Què diuen els clients de Saigon Pagolac
Saigon Pagolac is a long-standing Vietnamese restaurant known for its consistently good food and friendly service. The 7 course beef meal and the grilled whole fish are highly recommended. Some find the nuoc mam weak or the 7 course beef lacking flavor.

Awesome quality and portion is huge. Best food in Houston. Tasty n worth every bite. I am Indian origin but love Vietnamese food.
Been going here for 10 years ever since college. Never disappoint. Yes it's true that the service can be slow at time and the restaurant is quite old but the taste remains same. Still see the same lovely waitress working there for years. This restaurant deserves a bit more love :)
The food here is delicious and clean, and the service is excellent. I highly recommend everyone come here.
The food was excellent, my table and I got 2 seven course beef meals and it was just a blend of just delicious meats with lovely herbs as well and just overall shows true authentic Vietnamese seven course beef meals that aren’t as popular yet underrated and I give my flowers to this restaurant it is absolutely delicious !!
This place has been around forever. With our server literally being there the last 20 years. She was great, always topped off our drinks and made sure we always had enough veggies. This place has unlimited veggies and will never charge you xtra. Food was on point , meat was sliced fresh , not frozen. The fish was very firm without being mushy. The sauces have always been the same recipe, without being overly salty. The only negative about the place would be that it is not updated and trendy like current crop of places that have popped up all along Bellaire. But they more than make up for it in the quality of the food. They also have a lunch special menu with prices that are unheard of with the current economy. An oldy that is still one of the best around.
A solid Vietnamese restaurant if you’re craving Bò Lá Lốt or looking for a wide variety of authentic dishes. I especially enjoyed their half chicken—it was flavorful and well-prepared. The Gà Rôti is my favorite: tender chicken with a rich, gravy-style broth and a soft egg on the side. It’s incredibly comforting and full of flavor. Service can be hit or miss, and the decor is a bit dated, but the food more than makes up for it. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!
I’ve been here since my childhood with my family who enjoys the 7 course beef. It’s pretty filling and tasty, but one of the courses of beef is alphabet soup, which is super yummy but makes the price less worth it. But overall the food is great and the restaurant and service is good. Great place for all ages.
I would have to say this is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in all of Houston! It’s well known for their 7 beef course! I would often visit this establishment at least twice a month! I abs love getting the sizzling beef plates that you cook yourself and roll your own spring rolls. That’s the fun part about it. Second favorite dish would have to be the baked catfish! The skin is so crispy and the meat is tender. Service has always been great for me especially if I see the sweet old lady treat has been taking care of me for years! This will always be a go to favorite for my family. It’s almost like a tradition to come here for birthdays! loves it.
This place has been around forever it seems. I remember eating here as a child, and I have continued to dine here over the years with my children, family and friends. The food and service are great. I always come here for sizzling skillet meals. I order their shrimp, beef and calamari with lemongrass combo with the noodles and fat chitterlings. This is my favorite place to go for do it yourself roll ups in rice paper. The food is always on point and consistent. The building is old and the restrooms could use a major makeover, but the food quality is worth overlooking the restroom issues. This place is nostalgic for me as it brings back memories from my younger years and I'll keep coming back
Came for lunch. Love their grilled whole fish for wraps. Fish is so fresh tasting. Also had the beef on self grilling plate to wrap as well. This is our standard choice when we go here for lunch. They also have the 7 course/dish beef I highly recommend if you have not tried it. The beef on grill plate is one of the 7 course/beef dish that can be ordered separately. There's also option to order squid and shrimp (or combo of all) to grill but beef is my favorite goto. Food is very tasty and their grilled fish is a must to try. They provide plenty of vegetables to add to your wrap you have to be careful not to add too much else you can't make the roll.
The whole fish is the highlight of this place. It's a whole catfish that is fried then broiled topped with green onions, peanuts, fried shallots. It was very good with a Crispy skin and moist meat inside. Very fun to so make the sorting rolls with it. We also got the bo nuong vi with the lemongrass beef and seafood platter. They oil the plate and the meat with some kind of vegetable oil and not using butter which was a disappointment because the butter would have given it better flavor and crisp. The cons on this place was the lack of AC (that have multiple fans around the room that will blow hot air on you) and the service was very slow. We had to get up several times to ask for drinks or napkins and even waited 15 minutes after our spring rolls were delivered to get the dipping fish sauce. Maybe they need to hire more wait staff? Or poor waiter was running around like crazy and still couldn't keep up... we tipped him extra for the effort
The salad that was served was fresh, not your typical salad dressing, but the shrimp dressing was good. The carrots are the best!! You get to grill your own meat, shrimp, squid and wrap it in a thin clear tortillas. The catfish was crunchy and good. They give you a separate water bowl to wash your hands :)
Visited here today and had a nice dinner. We ordered the Bo La Lot which is ground beef wrapped in Hawaiian leaf and grilled over charcoal. We added the Banh Hoi which is the steamed thin vermicelli. It was totally a new experience for me rolling up my own spring rolls. It was actually fun! I typically get the shrimp and pork spring rolls but the beef was definitely an interesting taste. It came with the rice paper, vegetables (cucumber, plantains and carrots) and greens (watercress, and lettuce). All of the fixings that you need to make your very own personalized spring roll. I typically dip mine in peanut sauce (I am addicted), and eventually started adding it to my roll before I rolled it up. The decor is plain, but it is spacious enough so that you don't feel swamped. As someone mentioned, the noise level is above average, but it does not negatively impact on your own individual conversations. Our waitress was awesome. She kept refilling my water, and was available should we need anything. I wouldn't mind visiting and trying this place again.
We thought we'd try this since it's been around for a long time. TBH: a little disappointed. Service was extremely slow and there were only 3 tables of customers. Pork chop was tough. The 7 course before was not much to get excited over.. Tough dry meat, sad looking vegetables. "Pho" had alphabet noodles...(???). I can see how this was the only joint in town at one point, but surviving from this point will be hard without a completely new paradigm.
1st time dinning here. Tried 7 course beef, it was extremely disappointing. There was no flavor to any of the beef. The stinky dipping sauce looked so watered down. Tried same dishes at a different restaurant & this did not come close. When the food was placed on the table, the 1st impression was wth, what is this? The beef congee was definitely not congee, it was pasta! Asked the manager & he said it's called congee because they don't have a word for pasta. Will NEVER come back to this place again.
