Great day celebrating my birthday. Emma and Grace looked afterus and everyone perfectly. Food was delicious we will be back 😋
Really nice evening and nice addition to Westbourne. We live in the med so are spoiled with good set menus so in all honesty are pretty disappointed when we visit the UK for what you get charged for. But in all honesty this was all on point. Set menus very well priced and good variety. Really fresh crab and scallops for starters. Duck was perfectly cooked. Wild boar sausage had big depth. Decor was very tasteful, nice area out the back. Really nice team running it too, who were professional but not rigid. Really appreciate it guys thank you and will pop in on another trip!
The staff were very courteous professional and very attentive We had a Groupon deal of 2 course with Sunday lunch..I had a starter of crab and my wife had tartar tinten All the food was incredible
Definitely would want to return. The salmon was beautifully prepared👌🏼
Having only opened this week, not everything is running smoothly yet. However, the food and service were excellent. There’s a good selection of meals to choose from, and we felt it offered great value for money.
We had a superb meal at Harvey's. Very elegant restaurant, with a great service, and fantastic food. There are several carpaks nearby, and there is also a good shopping arcade on the same St, with nice independent shops. We had potted crab, I had pan roasted salmon with vegetables, my husband had sirloin with roasted veggies and Yorkshire pudding, and then tarted tatting. All excellent! All the waitresses were friendly and very efficient. Highly recommended.
A very welcome addition to Westbourne's food scene with French-accented dining or just a simple lunch. All tastes catered for with excellent service and hopefully this venue will grow to it's full potential
Friday lunch time. Great service and the food was a delight.
This place has a good balance of elegant and charming atmosphere, tasty food (the tart tatins were especially fab) and warm and accommodating staff to ensure the experience is extra memorable. The food is well cooked and feels like high quality ingredients. Portion size good as well. This is the sort of place that people come back to many times.
A chance visit for a light lunch for two, we sat in the garden and thoroughly enjoyed everything. It was excellent value for money for such a high all round standard. I will definitely return. PS my sister paid so I have guesstimated the cost below.
Probably some of the best food we've had in the UK. Menu is focused but exciting and presentation is simply top-tier. Price point is very reasonable, I think it's about thirty quid for two courses, large carafe of wine was about 18 quid. Toilets in the basement is annoying but I get it's a very old building and they can't change that. Well done Harvey's great food and service. Next time we'd like to book for the little secret garden, can't see an option online and you should add this to your site!
We visited as a group of 6 on Friday night. It was a wonderful evening. From the warm and friendly service to the amazing food which we all enjoyed. We just happened to visit the day of our wedding anniversary and they made us feel very special with a complimentary bottle of Prosecco and a warm welcome and anniversary wishes from Brad! We all said we’d return and what a great night we all had. We wish you all the best and many, many successful years ahead!
So glad I stumbled onto this place. Delicious food, great staff and lovely setting. I had the lamb and it was cooked perfectly. Highly recommended!
Duck à l’Orange That Hits All the Right Notes I had the Duck à l’Orange at Harveys Westbourne and it was absolutely delightful. The duck was beautifully cooked—crispy skin, tender meat, and paired with a vibrant orange sauce that was both zesty and refined. It’s a classic dish, and Harveys delivered it with real finesse. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming, and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. It felt like the kind of place where you can truly relax and enjoy good food. One small point for improvement: the baby chair provided was a bit snug for our little one. A slightly larger or more adjustable option would make things more comfortable for families dining with young children. Overall, a fantastic experience. I’ll definitely be returning—and next time, I might just order the duck again.
Visited for dinner with a friend & their 1 year old daughter. The staff were extremely accommodating for the child with a high chair. Service was very welcoming from the moment we walked in, timings of staff coming to table was impeccable & not overbearing. Food was amazing & cooked to perfection & the wine pairing recommendation from the staff was on par. All round great experience, highly recommend & I will definitely be visiting again.
My partner and I dined on Thursday 2nd October We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals . Great service and great ambiance.we will definitely be back Thank you Amilia !
Amazing dinner at Harveys tonight, food was excellent, Emma and the team looked after us all so well. Great addition to Westbourne, well done guys.
Intimate restaurant with lovely staff and the best cheese souffle I have had in years. I inadvertently booked the wrong restaurant and didn't have high hopes of them having a table free. Fortunately, there was one left and although they were very busy fitted our party of four in, plus two cockapoos. Rare to find a restaurant of this standard that is so accommodating. Thank you to our lovely waitress and amazing chef for a perfect evening.
We walked past here on Saturday and saw the place was very busy so we had to try it. Of course there was a bit of a wait but the servers were friendly and welcoming. We managed to get a table of 2 and I have to say the food was definitely worth the wait! I started with the Soufflé which was one of the best I’ve had, my wife thoroughly enjoyed her whitebait. For mains I had the Toulouse Sausage and my wife had the beef and horseradish baguette,we both licked our plates clean and my wife’s favourite was the tart tatin for dessert. In conclusion food excellent, staff excellent and love the decor. We can’t wait to come back!!
I had a brilliant meal at Harveys. I had the salmon and the lamb and it was divine! Service was impeccable. Staff were friendly and attentive, atmosphere was incredible and the food was brilliant. Would 100% recommend and cant wait to come back!
A really nice experience. We had the Groupon 2 course Sunday lunch. Food was hot, tasty and good portion sizes. Service was perfect. Manager very personable and ensured everything was satisfactory.
We love it here and come in whenever we can, whether it's just for a coffee and their gorgeous Tarte Tatin or for their lovely lunch. We're booked in for dinner next week too, which we can't wait for. The staff are very friendly and yes service can be slow but that's because they are very busy, and the food is always amazing. Highly recommend..
I went in for a coffee, and decided to have the soups and prawns for a light lunch, I was expecting cafe food, I wasn’t however envisioning such flavourful or beautifully light dishes. The pairing was incredible and at around £8 each, the dishes were a high quality. Happily surprised this isn’t another overdressed cafe and is in ga g a beautiful eatery, right in the middle of Westbourne. oh and the two ladies running the service were both insightful and warmly professional. I would most certainly add to your, ‘I need to try’ list…
I never leave reviews but really wanted to. We came in on Thursday night. The service was a little slow, but the restaurant was incredibly busy. I didn't see any free tables. We had souffle and potted crab to start both were absolutely excellent and duck a la orange and salmon for our main courses, which again were both excellent. There was a nice selection of vegetables that came on the table and we were told we could've ordered more if we wanted. We were too stuffed to go for the cheeseboard and went for the tart tatin and the champagne sorbet which were both really nice. The tart tatin was as good as I have had in Paris back in 2008. This is a really wonderful little gem and the staff are really friendly. We can't wait to come back.
A really lovely lunch, and excellent value. Highly recommended, and if the weather's up to it, ask for a table on the garden. It was quite busy, so worth making a reservation, just in case. Will definitely come again.
Came with Hubby on Thursday eve. It was fantastic. Lovely house wine, Scallops, Steak Tartar , Duck and Salmon (can’t remember the name but it was fantastic, with lemon butter). Lovely little bistro. Waitress couldn’t do enough for us and were lovely.
I had heard a lot of good things about Harveys and had been meaning to pop in for a while but just never quite got round to it. Finally came in for lunch with my wife and really enjoyed it. I had the salmon, I forget what it was called exactly, something with lemon, butter and capers, and it was honestly one of the best things I have had in a long time. Simple but done properly. The staff were great too, friendly, helpful, but not overbearing. Just a really nice atmosphere all round very reasonably priced. Looking forward to coming back for dinner soon.
I had been recommended Harvey's by a close friend and it DID NOT disappoint! Brilliant atmosphere, lovely staff and great food! It made for a very enjoyable lunch time and I cant wait to come back.
I took my mum & dad for a late birthday present. The food was amazing .The souffle Duck and tart tatin were all delicious.Emma & Eva were were both lovely too.Nothing was too much trouble ,very attentive. We will definitely return.Great atmosphere too.
Visited on a busy Saturday evening with a friend who lives round the corner. Both of us have wanted to try this place since the summer. Team clearly loves what they are doing (apologies have forgotten the name of the lovely waitress). Food is exceptional, starters were really impressive, amazing souffle and charcuterie board and mains of Salmon, Lamb we also excellent. We had tart tatin and a cheesecake and though nothing wrong with my cheesecake at all (was very nice) the tatin is something else. I only had a spoon of my friends, thats all she'd allow me! Next time I'll do that. 10/10 Harveys, well done!
My husband and I had dinner last night and thoroughly enjoyed our choices. I had scallops followed by duck breast and my husband had whitebait followed by lamb, we also ordered a side of dauphoise potatoes - all cooked perfectly. No extra seasoning required. We were made to feel welcome as soon as we entered Harvey’s and the service was excellent. Great music and ambiance- we will definitely be back.
Went to brunch with husband and food was great. Service and atmosphere was wonderful as there was just a wonderful young lady called Amelia was in her own. She chatted and was incredibly polite. Will definitely return.
Went here for dinner lastnight , cannot fault a single thing . The food was absolutely amazing , had the goose to start , beautiful . Duck l’orange was cooked to perfection and so tasty and the cheese board 😍😍 Service was fab , wine was so nice and my husband was pleased they sell zero Peroni as one of the good non alcohol beers ! Harvey’s is very cosy and warm and the lighting is perfect , I’m very fussy with lighting in places and I hate being cold . We will be returning . I love the 2/3 course fixed menu too !
We visited Harveys as everywhere we've been in Westbourne everyone is talking about it ! The staff were brilliant, from the time we arrived to the time we left nothing was to much trouble for them. We had a starter and main and I have to say both were absolutely delicious , the souffle was divine and the duck perfection ! The sides are a lovely addition also. It was very busy, a full restaurant which created a great atmosphere. We will definitely be returning - a new go to place for us. Thank you Harveys!
Our family went to a couple of days ago. The waitress welcomed us with a friendly smile, they helped us to sit our toddler and proceeded to give us the menu. My husband had a soufflé and I choose the charcuterie board. For our baby, we order a small portion of the of warm bread. The service was on time, considering that the souffle takes time to be golden cheesy and crispy. All was lovely, my husband loved the soufflé and the charcuterie board was brilliant. For mains, we decide to have the Lamb rump that was a special and chicken escalope, our child had a small portion of chicken escalope and mashed potatoes which were suggested by the chef. The Lamb was great, with the wine sauce that was delightful. The escalope was juicy, well seasoned and the sauce was the best. We enjoyed very much. For dessert, we decided to order the apple Calvados sorbet, and tart tartin that was delicious. We left very happy knowing we found a little place in Westbourne with amazing food, good atmosphere for any occasion.
We went to Harvey’s and had a great meal. Decor was lovely. Ambience was nice. The waiters/waitresses were great, especially Amelia she was lovely, helpful & professional. I have eaten a lot of French cuisine and been to France quite a few times, and this was fantastic food. We had the soufflé and scallops to start. Then the duck for main. And lastly the toffee cheesecake & tarte tatin. All the food was so delicious. The tarte tatin was the best we’ve ever eaten. Sauce with the duck was so tasty. Merlot was very good. Overall brilliant. I would highly recommend it here.
Great place that is open for breakfast but also dinner! They also have a little hidden outside garden at the rear which was lovely. The service was received was warm and very natural. The food was delicious too. The only negative I can say was menu pricing was not very clear and we did pay more than what we anticipated.
Ate here on a Thursday with my partner. Not been before, but was tempted with the Groupon deal. To start with the service was great. They were very busy, but staff were attentive and made us feel extremely welcome. Tables are slightly close together as a small dining area, which can be a little off putting if you want a private conversation. I had the scallops to start and my partner had the souffle'. The souffle' was very nice, however, my scallops were slightly small. Chicken was lovely. Salmon also very nice. Good portion of veg on the side. Cheesecake and apple tart also excellent.
Waited ages to be served. Food was ok, but had lost the will by the time it turned up! Need more staff. The girls who were serving were very polite and did their best but more staff needed!
We had dinner here with friends (table of four) as we read good things about it and like supporting new businesses. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the place has a charm, especially on a wet winter's evening. But overall I was left quite underwhelmed at this price point. There are many covers trying to make the most of the space so we felt cramped. The tables feel small and the chairs dinky - it's all more cafe style than a proper dinner restaurant. The menu is a "fixed" price for 2 or 3 courses but a number of dishes have surcharges so the fixed price just feels like a front. The food was actually quite tasty but hit & miss. For starters we had the charcuterie board, white bait, and soufflé. The charcuterie was so amateur - like a packet of mixed meats from Tesco - certainly nothing artisan. The basic meats were served with two slithers of apple and three slices of baguette - all very underwhelming. I must say the smoked butter was divine. For mains we had the chicken, duck and salmon. Our friends loved the duck, served beautifully. The salmon was tasty but very oily (half the plate in a puddle of oil) and it was a tiny slither of meat - about 2 cm wide. We ordered a side dish which arrived some time after our mains. We complained and the waitress very generously offered us some wine by way of apology. So two courses, a side, a bottle of wine plus three glasses came to just over £50 per person. We tipped 15% on top and really oddly they bought two machines - one for the meal, and one of those small buy yourself machines for the tip. That didn't feel professional at all. So overall I'd rate this as a daytime cafe but sadly won't be returning for dinner. At that price, there are plenty of better options in more comfortable surrounds and with a more consistent quality of food.
Visited Harvey’s today for lunch …our first visit. On first impression it looks a lovely French bistro nicely furnished with a nice atmosphere. Sat & ordered drinks .. a large wine for me & a soft drink for my partner- no water was offered, we had to ask… there was no house wine on offer, the wine menu did mention a carafe however it wasn’t a small or large carafe just a full bottle of wine poured into it … a small, medium & large glass of wine was expensive by anyone’s standard…most bottles of wine expensive too,not excessively so. The lunch menu was limited which wasn’t a problem & understandable however this limited menus some dishes weren’t available which seemed pour organising considering the small selection. We chose a starter & a main each ( one original main choice wasn’t available) after ordering we seemed to be waiting ages most likely 30/40 mins for the starters which was a simple egg mayonnaise & Asparagus with Hollandaise sauce … the egg Mayo was okay however the hard toasted French bread didn’t go with the dish & broke up into crumbs.. the Asparagus was poor & such a small portion ( asparagus is so cheap at moment) the ends of the asparagus should have been removed as they were inedible…. As mentioned we waited such a long time for starters however both mains arrived ONE minute after the starters … how ridiculous is that .. the chef & the waitress obviously lacking in common sense. .. the waitress just plonked the mains on the table with no apologies as obviously she thought this was acceptable for a up market bistro!!! Both mains were of a poor standard & weren’t describe correctly on the menu … the salmon salad consisted of a bunch of spinach, a couple of green beans, couple of small slices of cucumber, half boiled egg cut up & a few tiny pieces of salmon scattered around the plate - maybe half of a small portion you’d buy in a supermarket. My main was terrible.. can’t even remember its name basically it was two pieces of burnt toast with a little melted nondescript cheese & sweet onion jam out of a jar - which on the menu was described as caramelised onions which it wasn’t, however there were a few spinach leafs on the plate!! After the two courses we decided we’d leave & not have a dessert or coffee, especially when the table next to us was told the tarte tatin wasn’t available … £56 seemed steep for lunch especially with poor quality. Sadly with a few changes this could be a superb addition to the area … business like this don’t seem to realise they have one chance to impress.. in future we’ll bypass & go elsewhere as we are local residents.
As predicted. Sadly just not quite hitting any of the markers for good hospitality. Food very ok. Waitresses very curt, unhelpful, argumentative. Overpriced for what you get. Had to argue over the bill which never helps after £100 of room temperature fizz to start the meal.
A Stylish New Place That’s Still Finding Its Flavour My friend and I visited Harveys today for lunch, interested to try one of the newest additions to Westbourne. First impressions were quite positive: the decor is beautifully done, with a clean, sophisticated design that feels high-end without being pretentious. The space is well-maintained, and it’s clear that attention has been paid to the aesthetic details. That said, while the look of the place suggests a premium experience, the menu and execution haven’t quite caught up yet. The food offering is quite limited—mainly baguettes, filled croissants, and salads—which felt a bit underwhelming. We were hoping for something a bit more creative or diverse, especially considering the upscale setting. What we did try was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. Service was also slower than expected, even though the restaurant wasn’t overly busy at the time and quite a few staff were on duty. It’s understandable that a new establishment may still be working out operational issues but quicker service would definitely elevate the experience. The atmosphere could also be a bit of warmer. While the music might appeal to some, it didn’t quite create the inviting ambiance we were hoping for. A more varied playlist could go a long way in making the space feel more welcoming. On the plus side, the pricing was reasonable for the setting, which makes it an accessible option for a casual lunch or coffee meeting - if you like baguettes and salads. Overall, Harveys shows promise. With such a beautiful space and a decent price point, it has the potential to become a local favorite. A few tweaks to the menu, service pace, and ambiance could really bring the whole concept together. A customer at the next table shared a similar view. We won’t write it off and would like to visit again in the future.
On Tuesday 21st October 2025 the ten of us went to Harveys for the first time for our usual Tuesday Morning coffee meeting because Delish was closed down for business, sadly. We would normally have stayed for lunch as we had been doing for several years at DELISH. We were very disappointed with the coffee and hot chocolate. It was so weak and diluted we see the bottom of the cup. We don't mind paying £3.60 for a decent cup of coffee. What a shame.👎
Our first visit to Harvey’s with great expectations having seen the advertising on social media. The brunch/lunch menu is extremely limited. My friend ordered smoked salmon and cream cheese on a baguette and asked for a plain vinaigrette dressing rather than the orange and shallot dressing and was told it was not possible to have any dressing other than the orange & shallot so had to settle for no dressing on the salad leaves obviously out of a bag which were well past their best as brown around the edges. It would not have been possible to spread less cream cheese in the baguette. I ordered Dorset potted crab, which arrived in a champagne glass, it was not proper potted crab and had far too much lemon in it. I asked for a little fresh bread to go with it as I wasn’t keen on the crostini, I was brought a whole sliced baguette and charged £1.50 for it. My salad leaves were also brown around the edges. I also had the Gruyère cheese soufflé which was not very cheesy, a soufflé with some cheese on the top. We were offered desserts on the house as they knew we were not happy. When we came to pay we asked to split the bill and pay two different amounts with cards which at first appeared to not be possible but was achieved in the end with the waitress having to return to the till. A most disappointing experience alround.
Went here for dinner, was offered a bottle of wine as my husband had met the owner. Unfortunately my husband doesn't like wine and I was driving, so politely declined. Service was slow it was busy, but had been before and the service was good. The waitress came to advise about 15 after I ordered that they didn't have souffle. I'm vegetarian so not much else as didn't want asparagus, then the table next to us, who ordered after us, got 2 soufflés, I asked why to be told there was a mix up and they didn't have it for me and they understood i was not happy. Long wait for the main Mediterranean tart and side salad. The side salad was lettuce on a hot plate. On leaving the waitress said next time we come back. I replied we won't return to be asked why and did I want to talk about it. Seriously you need to up your game and treat customers with respect if you want them to return. Totally ruined are meal.
Sent this to Clare after attendance at a Spanish event. Hi Clare. Just got in from the Spanish evening. I want to feed back because I want you to do well. Unfortunately it was dreadful. We paid £75. No wine served with each course, it was really late. Huge gaps between courses. The wine pairing was less than 1/4 glass. We had no water until we asked and then 1 bottle all evening. Glasses piled up on the tables. Im afraid we none of us enjoyed it and people on the table were saying they wouldn't return. It really needs to have better service. Sorry but I feel its important in this climate to have an honest viewpoint. So very different from the ladies evening. Hope you receive this in the manner its meant. A guy called David phoned me and started to say that an event I had previously for 18 attendees was originally booked for 24... and one of the attendees had said they were mayor! What exactly did i want? Did i know that lorde bute was voted one of the best in the country... and basically called and repeatedly attacked me with a load of lies and totally unrelated rubbish. I told him I was simply trying to feed back. He wasn't interested in the failings of the event or how it could be improved. He tried to tell me I didn't understand what a wine pairing was! I messaged Clare and asked what on earth had she said as she never actually met any of the people I have attended with and her response was Youre correct i haven't met any of the ladies which is why a comment like that wouldnt have come from myself.... I have no idea what's going on and based on my experience I won't be returning. Be careful about feeding back... you may get a nasty call from a very odd man who seems to make up irrelevant rubbish as opposed to listening to constructive criticism!!!!
The Spanish Evening, priced at £75, included a half glass of cava upon arrival at 19:00. A 40-minute wait ensued for an amuse-bouche which was delicious. I requested a top-up of cava but was informed that this was the only option for the menu I had paid for. No further drink orders were offered. After the amuse-bouche, a 125ml serving of white Rioja was poured followed by a starter of Beetroot Carpaccio. Thirty minutes later a dribble of red wine was served. When we requested fresh glasses, we were instructed to use the ones previously used for the white Rioja. The main course consisted of Duck, red cabbage, spinach and jus. All needed seasoning. The pièce de résistance was a cold draught and cigarette smoke emanating from the stairs. Dessert wine was then served in prosecco glasses. A main course fork for dessert. Cutlery was replaced still wet, giving the impression of just having been washed. A three-hour affair which was highly notable due to an ill-timed food and wine pairing. While the presentation was amateurish which I could largely forgive, the lack of seasoning was particularly disappointing given Harvey's emphasis on French flavours and price point.
Disappointing. My friend and I decided to try Harvey’s on a Friday morning for breakfast. We had never been before but thought it looked so lovely we must try. It was around 10.30am and we were the only customers in the restaurant, which was fine by us. There isn’t a particular breakfast menu, it’s stated as Brunch and is limited to croque-monsieur and eggs Benedict. As I did not like any of the options available on the limited menu, I asked if the chef would mind doing an omelette for me which I didn’t think was too much of a stretch. Still bearing in mind we are the only people in the restaurant and there are eggs on the menu…. The lovely waitress went away to ask Chef but apparently he did not have the correct pan for this request and it wasn’t on the menu. Oh dear. Sounds like Chef couldn’t be bothered. Needless to say we left, wont return and would not recommend. Had a lovely breakfast elsewhere.
Very disappointing lunch. The salmon salad was extremely small with very little salmon and the gratin vegetables were swimming in water! No cutlery was brought with the soup and when I asked for a spoon, 2 were brought! The souffle was very stodgy and not light as a souffle should be. Overall a bitterly disappointing experience for my group.
