This is my favourite Japanese place in the Berkeley/Albany area. Fresh produce, consistent service. They’re also so generous with their portions - especially the sashimi platter! Must visit.

Great service , kind people, good food & great ambience . Had a long lunch here and took leftovers home . Had several rolls and a kids meal , all tasty & appreciate the complimentary tea and miso . Yum yum

Ordered Pink Lady from Specialty, Rock n Roll and 2 maki s for lunch. Rolls had good amt of fresh sashimi in them and were tasty. Staff was very helpful with recommendations and nice. Ambience wasn't fancy but perfect for lunch

Fun local Japanese restaurant for a quality and balanced dinner or for some small bites with drinks. Theres a great deal for the 2 item bento course and our food came with complimentary miso soups and cold orange desserts at the end.

The chirashi don comes with a generous portion of sashimi, and the bento box is also quite substantial. Though the flavors are definitely mediocre. It's great value for the price, with attentive service. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner.

My partner and I enjoyed our late lunch here! The layout of the restaurant felt very open and airy because of the huge windows that were open. We ordered three different rolls- the lobster, spider fantasy, and spicy crunch roll. While we were waiting, they brought us salad and miso soup which was really nice of them. Two of the rolls were HUGE and everything tasted fresh. The lobster roll had lots of chunks of fried lobster on top which was fun. After we finished, they brought us each a cut up orange as dessert! Overall it was a relaxing and delicious lunch experience. I would recommend checking out this restaurant and supporting a new local business!

Friendly service. Enjoyed warm miso soup on a chilly night. Solid sushi rolls and portion. The Real California Roll with real crab was delightful. Surprisingly tasty with good texture. Scallops nigiri tasted fresh. Ocean salad with salmon, tuna and hamachi was was delicious. Spider roll was crunchy with cucumber and fried soft shell crab. Solano roll has everything. Ended the meal with cream puff on the house. Appreciated the friendly staff and refilling hot tea several times. Interior was cozy and spacious. Mainichi is a great neighborhood sushi spot.

Great sushi spot and friendly atmosphere. You won't be disappointed. We stopped here because of the bento box and sushi. What stood out to me about this restaurant was how they provided everyone at the table Miso Soup for no extra charge before we even ordered. There was plenty of room to sit as well as parking in front of restaurant. We ordered the paparazzi, lion king and a bento box and were not disappointed by the quality of the food. Highly recommend the restaurant if you are in the area.

Hands down my new fave. Quality and quantity falls both into service, ambiance and food. For you keto people there is one sushi called the volcano that’s rice less and wrapped in soy paper. Vegan friendly too! We ordered: salmon bento, chicken bento, tofu plate, kapa maki. Meal comes with tea or water and miso soup. Very abundant in size and everything extremely fresh and flavorful. Plating is thoughtfully presentable. The chef and server memorable.

Authentic Japanese Food I enjoyed the ambience, presentation and service. Fish is sweet tasting, presentation is on point. If you willing to spend abit, this is the place to go. Owners, chefs and staff made me feel very welcome.

I impulsively walked in and checked out the menu and ended up ordering 2 sushi rolls. Pricing is on par with most of the other sushi places in the area. Service was relatively fast and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by how good the rolls were. I am definitely going to go back and try more of their extensive variety of sushi.

We had to wait 15 minutes for service, but the staff was very kind. Flies from outside made finishing lunch tough. Rolls broke up easily, but glad to support the neighborhood restaurants. We'll be back.

Sushi served here tastes/smells odd. For their high prices, I expected more, but this place did not deliver. This is about as good as it gets in the city of Albany. I’ve had better in the middle of nowhere. Would not recommend.
