Opinions de East Wall Restaurant Bellaire
Honestly, some of the best Chinese food I’ve consumed in Houston. Notably, what’s different here is the cleanliness and how nice the staff is, which you normally don’t get in Bellaire so +1 for that. For the food, everything came out hot, straight from the kitchen. The ingredient quality was extremely fresh. I highly recommend trying the salt and pepper fish filet. The crunch they get on their batter is like no one else in Bellaire. Seasoning here is great, not overly salty. The only dish I wouldn’t get again would probably be the HK sweet and sour pork, but that’s only because it’s slightly too sweet for me and that’s a personal preference. Their roasted duck was a bit fatty, but still delicious. The skin had a great crisp on it, which I feel like most restaurants aren’t able to do, unless you’re getting it from an asian BBQ joint. Prices here are great, averaging $13-16 per entree. This is going to be my new go to for Chinese staple dishes!
Always enjoy bringing my family here. The food is reliable classic Chinese dishes. Of course do have more exotic menu items but we love the sweet and sour pork and sizzling beef. It’s BYOB if you want to bring a bottle of wine.
Me and the boys came here one day to eat 6 Peking ducks and crush some BYO Tsingtaos. Peking duck was very crisp. Boa was soft and delicious. Took some hoison sauce home. They called everyone in our group Jacob. Would definitely come again.
Every dish we ordered was impressive from start to finish. The Peking duck was the highlight with perfectly crisp skin and tender, flavorful meat. The bok choy was cooked just right with balanced seasoning that did not overpower the natural taste. The dim sum was fresh, delicate, and absolutely satisfying. On top of the amazing food, the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even more enjoyable. This is definitely a place I would return to again.
We had Singapore noodles, Mongolian beef, hot and sour soup, xao long bao (soup dumplings) and orange chicken. My daughter loved the orange chicken, great flavor perfect for kids , and no spice just as it should be made. The hot and sour soup was huge and incredibly delicious. Mongolian beef had great spice and I really enjoyed my Singapore noodles, nice curry flavor and loaded with pork and shrimp. The xao long bao were good but I don’t think I would order again, I’ve had better soup dumplings elsewhere. Service was great, Jamie was especially sweet and helpful. We will definitely come back!
East Wall has long been one of our favorite spots for Chinese. Expertly prepared Cantonese cuisine, at remarkably reasonable prices. Everything from Americanized Chinese classics to authentic Cantonese dishes are well represented. Don’t sleep on the Peking Duck. Jami was our server; she did a fantastic job. Ask for her.
The food was absolutely delicious and tasted incredibly authentic — you can tell a lot of care goes into every dish. The service was top tier from start to finish; everyone was attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcomed. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and an even better dining experience. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants in houston. My father (hong kong) started taking us here over 10 years ago. The food is super authentic and it exceeds at the other stuff too (looking at you fried rice). Recently their dim sum has improved vastly and we sometimes come here just for that but most of the time order authentic chinese noodles and dishes. Go see jamie and jenny - they run a tight and customer friendly/focused ship.
This place is a gem. The team of servers was warm, welcoming, and helpful. The food was excellent. We had soft shell crab, wonton soup, fried rice with Chinese sausage, water spinach sautéed with garlic, and chicken lo mein. Every item was fresh with deliciously complex flavors. We found the atmosphere inviting, too. There was a large family celebrating an 80th birthday, but the staff didn't miss a beat in their service to our table. I look forward to many more visits to East Wall in the future!
Good God. Truly a gem of Houston. An unassuming outside, once you sit down and receive your meal you quickly realize how consistently delicious each dish is. It's baffling. The food is always good. Personal favorites so far: the Eggplant Hotpot (which does have meat) layers savoriness and spice in perfect harmony while being served over an open flame. The flavors work together beautifully. By far its one of the best Asian dishes I've ever had. The Flat Noodles with Beef is also delicious and hearty. If you prefer something more familiar, the General Tsos Chicken is crispy without being dry and sweet but playfully spicy. The chef deserves a star on consistent quality alone, nevermind the relational and genuine service of the staff. We are unashamedly becoming regulars. Finally, as it deserves mentioning again, each of the servers is extremely kind and considerate. Jamie and Jenny go above and beyond; they have done so every time we visit. It makes a difference in an already enjoyable experience. Don't cheat yourself - give this place a shot.
Overall a great restaurant. Food came hot and seasoned well. Our party of 5 came during dead hours and only 1 server , but she food came out in a timely manner. Hong Kong style dishes, average to above average for prices. Parking in center is not great so be prepared to walk a bit, during peak hours you might need to park in garage. Food was great , the only disappointment would maybe be the portion sizes, should consider a bit more for what is charged
Peking duck is really awesome and delicious and quality and price are great. I added duck bone soup with extra $5 not bad. Wonton soup is good but seems different than the Hong Kong. Wonton soup I think. Mushroom with bok choy and sea cucumber dish is okay. Love mushrooms and bok choy though but sea cucumber seems not my favorite, it looks like sea cucumber version from Canada sold in Costco. Too tough, not like traditional good sea cucumber. Overall this restaurant offers quality food, and excellent service. Staff are attentive Highly recommended this restaurant and their Peking duck is fabulous
East Wall is our favorite restaurant for Peking duck as well as other dishes. We have been going there for at least 10+ years. Food is absolutely delicious! My son loves Peking duck and the bao/buns. I love their salted squid as well as stir-fried duck meat from the Peking duck. Service is top notch and you will not get that anywhere in Chinatown. Highly recommended this restaurant!!
I love exploring various restaurants to savor their unique flavors, and this one ranks among my absolute favorites. I truly wish I could award it more than five stars! The authentic Chinese cuisine here is exceptional, coming remarkably close—about 99.99%—to the genuine experience you would find in China. The service is outstanding, with attentive staff who enhance the overall dining experience. The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal. Plus, the cleanliness of the establishment is a significant bonus, adding to the overall appeal of this fantastic dining spot.
This was my first time ordering take-out from this very busy restaurant. Will definitely return. The BBQ pork fried rice was freaking amazing. Will definitely order again. The beef noodles were good, but did not digest as well next day. Tasted good, but maybe too oily in the end. Would not order egg rolls again, but want to try other items. They use fresh and good ingredients. Want to try something with vegetables next time. Will try Peking duck with rice in a couple of weeks.
East small restaurant is known for their Cantonese Chinese food. We arrived as a party of six around 7:30 PM on a Saturday evening and we do not have to wait for a table. Although we did have to wait about 20 minutes for food after we ordered. Overall, the vibe is lively, service is friendly in the food is decent. I would recommend the eggplant dish, stirfry noodles and the salt and pepper fish.
This restaurant is a go-to for us every Lunar New Year. The Peking duck is always perfectly crispy and tender, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. We especially look forward to the rice dessert they serve during the holiday – it’s a special treat that adds to the festive atmosphere. A great spot for both tradition and quality food!
I really wanted to like this place. I've been past it often and it's always busy so I put it in my mind to try. I ordered food to go. The inside is nice and the customer service is off the charts!!! It's very inviting. However, upon trying the food, I was disappointed. I had the Mongolian Beef. It had a decent portion size, but the beef was extremely tough. It was hard to enjoy. I will give it one more chance, however I will try something different. Also, depending on the day, especially the weekend, parking is CRAZY!!!! So bring your patience 😊
