My friend and I always go out of way to visit this location for the Chicken Curry. It's a two hour drive for us with traffic. The food and staff are always exceptional.
Love this place! Got the tonkatsu and it is perfectly crispy and juicy! The spice level chart is kind of hard to gage because it goes from 1-20. I got the 3 and it was fairly spicy but still palatable although may be too spicy for some so be wary!
Great Curry with lots of options. Prices are reasonable, staff is always friendly and attentive, food is good, available with many topping and spice levels. Great place for Japanese curry.
Every day during my walk, I pass by this place and always felt curious. Today, finally had the chance to explore it. From the menu card to the kitchen, everything is very clear especially the spice-level customisation, which is well explained and perfectly structured. As a chef, I had several questions about new recipes. The service team Derik and another staff member explained the menu patiently and in detail. Even when they weren’t sure about something, they politely checked with their superior and came back with clear, accurate answers. That level of professionalism really stood out.I’m truly happy with both the food and the service. Consistency, clarity, and respect for the guest—well done ❤️
I've been going to this location since they first opened around 2011. Apparently they were the 1st US store. I just had to try it out after playing the Curry House CoCo Ichibanya PS2 game (Try it if you can find it.) Service and food quality has always been great. I love the customization options. I usually get the pork katsu curry with fired squid and spicy level 4.
1st time 12/09, location can be seen right off the Blvd. Plenty of parking when we arrived. Greeted upon entry and seated no wait. Menu is large and labeled and provides details to ordering your plate. Ordered Chicken cutlet with veggies and rice spice level 2...for a spicy eater it was like less spicy than Tapatio and ordered Garlic Naan, Side Salad and Omelet with Chicken Cutlet with veggies, also a Kids C plate 2 nuggets 2 corn doggies, corn, fries and a small cup of curry and came with a small squishy toy. Food was really good. We will be returning.
A Japanese restaurant serves delicious food. Curry reminds me my Indian curry. Rice, curry and vegetable croquette is a great dish for vegetarian. Croquette and curry are delicious. Just pick the curry , add rice and topping, it’s done. We always preorder the meal on mobile to avoid waiting time their .
This is a great location! The parking is convenient, the staff was exceptionally friendly, and the food is phenomenal. I got back from a trip to Japan a few months ago, so I was really craving Cocoichi curry- No other curry compares. This isn't quite as good as over there, but it's still VERY good. Highly recommended!
Nice restaurant in good location. Plenty of free self parking. Lots of indoor seating. However, there's a strong curry scent as you walk in. Very appetizing! However, it will stick to your clothing, hair and skin. Wish they had better ventilation or outdoor patio. Arrived there on a Wednesday around 4pm. Wasn't very busy. Was greeted and escorted to table quickly. Very attentive/friendly service. The menu has lots of options to choose from. We ordered the omelette with chicken cutlet and vegetables, and chicken cutlet and rice. You get the option to select level of spiciness and amount of rice. Both plates were excellent. The Curry is very flavorful. I didn't not like the vegetables (potatoes carrots and green beans) as they tasted a bit off and I didn't seem to have been stewed in the curry for any time. Overall, it's good.
Best Coco Curry House I have been too in the U.S, hands down! We had pork cutlet curry spicy level 5 with spinach! Great combo! Another important feature of this restaurant is they proved plenty of pickled radish and tonkatsu sauce! Much appreciated! Great food, awesome service and if I closed my eyes I might just think I was back in Japan! Keep up the great work and I’ll keep coming back!
This place is amazing best Japanese curry spot or any curry spot for that matter in the South Bay. Been addicted to this spot for the past year. Highly recommend!

A fantastic first venture into the popular Japanese-style curry enterprise. The restaurant itself was very sleek and modern, and service was quick and efficient. For the meal itself, I ordered the …
I love this place so much! I love the curry here and the service is great. The ambiance is pretty nice and they have a very nice menu.
Great tonkatsu for cheap. Inside is sleek, and modern making for a clean environment. Service is fast and excellent
We probably hit up this Japanese curry chain more often than we should, but hey--comfort food calls. Despite a menu full of options, we shamelessly stick to our favorites. We typically skip the appetizers at most places... except when it comes to Coco's keema cheese fries. Do yourself a favor and ORDER them. Share if you must--but honestly, don't. You can choose your spice level, and we like to crank it up for these--level 6 on a regular day, level 9 if we're feeling stressed and need to sweat it out. For mains, our usual go to * Chicken Cutlet Curry - solid 7/10 * Pork Cutlet Omelet Curry - my personal favorite * Keema Omelet Curry - decent, but I'd rather stick to the fries for my keema fix Service is honestly always good here, nothing to say. We dine in often, but sometimes give in to delivery... though be warned: they have a troubling habit of forgetting parts of the cutlet and sometimes the whole cutlet :(. And what's curry without the cutlet? I honestly would like to give this place 5 stars, especially for a chain I typically would never, buuuuuut the delivery is almost always an issue for us, for that reason I have to bump it down...
The food and service at the Coco Ichibanya Torrance location were perfect, as always. The staff was attentive, and my curry was absolutely delicious. I consistently have a great experience here. My only frustration is that this is the second time I’ve been to a Coco Ichibanya (this one and a different location, at two different times of day/night) and they didn’t have iced coffee available, even though it's still listed on the menu. If it’s not something they sell anymore, it would be helpful if they could take it off the menu to avoid confusion. Despite that small issue, I love this place and will definitely be back for the amazing food!
Came here to sample the omelette curry offerings that the mainland Curry House offers since the ones in Hawaii doesnt. Open late in Torrance, came here straight off the plane to eat. Unfortunately due to the shortage of eggs they were out of omelettes for the day😥 Ended up ordering a Chicken cutlet curry with vegetables and added cheese..... this place also can add spice levels so did the level 3....was a good kick🤙 Service and food was good, would return again to try the elusive omelette again. 4 stars
This is a Japanese curry specialty shop originating from Japan. I have visited it in Japan and Hong Kong. The shop mainly serves Japanese curry food, and customers can also choose different levels of spiciness. The decoration of the restaurant is simple but very clean, and the service is good. The food variety is not too many, but the quality is also very high. We chose level 3 spiciness, which is not too spicy and suits our taste.
Food was good, but not good enough for over a 90 minute wait to be seated. We were initially told 20-25 minutes which was ok at the time. After waiting 35 minutes I asked hostess status and she r…

The food was really delicious. All the female workers were very nice, friendly, and kind. Everyone comes to sit, talk and enjoy their food environment.
love the food ! there is limited parking and space inside. the wait time is very long, you have to wake up early or go on a weekday in order for you to be seated in a timely manner.
Coco curry was a bit of a let down. Obviously I cant compare it to Japan, but I can still say it's ok. Order fries with curry and cheese, it took 15 mins and came out cold and cheese was not melted. Got our curries but our server forgot the utensils and napkins, granted they were busy for a tuesday night. The wait was super long too, about 30-40mins, you come in and sign in. The curry, I got a level 2 spice, and it's definitely a good level and is accurate to how I remember it. The flavor is there and the pork katsu was good too, but the curry im not sure if it's because it was ki d of Luke warm that it wasn't that good? It wasn't terrible, but definitely nothing special. The experience in itself with lukewarm and cold food was not great. We did ask a server to heat up the food again. Generally nice servers just very chaotic.
The food has great consistency whenever you go. It is a good Japanese curry. However, the service is not good. Overall, you don’t feel hospitality. Hosts and wait staffs are very robotic and they are just doing their job nothing more. I don’t recommend chicken katsu cheese curry not because it is bad, it is bit difficult to eat. It tastes still good.
Food quality is consistently excellent. However they don't even bother to take your order. You have to order on their website, prepay and pre-tip (minimum 18%) before you get your food. Service is way below standard. Long wait to receive your food after ordering (and paying). Long wait for a table during peak dining hours. Small/crowded dining area extremely lound. I guess we will just have to put up with everything if we want their (delicious) curry.
I ordered 20 minutes ahead and still waited another 20. I asked for stewed beef ( only a 4 pieces for $7 additional), sausage (tasty but seen better days), and veges which was just 3 potatoes piece…

Awful customer service. After complaining with our order because the other tables got their, none chalantly saying oh the chicken takems so and so? They mainly serve chicken cutlets! Horrible!
I rarely leave reviews and hardly feel the urge to leave negative ones at that, but this one was a real doozy. I’ve also frequented other CoCo Ichibanya locations. My husband and I were waiting for a table and signed up for the waitlist. After a number of parties were sat, we were called up and asked if we wanted a counter or if we’d like to wait for a tab. We said we’d wait for a table. After 10+ minutes, they called a party of 2 that came in after us. We went up and asked about it, they replied they called us and gave our table away after 10 minutes. (If you’ve been here, it’s a very small waiting area and we were standing at the hostess stand—It was obvious they skipped us over). The girls working never apologized, and continued to gaslight us, saying our name was called or we missed our table or some other reason; rather than just apologize for their mistake? They finally call us up and told us to walk ourselves to the back, even though they had seated all the customers prior to us personally. So, we left and, I believe it was the floor manager who we informed we’re just going to head out, scoffed “ok” and seemingly rolled her eyes, and walked away. It’s very bizarre behavior and I’ve never experienced service like this. Reading the other Google reviews, I see this is a common trend at this location. Rude, semi-aggressive service staff. I get it’s busy and you may be stressed but it’s a fast casual curry restaurant, like…come on. Coming from the service industry, we all know to fake it til you make it. It’s not that hard to apologize, even a fake one. For management, this was the Friday night shift on 1/23.
