Mike and his team are very welcoming and accommodating, food is very nice and the rooms are unique and warming. Could not ask for more. Very clean and comfortable place to stay to walk Snowdon
Lovely place. Great atmosphere. The customer service is second to none!
Had another lovely stay at the Pont Y Pair this weekend, everything was perfect! Amazingly hosted by Mike and Jennie, great food and perfect rooms. The incredible Hannah Popey provided live music entertainment all night, and the general atmosphere across the entire Inn was amazing all night. Can't wait to be back!
Visited a few months ago whilst we were passing through. We had a beautiful roast, very tasty and value for money. Mike and Jenny very friendly and made us feel very welcome .
We had a lovely weekend break here. Rooms and food were fantastic and such a great location. Thank you for a warm welcome.
Had the best stay, comfortable/clean room So welcoming/friendly Food was amazing. Would definitely recommend We will be booking again this summer
After a very busy day we were looking for a nice place to get some food. We checked this little place out and what a find a diamond in the rough!! From start to finish the staff were amazing very welcoming we also had a dog which was made very welcome they even have little treats at the bar! We ordered food and shortly after it was on the table well presented I had the mixed grill the steak was so good not one ounce of fat just beautifully cooked. I followed up with the cookie dough I’d say it’s one of the best desserts I’ve had the portion sizes are really good!! So if you want a nice chilled place with good people good food and good music then this place is a must.
We came for the "lunch and drink" offer for £12.00 and were very pleased with what we got. OK, the portion sizes were a little small but they are only charging £12.00 so it was a reasonable offer. Foot was hot, tasty and wholesome so I would definitely come again. Service was very good too.
Amazing service from Bobby. Extremely welcoming pud. Very clean and a proper county pub. Food was the best we’ve ever had at a reasonable price. Would very much recommend this pub
Lovely place to visit for a weekend. Staff, Management and the Menu all excellent. Can't wait to visit you all again. Terry
Lovely pub/hotel/restaurant. Welcoming staff. We didn't eat here only had drinks, but the food looked great. Nice outside area at the back.
We had a Sunday roast in the Pont Y Pair Inn, the food and service were excellent and our dog had her own meal too. We were so impressed we went back for our evening meal a couple of days later. Highly recommended.
Best pub in Betws-Y-Coed the food and drink is amazing. And the staff are very friendly and helpful. Had great service from Rhinallt.
Visited the Pont Y Pair inn during my son's wedding weekend in early August. It seemed to be the only eatery that you could pre book in Betws y Coed that weekend and we were not disappointed. Great pub atmosphere with really friendly staff and a good choice on the menu. My wife and I had pie and mash, both filling and delicious. Others in the party had salmon, lamb and burgers and everyone was really happy with their choices. I would heartily recommend the Pont y Pair for good food in a relaxed pub atmosphere. Ten out of ten!
Wonderful short stay between Christmas and New Year 2025. Vibrant bar with delicious, hearty food and the rooms are cosy and very comfortable
Absolutely love this pub! I've been coming here for over 10 years, and it never disappoints. Tom, Bobby, Leo, and Rhino (sorry if I’ve spelled that wrong!) are exceptional staff members. They always make you feel welcome and go out of their way to create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Without a doubt, this current team is the best I’ve ever seen here. Great pub, even better people.
Beautiful hotel in perfect location. We had a nice dinner and drinks in the pub, and the service from Lewis was world class!
Great pub, full of character, very friendly feel to the place. Nice quiet relaxing atmosphere, staff very friendly and helpful will definitely call in again when we are in the area.
My partner and I popped into here after a long 4 hour walk with our dog as there was a sign outside that dogs are welcome. What a great job we did! One of my favourite pubs I’ve stepped into. I loved the ambiance and decor inside. We had a burger each and a pint. The food was delicious and deffo filled a hole! Loved the music playlist too as don’t often go somewhere that plays Nirvana!
Great traditional pub which is popular for food, board and meals. Plenty of atmosphere and busy bar. They were showing live football when we called one Saturday evening but it was relaxed and friendly with helpful staff and comfortable surroundings if you enjoy a typical pub vibe. Those eating and staying seemed very happy with what they got.Definitely worth a visit.
We recently stayed at Pont y Pair Inn for a weekend birthday celebration and had the most fabulous time from start to finish. The staff and managers truly couldn’t do enough for us — nothing was too much trouble, and they went above and beyond to make sure the whole weekend was special. Their kindness and attention to detail really made such a difference. The food was absolutely lovely — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and enjoyed by everyone in our group. The rooms were just as impressive: clean, comfortable, and finished to a high standard, making our stay even more relaxing. Everything ran so smoothly, and it made the celebration even more memorable for our family. It’s rare to find somewhere you feel so genuinely looked after. We’ll definitely be booking all our future family events here — even if it is a little out of our way, it’s more than worth the trip! Thank you again for such a wonderful stay 💛
Had a gorgeous stay this weekend at the Pont-Y-Pair! The beds were sooo comfy, my pillows do not feel the same anymore! Shower pressure was perfect with lovely touches of mini toiletries and cotton pads. The hosts Mike and Jenny were so accommodating and friendly! The live music entertainment Hannah Popey was a fantastic audience pleaser. To top it all off we had a lovely full English the next day with top quality ingredients and a proper filter coffee machine! Situated in a perfect spot in Betws for access to the walls and just on the river, it’s a lovely stay!
We had dinner here yesterday and really enjoyed our food. Our very picky eater son said the pork belly was really good and he ate more than what he normally ate. My steak was perfectly cooked. My daughter and husband loved their lamb and chicken pie too. The desserts were delicious too. Highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding and maybe extra custard for the apple pie. Lucky we reversed as it got really busy later. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly.
Had a few pints and a mix grill after a walk up snowdon . Can’t remember having a better mix grill than this and both Timmy Taylor ales were good
Amazing food, tasty.Lovely service and friendly staff. Affordable prices. Amazing atmosphere. Enjoy.
Great hotel with a nice pub. Very clean and friendly staff. Craig was particularly nice.
During our four nights in Betws-y-Coed, we were here three times. Wimbledon was on and the Mrs. wanted to watch, and they had the matches on outside on the bigger TVs each time. The service was friendly and fast and the selection of beers, ciders, and cocktails were great. Between all the visits we had the lasagna, gammon, and the hummus. All of them were great but a special shot-out to the hummus with the delicious falafels! All of the servers were friendly and the patio was great. Even though they probably got sick of seeing us there, we would go back if they'd have us. Thanks, all!
This place was amazing the staff just couldn't do enough for you will be coming back again that's for sure we'll done anyone wanting to come to Betws-y-coed come here. Brilliant
Had a meal here yesterday, 18th July 2025. Friendly staff, the food was outstanding. At the time of this review, we will be returning tonight to try something different off the menu, before returning home to Derbyshire tomorrow.
We had good food here on Saturday which was served quickly. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We watched the rugby and stayed for the band. Fantastic atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
Lovely little pub! Great food and drink! Great service from Bobby also 👍🏼
We decided spare of the moment as we was passing to take advantage of the lunch and a drink for £12 deal, we order of Gammon, egg & chips and Sausage, mash ,peas &gravy. Both did night dispapoint Gammin was cooked to perfection, the sausages were great quality meat and the mash was superb, so much to say I wanted to eat it all over again after I cleaned my plate.
Great welcoming pub with honest food and the best pint of Timothy Taylor's I've ever had. And I go to the Yorkshire town where it's from a lot! Just right for a big meal after a day's hiking.
Classic tasty pub food. I recommend the sausage and mash. Good whiskeys on the bar. Pool table (for £1). Friendly staff and nice people. Rooms were comfortable, warm and clean, and showers were hot with excellent water pressure.
Just came back from a 3 night break in Betws-y-coed and the Pont-Y-Pair inn is fast becoming our favourite drinking place . We were lucky enough to be staying in Betws-Y-Coed when they had a band on the Monday for St Patricks day and the quiz night on the wednesday . Both nights were fantastic and had a really friendly atmosphere , the bar staff , Bobby and Tom were great and very chatty . Tim the quiz master was very nice and the prizes are not to be missed . Food is really good and Bobby’s has now mastered the Pornstar Martini’s , Can’t wait to return in October/November time . Maria & Kev
Spent a night here over the Valentine's weekend. Beautiful location and very well kept and friendly pub/hotel. The rooms were immaculate and the food was tasty and very well presented. The staff and management could not do enough for you. Highly recommend
Dropped in for lunch and we were really glad we did. Far better than The Royal Oak down the road. Food was fresh and great value for money, the staff were lovely, and the drinks were cold. Could not have wished for better. Will certainly eat there again next time we’re in Wales. 😁
Beer is £6.40 a pint which i guess is expected in Betws but it felt a little steep. Classic pub food, not too special and felt a little expensive for what it was. I had the chicken and ham hock pie at £15.95. Someone also ordered a dirty burger at £16.50 which was just underwhelming for how it was described on the menu. I don't think I would eat there again. I did however really like the atmosphere, the fire was burning and it was full of happy people enjoying their evening, playing pool or darts, and the outdoor beer garden with heat lamps is lovely too. So maybe I would splash out on a pint to enjoy that again. They also don't have any local beers which is a shame. But I had a nice evening none the less, the price just felt a little steep for me personally.
We popped in for a drink and a game of pool and ended up enjoying a family meal that was served swiftly and was reasonably priced and very tasty. also the 2 cocktails for £12 were taken advantage of by the wife and my mom 🍸🍹 The staff were attentive and extremely friendly, nice mixture of ages which provided a great atmosphere and they were due to have a band on in the evening out the back. Good seating at rear and side, covered to keep you dry if it rains which occasionally it does in Snowdonia 😂 Will definitely return next time in Betws-y-Coed and recommend to family and friends.
Food was very good but on the expensive side for the size of the portions. Sides were extra but not really necessary, as the veg served with the meat was plentiful. It was noisy but it was Father's Day. Service was a little slow but staff were pleasant and helpful
Popped in for a pint, which was decent. Ordered a 6oz rump steak as there were no sirloin steaks on offer. The steak was cooked great and the quality was good. Just a shame that there aren't more steaks on offer and steaks that are larger as 6oz is a tad on the small size. Prices looked to be really good. Would recommend
We went here for a bite to eat during half term February 2026. The atmosphere was pleasant and the table we had reserved was ready for us. It was 'pie night' so three of us had the chicken and ham hock and steak and ale pie. The other had the burger. The pies appeared, home made, thick pastry, albeit mine was overdone and the pastry burnt. The fillings were not substantial, particularly in the chicken and ham hock pies. More chicken in particular is required. The burger was quite basic and could better with more invention!. I think if more attention could be given to the produce used and the standard of the food presented, this pub would be worthy of a further visit the next time we visit.
It's a pub to get your head down. We booked a breakfast for 9am, which they couldn't accommodate due to not having the ingredients and poor communication. The chief didn't arrive until 8.45am, and the place was in darkness,I had to switch the lights on. We stayed two nights, don't expect your room to be replenish (towels etc etc) or bed made up...it's a pub remember. Costing for two nights was £56 ish per head per night room only, which I suppose is standard. 3 stars is average scoring.
Booked online had no issue getting a table for that evening on a Sunday. Arrived and located table with reserved sign. Ordered drinks at the bar and asked if these could be put on a table tab but advised that was not possible so paid for the drinks before sitting at the table and looking at the menu. Then went back to order roast dinners. Food arrived quickly and was hot. Veg lacked flavour with peas being shrivelled and carrots hard, meat overcooked, overall both meals were average and could’ve used extra gravy and to be offered if we wanted any condiments when food brought over. Overall food ok, expensive for average food of which it was not even table service and also due to not being allowed a tab (for a table that was within sight of the bar) we missed out on the roast and drink for £17 due to having to pay for drinks and food seperate. I think when booking there should be a note advising that it is not table service to manage people’s expectations. Minimal interaction with staff efficient but not overly friendly. Pub was busy and had a nice atmosphere and would probably return for a drink in future but would give food a miss.
It's an old school kind of pub. Dark deco & average pub food. We didn't pre-book a table, just strolled in after a long day walking. Found a table - looked at menu & then ordered at the bar (sticky- in need of some drip trays) served quickly (no queue when we went - just good timing as it did fill up quickly after we ordered). X1 pie-chips-peas-gravy. X1 chicken burger and salt & pepper fries (upgrading from regular fries for 50p) X1 J2o X1 pint =£39. odd pence. Just short of £40 for 2 meals & 1 soft drink and 1 alcohol drink. Pie is homemade steak & ale - skins on fries & tinned peas. Gravy was hot -peas were cold & pie was warm. Arrived approx 10 mins after we ordered. Not a recommended place for wheelchair access as there is no access. Pool table was occupied & by time we did get to have a go, it was out of order (also only pay for the game via card attached to the pool table= not sure how much for a game of pool as didn't say). The food was okay after a long day's walk but wouldn't say it was worth what we paid. Also little options for food in Betsy cowyd at least 6 eateries offering same food each a couple quid more or less than the other one. I personally wouldn't eat here again as I found the atmosphere a bit dark & stifling and food to be average. But if you want 'pub grub' for a quick bite to eat & don't mind paying around £20 for a meal & a drink then give it a go.
I came here this afternoon for Lunch. Had a bit of a bad experience. We ordered fish fingers and chips for my GF and 2x portions of chips for me. When the food came we only had 1x portion chips. We asked the young waitress who had served us and she said she would go and check. She came back a few minutes later with the 2nd portion of chips saying that we had not paid for them and that I would have to pay for them. I then had to queue at the bar to pay for the chips for a good few minutes whilst my lunch was going cold and the rest of my party were eating. I wasn't very happy about this but what can you do. A couple of hours later we checked our bank statement and we had paid for 2 x chips after all. So the waitress made me pay twice for my chips. We weren't given a receipt to my knowledge so we weren't able to check our online statement at the pub as didn't have reception. Anyway, food tasted good. But was not hot as I was busy at the bar paying for my food twice whilst my party were eating theirs. As I was here on holiday it's not like I can just pop back in for a refund. I wouldn't go back here as I feel quite annoyed at the way I was treated. Shame as the pub was lovely and the rest of my party enjoyed their food.
Very slow lunchtime service - 50 mins from ordering at the bar to our table's food starting to come out. Once it started coming out, it was so slow that two of our group had finished eating by the time the last dish came out. Very small portions, even allowing for the fact it's a lunchtime special. Huge amount of batter for a tiny fish.
I'm local and hadn't been to the ponty in years. Happened to be in betws on Sunday for lunch, so thought I'd treat me & my girlfriend to their 'trio of roast dinner'. 2 roasts and 2 pints, just over £50! I'm in the catering industry myself, and pride myself on quality and affordability. The food was pretty abysmal I'm sad to say,and left me feeling immediately dissappointed and out of pocket of my hard earned cash. I did want to let one of the staff know, but no one came over to ask how our meal was, and the bar was busy with people ordering drinks. The menu said 'beef, pork, chicken, rosemary sea salt roasters, honey roast parsnip, garden peas, roasted carrots, Cabbage, creamed leek, gravy & yorkie'. There was no rosemary or salt on the potatoes whatsoever, they were soggy and bland. There were no peas at all. The carrots were boiled, not oven roasted. There was no honey on the parsnips. There was no seasoning on the boiled green Cabbage. The Yorkie was so soggy, my nan could have eaten it without her false teeth. The gravy was instant. They had run out of Horseradish to go with the beef! We asked for salt and pepper for the table...the salt came out in sachets like you get in McDonalds. All 3 meats were dry, the dog didn't eat the chicken. It also appeared to have been reheated in the microwave, as it was that kind of like warm soggy consistency. Shame, a real shame. Never again. I used to feel bad leaving a review like this, but I'd never serve my customers food like that.
Accused nephews of attempted drug taking , when they went into toilet separate before walking a mile home on Christmas Eve , then saying it’s “ not homophobia “ ( nephew wearing earrings gifted from girlfriend) . Landlord had been drinking whole time we had been there and was in toilet at same time , tried discussing at the time but landlord obviously “ past “ reasoning so we left . A family whose ages ranged from17-79 and the first time since before covid we were together to celebrate Christmas as locals we are disgusted .
Food was awfulll - fish was actually over and as a result had gone crispy dry. Chips were soggy, mushy and the £12 lunch deal honestly would have been better spent in the fish and chippy over the road
The food was shocking. Salad came out with a dead fly in it, told the waitress but she clearly didn't know what to do... Wouldn't waste your money
