M.J. O’Connor’s – Westin Boston Seaport District

This restaurant is located inside the Westin which is to the left of the main Boston convention center. It’s an Irish pub and delivers on that. The food and drinks were good. I have been here for several conferences over the years. It’s well run abs a consistent place to eat when you are in this area. It does get busy depending on what conferences and events are in town.

I initially thought this place was just another hotel bar but the food here truly hits the spot. Came here after checking out my room for a last minute brunch. My friends and I wanted one last taste of Boston and shared the Lamb Meatballs (I couldn’t resist and took a bite before taking a picture) and Lobster Rolls as a table. I do wish the meatballs were a bit larger. For my entree I had the Po Boy and a mimosa. The restaurant gives a lowkey vibe that would be good for both dinner and/ or lunch. Service was quick and we were lucky enough to be seated upon walk in. The place was packed!

The food was delicious but the Pedro’s service the best! We visited Boston some days staying at Westin hotel. The restaurant is at the lobby next to the hotel bar.

Ended up eating here a lot during our stay, due to a friend having Celiacs and this place had a very accommodating menu. Everything I had was very good, with the beer battered fish and chips being the strongest. The cocktails were better then average as well. The best part was my friend was able to enjoy multiple meals out without suffering from their celiacs, which is S class service in my book.

The salmon was exquisite, and the rice was prepared perfectly. My companions had the clam chowder and said it was delicious. The tables' only complaint was with the small number of steak tips that came as an additional charge with the Cesar salad. Considering the additional charge, we all agreed there should have been a greater quantity of steak than what was given.

Had amazing food and staff went out of their way to make our experience special.

Nice ambience & waitress was attentive. Prices in this region are expensive, so I was happy to pay the tab on my Reuben sandwich. Subbed out the fries for clam chowder. Perfect substitution. The sandwich was meaty & flavorful with adequate sauce. Bar patrons were chatty, but that is why you go to these establishments. TV/Cable was spotty and it took more time than expected to retrieve the check.

Not just another hotel restaurant. Award winning Clam Chowder and many delicious choices for small bites and entrees. Definitely recommend!

The food was delicious both nights that I ate here, while attending a Convention at the Westin Hotel. The clam chowder, fish tacos, and chicken sandwich were all delicious. The staff members were friendly and helpful. Comfortable atmosphere. Thank you

The Cajun shrimp pasta dish was delish, as well as the paddock fish and chips. Great clam chowder as well.

Located inside the Westin Boston Seaport District hotel. Not part of their room service but you can order food to go. The seafood stew was so delicious that first night that I ended up going for lunch and dinner there every day of my stay and EVERYTHING was consistently delicious. 🤤 Highly recommend

We went there for dinner on Friday and it was really good! They found a table for us even though it was very busy. The food was delicious and cooked very good. We really enjoyed it!

Despite being in the hotel, this gem was a great find? The atmosphere was great and you could still enjoy a conversation without screaming. Everything was very clean and the food was absolutely delicious! Everything was cold properly. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They did a great job making the drinks as well. I will be back here!

My husband and I ate here during our trip and it was a great find especially during the holidays creating a joyous atmosphere. Everyone was great from the front host to our waiter. The food was outstanding and we will definitely be back in the future!

Super chill environment, great for drinks after work or for a bite after a show. Mush try the fish a chips’ (it’s enough for 2)

Clam chowder was very good and the fish and chips was like an English west country pub style, thick and tasty. Most places serve thin small bits of smashed up fish but MJ's did the job 👍

Cool restaurant with friendly staff; the classic burger is not amazing but they serve bottled root beer and it's a good place to get dinner.

Came in before the show. Mussels were recommended and delicious! Had the calamari too. Also very good! Burger was cooked perfectly. Bartender was friendly and made great cocktails!! Would definitely recommend and return

A group of 30 recently hosted a reunion event here. Mariela was wonderful and helpful in setting everything up. The event itself was great. Service was excellent, food was great/reasonably priced, and everyone had a great time.

Chicken sandwich was slippery and messy, but it wasn't bad. The hot sauce was good. The feeling is less Irish pub and more of a generic pub.

The restaurant is what you would expect from a pub as far as food goes, but with downtown prices. The staff is professional, the atmosphere is average and can get a bit loud. Parking is somewhat tricky unless you use the valet at the hotel.

Very pricy for the quality, but does have a great location and atmosphere. Can get quite loud in the evenings, it's calmer during afternoons. The pretzel bites are delicious, and I highly recommend them!

M.J. O’Connor’s is located inside the Westin Boston Seaport hotel. It has a comfortable relaxed atmosphere with pleasant staff and better than average food.

We stayed at the Westin and stopped in for a beer and appetizer. Requested patio seating. Service was okay. Truffalo cauliflower was outstanding! Alcohol-free option included Heineken 0.0, which was perfect with the cauliflower.

A fine general purpose restaurant in the Westin Boston Seaport. Burgers, sandwiches, tacos, a steak, a couple of fish dishes, and of course the clam chowder and lobster roll. Come when it's not too busy, and you can chill out ar one of the tables by the windows and patio. Suitable if you didn't want to head to one of the many restaurants in the Seaport area.

They have amazing fried fish and chowder. Fish tacos are my favorite in the area. My bartender was the sweetest most attentive person ever. Not many options for food or specialty cocktails. But what they do have is fire.

Caesar was light and the croutons made the salad. The fish and chips, the fish was light and flaky, good flavor and the fries don’t disappoint.

The fish tacos were good. The fish and chips were amazing! And the clam chowdah was good!

The food was great—-the service was not so great. There were 4 of us; we had cocktails and different meals: all were good. We had wanted another round of cocktails and a desert menu, but the waiter NEVER ONCE came back to our table to see if we wanted/needed anything. We only saw him again when he brought us the bill. Very disappointing.

This is the restaurant attached to the Westin seaport. Service was pretty good. Cocktail was not great. Chowder, delicious. My fish was overcooked and the asparagus was stringy but both had okay flavor. Certainly convenient if you're staying at the Westin and cheaper than eating at their lobby bar.

Fish tacos was good but the clam chowder barely had any clams, like two small pieces.

We ate here because it was conveniently located in the hotel after a conference. The front bar half of the restaurant was closed, so it felt off walking through to get to the dining room. The food was, to use my kiddos term, mid. The burger wasn’t as good as a five guys or chilis burger, it was just a burger. Not good, not bad. My honey had the Caesar salad and said it was good. For what you get, it was overpriced, but it was in a hotel so I guess that’s to be expected.

We had dinner there first night while staying at the Westin. Waiter seemed annoyed initially but warmed up overtime. For the price, you can get tastier food elsewhere. The children’s pizza was burnt and bitter.

We had an okay experience here but I wouldn’t return. I got the Atlantic cod with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My husband got the chicken caprese sandwich. The food was just okay. The chicken in my husband’s sandwich looked pink. The waitress we had was really inattentive. She disappeared after taking our orders and only checked on us when I finished my food. We then had to wait for her to return to give us the check. We were there for over an hour despite there not being very many people. I liked the overall decor and atmosphere but the music was really slow and sad which felt off for the venue.

Thanks for the "medium well" burger. I can practically hear it scream with each bite. Double, maybe triple, how you want your burger cooked, I guess

Saw mice running around the front bar/restaurant, which was a big turnoff. Only came here because I had a hotel voucher. Tried the sandwich and it was super dry wouldn’t come back.

Nice evening having a few nightcaps with my son. Been here many times. Always enjoy..however tonight...TOTAL BS Closed check - all good - added 1 more beer and handed the guy a 20 he clearly looked at it....and it was even up on register. When he gave me change he dropped bills neatly piled...Veteran of a few nightcaps, as always I picked em up and counted em....3 singles.....cmon my man, you trying to clip me? This was no mistake. Interestingly he disappearedand I couldnt find him. So called the other guy over and said???? Other guy walked back and handed me the 10 no discussion..he knew what he did. WATCH YOUR BAR TAB $ !! Not the bald guy with the glasses but the smaller Hispanic guy - he is the clipper. Otherwise great night! As always

I've never had a bad bowl of chowder in Boston, until tonight. And it was probably worst I've ever had. It was far from fresh, probably at least a week old, but worse, it was very clearly microwaved. It was barely warm in spots and cold in others. Fries had been sitting in a warmer god knows how long. Just not good experience.
