Opinions de Cloud Social Broadway
Amazing location. Great views of the Empire State Building and close enough to wait at if others want to go up. Drinks are strong. There’s heat lamps for the winter.
The drinks are awesome. The Irish new fashion is a refreshing twist on the classic. The staff are friendly and attentive and it’s a great place to cool off in the summer. A definite must if your in the area.
Myself and a party of 9 went to Cloud Social without a reservation last Sunday at around 6pm (bad idea, I know) but we snagged a corner table! We had a charcuterie board and a round of drinks + a bottle of soju. The waitress we had was friendly and attentive, and our food and drinks was brought out in a timely manner. Would definitely love to come back and try more of their drinks!
Great bar for a group! Frank could reserve me a table for 10 people, and when it rained we could have also a table under the roof. Very good drinks, nice view, the music is not too loud, it was not too crowded. I loved it!
Happy hour should be every hour everyday!!!!!!!!! On a side note Chris was amazing and so were the girls! Great cocktails 🥰🗽♥️ and a panoramic view to accompany the beverages. We had a wonderful time😊
Amazing experience with my bar tender Georgi and Irena was the best server I have ever had, between the both of them, I would recommend coming here. Never felt like a king before I came here. 5 star service, 5 star on drinks, and 5 star on the view!!!!
Pretty good, intimate spot. Good place to pre-game or just chill. We came here on a perfect Summer Saturday night and got a couple of pitchers of margaritas ($45 each - standard NYC prices). Half of it is "indoor" and the other half is outdoor, with the ESB looming over you. Have been here in more than 3 occasions; it doesn't disappoint.
The best view of empire states. Underrated, you don't have to worry about a million tourists hoarding the place. You can have nice drinks and a chill place to enjoy company and the view. Definitely check it out.
This was in unexpectedly cute place. Came here with a group of 10 to 12 for a celebration. Has a covered rooftop bar (which helps since I went on a rainy night). Music was good, but if you’re getting old like I am, you’ll appreciate that you can still hear people you are talking to. Drinks were standard.
Small rooftop, but it's got a close up look of the Empire State Building, and comfy seats if you get there before they fill up. Drink specials tend to be pretty tasty, and often you won't have to go to the bar yourself depending on the time of day.
I love it here. The outdoors view is amazing, you're up at the top of Times Square. The indoor decor is upscale and beautifully done. Everything seems to be done right. It's classy, chic, and the place has great vibes all around. There's plenty of places to sit and relax and the bartenders are very friendly and got to us right away. I went with Ballast Point Sculpin, which at $7 is a good price for a bar, let alone a rooftop lounge. It's an expensive beer to begin with, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu at that price. This is instantly one of my go-to spots when I want a special night out. I know I'll be back to enjoy it again and introduce friends to it soon. Very soon.
This venue is a bit small so there was a wait getting in. Once there the service was adequate. The location is very cool being right under the Empire State Building. The drinks and cocktails are a bit pricey but they were very good and that's what to expect in NYC.
A cozy spot a little over a dozen stories up, but gives a decent view of the city and a really cool smack-dab frontal view of the ESB. It drizzled a bit that day but the vibe managed to retain the intimacy and the plexiglass roof kept everyone dry. Not sure if they serve cocktails before a certain time since our menu consisted only of beers and wines. Wish they had a bit more food options, but the pizzas were tasty!
100% should be on your weekend bucket list. It’s so nice once you go inside, the pink neon lights at the right time of sunset and night is most certainly an experience 😍 and with their elegant and tasty cocktails you can melt 🫠 away into their awesome playlist that bumps till they close. They have trend and vibe and in the winter, wether u chose indoor or outdoor seating, you can guarantee to be warm cuz HEATERS baby 🔥 I love this place and I’m certain you will toooo😊
Love this rooftop bar, which is somewhat hidden in the neon and crowds of Koreatown. The drinks are reasonably priced, especially during happy hour. And you get a great view of the Empire State Building!
We were here two times during our vacation, it’s very central and it’s got a great view at the Empire State Building. The staff was incredibly friendly and nice! The drinks are really tasty and reasonable priced. All in all a great experience would 100% recommend.
The elevator does take a while and the hotel has become a migrant hotel, but the rooftop bar is very nice and such a vibe. It was a cool night and it was comfortable to be outside. We did have to order at the bar and take it to our table, but it was not crowded at all so it wasn’t a big deal! The bartenders were attentive! Since people are swayed by the hotel with a bunch of kids and families, this rooftop is a great spot to catch up with friends and not be super crowded
I've been coming here since 2014 and am beyond thankful that they're still around. I came here again a few months ago and while I was surprised to see that the hotel had become also housing for lower income families, I was still happy to see that cloud social was still there. The staff were friendly as always, the drinks were perfect and the view was still awesome. The manager on duty told me that the hotel had to shift to housing during the pandemic since they had little to no help from the city and it was either do that or close shop. No issues there since the bar was still awesome..... I will admit that the increased ceiling space meant fewer views of the empire state building but I get it since rain amounts had increased year of over year. Thank you as always cloud social for awesome service, awesome drinks and awesome views.... see ya'll again real soon.
Great find! Great view, friendly staff, amazing happy hour specials (esp for this area and being a rooftop), and has space for indoor and outdoor lounging. Good for small groups, too. *UPDATE 2022* (5? years later) So glad to be back to this lovely spot, a nice rooftop bar --much of it covered, if/when necessary-- and I love the flowering vines . Great view of the Empire State bldg, and nice view of the July 4th fireworks on the East River.
Love the happy hour of this place and truly a great place to close the summer and welcome the fall. Drinks are good and cheap (considering location). Honestly don't know many rooftop bars that does happy hour and this is one of them. Has a decent view of the Empire State Building even if it's really close (probably won't get a great picture because of how close it is). Staff is friendly and attentive and doesn't get too crowded!
Cloud Social is a casual, chill rooftop bar at the top of the Nyma Hotel in Koreatown and right under the Empire State Building. The rooftop is open all year long with heaters in the winter and gorgeous floral decorations and string lights in the summer. Cloud features both an open air rooftop along with a covered portion making it the perfect spot rain or shine! It’s a great spot for a drink and bite with friends, a date night, or an event or special occasion. Their bar snacks include a variety of pizzas and Cloud’s cocktail menu is extensive. I recommend the rum punch!
A great place to be, nice ambience and great drinks!! Staff is also very polite and will assist you with everything. A great view from the (so called) VIP section. It's on 17 floor, not too high for NYC but overall it's a great place. Decently priced. They have 3 different sections, one which is in the open with no glass roof (smoking zone), second one is with the covered glass roof with plastic sheets on side, great when it rains, third one is glass covered on top but open from side (VIP big table)
This is literally a hidden gem in the heart of the Korea town. Korea town is one of my favorite places and I didn’t know about here until now and I’m so glad that I found out. Cocktails were really really good. Unfortunately they do not have a good section of appetizers or any food ,I wish they would. The place looks so amazing and friendly. Service was very nice as well! This will be my go to rooftop when I’m around the Korea toen for sure. If you never been there, you definitely should!
One of my favorite rooftop bars. Unique view of the Empire State Building under a water tower. This place also seems to be less busy then a lot of other rooftop bars. Extreamly slow elevator... maybe that keeps more people away. 😁 Decent drinks as well. Great spot to have a drink before dinner in k-town.
Small pub, but crowded, music not too loud, is very good if you would like to talk to your friends. Drinks are reasonably price and selection is not bad. There is a smoking section, this is quite rare in New York City, it's the best option else you can smoke only on busy, noisy, smelly road side .
Nice rooftop with lots of sunlight and great views. Service was a bit slow when I went despite the bar being well-staffed, but I’ll blame that on the private event that was going on. Drinks were delicious, but on the pricier side.
nice rooftop for private parties... the drinks are OK, but pizza, especially pepperony is way overdone. the staff is friendly and efficient, although too busy during the private events. good vibes otherwise.
This bar has a wonderful feel to. Great live jazz music and really tasty drinks. I'm definitely going to be bringing more of my friends back the next time I come around. Really happy to have found it.
Comfortable Rooftop bar with specialized, varied cocktails, a friendly outdoor seating layout, and a front + center view of the Empire State Building. $14 a cocktail. 4/5 stars as a rooftop.
The ambiance is nice and the outdoor terrace overlooking Times Square is a great place to relax from the hustle and bustle of the area. I had the Strawberry and Cream bites, which wasn't great (the pound cake was too dense), and it was strange that she had me prepay for it before I even got it, with 18% gratuity automatically included.
The most disorganized system for seating, but still a nice rooftop option. They don’t take names or phone #’s down if you’re waiting for a table, so it’s kind of a free-for-all. Otherwise, the drinks were great (with some good cocktail options), service was decent, views were excellent and overall it was a good experience. Recommended.
It was a decent rooftop bar experience, not close to the best in NYC. The view is somewhat covered by a plastic roof, but you can get a good view of the some beautiful skyscrapers. Drinks are a little on the pricey end.
The view was awesome. I truly appreciated the heated top with the drop in temperature. The only thing was the atmosphere was more of an after work crowd. Not the party or hip hop type that I prefer. It was clean and the waitress was attentive.
Great for our larger group. Appreciated being outside with COVID , heaters are provided and there is a covered area if needed. The drinks were good but the food menu is very limited, we would have liked a few more options for snacks/appetizers
Went here with some friends for drinks in the early evening. The service was alright, rather slow. It toke a while to get our order and the drinks were pretty okay. The place does earns its points with the view and the Empire State Building lurking over you. The overall sphere was still nice and cozy. This is a good recommendation for a casual rooftop bar.
DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU'RE HUNGRY. The environment is nice, small, and cozy. The only options for food are chips with salsa, hummus or flatbread pizza. This place is more for drinking and socializing. Service may be a little slow but cute place.
Pretty good views and excellent drinks! Could only imagine how great it’d be in the warmer months without tents - worth the stop when everything else was full, but not necessarily as posh or lively as other rooftops nearby.
The drinks are good and everything tastes great but it heavily relies on that and the view. Other than that the place is completely just loaded up with chairs and tables so much so that it's impossible to move around without having to move a chair or table. Dont buy food here either, they give will happily give you a frozen pizza for 17$. If you wanna have a drink and look at the empire state building its pretty okay, however theres a lot of issues with the this tiny rooftop bar.
Beautiful place, but it’s horribly kept. I seen 3 managers not one said hi. The inside and outside had napkins and plastic everywhere. I walked in looking lost well because I was and no one bothered to help me. Mind you there’s 20+ people on the floor and only two tables. The place was empty. My bartender was really nice tho! The wine selection is decent. As far the food, I didn’t even bother.
The drinks are good and the view is ok. What is not *at all* okay is the $17 cheese board made of store brand crackers and sliced deli cheese. The sheer audacity to serve food of such poor quality for that price would've been funny if it wasn't so tragic. Everything here is overpriced but this was ridiculous. I could've built a better cheese plate at my local Bodega. Just take it off the menu at that point. I also had a very weird experience while I was trying to use their restroom....staff came by with a bucket and started pouring it on the ground outside the door, and dirty water started flowing into the room while I was inside. Said something about disinfection. (?) Sir, why don't you just close off the bathroom? (I know the answer to that, actually - this place has a capacity of 120 and only two single-room bathrooms. You can do the math.) Speaking of math, be aware that they add an 18% service charge tucked way up in the middle of the check and then prominently display the "total" lower down by where they ask you for a tip. Can't imagine how much money they make off of their inebriated guests off of that.
Good for a quick rooftop experience. Nice picture set up. Part of the ceiling is plexiglass, which is a plus, and personnel is VERY ATTENTIVE. I think customer service was best out of everything! You can see the empire state right on top of you. Cons: limited food options and space, seating feels over crowded.
The cocktails are not good. Good for small group to hangout but not worth spending 13$ for few pieces of nacho chips. Overpriced drinks. Not worth trying for first time also. No rooftop view.
Taking the elevator up to this location is one of the biggest pains, we waited for probably 20 minutes and we had to shove into an elevator with 10 other people after being told multiple times we needed to wait (even though we were at the front of the line). Once on the roof, we ordered the chips, guac, and salsa, and they were extremely sub-par. The chips were stale, the guac was slimy and flavorless, and the salsa was literally picante from the jar. The one redeeming factor was the drinks, they were fun and tasty, and the staff was kind! However, I wouldn’t suggest going here.
Only good thing about this place that it's on the roof. The food is sub. The drinks are sub. Service was sub. The elevator to the roof has no air and is extremely slow. *They include tip on your receipt so watch out for that*.
The bars blocked the view that was almost good. Paid $13 for the smallest plate of chips, salsa and guac which was not appreciated at all. Bf’s drink wasn’t a drink it was juice. Can’t complain about mine. But it could have been potentially 3 stars if the food wasn’t gouging you of your money. Service was the best part of it. But it still wasn’t that great. Go elsewhere and beware.
I had a poor experience visiting Cloud Social. It took ages for me to actually get up to the rooftop (FL17) as there was only one working elevator. The hotel the bar is situated in is a dump - for that reason alone I would avoid. I realize I'm not visiting at the peak of the season (rooftop in winter) but the place is a dive charging champagne prices. The bartender charged me more than the menu cost of a drink ($17 vs $15) and balked when I asked for a receipt. A few upsides - hardly anyone was in the bar, and my drink was tasty. But this is such a low-rent place that I would be embarrassed to take someone here. If the drinks were cheap, that would be one thing, but they're not. I wouldn't recommend.
This place does not look like the pictures at all, like where are the lounge chairs and everything? It was regular metal tables and chairs. Update your pictures - do not mislead people. Drinks were decent but the menus themselves are the regular book ones and thus are not COVID safe. The music was very quiet and seemingly shut off at times. There are literally like 5 items on the food menu. I will say though that the heaters were warm enough to sit comfortably, which was nice and the reason for the second star. Note we also got warm drinks and you should still wear a jacket of course because it's winter and windy.
This place has so much potential because the rooftop is really nice but the cocktails aren’t that good, they don’t have enough heaters, the waiter was pretty much ignoring us and when we asked about the happy hour that they say is still going on in google maps he said they didn’t have it without any reason, not to mention they literally sold us grocery store hummus and chips...
This was our second rooftop bar of the night on our last night in NYC. The drinks were ok, served in plastic cups which kind of ruined the ambiance. The real tragedy was the food. We ordered the $17 cheese board and the $17 mushroom truffle pizza. Firstly, they brought us PAPER plates to eat off of, which is... questionable. The pizza showed up and it looked like something made from an easy bake oven. It was cold, cardboard like and tasteless. The cheese board came and it looked like a Costco special, maybe not even a special. It is honestly baffling how a place can charge that much for frozen food items that poor in quality. Lastly, the server failed to mention the gratuity had already been included in our bill, so we left an additional tip for an already negative experience. Save your money and scope out alternative rooftop bars as the view and ambiance were not worth the money.
Easily the most disappointing part of my trip (although Danielle, our server, did a good job for us). The best parts were the view, and that the heaters worked. That's it. The rest was very terrible. We ordered chips and guacamole ($13). We we're impressed with the paper plate it came on... Similarly, the guacamole tasted even worse than it looked, and it looked pretty bad. The chips we definitely the cheapest bag at the grocery store. Last but not least, most everything on the happy hour menu wasn't even available.
They have a sign downstairs advertising a happy hour. When you go upstairs the waitresses let you know that they actually don't have the special. From their reaction, I think they're used to getting push back on the issue. The staff are friendly and the location is nice - but I won't be back solely because of the false advertising.
The hotel this bar is at is currently being used as a migrant center - going to this bar was just an overall weird and unfortunate experience. Awful service, with a deceptive bill. The rooftop is 75% covered, which makes it musty and overly hot. The outdoor portion of the rooftop is open to smoking (probably illegal being on a roof). The elevators are slow, hot and cramped.
Terrible service. There are open seats in the back but they insisted it was for bigger parties and needed reservations. 18% tip is included in your bill which is why servers don't care. Also the bill tricks you into tipping on top of that 18% if you don't pay attention. I've been to many rooftop bars and this one has the worst view of all of them. Literally go to any other one. This one makes it feels like you are in jail with those high bars.
We should have turned back as soon as we stepped foot in the hotel. On the 17th floor, there was the rooftop which did not look like the pictures AT ALL. A VERY disappointing terrace. To finish this terrible experience the waiter gave himself a tip and when we asked him about it he first said it was tax and then repeating that tipping is mandatory. We knew it wasn’t and asked him to take it off as we didn’t want to tip but he continued to fight us telling us it was obligatory. We’ve been in New York for a week and know the difference between tax and tip, and we’ve always been asked how much we want to tip or if we want too. We ended up paying. Please avoid this place at all cost ! Especially if you’re a tourist as the accent may make them think that you’re stupid !
Has potential but was on top of a pretty run down building. The ride up to the 17th floor was painfully long and packed with residents of the building. The bar was empty on a Thurs night at 7pm, so we left immediately for Pocha 32 across the street. Sitting here now having a blast 🍍
Pros: -Staff is friendly -Not a bad view. You can see the Empire State (VERY close up), World Trade and Chrysler building at this spot -Outdoor space heaters! Cons: -Although the staff is friendly, they are inattentive. I had to constantly go to the bar to get water and ask for another drink even though there were only like 4 other people in the place -Drinks aren’t that great -Food isn’t tasty and seems to be store bought (Me and my friends actually left and went elsewhere for food as we were unsatisfied with what we had there) -The “hotel” that this place is housed in is now being used as a shelter. So although there were no issues with that, the allure of coming to a hotel rooftop to enjoy drinks isn’t all that alluring when others below you and those whom you see in the elevator are homeless
Avoid at all cost. Hotel has now been turned into a migrant shelter, which is fine, good for them, but the experience of getting there—we waited over 25 mins for the elevator and then was packed with like 20 other people (none who was going to the terrace). Went there and rooftop was extremely deteriorated so we decided to leave. Took the stairs just to be told by security on the second floor we had to wait once again for the elevator. It’s literally a shelter throughout all floors and not a pleasant atmosphere—sad, rather.
Waitress seat us down and forgot about us for over fifteen minutes. I was waving my hands around, but the waitresses looked at me and then turned around MULTIPLE times. One of them went to take a seat even though she (blond curly hair) saw me and some of them were talking to other employees. They asked for my cc to hold the table and I told them I am going to pay in cash later. The waitress said ok. Well they charged me on my card anyways And they charged me 15% gratuity fee. I don't want to pay you 15% and I am supposed to decide how much I want to tip you. Drinks were pretty. That's about it.
