I love the nachos here, and they have added some good options to them in the last few years (buffalo chicken is great). The sandwiches are very good also, I always get a custom one. Bonus, the glasses they serve their drinks in are great for glasses around the house.

I think of this place as Subway on steroids. The meats taste fresher and they have more options that I enjoy. The sandwiches are steamed hot so that is nice too. If you are feeling spunky go for the nachos. It is only Doritos and pepper jack cheese but they somehow are awesome.

Food is great but I don’t want to even visit anymore because of the bathroom cleanliness (like another review mentioned). That makes the restaurant feel gross & like they aren’t taking care of other things.

Bought the chicken salad.. seemed to have more egg than chicken.. Asked the counter about it.. They said who ever made it, goofed it up. End of story.

The food is always so good here but the restaurant is always dirty. We came in around 3:45pm and were the only ones in the restaurant with 3 people working. Someone could have been cleaning up. This place is in a prime location and in one of the nicest parts of Birmingham - it should look better for customers.

07/12/25 Saturday about 6:45pm - This would be 3-stars but it's just too dirty in there. The staff was friendly, took and presented my order well. That was the best part. After I placed my order I went to the bathroom. The only clean areas were the toiletseat and inside the toilet bowl. The bathroom was as dirty as an old gas station bathroom. The sink has not been washed out. It had built up dirt in it, The walls, baseboards, and around the toilet base were FILTY. After I walked out of the bathroom, I found a table around the corner from the soda fountain. As I passed the soda fountain, I noticed that the floor was not sticky, so that was good. The corner I sat in had a two-seater table and a hole in the wall behind it. I looked down the floor alongside the wall, was visibly dirty and the baseboards all along that area, right around to the storefront window, were fifty. I got up to go wait by the counter for my food and paid closer attention to the condiments station, as it sat with the soda fountain, that seemed clean enough. While waiting for my sandwich, I noticed the visible disrepair of the back kitchen door (white with black dirt going up the lower quarter). My sandwich was hot pastrami and provolone, with lettuce and tomatoes, deli mustard, on a white hoagie, It was flat like a panini with little lettuce and tomatoes. This shop needs a day off to clean it from top to bottom.

The food is good but there's some kind of subtle hostility with the attitudes of the people behind the counter. I've eat there several times, never had even the smallest altercation but everytime they act resentful. Very unfriendly. Imo, the owner/manager should clean house and hire people who can at least pretend to appreciate the customers. Too many nearby food choices to support this place.

The service is horrendous like one of the previous reviewers stated. The girl talks in low monotone voice and never looks at you. How she speaks to you is rude and short. She seemed to be put out for having to do her F’ing job. The meatball sub I had was good.

I've heard great things so I finally tried it, but I was very disappointed. The nachos I've heard so much about must've been sitting out because they were cold and soggy. The meatball sub I got fell apart with the first bite. It still tasted fine, but I was very disappointed with my whole experience there.

First time at Momma Goldberg’s Deli. Employees were kind but this was the lowest quality deli sandwich I’ve ever had. The lettuce and tomato weren’t fresh, I asked for sourdough and I pray to God they’re not trying to pass this white bread as sourdough, and the American cheese is this orange slime they put on my sandwich. Oh, and it cost me $12. To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement and I wish I would have gone anywhere else. 😭

I can’t get in touch with someone via phone so I’ll have to leave a review. My partner and I ate here 30 minutes ago. We asked for no cheese on his sandwich. They did not fulfill this request. My partner is allergic and now having a miserable THREE HOUR car ride dealing with lactose intolerance. DO BETTER.
