Little hole in the wall joints are my favorite type of places. Each time I've been here found something new. Usual order is the beef noodle soup and Chinese burrito. Both are excellent. This past visit, discovered the mapo tofu and pig ears. Almost all of the clientele are of Chinese descent, so it must be good!
Amazing food!! Beef noodle soup is delicious!! The owners are super friendly.
The best beef noodle soup in the area. The beef is of excellent quality, with a very rich broth.
Little hole in the wall with legit beef noodles. It's not as good as the best in 626, but it's good enough that I have nothing but praise if you're already in Torrance. Would I make a special trip here? No. But cheap and tasty for the locals!
Even though I can't speak a bit of Chinese and ordering food gives me anxiety, I still do it, because the food is delicious. Beef noodle soup and pork chop rice are two of my favorite dishes here. I also love their cold dishes.
Screw Ding Tai Fung... Sue’s Kitchen is the bomb! Get the authentic Taiwanese experience. Their noodles are made in house and some of the best in the area including San Gabriel (Mama Lu’s caliber!) Service is... well Asian service but they’re nice enough. Try the stuffed “Chinese Burrito” and classic Beef Noodle soup. Really a hidden gem in Torrance.
The food is authentic! I liked their Taiwanese beef noodle soup, the cold appetizer dish reminds me of hometown flavor back from China.
The Chinese waiter/server is always nice, eventhough He don’t speak english that much, He always smile, We always order take out here, affordable and authentic chinese food.
Amazing hole in the wall spot for some great Taiwanese food. I highly recommend their dumplings as well as dan dan noodles. Opt to always carry cash, since their machine sometimes goes down.
Excellent authentic Szechuan food. The only decent authentic Chinese restaurant in all of the Southbay. Their pig ears are amazing. You will leave with a numb mouth and a happy tummy.
It's a small place to eat so expect line when its busy hours. I usually do take out. Love the spicy beef stew soup here. And also the food at the counter (look like slice tongue, ear, cucumber, seaweed etc.). And also they have other food on the menu....its chinese what can I say😂😁😁😁
Local mom and pop authentic Chinese noodles, dumplings. Easy on the pocket book and yummy in the tummy. This is NOT Panda Express style chinese food.
I have been coming to this place since 95’s when a couple ran this place. The husband was a teacher retired from Taipei top high school (建中). After changing ownership for 2-3 times since 2000’s, new owners keep the original restaurant English name yet maintain quality, recipe, and taste of the "original" beef noodle soup! This place is the oldies and goodies!!
A very authentic Chinese food experience coming from a Taiwanese gal. Our favorite dishes were the fried chicken leg rice (reminded me so much of the bentos I would eat in Taiwan when I was young), mapo tofu, and wontons in spicy chili oil. The owners/chefs don't speak very much English, but they were super nice and accommodating. (Usually that's how you know a place is legit!)
Not much to look at, but their beef noodle soup is the most authentic flavor in SoCal for as long as I can remember for over 30 years. Just $10 including taxes in 2023! I think they should charge a few bucks more to stay business. I hope they stick around...
Sue's Kitchen is a special place. The hot braised beef soup is some of the best soup I have ever had. Don't expect much in terms of service or atmosphere. Just sit down, order the number one and some side dishes and get ready for an amazing meal. If food quality is most important to you and you are a fan or pho or ramen then you have to try this.
Amazing little place. My girl and I ordered the beef stew noodle soup, Dan Dan noodles, onion pancake, and wonton in chili oil. The latter two were whatever but the noodle dishes come in huge portions and are pretty good. The best thing part is that the owner is super sweet. Idk about the dude who served us though. He was eating when we walked in and asked us to take a seat with his lips covered in chili oil.
Love this place. I've been coming here for over 15 years and it has never disappointed. It's changed owners once or twice in that time period, but the quality hasn't suffered. Get the #1 Hot Braised Stew Beef Noodle Soup (with tendon), request the fat noodles and thank me later. Not super spicy, but has a solid kick. Bok choy, cilantro, and green onions add great color, texture, and flavor. They don't skimp on the cold side dishes, so be sure to head up to the counter before you order your mains and grab some to munch on while you wait. My personal faves are spicy peanuts, spicy sliced beef stomach, shredded pork ear, and the mustard greens. Pick three from their selection and they'll stack it high on a little plate. I'll be back when I crave that beef noodle.
Hands down the most authentic, the best beef noodle house in all of Torrance and within 5 miles radius. The price they charge has been and still is amazing in today's economy in 2024 and I come here everyday for their beef noodle soup. Other places would easily charge the same beef noodle soup for 18 dollars a bowl. Like the other reviews said, the restuarant is pretty bare bone and has no decoration, holes to the walls but in my opinion is a plus unironically. Because I'm here to eat good noodles and not here to pay for them to put up fancy decorations. I recommend ordering beef noodle soup with wide noodles instead of regular thin noodles, wide noodles just taste better for me and feels better to chew on. I also recommend their Szechwan Style Cold Noodles. Sweet, a bit sour and packs lots of heat. You can't really find this dish anywhere else closeby.
Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - ordered a Chinese Style Beef Burrito (#27), Chinese Cold Dish 3 Items Meat (#38), and a Clear Broth Braised Tendon Noodle Soup (#2). The beef burrito was crispy on the edges and filled to the brim with beef. The cold dishes were marinated well but heavy on the cilantro for the seaweed salad. The beef tendon soup was great in flavor but slightly spicy even though we asked for a clear broth. Service: 5/5 - expect Chinese restaurant service that is quite to the point but quick Ambiance: 5/5 - small shop but the tables were clean Value for price: 5/5 - food was great, pricing is competitive, but they do round some of the pricing with tax. Their menu shrank but the main items are delicious, and we appreciate the focus on their main items instead. The quality is much better this time and we enjoyed all of the food. --------------------------------- December 5, 2022 Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 - unfortunately I feel like their quality has dropped over the years and the soup/sides have become very oily. This used to be our go to place for the last 2 decades but we have frequented it less since it's not always consistent (1) Hot Braised Stew Tendon became a beef and tendon soup rather than just tendon. The noodles and protein was great but the soup was mostly chili oil taste rather than a beef stew flavor. (4) Clear Broth Braised Beef Noodle Soup was good but again, didn't taste much of a beef stew. The beef was tender and soft and the noodles were starting to absorb the flavor of the soup but there was something off about the flavor that didn't feel like a "beef" soup. (66) 2 Meat & 1 Veggie Cold Dish of spicy beef stomach, shredded pork ear, and seaweed. Flavored nicely but all three dishes were really oily and become slighty quesy as we ate through our meal Ambience: 2/5 - while it is a hole in the wall place, there seems to be a lack of upkeep as it feels like the place is becoming more dingy every time we go. While it seems like they wipe the table after each customer, it felt sticky when we sat down. Service: 1/5 - he was very dismissive of us and was annoyed that we didn't know what we wanted the moment we sat down. He was sitting behind the counter watching videos on his phone and you have to walk up to the counter to get anything else Value for price: 4/5 - the price is still reasonable but the quality of the food has gone down
Got the beef noodle soup and the beef roll. Both tasted pretty legit and authentic. The soup was a little spicy for us but for most people it should be fine. We were very pleased to find that the meat was quite lean The beef roll dough is a bit special, they use scallion pancake dough which adds a little extra flavour. Total came to $19, which is an absolute steal for the pretty good portions and great flavour. Will be coming back for more.
Very good beefy noodle soup. And the cold side dishes is a must try. Best in Torrance CA for sure
I've known this place for a few years now. The food has always been pretty good and really affordable, although a little on the saltier side. It's really hard to find a place that has noodle soup at $6.60 price point. The portion is big, beef is very tender. I have to tell them to make it less salty beforehand for it to come out just right.

Sue’s Kitchen is a family favorite! The atmosphere is 5/5, food is a 10/5 if I could give it that rating, the people 5/5. Everyone is so sweet, and I hope this business continues to stay. All the small appetizers never disappoints, beef noodle soup is amazing, stir fry is so flavorful. Hands down, best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to!
Not the best environment tbh, but you can trust the noodles and appetizers here! Yet to try more, will keep coming back! Also portion of noodles is pretty big for its prize. Owner is very kind!

have not been here since the pandemic. food is still very good, customer service still sucks. I think management docks the pay of any service staff who cracks a smile or exhibits any hint of being pleasant. I really missed this place. I came here for the food , not to be showered with love and affection.
The best beef noodle in the South Bay. Fried rice is good but hit and miss. Some days way better than others. Good appetizers and selection.
Love the beef noodle soup and the dumplings are great too. Nothing fancy here just honest good ol home cooking.
Fried fish plate. I've been coming here since I was in high school. I took a two year hiatus because there was a really rude waiter there, but I decided on a whim to visit today. It's as good as it always is. Other favorites Dan Dan noodles, beef noodle soup, all their side dishes, chili oil wontons. Make a visit!

The food here is great, and very good value for the price. The beef noodle soup reminds me of Taiwan, and the side dishes are nice and refreshing. The service here is pretty non-existent, but this place is really just about the food. I come back to this place again and again because I just love their food.

The ambiance is very basic. The food was too oily for my taste. The Chow Mein noodles were dripping in oil. The chinese burrito was very oily as well. The price is very good.
Beef noodles soup, broth ok. But tofu skin too hard.
One of the rare Mandarin Chinese Food Spot in the City, Very Affordable & Humble Service.

Apparently the food didn’t taste nearly the same as last year. Prices went up almost doubled! Hot and sour soup tasted like egg drop soup, very plain. Pancake? Flour folded in layers and pan fried, again no taste at all. I had to make some vinegar and soy sauce to dip it in. Green beans with meat, there was no meat in it and swimming in oil! No more going back there. Very disappointed!
I started to visit this place in 2014, and both my wife and I like it because of its quality food and acceptable price. We usually visit this place every two or three weeks, especially in weekends. Due to the pandemic, we didn’t visit this place for months. I recently notice that the price of almost everything has increased more than 20% (e.g. a meat box used to be $7 before 05/2021, but now it is $9). Alright, I like this place and I wish I can help it survive during pandemic by paying more. However, how come it ended up that I pay more but receive stale food and bad service??? I won’t go this place any more.
Going downhill ever since last management change. Hit bottom. Tasteless good with non existing service. The only visible employee working there did not utter a single word the whole way starting from when we walked in. Appeared to be annoyed that we interrupted his phone time. Our table top was sticky to the touch, very gross. Been coming here since late 70's when the owner was actually named Sue. Sad
Very tiny place, authentic mainland China food. Walking on a worker was napping on the table. I ordered a beef soup, not impressed, too much salty soup not much food. Same as "beef onion", maybe they run out of beef, the whole plate was white onions. There is better place I will try....
If you are African American do not patronize this place! They are racist and speak little to no English and motioned for me to leave the store when I asked for soy sauce for my $14. Purchase. If they spoke better English I would have asked for a refund and left the store! The cook watched me the entire time I was waiting for my food. Very uncomfortable environment.
The beef noodle soup is alright but the noodles aren’t handmade. Fried pork chop is garbage - salty and dry. The cold noodles are mixed in with the sauce for to-go rather than putting the sauce on the side.
Zero star! We used to like this place, it still tastes good, but the tables are sticky AND in our to-go noodles, we found numerous BUGS on the vegetables. Very very gross.
Very funny, They charge 8.5 for a box of vegetables and then you can choose two meats and one vegetable. The most interesting thing is that he gave me three-quarters of the vegetables and only gave me one-quarter of the meat. So stingy?

I have ordered a combination of cold dishes on their menu. The price listed on their menu is #50 @$6.90 for 1 meat and 2 vegetables. They charged me $8, i.e. 16% on tax. They said the tax is correctly charged! I went into their bathroom through the kitchen. It is disgusting to see the hygienic condition of the kitchen. All staff do not speak English and are very rude.
I thought we were the only ones who had problems with the service and the food. By looking at the reviews, there were many of the complains already. If we looked at these reviews before we went to this restaurant, we would never go there. Well, we had the same issue. The service was very bad. I think the guy served us having a very bad temper. We had serious stomach problems after we had lunch there. Never go back again!
run down place, pork chop tasted sour, most of menu items couldn’t order since kitchen fan broken, scared to eat the food. also was empty on a Thursday evening.
I had initially thought my experience with this restaurant was an isolated incident. Several months ago, I had lunch there and suffered from severe diarrhea shortly afterward. However, just last week, two friends and I dined at the same restaurant, and all three of us experienced gastrointestinal distress — including one person who also vomited. Additionally, we all felt excessively thirsty after the meal, which raises concerns about the possible use of heavy MSG or other additives. This establishment appears to have serious health and food safety issues that warrant further attention.
I recently had a deeply disappointing experience at Sue's Kitchen. While the food has never been particularly impressive, I’ve occasionally stopped by due to its proximity to my office. A few weeks ago, I discovered that this restaurant had altered my credit card charge by increasing the tip amount by an additional 10%, despite the fact that I had already left a 15% tip. I brought this to their attention with the original receipt and credit card statement, and they assured me it wouldn’t happen again. Unfortunately, during my most recent visit, I noticed they had increased the price of my usual order. When I inquired, they insisted the price had been the same since opening and responded with an aggressive and disrespectful attitude. This pattern of dishonesty and poor customer service is unacceptable, and I will not be returning!!!
