We are beyond grateful to King’s Hawaiian Bakery for creating the most beautiful and delicious wedding cake for our special day! From the very beginning, Monique went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. She was so kind, professional, and genuinely cared about bringing our vision to life. The cake was not only stunning to look at but absolutely heavenly to taste — light, moist, and perfectly balanced in flavor. Our guests are still talking about it! Monique’s warm spirit and attention to detail made the entire process such a joy, and we couldn’t have asked for a sweeter experience (literally and figuratively!). Thank you, Monique and the King’s Hawaiian Bakery team, for being such an important part of our wedding day. You truly made it extra special! While we were there we enjoyed yummy food too first time there the service was great! Did I mentioned they give your warm fresh Hawaiian rolls.

I ended up coming here three times in just two days — and honestly, I would’ve gone again if I could. That should tell you everything. From the moment you step inside, there’s this unmistakable aloha energy — warm, welcoming, and unhurried. The staff greets you like family, and there’s this genuine sense that they care about every plate that leaves the kitchen. It’s rare to find a restaurant that feels this personal in a city as big as LA. The saimin hit all the right nostalgic notes — light, flavorful broth, chewy noodles, and comforting simplicity that feels like home in a bowl. The tonkatsu curry was hearty and rich, the kind of dish that makes you slow down just to appreciate it. And the mochi donuts? A dream — soft yet chewy with so many creative flavors that it’s impossible to pick just one favorite. But the real star for me was the King’s Hawaiian dinner rolls. I’ve had them in grocery stores before, but fresh from the source, they’re on another level — slightly sweet, buttery, and so pillowy soft that you just want to tear them apart and eat them plain. The ambience sealed the experience — bright, open, and full of that Kihei, Maui vibe: relaxed, friendly, with the scent of baked goods in the air and a hum of happy conversation all around. It’s the kind of place where families linger, friends laugh over coffee, and time just feels slower — in the best possible way. Everything — the food, the people, the atmosphere — reminded me why Hawaiian hospitality is so special. It’s more than service; it’s heart. And King’s Hawaiian delivers that effortlessly. If you’re ever in LA, make this your first stop (and probably your second and third too). 🌺✨

I am changing my ratings of this place due to always receiving good customer service and good food except for the one time in Oct 2025 in which I gave the negative ratings but Alex responded right away and gave me the full refund for the cakes and even contacted me personally to apologize. I appreciate all the effort Alex put in to give me customer satisfaction. Thank you and I will continue to come here for the food and cakes! I've always loved eating here and ordering the cakes and bakery items but I was very disappointed today. I drive at least an hour and a half just to pick up cakes here for my kids' and my family's cakes. Today I ordered the the Paradise Delight cake for my son's bday and the Paradise Cheesecake for my sister's bday. Ordered it online and requested message on my son's cakes "Advance Happy Birthday and Congrats on your new place Marin! They wrote very sloppily to the point that it's illegible and my son's name was misspelled! And as for my sister's cake, they didn't cross the "t" on "Belated" and also misspelled my sister's name which was Cel not Cell! Just so very disappointed that I paid $102 for the cakes and drove almost 2 hours only to see the messages on the cakes so messed up! Clearly the messages on both cakes were written in a hurry and they obviously didn't even proofread before handing me the cakes or they just really didn't care about the appearance of the cakes!

Classic restaurant that's been a staple in the neighborhood. Food is good bakery is fun. The service was top notch. Coffee cup was kept full. Try the oxtail soup.

Great place to eat. I was worried about not having a reservation because of the well known name but it was a large place with plenty of parking and we were seated immediately. The food was amazing. I had the King scramble which was great but the hash browns were out of this world. The staff was attentive friendly and courteous. Henry was our server and he was the best!

Walking up to the restaurant, we were greeted by a man in a Hawaiian shirt sporting a fresh lei who happily exclaimed “enjoy!!” to us as we passed by. And that is how we knew we were where we needed to be. King’s Hawaiian Bakery and Restaurant has the answer to all of your problems. Can’t decide on dinner? King’s Hawaiian. Bad day at work? King’s Hawaiian. Too many drinks the night before? King’s Hawaiian. Once we sat down inside the restaurant, we were greeted with a basket of six warm Hawaiian sweet rolls. Heaven in a basket am I right? We ordered the Mix Plate to split and it was more than enough. Everything was so delicious! We finished the night off with a slice of Paradise Cake, which had the perfect amount of sweetness. Throughout our meal, all the tables around us were beaming with joy and it felt like home. Their menu is robust and there are so many options to choose from for whatever mood you are in. They even have breakfast all day. Their bakery menu items all looked amazing and you can even buy a bag of ground Hawaiian coffee! If we had one of these in Georgia, I am confident my family and I would frequent every month, if not weekly. I’ve already asked my husband if we can fly back out here for my birthday. We’ll see?

I fly to LA for concerts several times per year and never explore the food scene beyond tacos, but this trip was different. TikTok got me. They seated me before my reservation time! I couldn’t have asked for better service. Although several menu items aren’t available until 11am, I was able to put in my order 10 minutes prior so it came out shortly after 11. I opted for the french toast with macadamia nuts and Lava Bulgogi, with a pineapple oatmeal cookie from the bakery for dessert. I will never be satisfied with a regular oatmeal cookie again, this place had ruined me. My biggest regret is not getting the pineapple tres leches cake as well. I will return as this is only 20 minutes south of LAX and the bakery options are actually insane.

King’s Hawaiian Bakery & Restaurant is always such a treat! The food is amazing, the service is warm and welcoming, and the whole experience instantly reminds me of being in Hawaii. The mochi donuts are absolutely incredible—soft, chewy, and full of flavor. Totally worth the visit every time. A perfect spot when you’re craving comfort food with that island touch.

I only checked out the baked goods. It was busy! Busy enough you have to pull a number at the baked goods counter, but the waitbwas short. Haven't tried the desserts yet, but my eye was drawn to the haupia mocha cake, banana pie, key lime pie, a triple chocolate cupcake, and I can vouch that the walnut brownie is pretty good. The prices were only $4 per dessert for most things. The vibe was kinda like a Hawaiian version of Cracker Barrel in the sense it has a mini store and a restaurant. I'd love to check out the restaurant side sometime. Apparently they even do wedding cakes.

From the bakery to the restaurant this place has the most flavorful food you will find. We had the chance to taste their mimosa flight and it was so delicious! We even had a large party and they accommodated us without hesitation.

Found this place when visiting my cousin. It's such a cute place. Makes me feel like I'm in Hawaii. They have a bakery inside or you can sit and order food from the menu. We were seated fairly quickly even. Love the warm Hawaiian bread they give you while you wait for your food. The dishes are really good portions. I had the Kalbi sliders. Building is old and musty. Needs renovation. Definitely negatively impacts the first impression.. The hostess was very sweet. The server wasn't the most accommodating/ personable. Breakfast being served ONLY until 11am. So that was a bummer. Sweets from the counter were pretty good. Worth checking out if you're passing through. Salsa for the breakfast burrito was really good.

I had such high expectations for this restaurant, as it came so highly recommended by a true foodie. I believe that even the best cook can have an off day, unfortunately my visit seemed to fallen on such a day. I started with the spam musibi and it was okay, as I would have liked for the spam to have been fried a little harder. The teriyaki sauce seemed a little off to me, but my friend enjoyed it. We ordered the highly renowned oxtail soup, but it seemed unfinished - the oxtail were tough and the broth seemed to have been a little rushed. The flavor was there, but it needed to feel the ohana of cooking longer to bring about the rich taste they are known for. So we moved onto the Korean beef short ribs... now this was a winner! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Their macaroni sald is delicious. The Passion Orange Guava juice is perfection and a large serving size too. We also enjoyed the Dragon Fruit wine cooler. The hot macchiato came in a coffee cup from a machine and I would not recommend it, but my friend enjoyed it. Our server Sarah was okay. Next time I am in the area, I might give them on more try.
