This place was great! Super cozy and friendly. Staff was quick and courteous, too! Food was tasty and hot and spicy and fruity and all of the things you'd expect from a great Thai restaurant. I will definitely be going back!
The Best Place for Authentic but more importantly, just Great Food, made with even Greater Care! This place uses the freshest ingredients and prepares every meal, like you’re visiting the owner’s home. Try the Drunken Noodles but if that’s not your Spicy Thing, be confident you can try everything else and you’ll be amazed!
Food is really delicious! I love that most dishes have a vegetarian option. I had the wok basil tofu. The tofu had great flavor and texture, which is not easy to do. It was spicy and actually had heat. The flavor of thai basil was fresh and strong. The spring rolls were crunchy. Herbed coconut rice was pretty good too. Very pleased to discover this place. High quality taste from a little takeout joint. Only note is that portions are somewhat on the smaller side. But awesome flavors. Can't wait to try some more.
Lived here for 20 years and I can confidently say that this is one of the best restaurants in the area, ever. I started ordering from here during COVID and I've been hooked ever since. Every single thing I've tried has been phenomenal. The curry puffs, spring rolls, panang curry, pad see-ew, drunken noodle, and pineapple fried rice are some of my family's go to's. It always arrives neatly packaged and hot and there are always left overs. I highly recommend this place if you want to try something different. Supporting small local businesses is so important and I cannot recommend this place enough! 🇹🇭♥️
Everything was amazing from the food to the service! Would 100% recommend! Had the basil beef fried rice 10/10! Come check this place out! You won’t be disappointed!
I'll cut to the chase. My wife is Thai and she LOVED the food here very much. We ordered our meal, and it came out as soon as we finished with our salads. Very fast service. Highly recommended.
This is my number one spot when it's time for something good. Everything on the menu is perfectly crafted, no expense unspent. I have ordered here close to 30 times and have never been anything other than completely satisfied. The staff is absolutely wonderful, kind, and courteous. There is not a bad word to be said for Herbs Thai Kitchen. 12/10 for sure. Thanks for all the wonderful meals!
Amazing food and absolutely amazing staff!! This low-key thai place is fantastic!!! 10/10 service every time and the food is always delicious. Love this place
This is a seriously good Thai restaurant. My wife is Thai and a great cook. We have eaten here several times and the flavors are IMHO authentic. Can definitely recommend this place. Hope you enjoy too!
BEST Thai food I’ve had...maybe ever from an unassuming store front on 88. We ordered the Penang & Massaman curries—perfectly spiced. Dipping sauces for the app sampler were out of this world. The duck drunken noodles were AMAZING. The duck wasn’t crispy but, we did get takeout so that was expected. I’m sure the duck would have been perfectly crispy if we dined in. Flavors were complex, cohesive and fresh. Really happy to find this place!!!
Went for a Sunday late lunch, food was excellent. Great presentation, great service. Highly recommend
Incredibly good food! All very authentic and fresh and good portion sizes. Service was very good. Went for a special occasion but prices are reasonable enough to go just because. Appreciate all of the meatless options, and plenty for non veg too.
The staff was extremely welcoming and pleasant. The portions were good for the price and the food was authentic Thai cuisine. I would highly recommend this place!
Herbs Thai Kitchen is delicious!!!! I love this place!!! The food is so fresh, healthy, full of flavor and they will customize any order. It's family owned and they get your order out quickly. They have been very consistent over the years. A wonderful little Thai restaurant!
Excellent service! I have never eaten authentic Thai food before and the waitress was so patient and kind explaining almost everything on the menu. I ordered the pineapple curry which was amazing! Their steamed dumplings was absolutely delicious as well! If you love authentic Thai food, this is definitely a hidden gem!
Food is off the charts amazing. Incredible flavor, and they will dial in the spiciness exactly to your liking. Great staff, always friendly. Try the Drunken Noodles. Oh my goodness! Other favorites: Jungle curry fried rice, curry puffs, spicy basil fried rice, yellow curry, all outstanding.
The food is the best in Ocean County. Service is always top notch. They always make my children feel special with their own little kid trays and fork/spoon. I would higly recommend to anyone at anytime we speak about great food.
My husband and I both tried an appetizer and we had the Wok dish with shrimp in a peanut sauce, with Jasmine rice. I got mild and it wakes up the senses, my spouse went for the next level up, he struggled a little. There are two more levels beyond that. I cleaned my bowl, it was exquisite! I will definitely go back here. Looking forward to trying some other menu items.
Stopped for lunch and first time there! Wow wow wow!! Delicious food is an understatement! My niece and I loved it and got take out at lunch FOR DINNER❤️ A Must go! Take 20 friends reserve the big table and byob with amazing food
We just moved to area and love Thai food. Herbs had friendly and quick service. Very large variety on menu. The actual chef brought our food out to us and really cared that we absolutely loved it! Our new favorite restaurant
Tried this restaurant for the first time and it was wonderful! We sat at a table, though seems they had more take out orders than dine in. The staff & chef were very friendly, and more importantly the food was delicious. We both ordered the drunken noodles- which came out very quickly. Will definitely be visiting again and trying some of the other dishes.
Went with my mom one afternoon for a quick bite, vegetable dumplings were amazing, my mom said the coconut milk soup taste just like one she used to get all the time when she lived in New York! Can't go wrong here, chicken pad Thai was so good and fresh! Great portions, great prices. Will be coming back definitely.
Top Notch. I finally got my mother to come here tonight after years of letting her know the food was awesome, assuring her they had duck. (She's always skeptical of places with only a few tables, I don't know what the name for that phobia is!) She will definitely be back again as will I. Delicious dishes, with fresh vegetables on everything! If you like spicy especially (I'm saying this as their are options available for everyone), I recommend this place heavily!
I really enjoy their food. I love their Basil Fried Rice, Massaman Curry, and Drunken Noodles. It is well executed and super tasty. I love that they will make extremely spicy dishes for their customers. Good value, especially for lunch specials.
Fantastic local Thai place! They can make a lot gluten free and they do a really great job.
This place is an extraordinary gem hidden in suburban NJ. It makes me feel the closest to the food experience being overseas in Thailand. Super fresh. Immense Thai hospitality and friendliness. Dialed consistency. The family who runs this place could not be more amazing and we simply love their food. We eat in maybe two places in all of ocean county and this is one of them. It has been in our rotation for years and renders the other Thai food in the area basically null and void. (Good tip: They are also extremely accommodating for vegetarians and vegans)
Very good experience. I've been several times. My go-to is the Drunken Noodles with Chicken. Good portion size, great flavor, and just the right amount of heat. The little pre-game salad is fresh and delicious, and the pre-chilled water delivered to your table upon arrival is a nice touch. Definitely recommended.
My wife and I are vegetarian. And this place offers great vegetarian options. The appetizer, entrees and dessert were all excellent!
This is real authentic Thai, with real Thai spices. Service was very friendly and welcoming. The food is phenomenal and they will adjust the spice level to your comfort. The Pad Thai, Drunkin Noodle and Curry plates are excellent, but so is the rest of the food. It is a small place, but we'll worth it if you crave real Thai food. And the owners/workers couldn't be nicer.
I took my grandma here for her birthday to try Pad Thai for the first time. What a great experience!! I am glad this was her first impression for this type of food. The food was excellent, would recommend the Chive Dumplings! You can tell that the owner is passionate about the food and knew what he was talking about. Atmosphere was welcoming and staff was super nice and courteous. This is definitely a hole in the wall restaurant that I will gladly eat here again.
What an amazing hidden Gem. The food is just as outstanding as the service! Always an out of this world dish, with above and beyond customer service. Best Thai food in Monmouth and Ocean county, hands down.
Wow! Their food is soooo good! I tried it for the first time a few nights ago and I have ordered something every night for the past 3 nights! I will definitely be a frequent customer! Everything I have tried so far is top notch!
Very good!!!texture of the meat and everything else so good.tasted great
This place has great food! My husband and I have only had a few things from here, and each one has been delicious. We love the Peanut and Panang curry. I really enjoy the Curry puffs and the vegetarian dumplings. It's a good amount of food for a reasonable price, and you can tell they love what they are doing. We will continue to order from them and give updated reviews on what we've tried and how we like it. (We've only had delivery from here, and it has gotten here in a fair amount of time). It's nice to order something different to the usual takeout (Italian or American food) Thank you Herbs Thai for the tasty food!
Haven't had Thai food in a few years. This place exceeded my expectations. At my table we all ordered different dishes and sampled around, also the curry puff appetizer is superb. Also, they have excellent Tom yum.
I really liked this place...I live in Middletown, and was down a little south and needed a place to pick up food. Saw the good reviews and even though my area has really good Thai food, this place was too tempting. A quick detour off the parkway and waited, at most 15 minutes for our food. The curry puffs were delicious, ordered the pineapple curry, green curry and Pad-Thai which were all home-runs, except for the Pad-Thai which was a triple (I'm finicky and like the thinner noodle). Just a heads up, even though some of the dishes are listed as not being "hot", they can be spicy with a slight zing. Will come back (guaranteed) whenever I'm in the area. Just wanted to add that the staff was incredibly friendly as well.
The food is exceptional. I've had Thai before and in the surrounding area, herb Thai is consistently one of the best Thai places I've ever had. I like my food spicy and they know exactly the levels. I think the best time to go here will be in the upcoming winter time. It'll truly open up your pores and breath new life into you. The staff was also very helpful, they understood I was with an infant and they told me to wait in the car and they would bring it out to me. It was very considerate of them.
I absolutely adore this place! My boyfriend and I have been eating here for the past two years - Almost every week lol. This place is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is super cozy and welcoming. Everyone who works there is extremely friendly. Jay is the sweetest guy, we love him!! He always makes us feel so comfortable and is always willing to go the extra mile to make sure we have a great experience whether it’s take out or dining there! The food is incredible every time. My boyfriend gets Massaman Curry and I get the Wok Basil, we always share the chicken satay too! This is our favorite place to eat!🤍🤍🤍🤍
Amazing food - highly recommend pad Thai, drunken noodles, Thai iced tea, and Taro ice cream. Well priced. Great and friendly service. Been here several times and planning to return many more times.
This is the best Thai food in the area!!! I’ve only ever had their food to go but I order about once every two weeks and the staff is great. Their noodle dishes are incredible! I highly recommended their appetizer sampler because you get an awesome variety of super tasty apps. Their pad thai and curry puffs are my go to order, so delicious. Love love love this place 🤩
This is small place off the highway, but a true gem! The food and service was absolutely amazing! We tried the curry puffs as an appetizer and they were light, flaky but filled with so much flavor. For the meal we had the chicken in peanut sauce, served with veggies and coconut rice. It was so delicious and had just the right amount of spice where you could still enjoy every flavor without being overwhelmed with spice. I also wanted to take another order of the curry puffs to go but I controlled myself lol. We are so glad we stopped in for lunch. Can't wait to return!!!!
I've been going here since they first opened. Owners are so sweet! The food is amazing! Honestly, it is the best Thai food in the area. Ambience isn't the best for in dining with a constant stream of take out orders, but the lovely staff make up for it. My favorites are Pad Thai w vegetables, Vegetable Wok Medley with faux duck and curry noodle.
So happy I found this Thai restaurant! Amazing food, great service, and free ice cream from the owner 🍦🇹🇭 Love it!
Really love the spicy pad thai here, the mango sticky rice was also good!
Their Duck Red Curry is one of my favorite meals I’ve ever had, and their flat noodles, such as in the drunken noodle entree, are made from scratch and are delicious.
Herbs Thai Kitchen is a true culinary treasure! From the moment you walk in, you’re enveloped in the rich aromas of authentic Thai spices and herbs. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for both a casual meal and a special night out. The food is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish bursts with vibrant flavors, from the perfectly balanced Pad Thai to the rich, creamy curries that are simply to die for. The freshness of the ingredients really shines through, and you can tell everything is made with care and attention to detail. The service is exceptional, friendly, prompt, and always with a smile. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and happy to offer recommendations if you’re not sure what to try. Whether you're a fan of Thai cuisine or trying it for the first time, Herbs Thai Kitchen will exceed your expectations. It’s easily the best Thai food I’ve had in a long time. Five stars all the way!
My family and I had a fantastic experience at Herbs Thai Kitchen. Don't let the strip mall fool you. This Thai restaurant not only contains incredible Thai food but also amazing people to help serve it. My family of nine entered this quaint little restaurant fully knowing that our large group isn't always easy to accommodate, especially when it includes an infant and a toddler. The staff accommodated all of our needs and did so with a smile. The way they treated us somehow made the food taste even better. We could tell that these people actually care about serving great food and making their customers happy. Some highlights: Spring rolls, steamed chicken dumplings, fried chive dumplings, pad thai, and duck drunken noodles. We will definitely be back.
We have eaten here five times now and all the food has been excellent. Their papaya salad is one of the best we’ve tasted. The large menu is reasonably priced and portions are large. The staff is extremely warm and efficient. Three booths and table seating for about 16 make a quiet experience. We look forward to our next visit. We travel half an hour to get here - it’s worth the trip!!
This place makes amazing Thai food. I had the Drunken Noodles, and they were perfect with really deep aromatics. Very few restaurants get food this right.
If you love Thai food and want authentic then this is the place. Small store front but excellent. Service is fast and friendly and the food is unbelievable. Some dishes can be spicy, but they will adjust the heat level. We like it very spicy and they did not disappoint. I can't say enough about this place. Thai food extraordinaire. It is a smaller place, but very accommodating.
Really good spot with classic Thai fare. We enjoyed the seafood fried rice, red curry, and wok peanut sauce. All were fantastic and would definitely come back
This place has the best Thai food that we've had in the area! Always fresh and delicious, great fast friendly service, and a good price point for how good it is. It's usually quiet inside, we've never had to wait. Would definitely recommend the kurry puff (pictured below). Great find!
I love it here I've been coming for years the food is always fresh and full of flavor with good fast service. I've tried many appetizers and entrées, as well as desserts a few favorite of mine are curry puffs with the dipping sauce (ask for extra it's so good) satays are also delicious. For an entrees pad see-ew (mine and my boyfriend favorite) drunken noodle, panang curry, mussaman curry and wok basil. I also highly recommend mango sticky rice or the fried banana with caramel sauce for something sweet after dinner. I also love getting food to go from here to enjoy at home.
Don't be fooled by the exterior appearance of where this little restaurant is located. The place itself it's not by any means an upscale experience BUT we compromised and it paid off. The food is made with fresh ingredients by the owner himself. Everything from the appetizers, main course and dessert was flavorful and packed an exquisite blast to your taste buds. Each person in our group ordered a different dish and they all were spot on including two different duck dishes, appetizer sampler, tofu, pad thai, chicken thai rice and fried ice cream).
It's one of those places I want to tell people about but wanna keep all to myself at the same time. Let me not be selfish. So happy we decided to finally try! We came in the last 1.5 hour and they were going to stop taking dine in, they allowed us to sit anyway. The owner and team were so nice! Food. Was. Amazing. It's the next day, I finished my leftovers earlier and I'm pretty sure I'm going to order from takeout tonight. That good. I got scallion dumplings, and green curry. That curry ?! Wow. Thai tea with coconut milk instead of dairy. 🤤🤤🤤🤤 My man got shrimp rolls and seafood fried rice he was so happy. This is a very much hidden lil gem
Very yummy Thai food! My brother and I went to Thailand in 2019 and we were looking to re experience some of the delicious quinine. My mom had never had Thai food. So we came to herbs! We ate in, which was nice and quiet. I think most people order out. I had the TomKa soup and Pad Seew. We all had Iced thai tea. And the sampler appetizer! All so good! I traveled around a good portion of Asia and Thai food was always the best. It’s good to know I can find good quality thai right in my neighborhood !
The Herbs Thai Kitchen is a peaceful, quiet spot serving tasty, authentic cuisine, and the staff was extremely helpful in accommodating my dietary needs. A true gem!
The food here is really delicious. Curry puffs and wings are amazing. All of the dishes are really tastey, from the pineapple curry, to the peanut chicken, and the vegetables medley....it's all pretty good, slightly pricey, but I haven't been disappointed with food!
Food is always good and fresh, and great service- Take out and dine in. Every time we go in there is always a new update to the restaurant (new paint/lighting/tables) so they are steadily making improvements which is great to see. Only recommendation is work on the bathroom access. Patrons should not walk through/by kitchen.
The curry puffs were outstanding. The Thai Pad See Ew with pork was absolutely delicious. I wasn’t a fan a of the chicken wings. For $10 for 5 wings, I expected more of a Thai flavor .I will definitely frequent this restaurant again.
My first visit and I got take out just to try it. The food was great. Best Thai food in the area. The Panang Curry was so good I ended up eating the leftover Curry sauce like a soup. The people were friendly and smiling. Prices are fair though I thought the portions were a little on the small side for the price. I will go back and I will recommend it.
Definitely the best Thai food I have tried so far in NJ. The chicken in ginger sauce was delicious but the eggplant, broccoli and tofu dish was outstanding. Service was slightly slow due to the fact that the only server for the restaurant also answering phones and running the takeout counter as well as serving a full dining room. She was really busting her butt though and somehow made it work. The decor was simple and clean. The most "hole in the wall" thing about this place is having to walk through the actual kitchen to get to the restroom! Overall it was a good experience and I shall return.
My neighbor recommended this place to me since I love trying new establishments. My boyfriend and I loved the food. We were the only ones present at the time but that was ok with us, we didn't have to hear other's conversation. When food arrived it was not only tasty but it was hot (temperature) meaning food was just prepared and not sitting. I want to try everything on the menu. Prices were very reasonable. Herbs Thai will definitely see us again. Only issue, they don't have that many choices of beverages. It's either, soda, coconut water, or water and I drink neither. So I was forced to drink soda, since choices were very limited. Otherwise, great job guys
Tastes like Thai to me! I eat Thai pretty regularly but I am no expert. I have dined in and taken home both with very good service experience. I had the yellow curry chicken and chicken pad Thai. Both tasted just as I have come to expect Thai food and I enjoyed it each time.
Jungle curry shrimp fried rice was spicy and delicious. I loved it !
Someone had complained about the ceiling tiles in one review, but as you can see, these are all new. The place was clean and neatly decorated. Great atmosphere with soothing piano/string instrument music. It is small, and you do hear what anyone says, but that's fine. We were there second couple to come in, and while we were sitting there, a third came in. This was Saturday afternoon, definitely passed the lunch hour. She brought over a pitcher of water and glasses were on the table. I ordered the sampler appetizer, asked what each was and she explained: spring rolls, Curry puffs, open dumplings, and taro cake. Each was delicious. My husband got one of the pork special appetizers, which he said was great. I ordered chicken pad Thai, and he got some sort of crying tiger? beef with veggies. (I stole his veggies onto my plate.). Pad Thai was just what I expected, and the veggies were really lightly steamed. The crying tiger meat was nice and rare, like he ordered. We finished with taro custard and green tea creme brulee (flavors change daily apparently). Both came out in little aluminum cups topped with whipped cream. The taro custard was not sweet but nice textured. The green tea creme brulee had some burnt sugar on top but was nice flavor and texture other wise. My father's advice comes to me: order what the restaurant is known for. So the fact that a French dessert didn't come out perfectly at a Thai place is *shrug* Really nice experience overall.
Excellent Thai food. The menu is a little sparse, and sometimes maybe not what I'm expecting. But the 3-5 things we order often from there are always good. The curry dishes sometimes lack much differentiation between them. I appreciate that they listen to ingredient concerns. I like the green curry and the app sampler. The curry puffs are great unless they are soggy. Charging for tiny cups of sauce is annoying. But a solid option if you have some money to spend. Chicken satay is dry and cooked to death fyi.
Had lunch off to lunch special excellent flavor excellent service the inside is quite nice. I wish I could remember our servers name. She was really very wonderful, but this is definitely worth giving a shot. The only thing stopping them from getting a five star is the quantity even for lunch special is a little small I get Thai food and other places and they give you soup and an egg roll Along with it. Also had the green papaya salad it was fantastic.
Late review: This place is a must take out!!! FIRST EXPERIENCE •two orders of curry puffs (yes, you need to order 2 or more orders) 1. Because they are bussin, they are filled with curry powdered meat, and the sauce it comes with is soooooo good! 2. Because only a few come per order, I believe 3 or 4. I ate both orders 🤭and tried to save one for my husband, but he was away, so I figured welp 🤷🏾♀️maybe next time😅🤫 •Green curry with shrimp was okay something seemed to be missing. I dont know if it's because I dont have green curry often, but ehh, otherwise, everything about the meal was great. SECOND EXPERIENCE We ordered •Thai wings 😋 which were really good. It's the best when wings are spicy and sweet! •Curry Puffs, my favorite things on the menu, they should definitely consider making it a meal😉 •Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken, I ordered this and let me tell you this was soooooooo good. At HTK, you are able to select your preference for spiciness. I chose medium. I probably should have gone with a little spice so I didn't have to take heat breaks😂😂 •Yellow Curry with Beef and Jasmine Rice my husband said it was reallllllllllly good he used the leftover curry sauce for his lunch until it was gone FYI : If you are worried about peanut or treenut allergies, I have both. I notfied HTK they reassured me. I'd be okay. I've eaten there twice and haven't had any allergy issues. Thank me later☺️
As someone who really enjoys Thai food I'd say this restaurant is mediocre at best. The only reason I'm giving it such a high rating is because the service was great. The soup and appetizers that I ordered were good but my meal, the chefs special grilled chicken with peanut sauce, was inedible. As much as I enjoy supporting local businesses there are much better Thai restaurants to enjoy.
I ordered Pad Thai, Curry Puffs and Egg Roll, for pick up. The Curry Puffs and Egg Rolls were very good, as previous reviewers have stated. I was extremely disappointed in the Pad Thai. It was tasteless, and the noodles were almost mushy. I hope others will have a better overall experience than I had.
Having lived in Thailand for 10 years, I have been searching for an authentic Thai restaurant for many years. I've tried them all in Monmouth County and a few in Ocean. My litmus test dish is pad kaprow gai (minced basil chicken). I finally found a restaurant that does it justice. I thought that perhaps it was difficult to get authentic ingredients, but Herbs Thai Kitchen proved me wrong. I tried the lunch special for $10 (couldn't find on their food app, so call directly) and it was 1/2 the price of my local Thai restaurants. I will be back. Update 6/1/2025 Ordered Pad See Ew Gai, today which is stir fried flat noodle with chicken and Chinese broccoli (kai lan). Not wet, but some dark and light soy and oyster sauce. Unfortunately, it was a bit dry. Needed more sauce. Also, kai lan was substituted for regular broccoli. If I go for Thai, Japanese, Korean. Indian, etc food, I expect authenticity. Also, $18 is over the top. I paid $5 in Thailand.
Very nice staff/owner and I love supporting small business. They sold authentic Thai snacks at the register which was fun. Chicken lacked flavor, Tofu was just tossed into the meal and not fried with sauce. Noodles were overcooked. Decor was lacking, dining room was cluttered and lackluster with some ceiling tiles very dirty/moldy and falling down. Extremely quiet, you didn't want to talk louder than a whisper. Overall not bad, worth a try. I'd recommend delivery.
Ordered back and September (food was fine) and a few of the dishes that were supposed to come with a protein did not. Called back and they made a note on our account to provide a credit on our next order. Annoying but understandable. Fast forward to tonight and turns out you need the nuclear codes to get the credit they "put on our account". Don't take their word for it. Dishonest. We ordered from Jasmine instead. Was delish.
The food was very good but I wasn’t happy with some things. So first they required a $20 minimum for delivery. Once I ordered it seemed high. I discovered after tipping the driver I was charged $3 delivery. So all in it’s $27 for 1 person. The wok shrimp with peanut sauce was very good but only had 4 shrimp. When I called them to express my issue the woman didn’t seem to care too much. I’m pretty dissatisfied overall.
Ordered take out a few months ago. Was shocked at how much our total ended up being for just two people, and then sadly disappointed that it didn't taste good at all. I ordered the pad thai and when i opened up my dish, my first thought was that it smelled like a dirty pet store. I couldn't get over it. The lime didn't cover the smell/taste enough. I'm usually able to eat a meal even if it's not my favorite thing ever, but I genuinely couldn't even eat this and it ended up in the garbage. Just felt like a waste.
I ordered delivery which was very quick. Food was still hot. The chicken pad Thai was a generous serving, the taste not so great. None of the sweet, tangy, spicy that you would expect from pad Thai, all I could taste was fish sauce.
I have been wanting a good Thai place close to my house, praying almost, and when I heard Herbs Thai was opening up i couldn't believe my luck, but sadly it has not lived up to my expectations. For the prices they charge I expect a good meal and I have yet to have one despite several attempts. My most recent endeavor was the Pad Thai with chicken, seems simple enough. I am used to a bit of fish sauce but this was so overloaded I could barely take a few bites. I even confirmed with my girlfriend to make sure I wasn't crazy and she agreed. Very poor food in my opinion I'd rather go to Thai Jasmin right up the road
This place is honestly disgusting I was so excited because I love Thai food and when I tried the red curry it was nothing but coconut milk. Only tasted like coconut. Wasn’t even appetizing it was horrible! When I told them I did not like it the guy in the back came up to me and started yelling at me asking me what was wrong with it and when I would try to explain he would scream back “there’s nothing wrong with it” I was treated horribly at this establishment and I recommend that people don’t come here!!!
Super excited to try this place because of reviews and it’s was just not good, and I really wanted it to be good. We ordered seafood dishes and scallops were undercooked and there was just no marrying of flavors in the dishes, just ingredients thrown together if you will. Thai tea was pure sugar, appetizer sampler MEH Not worth the price, this will put me off Thai dining for a while
Horrible customer service! The man in the back came storming out because my teen daughter tried the curry for the first time and didn’t like it. He came out shouting nothing was wrong with it told us to pay and leave! Somebody’s ego was seriously hurt. Don’t ask if we wanted anything else or didn’t care that it wasn’t appetizing to us. Simply kept shouting “there’s nothing wrong with it” I have never experienced such disgusting service! Beware if you’re not happy with the meal you will be shouted at and told to never return
I ordered the red snapper. Very disappointed. The photo was misleading. The fish was dried out. Not tasty at all. It's fried (baked or grilled is healthier based on my research). Then the red curry did nothing to help. My honest opinion is ----- they do not know how to cook this dish. Because I work long hours, for years I have eaten out quite a bit. (Almost every other day) I do not remember leaving a negative review. But this was the worst!!! A TOTAL waste of my money. They have a nerve to charge around $57 for the fish. I should be paid for the damages and how their poor cooking skills ruined my dinner!!! And I love fish. In my opinion, the food at Maramara Mediterranean in Freehold is better (which makes a delicious branzino).
Worst Pad Thai I've ever eaten. Absolutely inedible! Smelled like farm animals. I never leave reviews but felt I needed to say this. I literally spit it out. My mother enjoyed her curry and the appetizers were ok. Otherwise, never ordering from Herb's Thai Kitchen again.
The item i ordered on their menu vs the 4 slices of duck it came with. Complete ripoff for the price point. They also charged $10 more than it should have cost based on their website prices, apparently they changed their prices but only in their online ordering section, but we ordered over the phone.
