Opinions de Casa Blanca Restaurant Big Spring
I recently visited Tomkins Square Bagels and it truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff Gabriela and her coworker were incredibly attentive and friendly, ensuring every detail was perfect. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors that left me wanting more. Each dish was beautifully presented, showcasing the chef’s creativity and passion. It’s a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. They need a raise!
Definitely the No.1 bagel spot! I visit here every time I’m in NYC. The dough is amazing, and the cream cheese and all the fillings are always delicious. The staff is also friendly. It has a nice atmosphere inside, but I definitely recommend eating outside in Tompkins Square Park — the vibe there is unbeatable.
A good selection of tofu-based vegan cream cheeses, and great-tasting bagels. Staff were friendly and fast, more than happy to run us through what options there were for vegans. We went with 2 everything bagels, one with tofu spinach and artichoke cream cheese and one with garlic tofu cream cheese. Both were tasty and filling, with just the right texture. Great spot for a quick vegan bagel!
Rating: 9.5/10 Date Last Visited: 11/9/2025 EDIT: I went back and tried two of the specials, the Triple Crown and something else. Both were amazing, also the same price as a SEC. Bumping this to a 5 star because of the Triple Crown. The dessert/sweet cream cheeses are also delicious. I ordered a SEC bagel with scallion cream cheese on an everything bagel ($14). The bagel was standard, it rivals other top bagel places in NYC. The bagel was good, I don’t have a lot of complaints. The reason why this isn’t a 5-star is because the price is a bit high for a regular bagel, considering the fact that the portion felt smaller than other bagels I’ve had around the city. A typical bagel sandwich should be around $10-12, and I believe that $14 is a bit high. The wait time is also really long since the line is long, but they expedited the system by taking people’s orders in line the moment they line up. However, the issue is that they take your order too early so if you change your mind, it’s too late since it’s already being made.
Great bagel shop with friendly fast service, a cosy interior, excellent selection, and delicious food. The options for cream cheese, bagels, lox, etc are incredible. I had a sesame bagel with chilli garlic cream cheese and the bagel had solid texture, but the crème cheese was incredible! Flavours came through, but the cream cheese base had an excellent blend of tang and salt. Gluten free bagels + other snacks and tofu based cream cheeses are available. Gluten free bagels are a +3$ charge but pretty good (for a gluten free bagel).
In this occasion I ordered for a whole whet bagel with cream cheese, nova, capers and lettuce. Definitely one of the best bagels on the city. What surprised me was they have an espresso cream cheese, has a coffee lover I couldn’t leave the place without trying it. Spoiler: was delicious 😋 The environment was excellent and the cashier very friendly. Hope try soon more of the menu.
We had a wonderful experience at Thompson Square Bagels in the East Village, and it’s definitely a place I’d be happy to return to. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, with a cozy, neighborhood feel that immediately puts you at ease. The service was friendly and relaxed, even though the place was quite busy when we arrived. There was a steady flow of customers, and while seating isn’t always guaranteed, the overall vibe remained pleasant and comfortable. 🙌🏻 The selection of bagels and spreads was very solid, offering something for everyone. Most importantly, the bagels themselves were incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. They had great texture and flavor, clearly made with care and quality ingredients. The coffee was also excellent!!! And I love good coffee 😅 flavorful and well prepared. making it a perfect match for the bagels. Even with the crowd, the space felt lively in a positive way rather than overwhelming. It’s the kind of place that feels like a local favorite for a reason: simple, tasty, and consistently good. So!! Thompson Square Bagels offers great food, a friendly atmosphere, and a genuine neighborhood experience. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back again.❤️❤️
Tried Tompkins Square Bagels for the first time today (Christmas Eve!), and I'm already hooked. The bagels are fresh, hand-rolled, and perfectly chewy—thick and doughy with that ideal kettle-boiled crust. What really blew me away was the insane variety: so many bagel flavors (French Toast, everything, sesame, and more) and endless house-made cream cheeses and spreads to choose from. I had a tough time deciding! Service was quick and friendly, even on a holiday—staff kept the line moving smoothly. And the prices? Surprisingly reasonable for NYC quality; great value without feeling overcharged. If you're in the East Village, this spot is a must. Already planning my next visit!
If you are even remotely serious about bagels, Tompkins Square Bagel is worth the hype and then some. We stopped in while visiting New York City, and it quickly became one of my favorite food moments of the trip. This is not a fully vegan shop, but the number of vegan options offered alongside the regular menu is genuinely impressive and makes it an ideal stop for mixed groups. The vegan cream cheese selection is outstanding. Sun-dried tomato, spinach artichoke, garlic herb, veggie, plain, scallion, and more. Every option was creamy, flavorful, and exactly what you want with a classic New York bagel. As a longtime vegan, having this many choices felt intentional and exciting. The bagels themselves are exactly what you hope for in NYC. Fresh, chewy, and perfectly balanced. It is rare to find a place that serves both vegan and non-vegan customers so thoughtfully, and Tompkins Square Bagel truly gets it. I loved it and cannot wait to go back. I may or may not have strongly encouraged them to consider opening a Raleigh location. Until then, I will happily make this a must-stop every time I am in New York City.
After many years in New York, I finally tried Tompkins Square Bagels, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Easily one of the best bagels I’ve had in the city so far. I kept it simple with a toasted salted bagel with butter, and it tasted incredibly fresh, perfectly chewy, and warm in all the right ways. My boyfriend got an everything bagel with three eggs, cheddar cheese, and bacon, and it was just as solid. Classic, no-frills, done right. Definitely living up to the hype. 🥯
on the hunt for a replacement for absolute bagel’s egg bagels - this is pretty good, it has a nice light crispy on the outside and at no moment did I feel the bagel was tough to chew. However, I think because the bagel is a little thicker (in height), there are more parts of the bagel that feels a little denser for my liking. Meaning, it should be around 90% soft inside and 10% dense outside, but it feels kinda 80% soft 20% dense. Maple bacon cc was flavourful either way I’ve come to accept that there’s no replacement for absolute bagels and will probably revisit if I have a bagel craving
Review is about dine-in experience of breakfast bagel at Avenue A establishment - maintenance is clean, colorful, distinctive, also offering clear sight to baking-boiling WiP. Only a confident house an be so open. Staff is cheerful with a sense of humor. Bedazzled by the myriad sandwich choices with alluring bynames, I strayed from intended purpose of sampling signature bagels in their barest character. Hope others do not get in similar mixup. Order taking was efficient. Even patient, as I flubbed over, and over, aimng to sample something offbeat. Somewhere in my mumble (and accent), request for add-on sundried tomatoes got translated to grilled tomatoes. Of course, my mistake was professionally repaired. Thanks. Double jalapeno (bagel & cream cheese) was spectacular. Everything bagel with sundried tomato cheese was, somehow, unremarkable. We liked that bagels were not overloaded with schmears. Coffee - strong & bold. Speciality order of no froth and hot milk came as lots of froth and lukewarm concoction, instead 🥳. Bagel size isn't as large as bragged in reviews. We know couple of places - not far - where they are as big, if not bigger. Indoor seating is for 8 along the alley leading to colorfully painted backyard; and another dozen on rustic, counter-height stools. This is essentially a takeout joint, with branded bagel wrappings but no provision for plates etc. to facilitate dine-in. Laudable: Mini canvasses adorn cavern-end walls and add to aesthetic appeal on one hand and double-up as art gallery for a local artist. 👏🏼 The downer: Midway through our breakfast, a store worker opened the backyard door wide, to let in late fall draft. 🥶 We were prevented from closing the door because in-store bakers needed fresh air and respite from heat build-up in their section of store. The chill immediately hit my immuno-compromised wife. While we'll deal with effects of this incidental apathy over next few days, hope owners are more mindful of getting the ventilation system repaired - for the sake of staff, in approaching winter.
I never thought I’d be writing a review about straws , but it’s annoying as this point. I come here everyday, and love the food, but continuously waste money on the coffee. After about 2 or 3 sips, the plastic straws completely break down. I told the manager a month or so back about this, but they still have not been changed back to the paper straws or another alternative. It’s gotten to the point where I may no longer come back as I can’t even drink the coffee that I purchase without having to take the lid off and drink it like it’s hot coffee. Again, it feels weird to write a review to complain about straws, but they are completely unusable. I have submitted pictures below.
