Nice place. Fondue is good but the sides and meats could use some seasoning. Some dry rubs for the table would be nice.

We visit here everytime we make it to the City. The truffle fondue is the best. I also recommend trying the bacon in the chocolate, yummy.

Perfect fondue experience. Staff was amazing and helpful. The place is small so be prepared for that but be ready for a great meal.

Beautiful, quaint, gorgeous, and fancy, I LOVED Taureau. I've had fondue in Switzerland and it wasn't nearly as good as this. My friend and I did the Prix Fixe option, which is a three-course fondue meal of cheese, meat, and dessert. My ONLY negative was that our service between courses was extremely slow. It took a good 3+ hours for us to have our full meal. But in good company and amazing food, it was still well worth it. For the first course, we had a truffle oil cheese (pictured) that was just spectacular, with a side of salami and their unlimited croutons and salad. The second course we had filet mignon and pork tenderloin that you cook briefly in a broth of your choosing (we chose the red wine broth). If you can, I'd get two servings of the filet mignon because it is SO GOOD. And for the third course, we had dark chocolate fondue with an array of marshmallows, fruits, and cake. Absolutely amazing. Their house Bordeaux is also very good if you're a red wine lover like myself. I'm definitely planning to take my boyfriend here should we ever make a trip out to New York in the future.

I love melted cheese. This place sells melted cheese. Good melted cheese. Thus, I love this place. Be warned, they are resistant to letting you take your leftover melted cheese home.

Absolutely amazing experience here. Wouldn't recommend the pepper jack cheese fondue but otherwise really incredible. Can't wait to come back.

Wow. Had a fantastic dinner here last night for my birthday with 3 others. We started with a bottle of sparkling wine, and chose the 3 course pre fixe menu. We had two cheese fondues, the Pyrenees and the Smoked Dutch. They were both great but the Smoked Dutch was AMAZING. The cheese includes unlimited salad and croutons, but we chose to add on a 4 side plate, including carrots, apples. salami, and french pickles. I'd recommend them all except the carrots, as they were steamed instead of raw and were easy to lose in the cheese. For our meat course, 3 of us chose hangar steak and 1 chose filet mignon. We chose the red wine broth as the cooking broth. Again, this course was fantastic, and I especially loved the homemade dipping sauces. We got one pot of dark and one pot of milk chocolate for dessert. The put a candle in the pound cake which was very thoughtful. The dippers included strawberries, bananas, pound cake, banana cake, marshmallows, apples, and pears. This was all great except I didn't love the apples and pears with the chocolate. They were very generous and brought us extra strawberries and bananas. Overall, this was a memorable experience in a lovely intimate setting. Would definitely recommend!

Best fondue in the city. Quaint, personal, and takes reservations. Several prix fixe options allowing you to decide how much you want to commit to - be it food or $. Selling point here is their BYOB option - no corkage fee and they'll help you keep your second onward options chilling if you need. For cheese, the Devil's Wiff is amazing. It's a blend of peperoncino, red wine, and sharp cheddar. It's got a spicy unique flavor - but no worries. If you try and hate, they'll change it out. When has being adventurous ever been so safe?!? For chocolate, go with milk as the white chocolate here is room temperature. Service is super attentive.

I
Irene Adler

Their cheese fondues are amazing. I wish it was possible to just order a giant vat of cheese fondue for the meal. The selection of crudites is not the most broad that I've seen, but I like to keep it simple so the classic bread and apples are all I want.

This is the place to go when you want Fondue. It's expensive, but worth it. There are other options available for those who don't fondue 🫕. Bring your appetite and save room for dessert.

My boyfriend and I had the three course meal for a late Valentine's Day date. We loved the cheddar/Monterrey cheese fondue, the hanger steak and pork tenderloin with veggie broth, and the milk chocolate fondue!

R
Robin Murphy

Food was fantastic. And there was sooooo much of it (maybe it was because we were a party of three and they gave us two pots of everything so it was as if there was food for 4). What we didn’t know before we came is they only accept American Express and cryptocurrency (and cash), no Visa or MasterCard. They do have an atm right outside the restaurant which was out of order last night but happily they let us pay by PayPal do we didn’t have to wash dishes!

M
Mr Spiffy

I had my reservations on a cheese fondue meal but I stand corrected when I went to this place. My partner convinced me and she was spot on! The atmosphere and vibe was good as many restaurants are. We had the devil's whiff fondue and another flavor (sorry, can't remember) with bread, cheese, steak and filet minion and I must say I was quite pleased. Spicy cheese with nutmeg! Next level! Well pleased with the experience even though it was a bit pricey. Nice place to take that special someone or with a group of friends.

C

Taureau has amazing fondue. My brother and I go here for birthdays and any other major celebrations all the time because it's just so satisfying! The dark chocolate is phenomenal. The perigord cheese is incredible (ask for apples or pears with it!). And the red wine broth with the filet mignon is extraordinary -- especially when you get two burners and dip the meat in the cheese fondue... ;) It's not quite as good of a value as it used to be, but still amazing :)

J
Josh Levine

We ended up at Taureau trying to forget a horrific DIY fondue attempt at home. Every cheese they served us was more delicious than the last, and we left happy and painfully full. Not cheap, but we had a great time here. Great food and great atmosphere. Best fondue I've ever had.

My fiancé and I went here for the first time on my birthday and recently returned for our anniversary dinner. The ambiance is cozy, romantic, and intimate - a rarity in the city. Service was great, the servers are attentive without being overbearing. All three fondue courses were delicious. We ordered a bottle of the house bordeaux, which paired with the meal well. All of the cheeses sound delicious, but we got the swiss - and it was dreamy, definitely order some apples to go with it. The steak was tender and full of flavor, we also loved the dipping sauces. Of course, the chocolate fondue was fantastic, we ordered the dark chocolate and it was the right level of bitter while still being sweet and tasty. You can order more croutons or salad for the cheese, or fruits or cakes for the chocolate, but the initial portions are pretty plentiful on their own. Highly recommend for anyone who wants fondue with quality service and a quiet atmosphere.

M
Mazen Meziad

It is expensive to get the fondue, but the truffle fondue is incredible. The milk chocolate fondue is also amazing. The experience of eating the fondue is also unique compared to other foods

J
Jared Sunshine

Taureau is a thoroughly unique and indulgent experience, virtually tailor-made for dates and special occasions. The meal is prix fixe because there are only three courses: cheese fondue, a broth or oil bath to cook your own meat of choice, and a chocolate fondue pot to finish. Lest this sound boring, there are ample options and customizations to each closer to keep things interesting. The service is attentive and thoughtful, and the decor is reminiscent of a side street French bistro. And the prices are almost unreasonably decent for such an unusually fun experience.

I got the Soprano with a lot of veggies and made the fillet minot with canola oil, white chocolate for desert. Croutons were my favorite, potatoes were my least. Overall a 5/5 experience

Great place for Fondue! Especially the Meat Fondue! Drinks were great and dessert and entrees were even better! Vibe was nice and cozy, not too busy. Came on a Tuesday because it was my child's 17th Birthday, and he wanted some Fondue. Prices were just right too. I would definitely recommend.

My mom and I have been searching for a great fondue spot in NYC ever since our old favorite, Artisanal, closed — and Taureau completely filled that void. It was fantastic from start to finish. We stopped in after a matinee show and were pleasantly surprised to walk right in and get a table. It was quiet when we arrived, which gave us a lovely, intimate start to the experience, but by dinner time the place was packed. Based on how quickly it filled up, I’d definitely recommend reservations for evening dining. The service was exceptional. Our waiter and the entire staff were attentive without being intrusive, and they really elevated the experience. We ordered all three fondues — cheese, meat, and chocolate. The Old Swiss cheese fondue was incredible and a generous portion. We added potatoes and apples for dipping; the potatoes were great, but the apples were absolutely divine and paired perfectly with the cheese. For the meat course, they were out of filet mignon, so we chose hanger steak instead — and it ended up being a happy surprise. I’m not usually a hanger steak person, but it was tender and full of flavor. Our waiter guided us on cooking time so we could get the perfect medium. We chose canola oil for cooking and were glad we did; another table used olive oil and the aroma was a bit strong for my taste. Even without seasoning, the meat was flavorful thanks to the herb- and vegetable-infused oil. The sauces were excellent, especially the truffle mushroom sauce — I could have eaten it by itself. The only tiny change I would have made: I ordered bread that arrived with the meat, but I wish I’d had it with the cheese course instead. Still, a minor detail in an otherwise perfect meal. For dessert, the milk chocolate fondue came with an enormous platter of fruit, cakes, marshmallows, and treats. It was so good we joked about trying to take it back to our hotel room. Overall, this was a 10/10 experience. If you love fondue, this place is a must. It’s especially perfect after a matinee when the wait is minimal, but make reservations for dinner — it gets busy for a reason.

This is absolutely my favorite fondue place, even better than anywhere I’ve been in France and Switzerland. The truffle fondue is out of this world, and the chef’s idea to bake the croutons was simply genius!! It makes the perfect combination. I’ve actually read some reviews complaining about this, but this person might not know that you need to completely dip your piece of bread in the pot and stir the bottom. Fondue is made of a combination of cheeses, and each have a different density. Therefore, with every bite, you need to stir your cheese in the fondue pot to ensure you’re picking up all the flavor. Simply delicious!

This place is a staple for a great long night out, highly suggest! Always going with the full three course option which gives you cheese fondue with bread and salad, a protein course cooked in red wine broth, and finally a delicious chocolate course. The prices may seem pretty high at first and then you realise it is more of an experience than any other sit down restaurant. You actually get to share the time together with whoever you have gone with, dipping or cooking your own meal together while indulging. This is totally a different experience than getting the meal placed in front of you and you eat and leave. You can easily spend two hours here if they let you on a non-busy night. Food is great, ambiance is nice, and the price is fair. Definitely would suggest checking out Taureau!

I’ve come here twice and I have had the most wonderful experiences with my friends and family. The Truffle cheese fondue is incredible!! It’s pricy, but it’s worth every penny. I will come again for sure!

Some of the best food I have had in a long while. We had a party of 6 and all shared so I had an opportunity to try a bunch of the dishes and desserts. The flank steak and filet mignon where top notch and the seafood pasta was amazing. The apitizers also didn't disappoint, the escargot was the best I have had anywhere. This is my second time there. We got with the trio fondue. What an absolutely lovely evening this was. The bar + food selection is amazing, the prices are totally reasonable, and the staff were attentive and lovely. My boyfriend and I were over the moon from the time we sat down to the end of the meal. We got the Pyrenees cheese first, with bacon, chorizo, pears, and apple, and then the hanger steak in white wine broth. The space is cozy and intimate and warm. If you are tired of tiny cocktails, loud buzz, and meh dinner options, this is such a fun date night! The cheese fondue was amazing. We got the truffle cheese fondue and red wine broth to cook the meat. If I could just go here for the cheese fondue I would since I found the broth lacking in flavor for my taste. However, the menu is prix fixe so we got the meat as well. Would return because the service and atmosphere was great.

Food is fresh and portions are ok, except for the chocolate fondue, which has about 2 tablespoons of chocolate. If chocolate fondue portion was a little bigger, I'd give it 5 stars.

Great service and food! Cheese quality is awesome, wine choice are OK. But, the price is too high on my point of view.

I went here on my birthday and I had a great time with my boyfriend! We both shared the three-course meal and we were SO full by the end! I do wish that in the beginning that they would provide apples or something other than just bread to dip the cheese and two. The second course with the wind broth is really good with the filet mignon!! Our server even brought me a cup of ice cream with a candle at the end of our meal!

Taureau is a must for cheese-lovers! Though I wish their prices haven't increased so much and that they were still BYOB, I've returned because the selections can't be beat. Go for the prix-fixe with a cheese course (Perigord and Smoked Dutch are both tops), meat course (cooked in oil), and dessert course (chocolate) for the full experience.

Delicious authentic french fondu restaurant in soho. The cheese fondu was my favorite course. The perigord was recommended because of its delicious truffle flavors. It was delicate and delicious. The meat fondu course had delicious filet mignon. My favorite was this in the vegetable broth. The chocolate fondu was expected. The staff was very friendly and refrigerated our white wines that we brought for no fee. Great date restaurant.

Taureau used to be my favorite restaurant in New York. This place offers amazing cheese fondues. Among the traditional ones, there is also a few innovations using different cheeses. The best in my opinion is the Perigord with truffle. But victim of its success, it became quite crowded during the summer. And as an answer, the restaurant replaced the fondues a la carte (usually around $20) to be replaced with a $60 prix-fixe menu made of one cheese fondue, one meat and one chocolate fondue. Being a cheese lover, I was not thrilled to pay more for a menu that does not focus on the cheese fondue. I hope the restaurant may revert back to the former a la carte menu.

This is actually 2 restaurants with Taureau for fondues. It's a small romantic space. You get to choose a cheese and a meat with a two course meal or a chocolate fondue with the 3 course meal. Other items will be extra such as fruits, vegetables or meats.

Good option for cheese and meat fondue. I had the Italico Fontal cheese fondue and it was good. I like simplicity in the cheese fondues. The flank steak was pretty good. I think it's a better option than the filet mignon. And don't forget to bring your bottle! It's BYOB.

This space is small and the food is deliciously fun. I have noticed the poorer reviews from the past but it appears the folks behind Taureau listened and improved their ways. We were a party of 4 and all first-timers to Taureau on a Sunday night. We opted for the "Eco Village" menu and it was great! The waitress for the entire place that night was wonderfully helpful and guided us through all the courses. We opted for the Pyrenees and Soprano cheeses, which were both amazing. (However, I must admit: I'm a huge cheese lover and melted cheese pots would rarely yield complaints from me.) Our 4th dining pal is a vegetarian and during our meat course she got another cheese pot...to herself! It was all amazing and surprisingly a good amount of food for the price. I was surprised by the meat portion as I figured they would be on the smaller portion, but it suited us perfectly. The hanger steak is not to be missed and the thick-cut slab bacon was just decadent. Plus, the chocolate fondues were terrific. I'm not a huge fan of milk chocolate but both the dark and milk chocolate pots weren't overly sweet and went well with the fruit. Overall, this is a great spot for dates and special occasions.

Taureau was a nice experience however it is a little bit pricey. For just my husband and I we got the Cheddar cheese(only came with bread and the canola oil with all 3 meats mix plus 2 drinks and we spend nearly 200 dollars...sadly there no more prefix menu that you can get all 3 fondue for a certain price per person.

R TAUREAU is a hidden gem in Manhattan for anyone who loves fondue and cozy dining experiences. This intimate restaurant perfectly balances traditional French charm with a modern, urban vibe, making it a great spot for a unique meal. Ambiance: The restaurant’s warm and inviting decor immediately sets the tone for a memorable evening. Low lighting, rustic wooden tables, and a quaint, romantic atmosphere make it ideal for both date nights and small gatherings with friends. Menu Highlights: TAUREAU specializes in all things fondue, offering cheese, oil-based, and dessert options. The cheese fondue selection is outstanding, featuring classics like Gruyère and Emmental blends, as well as creative twists like truffle-infused versions. For the main course, the oil-based meat fondue allows you to cook premium cuts of beef, chicken, or seafood at your own pace. The dessert fondue is the cherry on top—decadent melted chocolate served with fresh fruit, marshmallows, and pastries. Pairing these dishes with their curated wine selection enhances the experience further. Service: The staff at TAUREAU are attentive and knowledgeable, eager to guide you through the menu and ensure your fondue experience is enjoyable. They also do a great job explaining how to use the equipment if you’re new to fondue dining. Pricing: While slightly on the pricier side, the quality of ingredients and the overall experience justify the cost. It’s an excellent value for a special occasion or indulgent night out. Final Thoughts: TAUREAU is a delightful escape in Manhattan that brings a slice of France to the city. Whether you’re a fondue enthusiast or trying it for the first time, this spot delivers a fun, interactive dining experience that will leave you wanting to come back. Highly recommended for those seeking a unique culinary adventure!

I was craving fondue and learned there are not many places in NYC that does the whole thing. Taureau was great, they accept all forms of payment even though resy says otherwise. We got cheese and chocolate fondue and enjoyed it.

Great food great customer service only complaint is I thought the wine broth was a part of the $60 for two meal the broth it self was $60 wow I wish the waitress told me it wasn’t included. However great place great experience.

Induction cooker was broken and didn’t heat the broth. We had to use our neighbor’s. The food was good but pricey.

Q
Quack!

Fun experience but WAY too expensive. If you do the math it’s literally $70 per pot of fondue. The bill WILL come up to about $150 for 2 after tax and tip which is a rip off for just cheese and bread and salad and chocolate.

L

Not what it used to be. Noticeably less quality in cheeses and Discontinued BYOB make this just a standard restaurant with overpriced menu.

P

Great food....the quality of food was of course great. But $75 inclusive taxes and tips for one person for molten cheese and chocolate seems really overpriced. And this was without the add-ons or anything.

Fondue was good, but the place is dirty. I don’t know, so weird, for the restaurant like that. You can see that place is old, it’s not a bad thing, but it smells bad too.

Curious to know if the other reviewers have had truly authentic fondue. I ordered the “Old Swiss” traditional cheese fondue and was surprised by the flavor. I’ve never had a blend of cheese that sharp for a classic cheese fondue. I guess I should’ve taken the hint when the server didn’t even suggest it as the best. I’ve had fondue all over France and Switzerland and never had anything taste like that. Hate to call out where they got their recipe from but I’ve eaten this dish hundreds of times in my life. It was a huge let down. They were nice enough to swap it out for the Pyreénes blend and was also surprised by what they served. It was okay but for one of the “most popular” recipes they offer, it was extremely underwhelming. So much nutmeg it tasted like a graham cracker. Their beef fondue was solid. That’s what saved the day. However, the slices of filet could’ve been cut one more time. The sauces were delicious.

I go to this place a few times a year but saw last night that they raised the prices for the meats they offer for fondue.. +$30 for filet mignon! $15 for hanger steak and $5 for chicken. That raises our bill quite a bit! And it's really getting too expensive per person on top of the 3-courses deal of $69.. Adding $30 and $15 for red meat is just a bit outrageous for just a few pieces of meat. We'll probably skip it for a while and see if prices go back to normal. Waiters are always professional and friendly though!

The cheese fondue was decent but nothing was amazing. The bacon was very salty, so it only works well with certain cheeses. There was a lot miscommunication with the service all night which eventually got annoying. Asked for the menu and got a drink menu instead of food; fine, no one clarified. Water bottle getting low so it was taken, but a new one was never brought. Croutons were getting low and they asked if we wanted more; we didn't really, but then they took away the little bit of croutons that were left, and we had to ask for more.

My husband and I have been going to Taureau for years before when it was a BYOB and they were at a different location. I understand inflation and when prices need to be increased but seeing this place nickel and diming the customers is outrageous. $30 for cheese would get you croutons and salad. Now they are charging $6 for salad? Everything on the menu is a surcharge. Not the same anymore . Removed the pre-fix options which made sense. Love the atmosphere and very romantic but not worth the price anymore.

We waited for our table more than 1:15 minutes though we booked and pairs in advance. Good fondue but they were very rude to everyone and kept many people waiting for more than an hour after their reservation. Would not go back there.

The salty fondue (Old Swiss cheese and filet mignon in red wine)was good, the only thing I can say didn't like was that in the menu they offer young potatoes and they just cut a big potato into for square 1x2inches 👎🏻 In the worst side on the sweet fondue (chocolate) I think it as the worst chocolate in fondue I've ever tasted before and finding a piece of plastic about 2inches long by 4 millimeters wide was the most disgusting. Comparing to other like in Gramado or France it was the worst!

I
Isabel FS

If you’re looking for a good fondue this IS NOT the place. Nice atmosphere and service however the fondue does NOt taste good, maybe they mixed the cheese with flour or something because it did not taste pure cheese as fondue should be. The chocolate one had a weird taste alsob

The service here was terrible - we waited over an hour for the first course to be brought and the rest took a long time too. Our dinner ended up taking close to 4 hours, much of it spent waiting. The food was good, but nothing special, and the prices are outrageous for what it is. For 2 people, you pay about $150, and that's before taxes, tip, and drinks! We ended up with a bill of $250 per couple. Also, if you are in the private party room (formerly Zoya's), one side of the table sits on a bench, which is soft, but very narrow. Not the best place to sit for 4 hours.

We recently visited Taureau in New York for the second time and, unfortunately, it was a letdown compared to our first experience. The restaurant felt dated, dusty, and not as well-maintained as we remembered. For the price, the overall atmosphere and cleanliness just didn’t match the expectation. We ordered the fondue, which was decent but not particularly memorable. We also tried the meat selection, and found it to be underwhelming. The quality just wasn't what you’d hope for given the cost. It’s disappointing because we had high hopes based on our previous visit, but this time it just didn’t deliver. Overall, a mediocre experience and I would probably not return.

I came to Taureau a few years ago and was underwhelmed and ended up having to wait 35 mins after our reservation time to be seated, but I thought I'd give it another go this year for Valentine's Day, which only turned out to be a total disaster. My boyfriend and I had an 8:30 reservation and optimistically showed up 10 minutes early. The hostess told us we'd need to wait for 10-15 mins in the bar next door, which was also owned by Taureau, and found ourselves in the company of 30 other people who had been waiting to be seated for over an hour after their reservation time. We got a glass of wine, sat down with a few other couples and complained about the poor management as the hostess kept coming back into the bar to tell everyone individually that they're next in line and that there were some "complications" that night. There were still couples with 7:30 reservations being seated at 9:00. There is literally one day a year that any restaurant cannot screw up, and yet Taureau managed to ruin the night of every single patron who came hoping to get their hands on some fondue on Valentine's Day. All the while, the staff kept complaining about how many people showed up, as if it's not their job to manage a restaurant and multiple reservations at once. Meanwhile, everyone else was impatiently awaiting their meals and thinking of honestly leaving, however, everyone who made a reservation for Valentine's Day had to either pay a cash deposit or give Taureau their credit card information in advance, meaning that we were essentially held hostage in a tiny bar smelling fondue for hours before being seated. Every 10 minutes or so, the hostess would come in the bar and tell us the order of who's next in line and then proceed to seat people with later reservations and even one couple who didn't have a reservation at all, before seating the people who had been waiting for hours. Sometimes she would come get a couple and bring them into the restaurant and then they would immediately return to the bar because she didn't end up having a table for them. We were eventually seated at 9:45--an hour and 15 mins after our reservation-- in very cramped quarters at an extremely sticky table. The service was slow, inattentive, and unapologetic and the food was decent, but the final straw came when we got our bill at 11:30pm, 3 hours after our reservation, and they had charged us for the full price of the dinner, including the drinks we had at the bar while waiting and hour and 15 mins to be seated. I waited 15 minutes for our waiter to come back to get the bill so I could express my discontent, but they never came, so I went to the back to find someone to complain to. I told them I wouldn't pay full price because this whole experience was unacceptable and about 5 mins later they came back and told me they'd only take off one round of drinks and give us a bunch of coupons for next time. At this point, I was tired and frustrated and just wanted to get the hell out of that restaurant, so I agreed. I again waited an extended period of time for them to bring me back my credit card--over 15 minutes to be sure--and we repeatedly asked various service staff where my credit card was and then they would respond "oh I'm sure someone's on it" and disappear into the back. I'm still not sure what they could have been doing with my credit card for over 15 minutes other than engaging in something unprofessional and definitely illegal... They never ended up giving me coupons for next time, but to be honest I won't be needing them since I definitely won't be returning to this place ever again. I thought my experience here two years ago was bad, and I expected that they would get their act together in those two years, but nothing prepared me for how utterly horrible and unacceptable this experience was. We were the second-to-last couple to leave the restaurant that night, the only other couple remaining hadn't been seated until well after 10:30pm.

Rip off. Quite expensive for the experience. The fondue is non Refill so the cheese portion is not enough for two people. Horrible wine list too. I went to a Michelin star the day before and spent less money and eating 100x better. I’m not coming back and don’t recommend it to anyone. The only pro was the service.

Went to Taureau for dinner last night and left feeling disappointed and ripped off. I do not understand how this place has so many good reviews. The food is terrible. We ordered the 3 course pre-fix of cheddar-monterey for cheese, red wine (which we ended up switching to the olive oil) for the meat, and the dark chocolate for dessert. The cheese had no flavor. No tanginess, no sharpness. The croutons and salad were the best part of the first course but the fondue didn't taste like anything. We ordered a combination of sides to also dip into the cheese. The broccoli and potatoes were steamed vegetables, no salt or flavor or anything. The cured bacon was incredibly tough to chew. Taureau does seem to give everyone massive portions on their tiny plates, but other than the bread, salad, and bottle of wine we had, the first course was not good. The two meats we chose were the filet mignon and the hangar steak. Again, Taureau does not skimp on the portions. The server came by with the red wine broth and told us how to cook the meats once the broth was boiling: 15 seconds for medium rare, 30 for medium, and well done beyond that. Nothing cooked in 15 seconds, in fact nothing cooked in 45+ seconds. We switched to the oil because we were having issues with the red wine broth. Again, we had to leave meat much longer than anticipated to fully cook it inside. The meats were not marinated or seasoned, just raw. The aioli dipping sauce was the only thing that gave it flavor. We probably should've left then, but kept assuring ourselves that chocolate fondue couldn't be messed up and dessert would be fine. At this point, I think our server could tell we weren't having the best time so we were poured a free glass of wine. We had the dark chocolate for dessert. It also unbelievably had zero flavor. The "seasonal" fruits were fine, pears and apples were a bit of an odd choice for chocolate fondue. It was unreal how flavorless the chocolate was. We ended up eating most of the fruit just on its own and were happy to leave. I had absolutely no issues with the service at Taureau. We had reservations, were a few minutes late, and were seated promptly. The servers were friendly and helpful when they sensed we weren't having the best time. But for hundreds of dollars, I'd expect infinitely better quality food. Again, we are so confused as to how this place has the rating it does. The food is not good and definitely not worth the price.

Place is very nice and food is tasty, but disappointing to see dogs being put inside especially with the open food. To eat fondue and cook your own food with a dog next to you shaking its fur and moving around the waiters and servers is poor health etiquette especially for customers who may be allergic
