My experience at Leo's is like no other. A genuine feeling of nostalgia, and home is deep in my heart as a resident living in the original Resturant in Bristol. The feeling of family and love is so much more to me. Sentimental. History. Its all there. Leo's grandson Paul is a true gem carrying on this piece of history. Pictures of his family, the original menu, and house where the Resturant stool on state street are to the left when walking in. Continuing some of the original recipes and more. I am so happy my mom and my sister got to spend some lovely time with the owner today. It truly was a core memory created.
Excellent little place with big time flavor! Wife had the chicken Parm and I had the veal alla Gina and both dishes were perfect. Beer selection is a bit thin, but we were able to find decent options. Wait staff was also excellent, recommending multiple dishes and easily explaining intricacies of both dishes.
Small restaurant, fresh food and plenty of GF options. The restaurant is small and was short staffed (holiday weekend), but the staff was upbeat, friendly, and accommodating. We had a delicious meal of lobster ravioli, linguine in clam sauce, fish and chips and GF Buffalo pizza. I felt like I had been invited to a delicious home cooked Italian meal. We will definitely visit on our next visit.
During my recent visit to Leo’s Ristorante, I had the opportunity to savor a variety of dishes that collectively painted a picture of the establishment's culinary prowess. The Pomegranate Martini, featured as the Cocktail of the Month, stood out with its well-executed blend of sweet and tangy flavors. The visually appealing drink set a positive tone for the meal ahead. Moving on to the appetizers, the Calamari was a standout dish, boasting a perfect balance between a crispy exterior and a tender interior. Accompanied by a zesty dipping sauce, it made for an enjoyable start to the dining experience. My friend and I decided to share our entrees. The Pasta alla Antoinetta, showcasing Italian sausage and rabe, demonstrated a commitment to authentic flavors. The savory Italian sausage and robust rabe melded seamlessly, creating a hearty and satisfying dish. The pasta, cooked to perfection, provided a solid foundation for the flavors to shine. Then, the Linguini with White Clam Sauce was a seafood lover's delight. The al dente linguini paired with a rich and flavorful clam sauce offered a well-rounded and enjoyable dining experience. Concluding the meal with an Almond Moka Cappuccino was a delightful choice. The almond undertones added a subtle and pleasing twist to the classic cappuccino, while the velvety foam on top provided a comforting and indulgent finish. Throughout the dining experience, Leo’s Ristorante demonstrated attention to detail, emphasizing genuine flavors and satisfying portions. In summary, Leo’s Ristorante offers a commendable dining experience, combining well-crafted dishes with a focus on authenticity. The diverse array of flavors, from the refreshing cocktail to the hearty pasta dishes and the satisfying cappuccino, make it a worthwhile destination for those seeking a satisfying and flavorful meal. I look forward to returning to explore more of their culinary offerings in the future.
Delicious food in a lovely space that has a lot of personality.
Excellent food- pasta sauce is rich and delicious! We sat outside and it was a nice setting to view the quaint Main Street. Portions are large and the salad was crisp and fresh.
This is one of my boyfriend and I's favorite restaurants to go to in the area. I get the chicken parmesan every time because it's just the best! The bread is always fresh and the staff is helpful and friendly. It's a small place with minimal seating, so calling ahead is always a good idea. Always a great time here!
Leo's is amazing! If you are craving authentic Italian food this is the place. Waitress did an amazing job with our big party. Will definitely be our place to go,
Charming restaurant with excellent food and service. We loved being able to sit outside with a water view down the street. As a recently diagnosed Celiac, I was especially appreciative of GF options like the shrimp garlic scampi pizza which was hearty and to to die for. Yum!! Thank you, Leo’s! We will be back.
We had a wonderful reunion at Leo’s, perfect place for a big gathering. Food was delish, our waitress a doll. Thank you.
Here's where you dine, when seeking homemade food in an atmosphere that enables you to feel at home. Great location on the edge of historic downtown Bristol. I've eaten here countless times.
My family all met for dinner at Leo’s for a 5:00 pm meal. We couldn’t have asked for a better server. Andrew was a real professional. He mingled with us and my granddaughters. He shared with us and we did the same. Our meal was perfect , My Grandaughter wrote a special note to thank Andrew in her own words. I have to say, we were extremely satisfied with our service and the food! Thank you Andrew!
Delicious food! Honestly, one of the best dishes I've had.
I love visiting Bristol and I love Leo's. Great for Saturday lunch! Thank you Cindy, for such a fun afternoon. The food was amazing.
Found Leo's through RWU Alumni. I went last week with a friend and was treated to great service, delicious food and a friendly atmosphere! Will be back many time over the next few years while my son is at RWU. Hope to be there tomorrow night again if my son's match is over in time!
Absolutely perfect. My husband brought me for my birthday. This was our 1st time here. Service, food and prices all excellent. We are definitely coming back ❤
A wonderful atmosphere with amazing homemade Italian food. It's been a long time since I've found a place like this.. I will definitely coming back!
sat outside & had chicken parm- was delicious! & our server Angel was amazing! Highly recommend!!
Amazing gluten free options. Delicious Italian food. Waiter was very attentive
First time eating here and the atmosphere was nice . It was pleasingly quiet where you can hold nice conversation without interruptions. The food was great tasting and staff was very professional , attentive and personal. The menu offered a wide variety of choices. I would recommend everyone to try this restaurant and you too will be more than satisfied .
Just had a delicious meal at Leo's and can't say enough good things here! Food was excellent and our server Ryan was the best! The owner Adriana checked in with us as well - she was delightful! I have tried all of Bristol's Italian spots- Leo's beat them all!
We had a delicious dinner at Leo’s this evening. The veal parm was off the charts, and the gluten free pizza was the best I’ve ever had. Wine, service, quality of food and ambiance will have us coming back soon.
Let’s start off by saying that this place is wonderful. The food is always great and we are always met with a friendly smile at the door. My only comment on the restaurant would be the atmosphere. When you walk in there is no music and very little to be heard. When you think Italian you think lively crowds sharing a great meal together and having a cold martini. Creating this atmosphere would take this place to the next level.
Had a lovely lunch with my son, with great food and excellent service. I made a reservation, though the restaurant wasn't crowded. We had a great view and the food was really good. I had Italian Baked Fish, lots of lovely haddock with a scrumptious sauce and sides. My son had chicken and broccoli Alfredo and also enjoyed it. We didn't need a doggy bag as we completely cleared our plates. Service was excellent, I'll definitely be visiting again.
Held a family gathering for 16 people, all were satisfied with food, service and atmosphere. Living in Florida now and unable to return weekly as I would love.
Great Italian food and great service. Our waiter, Ryan, was fantastic! The cheesy garlic bread is to die for. If you're in the Bristol area, Leo's is a must-stop!
My husband and I celebrated Valentine’s Day here. We had a delicious dinner and a wonderful waitress Kianna. They make a perfect eggplant and a delicious gravy. Leo’s is a great place to enjoy anytime!
It's been awhile since our last visit to Leo's but so happy we returned! The restaurant was decorated nicely with hanging lights in all of the front windows. Our waitress, Mya was very friendly and helpful. We started with a cheese pizza, extra crispy and then our entrees were the baked lasagna and the chicken Marsala. Yum! We will definitely return and highly recommend you give it a try!
The Italian Baked Fish was outstanding! I was hesitant to order it as I don't like an overwhelming marinara sauce. Instead, it was light, yet very tasty letting this perfectly cooked fish stand out! I ate every bite along with the mashed potatoes and excellent spinach side. The calamari appetizer was also very good and the sauce was perfect for dipping their lovely bread.
My wife & son stopped by while passing through beautiful Bristol. We had a lovely lunch with superb service and a wonderful atmosphere. The restaurant was clean, the waiter was excellent and the food was delicious and very fresh. We loved the music and ambience of the old building. Definitely worth a repeat visit in the future.
Haven't eaten here since I was younger, probably 20 years ago. I forgot how good they are. And the service is top notch. Best local Italian spot by far
My son and I sat outside with our dog Trooper and had an amazing experience at Leo's! Our servers name was Maya and she made the incredible experience even better with her attention to detail and care !
Great family restaurant, take the kids here all the time. The whole family loves the food. Atmosphere is quaint.
Leo’s in Bristol has quickly become our go-to spot for a great meal out with our family. The Italian food is absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and comforting. But what really sets Leo’s apart is the people. The staff and owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, and they always go out of their way to make us feel at home. We love bringing our three-year-old daughter here. Can’t recommend Leo’s enough—Bristol is lucky to have a place like this!
Our waitress Angie was wonderful! The food was delicious and the company entertaining! Will be back!
My server, Hannah P., was such an amazing and attentive waitress. She was extremely sweet and patient with my party. She gave great recommendations for food and was overall an absolutely wonderful woman to talk to. She was quick with our drinks and gave us plenty of time to make up our minds on what we would like. The food tasted amazing and came out quickly. Leo’s is a great restaurant, highly recommended!!
We love this wonderful Italian restaurant! The owners, Paul and Adrianna, are so welcoming. We always enjoy a delicious meal and the staff is friendly and accommodating. I especially adore the polenta with broccolini and Italian sausage. It’s an appetizer however it is plentiful enough as an entree with leftovers. The lasagna and eggplant are always great choices too. We have never been disappointed! The espresso martinis are a nice ending to a delicious meal. We look forward to returning soon. I want to try the pizza with fig and goat cheese. It sounds incredible!
My boyfriend and I went here for the first time yesterday and we absolutely loved it. He got their summer cocktail and it was so delicious. We had a server named Jaron too and he was so fun and made our experience so lighthearted (we love when we can joke around with a server) and we will DEFINITELY be coming back :))
Had a great anniversary dinner and were pleasantly surprised at how nice the place and people were.
Quaint little Italian restaurant in the heart of Bristol served us excellent clam chowder and tiramisu. The shrimp scampi over angel hair pasta was good. The Italian bread could have been fresher and the Side salads were okay. Our server was friendly. All in all, it was a nice experience.
Chicken broccoli Alfredo is excellent. 4 cheese ravioli is pretty good and meatballs are good. Eggplant Parm was a little bland and the pizza needs work from our perspective. It wasn't bad, it just isn't up to par with what we call excellent pizza. Nice staff and great drinks!
11.13.21 We made reservations just to be safe. Street parking was easy. Got seated quickly and had a bottle of wine $32 served soon after. We ordered the veal parm and a pizza as we both like to share our meals. But unfortunately we got charged $5 for the kitchen to split our veal. Had we known about the charge we would have easily done it ourselves with the extra plates at our table. Wish the waitress told us there was a fee. But besides that annoying charge, overall we enjoyed our dinners, thought the food had lots of flavors. Their red sauce is very good. I liked having white tablecloths as it makes the dining more enjoyable. Friendly staff.
This was pretty good! The waitress was super polite and attentive, the Shirley temples were delicious and we got super soft complimentary bread with butter! The appetizers were great as well. The Caesar salad was good, just nothing remarkable. The wait was also pretty long, but I don’t think that is a normal thing. Overall, if you can’t find anywhere else I would stop here however I think there are better places in the area.
We’ve eaten here many times over the past few years but today 9/20/25 - 5pm I was very disappointed with my spaghetti bolognese ( To go) Lacked flavor and hardly any sauce and the garlic bread was rock hard and flavorless too. My wife’s dinner wasn’t much better. Wouldn’t normally give a bad review but saying we were disappointed is an understatement for what we paid for 2 meals. Update on review, almost 6 months since this review, we gave it another chance on pick up, but I’m sorry to say it’s just as bad as before . My wife did not have too much to complain about hers, but the Bolognesei ordered was equally as bad as last time. I’ve had this a few times over the years In the restaurant and it’s always been good. Far too expensive for the poor quality of food. It’s a real shame because this is the restaurant that gave me a taste for Italian food.
My friends and I were up there for a Porch Fest and we went in to check the place out and grab a drink. We needed to use the bathroom first and they gave us the evil eye. The manager was really rude. Inside is dated, unattractive, and no bar area, so we had drinks outside. My friend decided to get food. Some of our other friends joined us. We moved two outdoor tables together, to accommodate 7 of us. The manager came out and said we can’t do that. My friends all ordered food and seemed to like it. I just ordered Prosecco, which was a good choice. Small portions didn’t impress me. The waitress made a mistake and and gave my friend regular fries with her sandwich, we had clearly asked for sweet potato. She came out with a plate and scraped the wrong fries off my friends plate with her other food on it, and brought out a separate plate with the sweet potato fries. Honestly, ANY good restaurant would’ve left the other fries. I’ll never go there again. Way too many great restaurants in the area to waste my money there.
Service was poor. The waiter was nice but they were VERY understaffed possibly??? Because he was running all over the place. Had a giant party of people- which left us waiting on refills for drinks constantly and not at all being checked in on. We waited almost fifteen minutes for him to come grab our card to pay. The women at the front couldn’t let us pay for some reason and said we had to wait for our waiter to grab it. The staff seemed to be stressed or busy. Continuing to tell the waiter he needed to be doing certain things. It was very distracting and unprofessional also. We don’t need to be hearing about the issues going on while eating dinner. The clam chowder was INCREDIBLE. The food I ate was cold and felt microwaved. My mom also had very cold lobster ravioli. Small portions. The food might have been good but was cold. Also I’m not sure what the issue was here with the staffing situation. Very disappointed.
A first and last experience if you’re in Bristol. Only table at dinner time so that was red flag number one. #2 would be the drinks, small wine glasses at a standard sized price, and you get the added bonus of crusty spots all over the glass so that wasn’t really pleasing. Bread with butter too cold to spread, you’re the only table but the server finds it challenging to remember to check on you, high prices for sub par recipes. The food doesn’t taste bad, it’s alright. But so average that you pay the usual hundred dollars for two people and walk out feeling as if Olive Garden were the better choice…
Sorry about the bad review Leo's Restaurant but every word is true. Just want to add that my girlfriend and I aren't food critics but go out to dinner at least twice per week and have logged some serious time at Italian restaurants from Providence to Boston (but mostly on the South Coast). Arrived to be seated outside with reservations. Chairs were located in a pile of dried leaves from last fall. Had to move them away from the building to see my feet. Waiter was OK but at times inattentive. Bread was brought with a small ball of butter. Girlfriend and I didn't have side plates or utensils /napkins so we waited... and waited until I finally got up after 15 minutes to chase down waiter's assistant to ask if she could help us. Meals were not up to par with the ravings of other Google reviewers. Chicken Parm and Chicken Marsala had all the moisture pounded out of them. They were tough chewing and neither on of us finished out of chewing exhaustion and bland taste. Girlfriend had to search for any sign of melted cheese on her Chicken Parm. The sauce on my Chicken Marsala was watery and I was unable to discern whether it was made with dry or sweet Marsala wine. Needless to say, we didn't stay for dessert. Very disappointed on a beautiful night at 7pm last Friday. Needless to say, we won't be going back.
Visited September 2025, I would not go back, food was ok, waitress was pleasant but did not know how to make drinks, sent back several times. Only one bathroom in establishment, long wait even though restaurant was not busy. Prices are higher than they should be. I would look for another Bristol restaurant. When I emailed my concerns the day after, I got the impression they did not care.
We went to Leo’s during the first week of May 2025. On out visit it wasn’t crowded at about 6 pm. The service was pitiful. Terrible in fact. It took 45 minutes to get our food. The food was horrendous . It was too salty and literally vomit inducing . I will never return here. I’d rather have cold Ramen at home than anything from Leo’s. Terrible.
