my husband knows how risky it is to get me to try a new restaurant but after 18+ yrs together, I'm finally beginning to trust his judgement 🤣 Vivian's Table was an absolute delight & the staff was just as charming! Below is a list of things we devoured graciously & recommend highly: complimentary appetizer- we didn't catch the name but it's a kind of smoked trout mousse or pâté & crostini topped with microgreens appetizer 1- Jalapeño poppers- pimento cheese, smoked beef brisket, applewood bacon, sriracha aioli, unagi sauce, green onion appetizer 2- Harissa Deviled Eggs (gf)- harissa spice, cilantro, mustard, fried onion entrée- Country Cordon Bleu- biscuit fried chicken, pimento cheese, shaved country ham, cheese grits, sautéed spinach, sweet corn country gravy dessert- Chocolate Basil Entremet- basil mousse, brownie, peanut butter, Rabbit Hole bourbon caramel, chocolate glaze, toasted almond, smoked bourbon sea salt drink- Happy Camper- codigo 1530 reposado, ilegal mezcal, licor 43, toasted marshmallow syrup, mole bitters
This was my favorite food experience since moving to the Tri cities area. We had Nick as our waiter and he was beyond kind and passionate about the food and history of the restaurant. My husband and I were also celebrating our anniversary to which Vivian’s treated us to one of their wonderful desserts (we got the cheesecake with bourbon caramel sauce and it was IMMACULATE). Pro-tip: Tri the crab cakes and risotto when the chef makes them- you won’t be disappointed. We will most definitely be back 💕
Delicious food with some unique twists! We love to try shrimp and grits wherever we go and these were at the top of my list! Creamy grits and fresh shrimp...yum! My husband said his trout was very good. I highly recommend the cornbread made with blue cornmeal. Our server was fantastic... excellent overall!
We had a fantastic brunch. We were seated promptly, checked on well by the waitress, and the food was great. We had the deviled eggs, lox, and huevos rancheros. The restaurant is small and can get loud if crowded, so be aware of that.
The service is excellent. Our waitress Krista was friendly and helpful. The manager came out to check on us. The dining room is beautiful. They have a very good wine selection. The Mediterranean Salmon over risotto was very good. The gnocchi dish was beautifully presented. Unfortunately it was cold but the staff made up for it. We enjoyed the cheesecake also.
We had the special of the rangoons and the trout dip for an appetizer. The shrimp and grits for the meal. The food an and service were great and the atmosphere was very pleasant. It was nice to have an upscale meal without having to leave the hotel. Great job Vivians.
A lovely establishment with a friendly and helpful staff. My family and I were taking a long road trip and stopped here for dinner. The servers made us feel very welcome and treated my children excellently, even though this is clearly a higher class establishment. The portions were large and the food is clearly quality. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 on the food is that it may be just a little too high class for some people. The dishes are complex and that may be a little bit too much for some people, like me.
I've been here twice so far for breakfast, and each time, all aspects have been on point. Great and attentive service and very fresh and delicious food. The first time, I went in for the basic Bristol Starter (eggs, meat toast, etc) but was instead talked into a limited pastrami hash they had made, and it was a wonderful recommendation. The next time, I did try the basics, and they were also fantastic. You'll pay a little for atmosphere and quality, but trust me, it's worth it.
My husband and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary this past week and decided on Vivian's Table for our dinner celebration. And boy, did we get completely spoiled by the restaurant staff. We received a free appetizer and dessert compliments of the chef. Our dinner was absolutely out of this world. I had the special of the night, which was Scallops Carbonara. My husband had a New York Strip and added Au Poivre as an enhancement, but devoured it even before I could take a picture of it. From the hostess, to our amazing waiter Nick, to the kitchen...your hospitality and professionalism did not go unnoticed. A million thank yous for making our night so special and memorable. Lastly since Vivian's Table is located inside the beautiful Bristol Hotel, we took a small detour upstairs and enjoyed the rooftop views of Bristol from LUMAC Rooftop Bar. Everything was absolutely perfect and we cannot wait to go back.
We had a fantastic time for my mom’s birthday at Vivian’s Table. Making a reservation was so simple and the experience was perfect from start to finish. The drinks were wonderful, the food flavorful, and the service was 10/10. We are hoping to come back for breakfast or lunch!
My fiancé booked us at Vivian’s Table for their Valentine’s Day Experience and it was amazing! All three courses were great! I started off with the deviled eggs while he had the Italian Wedding Soup. We both had the Delmonico as our entree and I finished with crème Brulee while he had the apple mousse. The food was amazing! I love that they paced the different courses so well! The server was very friendly and knowledgeable and kept the table clean. It was a sweet touch to receive a complimentary rose and Prosecco. If they do more experiential dining experiences throughout the year I hope to attend again!
Fantastic private dining experience. Food quality and value was out of this world, and Ruth was an amazing server. Charcuterie boards were straight out of a viking post-victory celebration, and the chicken cordon with pimento cheese and grits was a flavor explosion. Likely the best food available on Bristol is served here. Even the breakfast was insanely good. Room for improvement: main dining room vibes. Needs some musical ambience, and in the morning perhaps play some coffee house tunes. Breakfast time was awkwardly silent and uncomfortable, cozy music would go a long way to making the space feel more inviting.
Delicious food. Delicious cocktails. Very polite waiter. I’m going back asap
I enjoyed visiting Vivian’s Table, from the atmosphere and the diverse wine list to the food and the presentation. I was a bit apprehensive before arriving, as the food photos looked so beautiful that I questioned their authenticity. However, after receiving my order, I can say that the pictures accurately represent what you will experience. The restaurant features a modern Southern decor with stained concrete flooring, wooden tables, and lovely chandeliers. The lighting strikes a perfect balance—not too bright or dark. I opted to sit at the bar, as the tall chairs were comfortable, and the bar itself was impeccable. The wine list is concise yet engaging, with selections from various regions, including Oregon and Argentina. I tried a glass of the 2021 Archival-Ferrer Malbec, which, while pricy, was excellent and full of flavor. For a starter, I ordered the cornbread, which was distinctive. Its purple hue and flavor deviated from typical dry cornbread. This appetizer was moist with a crust; its aroma reminded me of pancake ends. The side of butter didn’t enhance it much; I would suggest using a butter spread or, even better, a maple spread. For dinner, I wanted to try a South Carolina favorite: Shrimp & Grits. I was impressed with their elegant approach to this dish. It may seem unusual to describe Shrimp & Grits as elegant, but as Calgacus said, “If an empire can make a call.” The dish was non-spicy, featuring a subtle base sauce or roux with a squash-like flavor. The jumbo shrimp were well-cooked, and a thick strip of bacon was used in place of Andouille sausage. It was a great dish that I recommend to non-purists who don’t prioritize spicy flavors and sausage. I must add that the bartender who took my order and the runner who brought it were terrific. The presentation was on point, and the timing was excellent. I definitely recommend Vivian's Table and will be returning—again and again. Next time, I might try the steak.
Brunch was amazing. Zucchini bread, lemon ricotta pancakes, biscuits and gravy with the perfect over medium egg. high standard for breakfast. Can’t say enough good things about the food and service! Will keep on our Bristol list for the future
They handled our birthday party of 10+ well. The atmosphere is great. The waiter was professional. The food was presented beautifully and flavorful. I had Sake soaked watermelon and shrimp and grits. I would definitely bring my wife back for a date night!
After driving all day, we were happy that the hotel had a nice restaurant on the property. Much to our delight, this restaurant was wonderful! I never had fried green tomatoes, but always wanted to try them. They were crispy and tasty. My sweetie had the crab bisque and it too was delicious. Our waitress, Ashley, was so pleasant and accommodating. Each course was delicious, so even though we were stuffed we opted for dessert too. My coffee was even "looking" at me, lol. What a wonderful treat this place was. Highly recommend!
Excellent brunch and bloody Marys! Friendly service and a cool vibe place in The Bristol Hotel. Great unique takes on some classics.
We were passing through town heading south and were overnighting in Bristol. We decided to give Vivian's table a shot. And we are glad we did. While we did not order anything complicated from their menu, literally just steak and potatoes, what we got was great. The atmosphere was great, the decorating is wonderful. And the attached hotel seems really nice as well. The service was excellent.
Took my boyfriend here for his Birthday dinner. Located inside the Bristol hotel, we entered an elegant glamorous restaurant with a great atmosphere. We ordered ribeyes and fries, deviled eggs, loaded baked potatoes. Old fashions, champagne. The entire dining experience was wonderful! Everything tasted delicious. Staff was friendly, professional and very attentive. We then had breakfast here during our stay. We both got the biscuits and gravy. Divine!!!!!!!!! Will definitely return on our next visit!!!!
Great place, The Bloody Marys were very good. I had steak and Eggs, Wife had the Rabbit hole derringer bourbon shrimp and grits, Mom had biscuits and gravy. Everything was delicous. server was awesome and full of information about the Bourbon. And the meals. His name was Landry and he was awesome.
Such a good spot for date night while visiting Bristol. Quiet, nice ambiance! Food was delicious!! We did wait longer than we felt we should have for our drinks from the bar and the restaurant was not full. Other than that we loved our experience! The smoked Gouda Grits are the jam!!
Brunch was delicious and reasonably priced! Our server was a delight and truly loves what she does. Love having such this gem so close to home!
Must try! Every dish we ordered was wonderful and stood out on it’s own. The charcuterie board was delicious. My favorite was the shrimp and grits! Shrimp were cooked perfectly. This place is a hidden gem, definitely recommend.
Amazing service and hospitality! The food was delicious, and I couldn't recommend the vibes enough! Perfect for a date night and/or celebration!
Vivian's Table offers a beautiful and classy setting that's perfect for any occasion. The atmosphere is inviting, making it an ideal spot for gatherings. The service is exceptional, with attentive staff who ensure a delightful experience. I always look forward to the yummy breakfast options during our breakfast club meetings. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a lovely dining experience!
Superb brunch location inside Bristol Hotel. Biscuits and gravy was delicious. Biscuit was light, flaky, and perfectly buttered. Service was excellent. Full bar available.
Elevated brunch experience at The Bristol Hotel. We made a reservation the night before, which I recommend because the restaurant is somewhat small. Convenient parking directly across the street. Service was great; very kind staff. Food was delicious! Overall wonderful experience!
Atmosphere was welcoming, friendly, and fancy all at the same time. The food was excellent. I had the Mediterranean salmon and could not stop eating it. The salmon was seared perfectly, served over a bed of rossoto with field greens, artichokes, and grilled tomatoes. All I can say is delicious!
This was our first time visiting and I have to say it did not disappoint. The food was exceptional and the service was phenomenal. My husband and I will be adding this restaurant to our regular rotation.
Excellent food & service. We visited for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and were extremely pleased. Christina, our bartender/server, and did an excellent job and provided the best level of service.
I had the mushroom gnocchi, it was a tiny bit bland. BUT!! The Cornbread appetizer was very good. Along with the wine and dessert. Would go back to try other menu options they had!
Excellent brunch. We stopped by without a reservation on a Sunday, and they graciously sat us at the bar. The service was fantastic and the food was excellent. We were served quickly and we were very happy with our meal. Our server was so kind and friendly. Excellent and highly recommend.
I've eaten here several times. The salmon dish (my daughter's fav) is one of the best I've ever had. I usually get the daughter's and have never been disappointed. Bar drinks are very nice too.
Spectacular. Do yourself a favor and choose this restaurant first!!! Husband's, surprise your wives by taking her here. Wives, make your husband take you to Vivian's!!! Let me explain. On a weekend getaway I stumbled on this place in Google reviews. We were heading home and this restaurant was on the way so we decided to eat breakfast here and do a few quick things in town. Unlike most breakfast spots, there is a chef in the kitchen who is particular about the food that's being served. I'm talking about the fluffiest egg omelets, the finest breakfast meats, the best creamy grits, " and I don't even eat grits, I have only eaten about 3 full servings all my life but couldn't keep my fork out of my wife's bowl ", and get this, this restaurant is so fine, when you order decaffeinated coffee, you brew the best cup right at the table. All of this and so much more at the same price as the other guys. So Google family, if you are remotely close Vivian's Table, do not hesitate to go. I came to the area to visit Cumberland Gap and didn't even go there. The next time I'm coming to the area to eat at Vivian's Table for breakfast and dinner every day, it's just that good. Go ahead, try it out. Let the people of Vivian's Table spoil you like they have spoiled me. I'm finally able to afford a Chef! 😉😉😉
My wife and I love Vivian’s and it is our go to Friday breakfast spot in the area. Crystal H. is usually our server and she is incredibly kind and always goes above and beyond for us. She even remembers our order every week! The food is always delicious and we feel fortunate to have a place like Vivian’s in our area!
We had such a great experience at Vivian’s Table! Our server, Kate, was attentive, pleasant, and truly took our evening to the next level. The scallops were insanely good and the ribeye was cooked to perfection. The bartender clearly has skills—every cocktail was spot on. And the pastry chef? Straight out of The Bear—absolutely incredible desserts. Can’t wait to come back!
We ate here on Valentine’s Day, I had the most delicious steak of my life. My husband had the salmon which was equally as delicious. Abbi was a phenomenal hostess, so attentive and charismatic. Every dish was fantastic. We couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Breakfast: Omelet was outstanding! Potatoes perfect! Coffee ok. Dinner: trout was spectacular and seasoned without being overwhelming, Filet perfectly done. The staff at Vivien’s were wonderful and so kind! One thing I would add; with the average cost per menu item, I would expect dinners to be served with a small salad before the main course. Something to consider.
Was a beautiful setting. I'm not sure if we just went on a bad day. They did have a larger party, which seemed to occupy our waitress. A couple near us left due to wait, so it wasn't just us. The food was okay. One of the entrees came to the table cooked incorrectly. Management came and offered a new entree, but by the time she came, the rest of the table was finishing. Overall, it was an okay experience as our drinks were mixed correctly, and the environment was enjoyable. I did love the vegetable risotto, the best part of the meal for me. Others liked the charcuterie board. Just lacked some on the entrees and service for what you're paying.
I enjoyed a very satisfying breakfast at Vivian's Table while visiting Bristol. The restaurant was pristine and tastefully decorated. Atmosphere at the restaurant was relaxed and pleasant. The staff were helpful and friendly. I had the brisket with scrambled eggs and hash browns... it was fresh, delicious, and generously portioned... an absolute delight. I will definitely dine at Vivian's Table again when visiting Bristol.
We had a very nice meal at Vivian's Table. Our server, Tracey, was truly fantastic and took excellent care of us - very knowledgeable and super engaging. We started with cocktails, a Caesar, and a wedge salad, and for entrees had a filet with grilled broccolini and a NY strip with a loaded baked potato. The cocktails were outstanding, and the filet was cooked perfectly. The broccolini, while delicious, was very tough—almost raw. The NY strip also leaned more medium than the medium-rare we requested. We still enjoyed a very good dinner, but with some fine tuning this place could be phenomenal. We'll definitely be back to try their brunch.
Great find along the road from Lexington, VA, to Greenville, SC. A lovely restaurant attached to a cool boutique hotel. Great food, really good coffee, reasonably priced. The only downside was a server who appeared to be a failed standup comedian who wouldn't leave us alone while we were eating and then ignored us when it was time to go.
We drive to visit family in Nashville 4-5 times a year. Recently, I discovered the Bristol Hotel, and we have been to Vivian's table four times now. The first two visits in December were great, however, when we dined there over Easter weekend, we left disappointed. We ordered the short rib and salmon. You can see from the picture, you don't get much for a $42 order of short rib. The next morning, I thought we'd have a quick breakfast before leaving the hotel. It was Easter Sunday, so I checked open table. All the slots were available for 8-10 am, so I didn't book anything. We stopped by the restaurant at 9:20 am. The restaurant was completely empty other than one couple. As the host was seating them, I overheard him say, "we can get you in and out of here quickly." He returned and told me that he could not seat us because they were about to get slammed with customers. I asked if we could order at the bar. I was told I could order something at the host stand. About 15 minutes later, we received two orders of eggs benedict with one side of cold potatoes in a styrofoam container (we should have received two, but as the order we received was not very good, I said nothing). We ate in the lobby and returned to our room at 9:50. Only one other family came to the restaurant during this entire time. When we left around 10:20, the restaurant was mostly empty with staff congregating around the host stand in conversation. We won't go back to the restaurant. I thought the Bristol Hotel would be our new place to stay during our frequent trips to Tennessee, but we will probably try another place next time. It's a very nice hotel, but the experience we had on Easter Sunday was a big negative and the last thing we remember about our stay at this hotel. I'm giving 3 stars because we had a better experience in December and perhaps this time was due to different staff than we encountered on the first visit.
#1 Tried again for anniversary. Still a few glitches but much improved. A place this nice should serve filtered water. Ours was almost undrinkable because of chlorine smell. Steak and salmon were excellent and well prepared, as was salad, risotto and parsnip. Broccoli was uncooked and wild mushrooms weren’t wild. Crème brule was excellent and just perfectly prepared and the drinks were good, coffee was excellent and fresh. Waiter was superb, very nice and professional. Great experience this time. #2 My wife and I visited for Valentine's Day brunch. The restaurant seemed understaffed and two employees were almost running to try and keep up. Kitchen seemed in the weeds, with no expediter even though there were only a few customers. We had breakfast, frittata and french toast and both were tasty and well presented. Prices were good, but the wait was overly long and there were a few other things amiss, mostly indicative of overworked staff. No strawberry chutney or whipped cream for toast, napkin under the table from dinner the night before, a moldy blueberry and all the food a bit cool. All in all a nice place to eat but it would be better if a bit more care was evident in training, and double checking service.
For some place that is relatively new and supposed to be part of a four star hotel, it was very disappointing. At one p.m. on a Thursday afternoon, there were only two other couples - both were just talking business and not eating. Our waitress was nice but she was obviously a smoker. Unfortunately, they were out of 3 or 4 of the items on the menu. It was supposed to all be farm to table style but a lot of it was very heavy in nature. We decided to try a potato chip appetizer and see what we thought before ordering anything else. They were handmade chips similar to Ruffles, but they tasted fresh and good. Sprinkled on top was a home made bleu cheese dressing, candied bacon, pickled Italian peppers and sriracha. They were tasty but would have been better if layered as most of the toppings were int eh bottom of the bowl. The bacon was lightly sprinkled and could have used some more as it was a nice contrast to the spice. It was good but not great, we decided not to try anything else after that. A four star boutique hotel should have a restaurant worthy of it's nature and Vivian's is not that. The lunch sandwiches that were listed looked really heavy - mostly covered in tons of gooey toppings.
Was very disappointed at Vivian‘s table tonight. The food I’ll come out cold. The potato is half done you had to mix the butter up. It wouldn’t melt in the potatoes. I got the Petite fillet and I had to spit Out the first bat it was grizzly, and then a couple bites got with stringy, and it got hung in my throat, and I thought I was gonna get choke and the asparagus was cold. It might’ve been good if it was hot it just taste bland and cold . And just got a half a glass of water then she never come to fill the water again.
My whole party was not happy with the food. We had a party of 5 and no ones food was proper, and it was rather pricey. The service was ok and the atmosphere was fine. I used to cook in fine dining and I saw several issues with the way the cooks/chefs were preparing. They are 3 star price for 1 star food.
Went for Sunday Brunch with a party of 5. Despite the dining room being only ~ 25% full, the hostess made a point of informing us she had given our table away because we were 15 minutes past our reservation time. She then walked us past numerous empty tables and stood aside, waited and watched while we determined that she meant for us to push two tables together ourselves without offering to help. The food was inconsistent. Two guests ordered steak and eggs medium-rare; the steaks served were 1/4" thick, well-done, and resembled fast food quality. Conversely, the bread pudding french toast, omelet, and potatoes were very good. Service was also a mixed experience. While our waitress was very friendly, a food runner knocked a full glass of water onto a guest’s lap. The runner was apologetic and embarrassed, but management never came over to address the incident and no gesture of goodwill was made by any of the staff. The combination of a hostile front-of-house, poor steak quality, and management's silence after a significant spill made for a disappointing visit.
High end restaurant feel mixed with dreadful food at a high price tag. Calamari for appetizer mixed with fried lemons and peppers. Calamari was good, beware of the deep fried lemons. Steak was tough and no flavor. Yukon potatoes looked like they had expired a year ago, just look at them in the photo and compare it to the photo they share on their social media platform. Dining experience was sent to management with no response.
