Come for the seafood, stay for the Micheladas! Nestled in the heart of Chinatown, this joint has something for everybody! Grilled, fried, raw, they've got it all. This is our favorite go to place for oysters on the half shell in the whole city. The vibes are super chill and the prices are reasonable. Great place to just enjoy some seafood platters and fresh oysters. They have a nice oyster selection as well as lobster and scallop sashimi. The lobster sashimi is so good and comes with a fried claw too. They can hook you up with straight up oysters on the half shell or they can dress it up with their Michelada sauce or Japanese ponzu sauce. They even have uni dressed oysters, called the millionaire oysters, that's are divine. This place is a hidden gem and I highly recommend it to anybody who loves fried/grilled seafood and raw oysters!
We made it a mission to explore Chinatown this year and this was highly recommended. The food was really delicious. Everything was made to order and came out steaming hot. The oysters were really fresh. The shrimp batter was a little plain and underwhelming but the tartar sauce was one of the best I’ve ever tasted and made up for it. The waiter was nice and attentive. We were surprised it was empty on a Sunday afternoon.
Everything here is so fresh, from the seafood to the in-house made horse radish, cocktail sauce, and tartar sauce! It really makes a difference in flavor that everything is made fresh in house. The owner and workers here are very attentive and friendly and can recommend great dishes. Very personable too and helpful! We tried the Beau Soleil French Canadian oysters for the first time and they had a great fresh flavor! Highly recommend this place!! The Oaxacan shrimp tacos are probably the best quesadillas I’ve had in my life, because the shrimp is fresh and not like cheap shrimp that is usually thrown into other quesadillas I’ve had elsewhere. The flavor is really nice and the tortillas are toasted really nicely. They look like they’re in the shape of the taco but it’s definitely a delicious quesadilla! The fried shrimp is also very fresh and the fries that came with it are also nicely crisped.
Don’t let the unassuming exterior fool you—7 Seas Oyster Bar is a hidden gem! The food is absolutely amazing. The catfish and shrimp were perfectly breaded, crispy, and full of flavor. The charbroiled oysters were a standout—rich, buttery, and cooked just right. They also have an impressive selection of oysters to choose from, which seafood lovers will really appreciate. On top of all that, the service was great and made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be back for more seafood!
The food was excellent! They had such a wide variety of excellent seafood made so well and well portioned! The owner explained everything and provided great drinks and selection for us! Definitely our new favorite oyster spot. We ordered the lobster with fettuccine their new bourbon charbroiled oysters and a selection of different oysters from the u.s and Canada.
First time eating here, and everything was top notch. 10/10. The owner was our server and he offered us recommendations and his favorites. We got 2 dozen oysters, an oyster flight & the scallop sashimi. Everything was FRESH 🦪clean, and a good size. They make their own sauces and have a variety of sauce options — absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to come back again it’s on the LIST. IF YOURE LOOKING FOR A PLACE…THIS IS IT!
One of my favorite restaurants in Houston. I get a massage next door then I fill my belly. Oysters are amazing and all of their seafood is super fresh. Ironically, my new go to are their prime steak quesadillas. Try the place out. You won’t regret it!
My husband and I came here on a late weekday night, and we were greeted with friendly service from the bar staff. They advised us on the menu and even made menu suggestions, we thoroughly enjoyed the wide selection of oysters. If you are a raw oyster fan, this is absolutely a place you should visit as they offer oysters from different parts of the world and they are definitely worth a try. We also had hot and cold sake, which was a first time for us. I wasn’t crazy about it, but I believe that’s just a personal preference. They also had soju. We ordered quite a few different things and spent right under $300. They also had karaoke, I’m not sure if that’s something they normally do or they just did that on that night, but it was absolutely fun! I will return and highly recommend for any oyster or seafood lover that they give this place a try. Oh, and I forgot to mention that their charbroiled oysters are really good as well.
First time eating here, and it was amazing! The oysters were fresh, clean, and a good size. They make their own boudin hush puppies — absolutely delicious! For the main course, we had the bluefin ahi tuna tartare, which was made fresh to order and packed with flavor. Can’t wait to come back again. Highly recommend!
Edit: Incredible. Just incredible. Michael (the owner) was such a delight and the food was delicious!!! Will definitely be back! Easily the BEST lychee martini I’ve ever had! I haven’t even gotten the food yet and the vibes, service and drinks warrant a review. 10/10 recommend!!!
The gulf oysters were so fresh and plump! We also had the charbroiled oysters, lobster bisque, and chicken wings which were all great too. Service was friendly and attentive. Will be back :)
Man where do I start?? This place is AMAZING!! First and foremost let me start with our server. Marcos is amazing, attentive and personable. He was just a joy speaking with and handled the hustle with ease and friendliness. Now the food? Chefs kiss! We had the uni, lobster tacos, oysters. Everything was cooked (or not cooked lol raw oysters) to perfection. 10/10 will be here again and again
Amazing experience at 7 Seas Oyster Bar! The seafood is as fresh as it gets, and the team here knows their stuff. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, making the whole visit enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit!
They have the best oysters for reasonable prices. These "French kiss" oysters were perfectly shucked, clean and had absolutely no sand! The oysters are hand selected by the owners and they even clean the outer shells (see picture showing the shell sides of those we ate). The owner served us and made sure we had everything we needed. Came back second time for the dry aged steak. We also ordered the seafood gumbo; the soup base was delicious and it had just crab meat and shrimp, and none of the other stuff I don't care for. The steak was seasoned and grilled to perfection by the owner. The steak was accompanied by two sauces: a garlic with vinegar based (light yellow one in the picture), and a smoked onion/tomatillo. My husband liked the garlic and I preferred the smoky one. It was great that we each got what we liked. The owners (a husband and wife team) are passionate about their foods, and it shows. You feel like you are eating at a friend's house. The dry aged steak does require about 25-30 min to prepare so if you are in a rush, it's not for you. You also need to order it at least a day before you want to dine there so they can bring it out to the restaurant. Thank you for the wonderful meals! We will definitely return next time we are in town.
PLEASE GIVE THIS PLACE MORE RECOGNITION! It literally is the best food and the best vibes! I always come after work and get oysters which are so good and they have so many types. Recently i also tried their steak and pasta combo and my bf and i loved it. I could literally cut that steak with a fork. 10/10 always my go to spot and the owners are the sweetest people ever.
I really enjoyed having dinner here and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The oysters are great and very fresh along with the other seafood options. They do have exotic oysters from other parts of the world but I prefer the Gulf oyster and those were sweet and delicious. We tried a little bit of everything and enjoyed the gumbo and their japanese cheesecake was delicious. Overall very good fresh food and it seems to be family owned which I enjoy supporting. Go check them out in Chinatown
Food, drinks, dessert and service: all 10/10 Fresh clean oysters, their lobster bisque is rich and creamy, and their basque cheese was so tasty and perfect to share.
I love the seafoods here. I wish they get more love cause it's never busy here. The owner is super nice and loves making conversation. Definitely try the Michela oyster and the uni pasta?
If you're a seafood lover, 7 Seas Oyster Bar is the only place you need to go—seriously... After dining here, I won’t eat seafood anywhere else! I now rely on 7 Seas Oyster Bar for all my seafood cravings—and sometimes, I stop by just to chat with Michael. His passion and expertise make every visit worthwhile. Michael. Is. The. Man. His knowledge of oysters is next level, and his passion is undeniable. He takes the time to explain the different varieties, where they’re from, and what makes each one special. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned oyster connoisseur, Michael ensures an unforgettable experience. Beyond oysters, everything on the menu is fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The quality is unmatched—you can taste the difference in every bite. And if you're looking for something specific, Michael can special-order seafood for you. Just give him a heads-up, and he’ll make it happen. That posted picture of fresh bluefin tuna, is just one of many examples of what he can source for you. Best of all, the seafood prices are below market value without sacrificing quality. You’re getting top-tier seafood at unbeatable prices, making 7 Seas Oyster Bar an even better deal.

What a meal. Michael and his crew took care of us and then some. Freshest oyster in Houston, we also had the off menu items (see pictures)….diver scallops sashimi - you can go back to regular scallop after this….lobster two ways - tail meat sashimi and they fried the rest with a touch of truffle, you have to order this if your luck is in. Go there and let them feed you…we tried 7 kinds of oysters without breaking the bank….support a local and family owned business you guys. I know I will go back again.

**I must preface this by saying trying Uni has been on my bucket list for nearly 7 years now. That was crossed off today. These Cajuns took on 7 Seas Oyster Bar and LOVED IT! From the moment we walked through the door to the time we got back to our AirBnB, this experience stuck to us in every good way possible! Being greeted with the biggest and warmest smile from Michael the owner was as welcoming as you can get! Michael was so informative and helpful of everything we were interested in on the menu! The sake, the oysters, the uni, the caviar, the boudin puppies… spectacular. We told him we were going to give him a run for his money on the boudin puppies given we are from Lafayette, Louisiana, and we were NOT disappointed! We could have stayed there and asked him questions upon questions, learning new things! His passion and joy not only for cuisine itself but the emotion a customer has during their experience is nothing short of admirable! The research and time he spent into creating his spin on our Cajun cuisine to implement in his menu has us in awe! We are beyond thrilled this was our last stop for our little trip to Houston and I think it can go without being said, we WILL back! We left so satisfied not only with our stomachs being satiated, but our hearts so FULL! Thank you Michael for everything!

Amazing food and extremely knowledgeable staff! Would recommend getting the premium oyster sampler to start with, as we based the test of our meal choices off of this. Some of the freshest oysters you will ever eat, and the crab legs were fantastic too
wanted to share my experience. Oysters – Rockefeller:** This dish didn’t meet my expectations. It seemed like it was just oyster with cheese, lacking the traditional preparation and balance I associate with Rockefeller oysters. Lump Crab Oysters with Shrimp:** The flavors were flat for me—no noticeable seasoning or seasoning balance. It basically tasted like oyster, cheese, and crab without added seasoning or depth. Lobster and Shrimp Sandwich:** This was bland and lacked distinct flavors. It could use more seasoning or a bolder preparation to elevate the seafood. Lobster Bisque:** This was the standout, and I’d rate it 9/10. Rich, flavorful, and well-executed. Shrimp, Tacos was ok Service & Value:** Service was great, and prices were reasonable.
Omg this is the best Oyster bar ever. Good food and good service also. Me and my husband love this place so much. Highly recommend this place for people like oysters like me. They have so many different Spicy sauces( only reason they charge me $6 extra because he said this order its not on their menu yet.) im not happy with that and oyster they make and said it’s good but $29 and Japan $38. Ask before you order
