After delight massages at the Soul Inn, my niece and I walked the area looking for something to eat. We lucked upon The Lao District and were happy for it! We shared the basil chicken (I think, this review is a couple of months late) and the Steak Tiger Cry which was the star of the show! While the basil chicken was delicious tasty, it is the steak tiger cry which has lured me back again and again. I live 45+ minutes away from Lao District but have made the drive twice so far just to get that steak. There's a lime juice/dip that comes with it. I like to pour it on the rice and also dip my steak in it. The steak is thinly slice and filled with flavor. One a subsequent visit, my mom ordered chicken. What can I say about it? Tasted like chicken 🤷‍♀️ If you visit, order whatever you like, but make sure to get the steak!

Great experience. All 4 dishes we ordered were delicious, great depth of flavor and presentation. Ordering on our phones was easy and food came out quickly. Veggies in the drunken noodles were still crisp, spice levels were spot on and drinks were great too. Really enjoyed the sous vide steak and the pork belly!

We ordered the roti canai, crying tiger steak, and drunken noodles w chicken. The drunken noodles was my favorite; the roti canai was a little thick and doughy but had good flavor, and the steak could have used a little more sear but was a large portion for the price. The ambiance was nice but the restaurant was overly scented with air freshener or cleaning products, which I did not care for. The service was fast and friendly.

I enjoyed the meal. Came during lunch so took advantage of the deal. The server took the time to explain how it works to order and was very friendly. Food was flavorful. Didn't enjoy the papaya salad but to be fair its my first time trying it so maybe I just don't enjoy papaya salad. I ordered the chicken basil and it was a good portion. Furthermore when eating it was not greasy or heavy so I felt good leaving. Food came out fast as well. Cons is the parking but otherwise I am willing to visit again.

Stopped by around lunch. The food was so so good! I had chicken drunken noodles, eggs rolls, and washed it down with the mango passion fruit juice. I loved the music and atmosphere. Super clean and tidy. The service is great. I like the menu system, how u can order online, pay and the food is then brought to u. I would definitely be coming back.

All dishes were great! I was really surprised since I never heard or tried Laotian dishes. The“steak tiger cry” and “nam vaan” were especially amazing. We ordered it medium rare and it was perfectly cooked with a savory smoky flavor. The papaya salad has 3 spicy levels. The medium level was really spicy even to my son who loves spicy food. So be careful when you choose spicy levels. All in all I highly recommend! :)

the service was fast, friendly, and attentive throughout our visit. prices were reasonable, and portion sizes were solid, making it a good value overall the roti was nicely layered with a satisfying char and was especially delicious when dipped into the red curry the crying tiger steak was easily the highlight of the meal. it was cooked to the perfect doneness, very tender, and had a great balance of lean and fatty pieces the drunken noodles had a great texture, not too hard or mushy, and weren't overly oily. there were plenty of vegetables mixed in, which we appreciated. however, it wasn't spicy at all :( the basil chicken was similar in that sense. the basil was very fragrant and aromatic, and there was a generous amount of meat, but again, it lacked any real spice the red curry leaned too sweet for our taste and was heavy on the coconut, which overpowered the curry flavor we were hoping for for dessert, the mango sticky rice had a strong coconut flavor and the mango itself was soft and sweet, but the sticky rice felt slightly undercooked the nam vaan was refreshing and packed with jelly and tropical fruits, making it fun to eat, but it was overwhelmingly sweet in all, the food was decent, but we were hoping for bolder flavors and more heat. the dishes could benefit from more depth, balance, and spice to really elevate the experience!

Delicious food, worth the visit! We really enjoyed our meal here. The spring rolls, drunken noodles with chicken, sticky basil fried rice, and Mekong wings were all full of flavor and generously portioned. A standout touch was the crispy basil leaves served with the wings—such a tasty detail! Spice levels are spot on, so definitely order with your heat preference in mind. One thing to note: Roger was handling the dining area solo during our visit, which meant that used dishes lingered a bit and we ended up grabbing our own drinks to save time. That said, he prioritized what mattered most—getting orders in and food out promptly, which we appreciated. All in all, a great spot with flavorful dishes and a kitchen that delivers.

We really enjoyed the drunken noodles and the roti — both were delicious and full of flavor. However, the crispy rice dish was a major disappointment. It was flavorless and easily one of the worst dishes I’ve had. Overall, a mixed experience: some great highlights, but definitely wouldn’t recommend the crispy rice.

Portion sizes were small for the price except for the Papaya Salad. Crack belly was too sweet and Mok Pa was fishy. Best dish was the Steak Tiger Cry. Sausage was okay. Won’t be back.

Stopped here for the $16 lunch special that’s advertised but it ended up being $19-20 a plate. The plates have a good serving but the noodles and rice were overcooked. Overall nice flavor but disappointing: Papaya salad was very good, drunken noodles soggy, basil chicken was alright, Vietnamese coffee too sweet, server was nice.

I came here as i saw the google review was 4.7. It was dead when we were there around 2pm. Server was very friendly. Mentioned the phone based menu was the way to go and phone based ordering was not always working well. I ordered the basil Thai chicken lunch combo. There was an up charge for chicken(over jerky) Chicken came out like ground chicken with seasoning on it. Very meh. See pics. Meal was $20 or so. Upcharge for many of the combinations like meats and drinks. Place was clean. For a Lao place, they were playing a mix of Mexican and rap music…. Very out of place. I hope this review helps. Not sure how this place got a 4.7 star review. Again server was doing what he could to be nice and attentive. :)
