know how to take it off the bill soo she went to get the manager who tried to take the 5.00 off after a bit the server came back to us and told us they couldn't get it to work . The server from the day before was there and I said ask that server he's the one that got it to work two days ago.The manager went back in the kitchen and the server said we couldn't use the coupon. It's not about the coupon it's the way it was handled. The salad is definitely a rip off, and for a 5.oo coupon they lost very good customers and we'll NEVER set foot in there again. What started as a nice dinner went way south when I saw the size of the salad and the cherry on top was 2 people including the manager couldn't get the coupon to work ,it was not a great experience. So for 5.00 they lost very loyal customers who spent a nice piece of change atleast every other day since school has been out!!. Terrible customer service !!

Tried to order through Uber eats and friendys had an error on their end with the wrong order tried to have it fixed driver agreed to pick it up and drop it off but the manager at friendleys was extremely rude and refused to fix the computer error I had a screen shot of my order properly ordered and the disgusting looking half cooked monstrosity they were trying to pass off as what was messed up in computer error and she was nothing but rude absolutely brushing off that she wouldn't even think of fixing it. Hello, good morning. I want to share my experience from yesterday afternoon. I went to this store as a DoorDash driver to pick up an order. I work very hard every day with love and respect for the community, and I’m also a customer at many of the places where I deliver. Yesterday, I was treated extremely poorly by one of the employees. I left my house to work honestly and in a good mood, but as soon as I walked into the store, one of the employees looked at me like I had done something wrong. He started being rude, acting like he couldn’t understand me. When I told him I was there to pick up an order, he said he already knew, but he kept being hostile and treated me with so much disrespect, asking me again and again what I was saying. I almost ran out of there. I ended up sitting in the parking lot feeling so small and powerless that I started crying out of frustration because of the way I was treated. He was a tall, thin, white guy with black hair. It’s so shameful how normalized discrimination and mistreatment are. My experience was terrible. The lack of basic respect and kindness from the staff is degrading, especially towards people from different backgrounds or skin colors. No one deserves to be treated like that.
