Opinions de Capo Mediterranean Kitchen Belmont
An excellent casual dining place for delicious Mediterranean food. Excellent dishes prepared with rice or salad choices with amazing protein choices of chicken, spitfire chicken and falafel for vegetarians. Very fresh salad with radishes, tomatoes and cucumbers.. Grilled chicken and falafel dishes were delicious and very well grilled with lots of flavor and freshness. Ask for spicy sauce if you are looking to scale your experience up. Beer and basic variety of Pinot Noir also available which actually goes well with the grilled food. Highly recommend this place if you are in Belmont area..
Ordered the chicken kabobs. 2 skewers with white meat. Tasty and moist. Sides were great too. Pita was heated which is better than other restaurants where they just give you a pita straight out of a plastic bag. Service was good. It was busy, the employee gave me an estimate that my order would take 15 minutes or so. Friendly service bringing out my entree to my table with a bottle of hot sauce and flatware. I would certainly eat here again.
Food Review: Capo Mediterranean Kitchen – Chicken Skewer Kebab Capo Mediterranean Kitchen delivers a flavorful take on the classic chicken skewer kebab, and it’s a dish that really stands out. The chicken is marinated to perfection—juicy, tender, and packed with bold Mediterranean spices that balance smokiness with a hint of citrus. Each bite carries that authentic char-grilled taste without being overly heavy. The presentation is clean and inviting: the skewers are served alongside fresh sides that complement the dish beautifully. Paired with fluffy rice and a crisp Mediterranean salad, the meal feels both hearty and refreshing. The tzatziki sauce is a highlight—creamy, tangy, and the perfect cooling counterpart to the seasoned chicken. What really makes this kebab shine is the consistency. The chicken is cooked evenly, never dry, and the flavors stay true to traditional Mediterranean cooking while feeling modern and approachable. It’s the kind of dish that works just as well for a casual lunch as it does for a satisfying dinner. ⭐ Rating: 4.7/5 – A must-try for anyone craving authentic Mediterranean flavor with top-notch quality.
We ordered five dishes for carry out and were very happy with all of them. I’m glad we finally tried capo after driving by it for years. We’ll be back
I would like to thank Mr Emre very much for his attention; everything was incredible. I particularly recommend the chips and salad.
Great experience at Capo today! The food was awesome and the service was really nice too. Will be back there soon. We had the lamb and beef rice plate.
I visited California and had dinner at Capo Medierrian Kitchen .Besides the good food the best experience was how friendly is the staff there. Emre the guy who helped us made a fresh home made style Turkish Coffe which made us to feel we are back home. I really recommend to everyone ,if you want to experience good service and warm hospitality this is place.
It is a cozy space with amazing food. + Rich flavored dishes + Exceptionally clean and elegant decoration + Very friendly owner(I think).
Capo is our nearest and favorite Mediterranean place …. any day, any time ! Quick stopover after grocery ? Capo. Order for home delivery ? Capo. Catch a quick lunch before an afternoon full of chores ? Capo. We love Capo ! The food is yummy, in generous quantities and good quality. Most frequently I order their Spitfire Chicken which comes with a lip smacking semi-spicy sauce, salad, pita and rice. My kids love their lemon French fries and house made chicken nuggets. The falafel are also a must order and add a nice side of crunch to any meal. And yeah….don’t forget their Baklava, their version of the classical Mediterranean dessert with just the right amount of sweetness (unlike most other places that make it excessively sweet). My kids also enjoy the Calo Chocolate Bomb ….. quite the dessert show at the end of a meal !
If you looking for a casual spot this works. The food is fresh and service is friendly. Order ate counter and collect a number and the fine is brought to the table. The Greek Salad is tasty and fires up all of the taste buds - fresh clean and cheery! The falafel plate is a veg option and is well presented and filling. A sliced boiled egg is a welcome addition. The Cauliflower dish is about average unless you dunk it in their hot sauce … then it does its trick. This is a good spot for a quick casual fresh meal.
The Best Mediterranean Food in the Bay! I visit this beautiful restaurant at least once a week because I simply can't get enough of their amazing food. The cuisine and service are consistently top-notch. They always offer special dishes! Every visit a delightful experience. Highly recommended!
I found capo about a year ago and let me just say the food is amazing and service is top tier. For a gym bro like me I'm always looking for a bomb chicken and rice meal at a great price! It's definitely worth it especially when you're looking for a pre or post meal workout. The owner Surhat and his team has definitely step it up. When it comes to service and family vibes CAPO has set itself apart from everyone. I'm just happy I live down the street from them. The food always sits well and is never too heavy. Definitely if you're in the area give it a try.
I ordered the beef and lamb pita and replaced the beet sauce with tzatziki. The meat is tender. The pita is perfectly fluffy, and the Greek lemonade soda wash down a great lunch. The service was nice because they listened to my specific order. The environment feels open and bright, which makes you feel you are ordering from the Mediterranean.

Delicious. Plenty of options. Clean. Great service. Young guy explains menu with a great attitude. Will definitely come back and try other stuff. I got the beef and lamb plate. Loved the beets hummus.
The girl at the counter was very helpful and gave excellent service. She told me about the chocolate and heath dessert. Great recommendation.
Loved the falafel plate! The pita breads were so soft and the falafels were crisp and delicious
I had the pleasure of trying CAPO Belmont and I'm so glad I did! The food was amazing, and it was clear that only the freshest, organic, locally sourced ingredients were used. The flavors of the Mediterranean fare were so flavorful and delicious
I love how they use fresh locally sourced organic ingredients. The chicken skewer plate is so good! I always feel like I made a healthy choice afterwards.
Pretty straightforward food but reasonably priced and tasty. Lemon fries were dank. This place is to Nick the Greek as In n Out is to McDonalds, if that makes sense.
Delicious food and very friendly staff.
Capo is a great place to eat at. Their food is great, their located in a nice spot. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Staff is friendly. What more is there to say? You will enjoy it.
The food was great and tasty. Loved the fries as well. Parking is a bit difficult if you don’t know the area. Def worth a visit.
Great wrap, amazing fries too!
Excellent flavors. I enjoyed the Spitfire Chicken Salad. The assortment of dips including Baba ghanoush and Tzatziki was outstanding. The pita bread was fresh and warm. This is a small takeout place, with just a couple of tables for in house dining like we did. But everything we ordered was really good. The food took its time arriving, but it was worth the wait.
Easily one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in the Bay Area. The delicate flavoring and consistent texture is on par (if not exceeding) with food you would expect from Evvia Estiatorio.
Food flavor very good, I just wish instead of cucumber pickle, fresh will be better. Atmosphere room hot, not ac fully working i guess
Absolutely amazing, very tasty food and friendly service.
The food is delicious! As someone new to Mediterranean cuisine, I loved it. I'm planning to return soon. Although it's a small venue, it feels cozy, and the staff are friendly and kind.
I have eaten here plenty of times and their gyros are so tasty! Falafels are juicy and not dry. Nothing is heavy and their sauce is amazing! They are very clean and smells nice inside the place! Its a fast serving clean restaurant. Definitely try it on your break or order togo!! Super convenient if you are in the area!
It was incredibly flavorful and fresh! The ingredients were very high quality and I could tell that a lot of care and attention was put into each dish. I would definitely recommend CAPO Belmont to anyone looking for a delicious and healthy meal.
Staff are kind and give great recommendations for first timers. Great outdoor seating. Pricing is very reasonable, especially considering how healthy the food is. Great portioning and well presented.
I come here 2-3 times a week. Hands down the best Mediterranean food on the peninsula. Calamari, meat balls, chicken, and desserts are all top notch. Lemon fries and smash burger are amazing
i ate smash burger and soup best i ever eat !! my favorite place from now on !!!
We took to long to get our food and they remade it for us without us asking. Excellent service, consistently good food 10/10 would recommend. Ps fries are some of the best I ever had
I’ve been coming to Capo since they opened in 2020! The food is amazing and they never miss with their very own Capo fries!! The owner and staff are super accommodating and super friendly. It’s a great place to come for lunch and even great to pick up something to go for dinner if you are looking for something fast.
Great food and friendly customer service. My go to orders are the smash burgers, chicken skewers, lamb, baklava, pink hummus and lemon fries. Me and my wife have done their catering as well for a big party and got great compliments. Thanks Capo!
Best place for a quick, healthy, delicious meal. Mariam and her team were very nice and attentive. I would highly recommend 👌 👍 good job guys, keep doing your magic.
lamb/beef platter was very flavorful..so was the baba Ganoush and the baklava. Friendly service. They took a reservation for 10+ despite a small seating area and held several tables for us.
Great place Great Food Good portion size Chill vibe!
After a long day at work, I was craving something fresh, delicious, and relatively healthy. I stumbled upon Capo Mediterranean Restaurant and was not disappointed. The service was great, and the food was fresh and flavorful. I even enjoyed a tasty Turkish beer while waiting for my meal to be made. Overall, it was exactly what I needed.
Absolutely amazing! Definitely recommend eating here! Food, atmosphere, and service are 10/10!
I am surprised by the most EXCELLENT smash burger that my son tried today. I am in love with the lemon fries that came with it as well that my fam of 3 kept “trying” from his plate. it was also a surprisingly large serving of fries and a good sized burger- very worth the $13 dining in the restaurant! Rice plates with salad and beef are large enough to share with another hungry adult else for dining in the restaurant as well. I bought the beet labni dip to go and it was a big hit at the divorce party I attended right after as well. I still need to go back to try the falafel that my son new wants to try after he enjoyed his burger!
Great experience catering with Capo. The food was well packaged, it was delivered warm and it was delicious. They delivered on time and helped set everything up. Great options for vegetarians (the cauliflower was the first to run out!!!). They are also incredibly accommodating when I needed to move the date at the last minute. Very professional and helpful. Will definitely order from them again.
Incredible food. I’m not usually a fan of Mediterranean food but the Greek salad with beef/lamb kebabs was fresh and tasty, especially with the pink hummus that came with it. They were kind and gave me an extra when I asked for it. Also yummy homemade lemonade!
I have been going to Capo since it opened. The quality and consistency of the food is remarkable. I am happy with how quick the kitchen prepares my food (dine-in or take-away). I usually order twice a week (one weekday and one on weekend), and Capo never disappoints. Their food always puts a smile on my face and my family. The owner is young, friendly, and very generous with portions. The restaurant is very clean and taking all COVID precautions. They are adding a new garden on the side, which should be a nice improvement. I love the gyro, chicken shish kebab plate with rice & salad. As dessert, baklava is a must try. I am not a beer person. However, I started ordering the Efes beer, which is really good thirst quencher for me.
First time here and order the smash burger. Ever since I started eating halal I’ve had a hard time finding a good halal burger. This EXCEEDED any and all expectations. The service was great even though it’s fast casual. Still warm and welcoming. My friend got the special of the day which was ground beef stuffed eggplant. 10/10 recommend.
Price for performance is definitely there. If you like fish, order the branzino for $26. Excellent. Lemon fries definitely worth it. Harissa Cauliflower very good. Beet Habini, not to my taste...a little bland. Falafel wrap very good.
Capo is everything this area was missing! We finally got it for the first time tonight and it was absolutely amazing! Could not have been more delicious and the inside was so clean and beautiful! Food was on time and still hot when we got home. We got one Spitfire Chicken Pita and one Spitfire Beef & Lamb Pita. Both INCREDIBLE and unique in their own ways. Serhat is so kind and running the place beautifully! So happy to be a new regular! Can't wait to try the baklava and panna cotta we brought home. 😍
Absolutely delicious! It take a minute for the food to be prepared, but all the meals were more than worth a few minutes of waiting. The young lady running the dinning room is also fantastic!
I ordered a falafel plate and it was way beyond my expectation. I could tell the falafels and deep flied eggplant were made to order, salad was fresh, and rice was so flavorful. Oh pita bread was good too. Inside of the restaurant is not that big but clean and comfortable. There is patio outside as well. Highly recommended! :)
I finally had the chance to try Capo for the first time. I was pleasently surprised with the quality of the meat and meals overall! Their pita wraps came with a delicious yogurt sauce that really pulled the flavors together. The lamb and beef were also phenomenal. I was able to eat a bit more after one pita wrap, so it might be good to also order a side salad if you're hungry.
Amazing food, sublime covid-friendly service Belmont’s best restaurant by far. The only restaurant we felt comfortable to order during Covid due to the precautions they took including parking spots for pickups and mask wearing owner who would drop the food in your trunk. Friendly owner who drops by often and ensures exquisite service. Clean, bright, airy and modern interior with widely spaced tables. Our favorite eatery. Our kids love it and calls it their favorite restaurant. Makes us happy and the food always hits the spot.
Spotted it initially when driving through and I was glad we decided to stop by to eat! The food was amazing! We ordered two rice plates and three spreads (the spitfire beef & lamb, spitfire chicken, beet labni, tzatziki, and red pepper feta). I want to mention first that the salad that comes with the rice place is so good I’ll probably just get the salad instead next time. The chicken was freaking good with no hint of dryness. I also really liked the beef & lamb, but it can’t say it wowed me as much as the chicken. As for the spreads, the tzatziki and beet labni were the best of the 3 I got. The tzatziki blew my mind. I don’t typically like tzatziki, but there was no take home here it was consumed at the restaurant. I will definitely be back to try more things!
Stopped in for lunch yesterday while in the area. The Spitfire Chicken Pita is Delicious. I will try different items during my next visit. So many choices. The atmosphere is great. Lots of indoor outdoor seating. Thank you.
Modern Turkish and Greek, perfectly fused Old World Mediterranean Flavors resonating perfectly through. Healthy, fresh, open air shawarma, gorgeous scenes of Greek Beaches .. Had the Avgolemo Soup. Pitas was phenomenallly fresh ! The Smash Burger with the exotic Capo Sauce, is such a soft medley of flavors, it made the burger fit for home, in my belly Fast, warm, family owned business ! Shall be here weekly to feast.. Next to try is the Turkish Lentil Soup !
This is a gem of a place! I’ve been coming for awhile now and this review is way over due. The food is always 10/10. My go to order is the beef/lamb rice plate which is always fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Also cannot forget about an order of lemon fries, they are like nothing else I’ve had before. They have become my faborite fries ever!! Customer service is always great, every time I dine in it’s always a treat!
I just happened to be in the area for work and checked Google Maps for good places to eat and this place was rated the highest seemed the best and boy was I right. I had the spitfire beef and lamb rice plate and it was all delicious. The side salad was perfectly dressed with a light and refreshing dressing. The berry yogurt cream cheese thing, I don’t even know what it is, was delicious. The pita fresh and light with a nice char. Just wonderful everywhere. Ended up getting baklava to go because the food was so good and, of course, it didn’t disappoint. The music was also relaxing but upbeat, it was clean with a nice interior, and the staff was friendly. It was around 3 so a nearby school had just gotten out and it was moderately busy but I still got my food quickly.
The space is small and they obviously do a lot of take out orders but they are absolutely knocking the cuisine out of the park. At our table we had: avgalemono soup, spanakopita, the Angus beef, calamari, and falafel all of which were amazing. The various sauces and veggies were a beautiful accent - the eggplant that came with the falafel was good enough to be a side on it's own. Highly recommend that you try the lemonade if they have it as well. 10/10 for an economical bite to eat with amazing flavors!
Delicious Mediterranean food. The family and I went for an early dinner and ordered a lot off their menu. (We may have ordered too much, but we were very hungry, and everything on the menu looked so good.) We were not disappointed. Everything, from the hummus and falafel, the lemon fries, lentil soup and calamari were on point. I ordered the beef and lamb plate and enjoyed it very much. My son got the smash burger and said it was yummy. Even the desserts were excellent. But what stood out was the service. The gentlemen at the register (maybe the owner) was patient and gave us great recommendations! He was attentive and frequently asked if we were enjoying the dishes. I can see why their ratings are so good. My wife commented repeatedly that we would be returning...and my wife is hard to please. Thank you Capo! We found our new go-to spot for tasty Mediterranean cuisine.
This place had the absolute best falafel balls ever! And their other foods were excellent. The service was very good, and the atmosphere was perfect. The atmosphere was mainly the location in the hills, and the music that was played helped mask the unpleasant street noises from the nearby intersection, though the location relative to the intersection
This Mediterranean restaurant is a hidden gem with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish tastes vibrant and authentic, especially the grilled items and dips. Friendly, attentive service makes the whole experience even better.

Beef lamb spitfire plate was good. Meat just a little bit dry. But salad and rice were fresh and delicious. Baklava was also good. I will return to try the Lamb Gyro.
Really nice spot with friendly service. The food was good. The spreads are really good. The chicken needs a bit more grilling and the meatballs had a ton of sauce on it if you like BBQ sauce (if not, you likely would ask lighter). The baklava is really good and worth a try. Be very careful as you exit in your car, the slope is super hard it might destroy the car at the bottom (especially for low cars).

If you want a beef and lamb pita wrap or some tasty hummus, Capo is a great place to go. This is "fast food" that is bright and a healthier option that most options. The harissa cauliflower is wonderful, as are the various spreads you can eat with some pita.
Food was very good. The chicken on the chicken rice plate had a lot of either paprika or cumin which can be too much for certain people. That is why I am only giving 4 stars. Nice location and friendly staff. It is dog friendly outside.
Everything we ordered was a little too salty. Clean, organized, welcoming store front. Casual dining-order at the front and self service.
The food was very tasty but kinda pricey. Gyro is $16 and not very big, the salads are $18. About $50 with tip for 2 people ordering basic items. Maybe not the best options to order if you are hungry. That said, the food was good and maybe spending more for a plate is better value.
Capo is a Mediterranean Greek restaurant in Belmont run by the owners of next door Vivace. We got takeout here because we had inkind credit! It is located in a small strip all that is not easy to get out of. Their menu is pretty extensive with items covering Safety Pluses - Online menu, Delivery services available, online ordering. Food Review: Capo Hummus ($9) Served with pita & za'ahtar spices was the weakest dish. Pretty mundane hummus. We like the one at Hummus Mediterranean or Oren's better. Pita is ordinary. 6/10 Spitfire Beef & Lamb Pita ($16) Red pepper feta, pickles vegetables, greens, fries (fries wrapped inside) was of good size and had a nice flavor profile. Decent amount of flavorful meat. 8/10 Falafel ($9) were also solid. Hot, crispy with a good sauce. 8/10 Overall - Good Food - Good Decor - Very Good Service - Good Value - Very Good Would we come back - Maybe
Not sure how this casual Mediterranean joint is getting 4.8 stars with 300+ reviews. Yes, it is departure from your everyday fast food and you get something decent. But also, it is not priced like a fast food. Capo straddles somewhere in the middle yet doesn't get either right - cheap and good enough, or amazing food yet affordable. Try the lentil soup. Doesn't taste like anything. Literally. The tatziki was quite good but nothing special. I've had better before. The lamb and beef decorated salad was perhaps the highlight, not because of the meat though. The meat was bland and dry. I had to salt it for it to make sense. Not flavorful enough for a lamb pita or gyro plate. And it was certainly cooked a "long" time ago as it was dry and tough. The french fries had a bit of sourness in them - I guess it was the "lemon fries". Names aside, why would you do that to a perfectly decent fried potato stick? It just doesn't go well together. The burger was quite good but for $19..., you'd expect something special. I'd say on par with a $10 Five Guys burger. And the interior and decor was at a fast-food level. So again, I'm really not sure what the stars are all about. By the way, the owner was really kind and friendly! We would definitely return time to time but I'm not sure if this is something die for (which is what a 4.8 would indicate.)

6/22 Edit: I recently ordered a falafel wrap online, for pickup. I was in a rush.and didn't pay attention to the particulars, paying with Google Pay. The price has risen to $14.00, which is pricey. However, it is an exceptional wrap. I was shocked to later notice the total was almost $20. Turns out, they have a default tip of 20% (for pickup?!) and a $1 convenience fee. I only tip for personal service, as was intended (To Improve Performance). I missed it, and so will others. A living wage tips shouldn't be confused. Pick up is convenient for the restaurant. Everything I wrote below still applies. However, I won't order pickup anymore! Previous review. Friendly efficient service. Restaurant is bright and immaculate. Food is fresh and delicious! I order the Falafel Pita off their website for pickup. Creative ingredients and a meal in itself for under $10! Their packaging is compostable, which is a nice touch. Unfortunately, they opened their doors right at the start of the pandemic. Let's support them. They're are nice additions to Belmont!
I went here once before, and it was great. I came back again as my wife frequents a salon next door. I was pretty disappointed this time. The beef and lamb gyro was surprisingly bland and grey. My wife’s chicken gyro was okay at best. I also feel like the person at the cash register was not the nicest, and it may or may not have had to do with me wearing a Star of David. The quality has fallen off, especially when there are other good similar options nearby like Falafelle and Cobani.
Insanely expensive for vegetarian med. Falafel rice & 2 drinks for 45 bucks. Yelp needs figure out how to moniter these foo reviews (friends of owner). Food not good, expensive, & tiny hot interior with just a few tables.
The chicken skewer plate was horrible today. The rice was undercooked and the salad did not have any dressing. And, they forgot the tzatziki sauce & the hummus. There’s more…the chicken nuggets did not come with Capo sauce as advertised. This was my $56-dollar order. Rip-off or incompetence?
Wow. Was this food from the same place all these other reviews are talking about? Our food was dry, fairly tasteless and meager. And the sauces were very small and not very Greek or Mediterranean. We ordered Chicken Skewer Kebab, Falafel, Lemon Fries, Spitfire Beef & Lamb, and Spitfire Chicken), All dry and uninspired. We will never go back and cannot recommend.
Im not sure how this place has 4.8 stars....(Im sure theres a ton fake reviews in here, You can't even trust reviews anymore lol) ,Its overpriced ....the food is bland and lacks flavor. Very underwhelming. There is much better mediterranean food around.
Very bad online order experience. At the checkout the defaulted to 20% tip and it was hidden at the very bottom that you can easily miss at checkout. This is clearly designed as a dark pattern to harvest a bit of extra dollar out of your pockets. Please don’t come to this store anymore
This is not authentic Mediterranean food. At best this is American fusion. It tasted so bad, I couldn’t finish my meatballs. Rice was too lemony. Baba ghanoush was very tangy but lacked any other flavor and had no garlic. Spitfire chicken wrap had almost boiled chicken. If you are looking for authentic taste, just go to mazra
