Great breakfast. Decent prices, quick service and friendly faces!! This is a regular breakfast stop for us. Seems to be mostly locals in there for breakfast.
Very friendly and hospitable. Food is excellent, well prepared, and well worth the value. Bridgeport Family Restaurant, thank you for your service! It is very much appreciated!
Excellent place for breakfast. The service was very fast. The portions were large and tasty and the prices were great!
Food and service was amazing felt right at home. Comfortable atmosphere, polite manored waiters, and the veal parm was done just the way I like it. Overall 5 stars in my book.
LOVED my breakfast here! Sausage was excellent and not overcooked. My server, Violeta, was a bright ray of sunshine!
First time here and Bob welcomed us and was so kind . Recommended the 2x2x2 it was delicious . Pancakes were very tasty. Service was awesome . Definitely be back
This place in my opinion the very best place to eat at. They have excellent prices, wonderful food and employees that make you feel like family.
Classic little diner. We went for breakfast and everything was fantastic. I had a breakfast sandwich and a side of bacon. Bacon was perfectly crispy and the sandwich was buttery. Hit the spot!
Was in town, on a business trip, for two days. Had breakfast here both mornings. Food was good and the service was great! Will come back on my next trip.
Great food and friendly service, staff is very accommodating and prices are great! Visited from out of town and beyond pleased with our selection!
My 89 year old dad always looks forward to "Breakfast at Bridgeport" with his favorite waitress Chelsea. The food is always good and the service is even better. My only suggestion for improvement would be to somehow improve the acoustics. When it's crowded or staff is moving tables for large groups, the noise requires customers to nearly shout to hear each other. Maybe a drop ceiling or carpeting would help.
The friendly staff and the quality and tastiness of the fare set this restaurant apart in Bridgeport. We enjoyed a great lunch here. The Reuben sandwich was very good!
Good breakfast at good prices. Moderately crowded on a Sunday morning, but we did not have to wait for a table. The food was served fairly quickly. The waitress checked on us often.
I’ve always gone here growing up with my dad. Now I bring my family in and we’re always satisfied. They never disappoint. Super fast service.
Always a great experience with nothing but perfectly cooked & served food! Whether dining in or carrying out this little nook is my favorite place to have breakfast! Ive not been here for any other meals but breakfast howvever i do believe there'd be no disappointments!
I've been going here for 3 years and always excellent service and food. Best around!
Food was really good, people were really good, can't wait to go back!
Food was delicious. Portion size was perfect. Waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Could not have asked for a more pleasant experience.
I've always loved this restaurant, very lovely owners and courteous staff your treated at the door ,no matter if the staff is doing other things someone always looks up to welcome you.Youll see owner Elaina walking around to greet customers or very hard at work cooking, and the food is awesome,my favorite is turkey club no mayo, and their crab cake sandwich, don't get me started on their chicken and waffles,my family has gone to Bridgeport for a number of years, and still do,My two eldest sons and nephew in law are employed their for several years,So if your in the mood for a home cooked meal friendly, like your with family at a holiday meal try to stop in you'll love it ..... with love.
The best place to breakfast and share with families thanks to those waitress and even the cook to feel really comfortable
Good prices and good food, which was served quickly. Friendly waitress who kept the coffee coming! We will be back!!
Great little diner. Food was great, inexpensive, and the people were super nice. I would go again!
We had lunch and the food and service was fantastic! It was my birthday and the waitress brought out and apple danish, warmed with a candle and sang happy birthday. Its was very touching!
I love this local business. The wait staff is friendly and food is good. This one of those places I've always dreamt of coming daily when I'm in my golden years! And many of the regulars clearly agree!
Visiting PA from DMV area. This place is great. My family was looking for a diner that had fried potatoes and I found this place. Everything was good. I had pancakes eggs and sausage. The pancakes were so fluffy. You almost didn't need any syrup. My sisters had omelets whch was good and scrabble. Now when I say fresh, that was the scrabble. You can smell the freshness. Best scrapple we ever tasted. My mom had the fried potatoes and eggs. She said it was very good even though it was cooked together.(something she did t realize when she ordered that particular meal). The prices were reasonable. $55 for 4 people and we had plenty of food. I highly recommend this place. We plan to come back here the next time we visit Lancaster, pa
Very yummy food!!! I often say "I could make that better" but not this morning. Thanks to the cook who made perfect drippy eggs, and creamy french toast! Yum!! And the "Ultimate Mix" was good but will ask for extra added cheese next time.
The staff have always been friendly here and provide consistent service. The breakfast is always hot with good coffee. Good food and affordable prices is a winning combination for this place.
Considering the virus situation, I felt very safe eating there. Nothing is left on the table, and the staff all wear masks. They bring just the condiments that are needed. The food is very hot, and tasty. The food is not fancy, but is comfort food. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant, if you want good food, not fancy food.
The waitresses are very friendly. The restaurant is large but not crowded or noisy. The prices are very reasonable. THE FOOD - which is freshly prepared-is awesome. I highly recommend the breakfast specials which include their home fried potatoes (Yum!)
This is the place the locals don't want you to know about! Fantastic diner style food. Incredibly fast and friendly service. My server Violeta was the most wonderful human being - she was attentive and engaging,.
Went there for breakfast. Service was friendly and quick. Portions we're good. Nice place to eat
Fantastic service from their wait staff! Delicious breakfast choices! Try the "scramble"(I think that's what it's called!), a HUGE platter of mixed up scrambled eggs, home fries, onions, ham, and tomato. Enough for 2 hearty appetites. Their omelets are overly generous, too, and equally loaded with veggies, cheese, etc, or just plain. Coffee always being refilled from attentive server. Could not ask for more! Come hungry!
The food is excellent as well as the service and all the employees. They treat you like family. Bridgeport restaurant reopened today after being closed for a while due to a fire. The food as always is excellent. The staff is super friendly and efficient. Best restaurant by far in Lancaster County!
Great, simple food! The service is worth more than you actually pay and the locals are super nice. Would definitely go if just stopping through or on a regular basis.
My family and myself have been going here for breakfast every Sunday for the last 8 years. Best food and service also you can not beat the price. Family friendly environment.
Had a spanish omelot, best anywhere. We also had an oatmeal with blueberries. Yummy but a small portion. Good for my 3 year old son. He ate it all up. Had the mickey mouse pancake with blueberries. They served it with log cabin syrup which i appreciate bec it had no high fructose corn syrup. Coffee was unlimited. It was good just a bit watered down for my liking. Overall a really nkce environment, really nice service, and other patrons were incredibly friendly. Would def go again.
Quality food at a very good price. Service is fast and courteous. Homemade soups are definitely worth trying. When I am in Lancaster on business it is a reliable stop for a quick bite.
They're a little slow when they're busy, but they are attentive and happy, and you feel good being there, so you don't mind the wait. Not to mention, the food is very much worth the wait!
We were there for the first time and it was really good and prices were great, staff was very friendly too. Definitely making this one of our spots!
Breakfast is exactly what you would expect from a small family diner. Service is quite pleasant! A perfect spot for a morning breakfast meeting. I met a colleague here for an 8:30a-9:30a breakfast meeting. The meeting, unexpectedly, ran until 11:30a. The wait staff happily kept our coffee and water cups full until we wrapped up!
We stated the country living inn and it was recommended To us by the desk clerk. The first day my eyes were bigger than my stomach and the second day I got less. Both days the food was excellent and the service was great.
This place is fantastic. I've been coming here for a long time. The breakfast is your usual diner fare, but it's not greasy or overdone. The waitstaff is super friendly and will always greet you with a smile. The lunch and dinner menus are great too. Not too much of a portion nor too little. The fries are crispy and served hot. The bread is never stale and while the rest of the ingredients are always served fresh. The place is always clean and well cared for. You might wait a little longer for your meal, but it's worth it because you're not going to get something that was made ahead of time. I highly recommend this family style restaurant for its value, friendliness and food quality. Of all the diners I have reviewed, this is by far its my favorite.
Went here twice! Once for lunch with my Fiance when we were looking into wedding venues and again for Breakfast the morning after our wedding with our friends and family. VERY friendly staff and a great wholesome vibe to go along with it. Food was super tasty and excellent in quality, price and amount ! :) I would definitely recommend this place to anyone thinking of a diner breakfast after an event in Lancaster. I will definitely be back when I stay in that area again!
We absolutely loved it here! We had never been here but found it by doing a search of places that were open for breakfast on Sunday. It was only 5 minutes from our hotel. The service and food were amazing (my son is still raving about his ham & cheese omelette) and I loved the homefries :) Our waitress was so nice and so was the gentleman at the counter. We will definitely return on our next visit to the area. Thank you!
Came up to visit hershey park. Stopped here for breakfast before hitting the road. Our family of 5 visited this morning and we had the best experience. We're from Southern NJ and absolutely adored our host, waitress and the other guests. Everyone was so friendly. Aside from the personal interactions with staff and guests, our food we had was AMAZING! The best breakfast we've ever had. Thank you Bridgeport Family restaurant. We Loved it! Side note: our twins were greeted with a fellow twin host and a twin dad guest. It's always an added bonus when conversations start on personal levels.
Great customer service. We had a young lady as our server and she was awesome. I’m sorry o don’t remember her name but she made the experience exceptional. The food was really good especially for the cost.
We love this homey spot! Great service and they really get to know you which is a special touch!
Great prices,Great food, very good coffee, and service with a smile. What more can I say.
We enjoyed their broad breakfast menu. The sausage gravy and hashbrowns were delicious. Our server kept the coffee topped off. Neat, clean and welcoming to an out of state visitor. Highly recommended!
Cute family diner, friendly staff, fair prices, quality food. What more do you want from a diner? WiFi password: food1655 (poster to the right of the register if it changes) I went here with my son, and we both loved our meals. The $4 kids meal is an excellent value. It includes a micky mouse pancake (fills a 9" plate to the edges), two strips of bacon and an egg. I got the Greek omelet and it was well prepared and came with a reasonable amount of potatoes and two slices of toast. We did wait 5 minutes or so in the beginning before anyone noticed we were there, but they were pretty busy, and the friendliness of the staff more than made up for it. As we were leaving a waitress came up to my son and gave him a plastic cup and a quarter to get some candy out of the machine in the lobby. Great family atmosphere. Forgot to take a picture when the food rolled out...but at least you know a 3 year old loved it. He never clears a plate like that.
Stopped in for the first time at the wonderful Bridgeport Family Restaurant (for breakfast). I thought everything about this restaurant was exceptional! Variety of selection was above average. Lighting and cleanliness was superior to other diners in the Lancaster area. The wait staff (Emma & Kate) were both exceptional, and I’ll definitely be a return customer…, our new ‘happy place’ for breakfast.
Diner vibe with good food and great service each time we visited. Staff are conscientious and attentive. Meals are very reasonably priced. Plenty of seating.
Beautiful diner, service was fantastic. Really love the new owners! Would recommend to everyone I know.
passing through the area on our way back home my husband and I stopped at this lovely little restaurant. from the outside it doesn't look like much, but once inside it's a very roomy, friendly atmosphere. A place where everyone knows everyone and you just don't see that often anymore. our waitress was super nice, and the food was very in expensive and very good. we will definitely be back 10/10
This restaurant goes waayyyyyy above and beyond! I stopped to eat here for a late breakfast and right as my meal was being delvivered, I started feeling faint. I could tell I was going to pass out so I told the waitress to call 911, which she promptly did. I then passed out and fell out of the booth with a thud flat on my face. When I came to a minute later, one of the workers, an elderly gentleman close to my age, was holding a cold compress on my head and telling me the paramedics were on their way. I started feeling better almost immediately. Turns out it was low blood sugar. The paramedics came and checked me out and I ate some of my meal. The owner and staff treated me like a family member from the moment I walked in. The owner even heated up my plate of food after the paramedics left. They simply couldn't do enough to help. Oh, and the food? I search places like this out when I'm on the road. This was truly good old-fashioned home cooking. Great food--and huge servings--with top-notch service. I can't recommend this place enough, not just for the great and tasty food but for the owner and staff who truly provide 5-star service--again, above and beyond! Kudos to you folks!!!!
Wonderful Foo d and Service and Clean
Great place to eat, staff are always nice and friendly.
The waitress was awesome, the food country home, peaceful home like diner ♥️ away from the crazy people
Good, plain food, nothing fancy. Good prices. Friendly staff. Appears popular w/ "old timers". The extra $1 for the side salad was worth it it was huge.
It wasn't very busy but we waited awhile for a waitress to come. After that we found 2ants crawling across our table. Her service was good on refills.
Really like this place as a family restaurant. We eat there for breakfast (always good) and their grilled chicken salad at lunch is one of the best I have had. They always have delicious homemade soups. Just sad they are no longer open for dinner. Try them out!
Met up with a friend for breakfast here. Loved the pancakes and I'm not even a pancake person. And I love that they still do actual home fries and not deep fried potatoes.
Great little place with good food and a decent price. The only negative I have to mention is that it's loud in there. Everything echoes in there. Nice little place though.
Had breakfast here, the potatoes could have been done a lot more.
The service was good and breakfast was good.
Was a really nice little diner... I hate to complain but there was something odd about the waffle and strawberries. My son on the other hand devoured his Micky mouse pancake!
Great little place (larger than you think though) for breakfast!! Only complaint is their homefries. It must be a certain cook because sometimes they are basically just potatoes. I prefer the days when they are hashed browns.
Very nice meal, parking was not the greatest but it was a Saturday morning. I had the 2 egg western omelette with cheese that came with home fries and toast, I could not eat the home fries and toast because I am on the Atkins Diet but gave them to my GF that night when I got back home in NY 10hrs. later and she reheated them and said they were very good. Staff was polite though busy. I would go there again but would make that a 6 egg Western Omelette with cheese, 2 eggs were not enough for me.
Great little dive with good food and great prices. They have great service even during the morning rush.
Nice little place for breakfast. Got the chipped beef on potatoes. The food was good but not enough meat in my opinion. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I really like small local eateries like this and visit them whenever I pass through.
I'm torn with this review. The food was good. The price was right. They have your typical diner faire. Wait staff was nice. While the building is unassuming and easily passed if you're not looking for it, the environment was what you'd expect, and, really, love about a true small-town greasy spoon diner. My biggest issue was the wait for the food. It took 35 minutes to serve the food in the pic (Mickey pancakes and hash browns... what they called home fries...for my kiddo and a heart attack on a plate for me... sunny side up eggs, sausage, toast and hash browns). In their defense, they were busy. But I've been to busier diners that got the same amount and quality of food on our table in 10 minutes. So, if you go to the Bridgeport, which I recommend, go in knowing you'll be fed well for a great price. But, also go in being prepared to wait a little for your meal. If you're patient, you'll be pleasantly surprised. If you're impatient, they sell newspapers outside the building. Like a lot of regulars do, you might want to grab one to read while waiting. Or, you might want to look elsewhere. For a lover of diners and breakfast food like myself, it was worth the wait.
Pretty good restaurant with a solid selection of classic breakfast fare. Prices are about average, maybe slightly on the higher side, but the food and experience make it worthwhile. I’d definitely stop by again next time I’m in the area and looking for a good breakfast.
I went on a Saturday morning not knowing it was the busy time for the restaurant but is was worth every minute I was there for a great breakfast. I sat at the diner style bar and ordered a veggie omelet and French toast. It took about 15 minutes to get my food but it was worth the wait. The home fries were cooked perfectly and the omelet was great. The service was awesome, as my coffee cup and iced tea were never empty. I really enjoyed this place, and if I am back in the area, I will be back!
Food was average. Some was hot, the rest was just warm. The coffee was only warm. On a high note, our server was smiling, friendly and very attentive.
Food was good, service very fast for our table of 12, very impressed about that. The waitress however didn't handle our large group well. She couldn't figure out cash and card for payment, she couldn't figure out how to split the bill, she kept shorting us straws and drinks for which we had to ask for more several times, and she got a little snippy with us, she seemed a bit frustrated with our group until we were about done. There was no offer for drink refills, we had to set the table up ourselves, and our group was given two menus, not even one per adult and they have no kids menus or crayons for the record... If they do, we weren't given any. I think if you're a large group looking for a nice place to sit down and eat, this is a hard pass. Smaller group, go for it.
We stopped here for breakfast on our way to a train ride. We were seated promptly, had our orders taken right away, coffee brought out… Then we sat for almost an hour. No food, our waitress disappeared; we ended up having to call the hostess over to inquire about when we would be getting our order. Almost as soon as she told us she couldn’t help us, our food was brought out. It was hot and delicious- but we were literally supposed to be leaving to get to our train ride at that EXACT time. We ended up scarfing down 2 omelettes, toast, and breakfast potatoes in about 10 minutes. We left feeling bloated and very irritated; and ultimately, ended up missing our ride. Kudos to the chef; shame on the wait staff…
The waitress was soooo nice & helpful and the prices were excellent but all the breakfast food we had was tasteless. From the pancakes to the home fries, very bland. So sorry, maybe they're just having an off day?
Breakfast was good, service was great. Our first visit since the new ownership. The table we had teetered a lot, and was very annoying. Coffee was constantly spilling. Planning on trying lunch next time. But overall a vast improvement from the previous owners. Price was very affordable as well. Coffee was strong and good, but not a high end quality, but I had 2 cups, LOL Go check it out for breakfast sometime.
This place is kinda pricey and definitely nosey. I know it's not there fault for crowds though.
Nothing special, even for a diner. I ordered scrambled eggs, French toast and bacon. The bacon was dry and brittle, the eggs were over-cooked, and the French toast came with a large bottle of Mrs. Butterworth's high fructose corn syrup. No maple syrup available. The coffee cup holds maybe 6 oz of coffee, which was about as impressive as Folger's. Was hoping for something impressive, based on some of the reviews elsewhere. Greatly disappointed.
Wanted to like this place, but were disappointed. There are better places for Breakfast in Lancaster, that are even less than a mile away. We had breakfast here. The service was spotty, even though they had staff standing in front of the soda machines. Waitress disappeared after she brought our food.
Worst waffles I’ve ever had. Servers were nice.
Food was not near as expected. It was chaos while we was there. Service was slow at best and attitude on top. Not a good experience at all compared to other diners in the area.
Second time visiting this diner and our last. We waited at least 45 minutes today to get our food (eggs, homefries, bacon and toast) afted ordering. The first time last month about an hour. Servers were pleasant, food was delicious, prices are good, but the wait time for the food's too long.
I was here 1 time & I'll never return. I ordered a piece of coconut cream pie & after eating part of it I discovered the bottom side of the crust had mold all over it. I was offered another piece of pie ( NO THANK YOU!! ) nothing was deducted from my bill.
First time there and mostlikely the last! We waited at least 40 minutes for our food. It was just 2 of us! Not friendly! Our bill was almost $50 too ( $47.25)
Awful food, terrible service. They don't support the US Military. Staff and customers aren't wearing masks. I do-not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Have a Blessed day and stay Safe....
Have eaten before. Never left a review. Probably a 3-4 most of the time. But I ran into an employee with a really nasty attitude. Friday 3/15/2024 i am guessing around 1 PM I went in to the back of the retsurant (by the bathrooms). I was looking for a community billboard. You know with flyers and business cards for local businesses: Grass cutting in patricular. I thought I saw ow on in a little alcove. I was wrong. It was more of an employee room with HR flyers posted on the wall. But a woman about 60 YO Grey hair, short, medium-heavy build. Horrendous attitude. Her voice indicated a real disdain for me. I guess she thought I was going to steal something. Just a nasty a really bad attitude. At least she should be talked to. I will erase my review once I know she has been dealt with in an approriate manner. Until then I willnow try Alice's Restaurant just up the road. Thanks.
We ate there about a year ago and found out that it was a rather Pathetic place to enjoy a meal at. I had a sense that it would be disappointing before we even entered the parking lot and I was correct. Potato machine in kitchen was noisy, waitresses were lazy and rude, and food was nothing to brag about. Hope things have changed and waitresses recycled out, but if not, there are plenty of other restaurants in the area, especially the Amish, where they take pride in hospitality and their quality of food!
Unfortunately, this wasn’t very baby/toddler friendly. There was no changing table in the bathroom, and I wasn’t able to get through when I tried calling ahead to ask. I was also disappointed by the new large TVs throughout the restaurant, as I like to take my children to TV free places and it wasn’t the atmosphere I once enjoyed. My omelet came out with the cheese not melted at all—still clearly shredded inside. It wasn’t the atmosphere I enjoyed before, and I don’t plan to return.
We will not return after being regular Sunday morning customers for quite a few years. We had several issues after the change in ownership and tried to overlook them. We made the hard decision after today's visit. As soon as the previous owners were no longer helping the following happened each Sunday we went back, one Sunday at a time: Raw home fries, absolutely cold scrapple- looked great but apparently had been sitting for quite some time), and today we ordered 1 pancake, bacon, and the western omelet meal. It took over 30 minutes to get our food, with no explanation why or apologies. Apparently our order must have been misplaced in the kitchen. Everyone that came in after we did got their orders and some were done and left.....we sat wondering what was going on. We explained everything to the host Bob, while paying. Bob apologized to us (the only one to apologize) and wanted to give us free meals. We declined because that was not our intention. We just wanted someone we knew would care to be aware of everything. Guess we're looking for a new Sunday breakfast place.
My husband and I have been going to bridgeport weekly for the last 2 years. I work in the restaurant industry and bridgeport USED to be a 10/10 for us. this change in management has been the worst thing to ever happen to such a gem of a place. first, the staff that have been working there for years are fighting to keep up with the changes and witnessing management be rude to staff about small things during what looks to be a busy lunch rush is tasteless. they give little grace. ADDITIONALLY, the atmosphere was very eclectic and family centered. a place you felt at home. REPLACED BY LARGE FLAT SCREENS AND HORRIFIC WOBBLY TABLES. now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about the menu and food changes. The menu used to be reasonably priced and honestly the old owners could have even charged more because the quality was stellar. their menu was one sheet with things that they made wonderfully. Since the change in management, the prices went WAY up and the quality went WAY down. the food tastes awful and the new dessert case is an eyesore with smooshed desserts and dry looking pies. i would be happy to pay if the food was actually still good but unfortunately that’s the case. I know that the previous owners retired and great for them, but the new ownership should have never messed up a good thing. We officially won’t be back.
Oh no!! Menu changed for the worse :( I will happily change this review if they bring back the breakfast 2-2-2. $7.75 plus tax and tip ($10+ breakfast) is reasonable for 2 eggs, 2 bacon/sausage, 2 pancakes or French toast. $13.99 ($18+ with tax and tip) is not reasonable for the same thing (now called "Bridgeport Classic" or some nonsense), now with worthless home fries or tater tots. Just--please no. Double the price for grease-cooked potatoes? Used to be a worthwhile morning destination, but no thanks, cannot justify going here anymore until better options are made available again. Coffee is watery. Bring back quality and goodness!
