Kaiten zushi is delicious. We went on a Thursday night with a reservation but there were several other tables open. You can eat a la carte or the all you can eat. We chose the all you can eat and enjoyed it immensely. We loved the shrimp tempura rolls, crab California rolls, miso soup, and mixed tempura. The salad was generous and the fried foods including spring rolls, fried tofu, and toboyaki were delicious. They frequently refilled our water and brought extra chopsticks when we needed them. The delivery system was so fun. Overall a great experience.
Everything was amazing! Love the style, the service, and the food was delicious. Portions were a bit small but can't beat that price. Might be my new go to stop!
I'm really happy that I stopped in this place . Actually, I was just walking by and wanted to try. The reviews were good, and I understand why. So Saturday evening, no waiting . This place has two menus. One is $50 for all you can eat. The second menu is a la carte, but I can say the price is very conservative. Anyway, the atmosphere was pretty empty, but maybe this place is concerned about food. The food is just amazing, everything is fresh and great. The service I like too. So I will definitely stop by next time.
I really loved the sushi! They’re all so good and the option of unlimited eating is just perfect! I think it might be a bit overpriced. But if you’re coming with huge group, it’s a great place where you can try different varieties of sushi, rolls, and appetizers! I recommend it if you want to try new experiences and tasty sushi
Genuinely a great AYCE sushi experience. My partner and I went on a Tuesday and the restaurant was not busy. Service was quick, even with the mobile server (very cute!). The sushi itself was incredible, especially the salmon, tasting incredibly fresh. Everything else that was ordered was beyond my expectations. Kaiten Zushi Nomad will definitely get my business again.
I went here 2 times w the same friend and we were very satisfied for the price. We paid 64 dollars each after tip and tax but we had sososo much to eat. My favorite has to be the salmon and eel nigiri. Although the fish to rice ratio is def 1:2. They had a good verity of sushi nigiri, classic and special rolls, hand rolls, noodles, and appetizers. Service was pretty decent, nothing too special but good overall experience. The music was all kpop, but for some reason when we went the 2nd time it was only BlackPink. We were struggling to find an ayce sushi place in Manhattan and this is the one to go to. Thank you, we will be coming back!!
Great experience here! I originally thought this spot was a conveyor belt sushi where the plates go around and you grab it as it comes but it’s more so where you order it and it comes directly to you via the conveyor belt. It was a really fun experience and the sushi was great. The food came out really quickly. They also had a cute little robot bringing your drinks around. Highly recommend their nigiris (the salmon mayo was the best!!). Staff were super nice and attentive as well. For the weekends, it’s $50pp for ayce. Definitely a fun spot to try out!
My son is a sushi snob. He grew up with multiple protein allergies so there is no way of fooling him and his stomach if quality is compromised. It’s his survival at stake. Freshness as well as pureness of what he eats keeps him alive and belly happy. Kaiten Zushi Nomad attained a perfect score for all three trips we made there to spoil my son. Bravo! 👏
Kaiten Zushi is the only conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Manhattan and it a unique dining experience. I really appreciate that they don’t have sushi constantly circulating on the conveyor belt (raw fish sitting at room temperature is a food safety issue). You order on the Ipad and the food is made fresh and arrives quickly on the conveyor belt. The staff is attentive and quick to clear your empty plates. The robot that brings out drinks is a fun touch as it reminds me of Tokyo. This place is great for groups and parties and overall it’s a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Even though I’m not a big sushi fan, I really liked the potato croquette. It came out hot and crispy, a clear sign that everything is made to order. The space is also large and open, so you’re not cramped or sitting too close to others. They currently have a promotion, for a party of four, 3 pays and the fourth eats free. I chose the all-you-can-eat option, which was worth it, but they also offer à la carte if that’s your preference. If you’re looking for a different dining experience, Kaiten Zushi is definitely worth checking out, right in the heart of Koreatown.
While the sushi here is a bit mid, I’m still giving this place five stars because of the excellent value for money and the exceptional customer service from our server, JP. We’ve visited this branch a few times, and this was our second time being taken care of by JP. His service was truly spectacular. He’s the definition of hospitality: attentive, professional, and incredibly warm. It’s rare to come across someone who consistently goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome and well taken care of. As for the food, we definitely prefer the à la carte menu. The options are better and the quality seems noticeably higher compared to the all-you-can-eat menu. The ambiance is great and gives you a fun preview of what a conveyor belt sushi experience is like in Japan.
A conveyer beltesque all you can eat sushi spot in flatiron. Was not very packed during lunch, dishes came out pretty quickly. The cute robot brought over water, place is pretty spotless. You can order 4 items at a time on the tablet, which will be delivered on the top level of belts from the prep station behind a curtain. The sushi are good proportion though not great quality. Tried a variety of dishes like ramen, miso soup, katsu, salads and handrolls. Was stuffed at the 1hr mark, well worth the price.
I ventured to this spot after a meeting for a solo lunch. I came on a weekday between lunch and dinner, so I was seated immediately. The hostess was extremely helpful & nice, she explained the ordering process very clearly. Seeing my dish slide down the conveyor belt was just a lot of fun and the wall of Anime figures near the bar is incredible. I love One Piece & Dragon Ball so it was definitely a nice touch. Best: The Yellowtail was so fresh! That and the Aburi Salmon Mayo were my favorite types of nigiri. My favorite rolls were definitely Volcano & Yummy 😋 Pass: Chicken Karage, while cooked perfectly, it was very dry and the coating was not the best. Also I'd stay away from the hand rolls. The rice makes up 75% of the filling. Lastly please note sashimi does not appear on the ayce menu, so just keep that in mind if you're not looking to consume too many carbs.
3.5 for me. The lunch time pricing is a great deal and if you have small children under 12 they have a really reasonable fixed price for them for both lunch and dinner too. Food indeed was tasty but really was expecting a true conveyor belt rotation of fast prepared items not an order on a iPad and then it comes to you on a conveyor. Decor is very modern and clean and the staff is also really nice. Location is prime and they have an abundant amount of seating as well. Will return again soon!
Kaiten Zushi I really liked! I like how the sushi comes out in a conveyor belt and you’re able to try various different dishes costing around $4-$7 each! The sushi also came out very fast, I ordered on the iPad and it came out in a couple of minutes. I was able to also change my order when I told the waiters that I wanted to change it. The customer service was really great! Keep in mind that this is the only conveyor sushi belt in Manhattan. The place was also spacious and huge with a modern ambience to it. I really liked the miso soup, the octopus roll, and tuna roll! The French fries were also really good! The sushi was tasty and very fresh. I liked how you were able to try various different dishes for an affordable price of around $15-$25. I liked how you were able to mix and match. Price: $15-$25💸 Rating: 8/10 📝
Foods were fresh and everyone was attentive. Once you placed order, they prepared foods pretty quickly. The restaurant itself seems well maintained. Only downside is that unlike what menu is indicated in the website, only certain dishes were available to order. Oh also I would commend to stick with Nigiri than handroll if you want more fish bc handrolls had too much rice. I went for dinner so this experience makes me questioning a bit if $49.99+tax is worthy. Maybe try their lunch first.
I just wanted to see what the fuss is all about. People have tried it and loved it. Have to see for myself. Went there on the 4th of July for lunch. I was the first one there with my family. We were quickly seated, and like any other conveyor belt sushi places in Japan, you order from a tablet provided. I was very disappointed that Sashimi was not on the menu. Choices were limited. You get the basic fish only like salmon, tuna, squid etc. No Uni,Toro or Ikura, and so on. The ramen was not to my expectation. I would expect better from a restaurant in Manhattan. The other thing I want to point out is no matcha!!!! Anyway, the price was $49.99 per person, which was a bit steep, being the limited choice on the sushi.
There isn’t much variety and the Dinner ayce is not worth the extra $18 at all considering how little variety there is. Also, they give SO MUCH rice for each piece. By the end you would have eaten 70% rice (they charge extra for any leftovers). If you happen to come here anyways DO NOT get the assorted tempura - it has one shrimp and the rest are imitation crab and a fried piece of lettuce that is so greasy. The fish overall was alright.
Very disappointing experience. 😕 It felt like 90% of the sushi was just rice — way too much rice — with a tiny, thin slice of fish on top. The fish didn’t taste like good quality, and the rice was overly sweet and kept falling apart when I picked up the sushi. I also ordered a California roll and a hand roll, and both were disappointing as well. For the entire time I was there, no one refilled my water. For this price, you can easily buy rolls separately and enjoy them more, or try one of the better all-you-can-eat spots in NYC
I really really recommend you to AVOID this place. We came here because the review was good and am so glad we did not do the all you can eat option.. The whole place just screamed scam. The choices were so few with many odd choices comprised of purely cheap materials. (Fake crab meat, avocado hand roll with just avocado and rice???). I feel sorry for you if you chose the all you can eat option instead. We ended up ordering a small number of items so we could get the check, cutting our losses, and leave to dine in another restaurant. Still wasted too much money for the items we did order. Their chicken karaage was the worst, and strangest we've ever had. It was seemingly made with slices of chicken breast????? And costs $7 for two thin slices? And so many reviews raved about it. Unbeliable. Also, $3-4 for a SINGLE piece of sushi... With fish of mediocre quality at best...( Most other places servers 2pc per plate ) The menu is definitely created for cheap all you can eat package, charging premium price. When I tried to leave a review after, I understood why. The option was temporarily turned off because of many suspiciously inflated positive review getting posted. Had to wait few weeks to post this review... I have never experienced this before with a restaurant. The fact I was willing to wait, check in every once in a while to find out if can leave the review yet, shows how bad of an experience I've had here. Please avoid this place at all cost.
The sushi to rice ratio is absurd! even for an ayce spot. Look at the pictures! I saw some bad reviews but the all the 5 star reviews changed my mind. I feel bad for the people working here, it’s not their fault. They put 1 thin slice in a hand roll! That’s blatant disrespect. The worst ayce sushi spot I’ve ever been to. Come here if you want to eat a lot of rice
