We loved it! This was our first experience with Korean BBQ and it will not be our last, hopefully. My husband and I were on vacation just a few days ago in NYC and this was on his bucket list. Staff was so friendly and informative and ready to help newbies. Food was great! We had Pork. Thank you Jongro.

Delicious food in a very cool environment complete with K pop. Meat was amazingly fresh and the seasonings were perfect. The beer list is very limited, and be prepared to argue with your server about what you want. Ours contradicted us on every decision- "no, you don't want that, you want this" - that was the worst part about the place. The beer selection was non-existent. But as far as flavor goes, they nailed it. Will be coming back and be forceful about what I want next time!

We were in the area at lunchtime & decided to find a Korean restaurant. We found Jongro BBQ and were very happy we did! When the elevator opened at 2nd floor, we immediately were transported to a “Korean food camp” sort of layout. The aroma was a telltale of great flavors yet to be enjoyed! They were very helpful & seeing that we did not immediately start grilling meat at our table, the server came over & placed some beef on the grill, cooking quickly! The cooked meat tasted so delicious being off the fire for mere seconds! This is the way to enjoy Korean grilled meats! Next time, we’ll come with more people & more time to enjoy the ambiance & fantastic flavors! Vote Jongro BBQ for the WIN!!!

Found this place looking for good Korean BBQ restaurants and so glad I did! The atmosphere is awesome, the staff is friendly and the food is delicious! We went on a Saturday evening and only had to wait about 20 min for a table. I love the decor of this place! It kind of feels like you’re in a street food market. There’s plenty of space between the tables and there’s sufficient ventilation so the place isn’t all smokey. There was just 2 of us so we ordered the standard meat plate and the marinated kalbi. We also got the beef tartare with egg as an appetizer. The beef tartare was good but the portion size was huge. It was a little too rich so we weren’t able to quite finish it. The sides they provided with the meal were all fresh and delicious! The kimchee was really good as was the bean sprouts mixed with hot sauce. My favorite side was the macaroni salad. On to the meats… the whole reason to go. All of the cuts of meat were so delicious! The server we had that was preparing the meats for us did a remarkable job. My favorite thing was dipping the meat in their house made gojuchang sauce! It was the best I’ve ever had! My favorite cuts of meat were the sirloin and the marinated kalbi! Their house marinade is so delicious! Definitely make sure to order that one! As far as drinks go I’d recommend the frozen strawberry bomb! Dangerously delicious! There were so many other cuts of meat that we wanted to try so we will definitely be back soon!

Don’t forget to stop over at Koreatown if you’re heading into NYC. This place doesn’t disappoint. The marinated meat platter is everything you’re looking for. Tender, delicious and mouth watering. Love that the waiters are courteous, attentive and cook the bbq for you perfectly. We got seated and served quickly. The egg omelette that is cooked over a separate burner is absolutely delicious! The side dishes are fresh tasting as are the sauces. I will come back to this place anytime I visit!

When it comes to celebrating with friends over Korean BBQ, Jongro in Koreatown is my top choice. Jongro spans two floors, but I always opt for the 5th floor over the 2nd. However, they typically direct you to the 2nd floor unless you specifically request the 5th. This time, I tried their marinated meat option, and it was fantastic. The 5th floor offers a delightful bonus: free corn and cheese sides, which are absolutely fabulous. And if you’re a corn lover like me, you can always order more! In terms of pricing, Jongro is definitely more economical with a larger group. I wouldn’t recommend going with a smaller group due to the higher costs. On a lighter note, take a look at the last picture. I adore their chopstick packaging that reads “listen to the woman”—HELL YES! Extra points for that!

This has got to be the spot for KBBQ when in New York and you want a lively good time with friends. We came as a large group without a reservation and though they were packed we were seated fairly quickly. Inside the shop is reminiscent of kbbq places in Seoul and the atmosphere is lively. Food wise it’s a dream. They have lots of amazing cuts of beef pork and other meats as well as soups and side dishes to pair. The staff will cook the meat for you which is always a plus as everything comes out perfect. Grab your friends, order some soju and stop by!

Jongro BBQ is on the second floor of a building in Korea Town. Not impressive when you walk into the lobby of the building, but coming out of the second floor is a pleasant surprise. You walk into a food hall type of atmosphere with wooden benches and multiple tables, all equipped for Korean BBQ. The environment was lively and the table is quickly set with the usual accompaniments (think kimchi, lettuce, picked onions, etc...) We ordered the beef platter with 4 types of beef and added the pork belly. The strip steak and rib were my favorite. Excellent option in Ktown, with quality meat and a fun ambiance to bring out of town guests. Location - 8 Service - 9 Quality - 10 Ambiance - 9

I’ve heard of this place and we always wanted to visit it. It was really worth it. The food is excellent and the experience of preparing your own bbq is very funny and entertaining. The service was outstanding thanks to Davi.

Great place to hang and eat. Love the Korean downtown theme, it is really well elaborated. It’s located in the 5th floor and has plenty of seatings. The Service is great, food is good and price extremely competitive for the area. Nothing but polite and great people around. The waiting time is really good, even in weekends. Will Def recommend this place and surely comeback.

Weekday lunch indoors on the 2nd floor. Had the beef short rib + spicy tofu soup combo. Immediately served banchan and asked if I wanted more when I finished it. Short rib had the delicious marinated flavor I was looking for. Happy I had a large container of water to myself. Only criticism might be it didn't seem to be a the highest cut meat, but given how tasty it was, the service, and $17 - - no real complaints.

The best Korean BBQ in Koreatown NYC! So many choices of beef and bbq. We ordered marinated Kalbi and the mushrooms. So tender. I topped it off with a cold green tea noodle soup. The service never misses a beat. They can turn tables like nobody.

Family of 4 We ordered large beef combinations platter with few meal . It’s a lot of food but we still finished it , they marinate so flavorful , grilled with Soju the best .

Jongro BBQ is the perfect mix of authentic vibes and seriously good food — feels like a late-night spot straight out of Seoul. The vintage decor, lively atmosphere, and charcoal grill at the table set the tone for a fun, no-fuss feast. We went all in on the marinated galbi (10/10 recommend), and every bite was smoky, juicy, and packed with flavor. The banchan was fresh, the kimchi stew hit just right, and the staff kept things moving even when it was busy. It’s not fancy — but that’s the point. Come hungry, bring friends, and prepare to leave smelling like BBQ and happiness.

Food and service was excellent! I dined here during lunchtime on a weekday, and it was not busy. Food was not only excellent, but a great value. Service was very attentive. The decor/ambiance in the restaurant was very nice. It was a little hard to find the restaurant since it is not on ground level. You have to take an elevator to the second floor. The entrance is to the left of the Citi Bank.

Is for me top 3 in nyc for a delicious Korean BBQ. It’s best to come with minimum 3 people so you can taste different things and not be stuffed. Staff is fast and alert and I always have great service. One of my favorites for sure. Second floor is the original location. Not a good spot for a romantic dinner because it is loud and fast paced. You come here for the food!

Delicious meats. Good portions. The server prepared the meat at the table side leaving the patrons relaxed and able to enjoy the food and conversation with their party. Yummy side dishes. Great service. Cozy atmosphere.

Been here many times, and it’s still one of my go-to KBBQ spots. The retro interior can accommodate large groups. It can get a bit loud inside, but we always have a good time. The food and service are consistently up to their usual standard.

overall such a great experience, and glad we had assistance cooking some of the cuts of meat that we didn’t usually eat at previous kbbq experiences. the meat tasted delicious. i didn’t really eat a lot of the side dishes, but the steamed egg was perfection - my favorite steamed egg i’ve had.

Came on Easter Sunday around 5 pm. The hostess informed us that they just opened the fifth floor and there was no wait, so we were seated immediately. Beef platter 1 on the menu says it's for 2-3 people and it was more than enough for my friend and I. We were really full by the end of the meal! That said, they did give us the egg stew and the beef intestines on the house! So even more food. My fav was the prime rib, it was so thick and juicy. I ordered a bowl of white rice because I'm Hispanic AF and I eat meat without rice lol. The waiter knew I was kinda lost regarding how to eat everything so she was very kind and helpful. Informing me what's spicy and how to combine the foods! I really liked that and it made me wanna come back. Most KBBQ's I'm a little shy to ask but here I felt welcomed to. Overall, the food was delicious and the restaurant atmosphere is dope.

Jongro BBQ is an absolute gem for anyone seeking an authentic Korean barbecue experience. The quality of the meat is exceptional, with every cut tender and bursting with flavor. The extensive menu offers a delightful variety, from classic bulgogi to more adventurous options like pork belly and marinated short ribs. Each dish is prepared to perfection, ensuring a memorable dining experience. The ambiance is inviting and lively, capturing the essence of a bustling Korean BBQ house. The attentive and friendly staff elevate the experience, always ready to assist with grilling and offering insightful recommendations. Additionally, the side dishes are plentiful and delicious, perfectly complementing the main courses. Overall, Jongro BBQ delivers an outstanding dining adventure that leaves you eagerly planning your next visit. Highly recommended for both Korean BBQ enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

Amazing venue, as soon as you walk in you know you're gonna get some top notch food and treatment, and it didn't disappoint. We ordered pork belly and beef tenderloin and the staff helped us cook it, getting the right temperature for the meats. While they were lacking Banchan (we only got kim chi and mac salad) the experience and taste were so overwhelmingly good.

There's no other place like this! My party of 5 was very simple and decided on a platter. All the meat we had was absolutely delicious and melted in my mouth. I don't even like meat and I enjoyed it here. I came from out of NYC and I find myself looking for some place like this back where I live, but it's not possible. This place is way way up there for me. Highly recommended. Everything was in great quality so it justified the price. Service was pretty good as well.

Best Korean BBQ in NYC! Everything is very delicious and there are many vegetarian options. The BBQ beef and sides are delicious; particularly love the steamed egg and seafood pancakes. Great for big groups of people. This place is very popular but there are multiple floors so lines aren’t too long even on weekends.

Excellent Korean BBQ in the city! Tried to eat here a while ago, but the wait was long so we decided to try somewhere else. Today was the day and boy was it worth it. We came at 6pm on a Monday so there was no wait and we were seated right away. We ordered the pork platter, marinated kalbi and the seafood pancake. The pancake was crispy and bursting with flavors. The meats were cooked in front of us and were melt in your mouth delicious. I recommend reservations though cuz when we left at around 730pm there was a long line in the front. Just remember that your clothes will smell like the BBQ.

I recently visited Jongro BBQ and as usual, had a great experience. The food was of very good quality, with fresh, tasty meats such as short ribs and tongue, and a variety of authentic sides. Despite being busy on a Saturday night, we were seated quickly due to reservations. Service was efficient, with helpful suggestions and refills on our drinks without asking. The only downside was the strong smoky BBQ smell but I know that's unavoidable with BBQ. Overall, Jongro BBQ offers great food, a lively atmosphere, and attentive service. This is my go-to place for Korean BBQ in Koreatown and I will definitely be back!

This restaurant is located on the upper floor of the building, and you need to go check in with the host first. Luckily, we went quite late ,so the wait was not very long. Having been to South Korea before, the restaurant has the same atmospheric vibe as those in Korea! The food was absolutely delicious, and we loved everything from here. The quality of meat was top-notch, and the side dishes and sauces were delicious as well. They have an excellent selection of alcoholic beverages. This place is one of our MUST-VISITS whenever we go to NYC.

This is one of my favorite restaurants EVER! The food is consistently amazing. This last time I went (I’ve been 5 times now), I told them about my gluten allergy and my waitress made me my own section of the table with gluten-free items. It was wonderful, and so delicious! I love it here and I’ll keep coming back. I usually order the beef platter, but this time we did the beef AND pork platter. 11/10.

Loved it here! The staff cooks cooks the food for you and brings everything that you need. I had the marinated chicken and the marinated beef platters. The meat was delicious, and the sides were just as good. The party loved the corn. I would definitely recommend this kbbq spot to a friend.

Very good Korean BBQ restaurant in Korea Town ! The restaurant is big, there are many tables and seating available and there’s a nice vibe. We always come here when we visit nyc!! Such good service they cook everything for you. You have to go to the second floor, and get the marinated combo. But you couldn’t go wrong with which ever option. Truly delicious and worth the price.

My favorite BBQ location. The brisket, skirt steak and house sauce was the best. The service was amazing and they honor your dietary restrictions and allergies. Lots of sides. They cook in front of you and make you happy. It goes fast and u recommend taking the meat off the stove quick. The rice is a good pairing.. The tofu spicy soup is really spicy. I really liked all the sauces and the house dressing.. The quality of meat is very high. Ambiance is good. Full to come with a group or on a date.

Say hello to the person sitting in the building lobby and take the elevator to the second floor. It's like a whole new world once the elevator door opens. We came for the beef tartar. Got two for the four of us. Could have gotten another. It was very good! They cooked the KBBQ the meat for us. The grease was splatting all around so cover up! We ordered a bunch of meats I wish I could name but I don't know them LOL everything was cooked nicely. We enjoyed our meal. Will come back again next time we're in NY

It's so worth trying this place out. We had to wait a bit to be served because it was busy. The food was amazing and fresh, understandable why it's on the pricier end. We were surprised that the server cooks the meet for us, which we are very glad they did. They know how long to cook the meat to reach the best texture and tenderness. It was the overall experience here that I love. Combining different side dishes and eating them together was so fun and delicious. All the servers were kind and professional, and they were also low-key attractive. I really want to return when I visit again. Note: I think we had some sort of beef platter and it came with a bunch of side dishes. We also ordered a side of pancake. This was for a party of 3. Each of us spent probably around $50. We weren't stuffed but the portion was still perfect.

The food was so good! The waiters were nice enough and made good recommendations for my friend and I who came to dine. We got this soup dish that comes with many sides and rice included. It was enough food for 2 girls. Satisfied my craving for Korean food! Still thinking about the food & Will definitely be back!

Amazing Korean bbq experience in NYC. Fresh meats, the steamed eggs were amazing, and the cheese corn was yummy. The banchan was mid, serving pickled radish (which was yummy), kimchi (a bit too sour), and macaroni salad (never had this served as banchan). Would have preferred more standard banchan like spinach, bean sprouts, sweetened potatoes, and other options, but it’s OK. The meats were the best! Particularly their sets as you get a variety and they cook it for you. I’d suggest to take it off the grill when they say it’s done to prevent overcooking. Get there as a full party or they won’t seat you. Entrance is ground floor into elevators to 2. Great atmosphere! Service is amazing. Would come again!

This was hands down the best meal of our trip to New York! The atmosphere was lively, and while the space was a bit noisy, the unique decor transported us to a vintage Korean village—such a charming vibe. We ordered the daechong and beef tongue, both of which were absolutely delicious. The side dishes were flavorful and generously portioned. The highlight, though, was the spicy tofu soup—easily the best I’ve ever had! Our server was incredibly quick, friendly, and attentive, making the entire experience top-notch. We’ll definitely be coming back here on our next trip!

We always look for Korean BBQ restaurant when we are at New York City. That street has a lot of Korean restaurants to choose from. Some of them even have Karaoke too 🥳 Jongro BBQ is a very busy restaurant. We suggest you to make a reservation. We went to Level 2, but they also have Level 5 in the same building. We don't know what is the difference, but you need to wait 45 mins more than Level 2. The atmosphere was very cool. You feel like you are on a street of Korea. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. It is definitely family friendly. Great for friends, family gatherings, or happy hours. The service was excellent and fast. The food was amazing and fresh. We will definitely go back next time when we are at New York City. We have already recommended others. We gave them 10 out of 10 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Happy valentine's! Saw a Broadway show then walked to Jongro BBQ in k town, Manhattan NYC for dinner. Wait list was 10 minutes. Phenomenal service. Did marinated meat platter with spicy tofu soup and soju flight. Bon chon was good but few selections compared to non bbq restaurants. Been here 4x. Join the free rewards club.

Jongro is exceptional dining experience. The beef is incredibly tender, with each bite melting in your mouth, delivering rich, flavorful goodness. The highlight of the meal was definitely the steamed eggs—perfectly fluffy, savory, and creamy, making them a standout side dish. The overall quality of the meat and the flavors are fantastic, making it one of the best Korean BBQ spots in town!

The place was packed and we have to wait several minutes. The server was very nice and informative. The food is great and the prices are nice. They also serve side dishes to do alongside the beef. The server also cooks for us and cut the beef and serve it to us. Very well done. Though the room is a little bit smoky. I think they need to have better ventilation. Back in my country, they have a lot of kbbq inside malls and the smoke is very well contained. The bathroom is also very tiny I hit my hip by the door handle from going in and out of the bathroom and got bruised. Overall the food was great and taste delicious. Would recommend to a friend

On the second floor of a nondescript office building in Ktown. Loved the charming lively atmosphere with the wooden benches and industrial lightbulbs. Restaurant was still full during a late Saturday lunch, but wait was minimal. Banchan - simple pickled chili/onion, kimchi, macaroni plus fluffy steamed egg which is an amazing standout. Seafood sundubu - very delicious. Spice level cannot be adjusted and is a tad spicy. Seafood is fresh. Doesn’t have egg though. Galbi tang - not the best I’ve had but flavorful soup, with tender meat. Waitstaff Christian was very hardworking and efficient. Price reasonable, veering towards pricey but comparable to other Korean restaurants in the area. Hostess a little too strict. Saw others ordering a hunk of steak for the grill and it looked delicious.

We have been to this Korean BBQ restaurant at least 15 times over the past three years. It speaks volumes that we consistently bring our friends and family here. We love this place! It's very spacious, so there's rarely a line or wait time, even though it's located in the heart of Koreatown, NYC. They offer a great selection of meats and other Korean dishes, and we usually get the marinated beef. It's also worth noting how many sides they provide to accompany any platter you order. The service is always efficient and smooth. Last thing, but not least - music!!! I love their Korean music selection it really creates vide of dining somewhere in Soul

For a great Korean BBQ experience in k-town, Jongro is the spot. This restaurant has tons of space for parties of all sizes, so for large groups. Went with party size of 8-16 and we were able to be accommodated. The food was great, definitely suggest ordering the beef meat platter which comes with an additional side of entrails or intestines and cheesy corn. The seafood pancake is also a must. Some meats do come marinated but don’t need get them since there will be sauces and other things. Tofu stew is also delicious, but it is on the spicier side if you can’t handle spice wouldn’t recommend. Drinks are worth a try and staff were super friendly and food orders moves quickly. Limited photos, was super hungry, and didn’t take as many photos!

The best Korean barbecue I’ve had so far! We got the marinated pork short ribs between two people, and it was still a lot of food with all the side condiments that you get! We wanted to save room for dessert across the street. All the side condiments were very good as well, especially the egg. It was truly the fluffiest as described by others! I just wish the service was a little more on point, because they would just bring food to the table and not explain anything for what it was. I thought the egg that they brought out was a soup, I’m glad I didn’t drink it while it was raw. The place can be a little smoky as you first walk in, but you get used to it. It’s not too bad. There’s also a wait, even after you come upstairs. I would return and highly recommend to others!

Couple of hungry hippos in this dinner party today! Bark bark. Jongro aka Jongbro because it felt like everyone here was family. The classic saying “when you’re here your family” applies to this place. They probably can’t use that because I think it’s copyrighted or trademarked or whatever, I honestly never figured out the difference between those two. Comment if you know, too lazy to look it up. But we got the big meat plate with the LA Short Rib. Serving size was pretty accurate based on the menu. Also the dumplings and scallion flapjacks were v good. They had good beers too. No picture of the food unfortunately because we ate it all. My b fam. Enjoy

Jongro BBQ is a famous Korean BBQ spot located in the heart of Koreatown. The service was fast, efficient, bringing out all the dishes in a timely manner and serving them quickly. The staff were quick to explain their favorite dishes, and they checked in at regular intervals even if the place was busy. The meat quality is fresh and excellent, even with it's higher price point for KBBQ a-la carte. The banchan was unique, with fresh offerings as well as the Corn cheese which tasted great. The meat was seasoned and marinaded well, and tasted of high quality. Definitely a place to check out and eat, as it lives up to its hype.

The beef intestines here are quite good. The last time I came with four people, we couldn’t finish everything because it gets filling pretty quickly. The kimchi soup was decent, and my favorite dish was the steamed eggs. The service was good and stable, and the beef dish shown in the photo that I ordered was also very delicious.

Jongro BBQ offers exceptional quality and fresh meat selections. Please note that this establishment operates on an à la carte basis, allowing patrons to select individual cuts or curated meat packages. For a party of two, we opted for a meat package priced at $120, which included a soup and was perfectly portioned. Our meats are freshly cut daily. This location also provides complimentary side dishes, with unlimited refills available upon request. The service was exemplary. Staff members are readily available to assist with grilling, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The team is well-staffed and collaborative. For prompt assistance, a call button is conveniently located at each table. The cuisine was both fresh and delectable. I highly recommend this establishment. For your convenience, a complimentary coat check service is available to prevent clothing from absorbing cooking odors.

kbbq lovers need to check out jongro for top tier meat, fun vibes, and amazing service. the best part is their tuesday deal where you get 25% off your total order if you wear a red or white tracksuit because who doesn’t love a good deal. the meat quality here is seriously impressive, super fresh and tender with every bite. the servers are also incredibly attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. my fav side dishes were the cheese corn and steamed egg, both cooked on the side burner right next to you so you know it’s piping hot and fresh. they also offer a really solid lunch special with their pork cutlet, perfect if you want a great meal at a great price. don’t forget to check out their andong soju as well; it’s perfect for a night out with friends!

Jongro BBQ was an incredible experience and the perfect place for my first time trying Korean food. I went with my friend, Chef Tae Lee, who insisted this was one of the most authentic spots in the city — and he was absolutely right. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant had that lively, energetic atmosphere that makes Korean BBQ so fun and communal. We ordered one of the platters, and everything was exceptionally fresh and beautifully marbled. Cooking the food right in the middle of the table made the experience even more special — the aromas, the sizzle, and the whole interactive element made the meal feel exciting and immersive. The staff was helpful and attentive, guiding us through the process and making sure everything was cooked perfectly. The flavors were incredible. Each cut of meat was tender, juicy, and seasoned just right, and the side dishes added so much brightness and balance to the meal. You can tell they take real pride in serving truly authentic Korean BBQ, and it shows in every bite. For a first Korean meal, I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. Jongro BBQ delivered amazing food, great service, and an unforgettable dining experience. I can’t wait to come back and try even more dishes. Highly recommend!

Awesome K-BBQ experience in New York. I’m from La originally so my standards are high and this hit on almost all levels. Drinks were great with a wide selection of flavored sojus and beer. The meat itself was fantastic quality and taste, including a nice assortment of sauces and side dishes. Get a good bang for you buck compared to the other places in K-town and the service was fast and polite. Would definitely come back and with a good group of friends

Corn cheese and soup are Gluten Free and the pictured ban chon are GF. 3 of the 4 beef cuts on the large beef platter were GF (not the seafood pancake). The server knew exactly which items were GF and made sure I understood. So this elevates my experience over other Korean BBQ on the same street.

Yesterday, I went to Jongro Gopchang with a few coworkers. We had the Pork Platter with soju, and the old-fashioned dosirak. It really brought back memories of Korea before I moved NY. My coworkers loved the food and the vibe of this place. The waitress was super friendly, explained the meat and dishes even though she looked so busy, and handled all the tables.! Thanks for the great experience!

The best Korean restaurant in New York! Highly recommended — the food is absolutely delicious. The beef and pork are juicy and flavorful. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and they even help grill the meat for you, which makes dining so convenient. The atmosphere truly feels like being in Korea. The restaurant is located inside a building.

An extraordinary experience! Amazing, high quality meat, perfectly marinated! You can grill it yourself, but if you feel lazy, the friendly staff will cook it to perfection. Very nice dipping sauce and tasty bibimbap! Of course it is on the pricier side of NYC restaurants, but definitely worth it! I'd go there every day!

One of the top tier KBBQ spots in Ktown and the pricing is reflective of that. Been here a handful of times already, and the meats, cuts, and service is always excellent. Dont worry about cooking your food because they do that for you here. Just make sure to chew thoroughly. You’ll be spending a pretty penny here for sure, but it’s all worth it. Lines can get long on the weekends! They also have specials running here and there (see pics). All in all, a nice atmosphere when you walk through the elevators as it feels like you transformed to maybe South Korea?

We got there a little early and waited until the opening time of 11:30am to be seated. The staff were quick, efficient, and very professional. We got the beef short ribs gobdol & pork cutlet over rice from the lunch menu. The pork was a little tough but flavor was overall 10/10 for both dishes.

Jongro BBQ is an excellent spot for authentic Korean barbecue, offering a vibrant atmosphere and exceptional service that enhances the dining experience. The quality of the meat is top-notch, with options like pork belly and beef brisket that are flavorful and cooked to perfection right at your table. The side dishes (banchan) are diverse and complement the meal beautifully, adding a touch of homey authenticity. However, the gobchang (grilled intestines), while decent, felt a bit overrated compared to the rest of the menu. It lacked the distinct flavor and texture that usually makes gobchang a standout dish. That said, the overall experience at Jongro BBQ is fantastic, and it's definitely worth a visit for anyone craving high-quality Korean barbecue.

Great spot to come and share a meal with friends! I don’t expect a cute little inside city when I first when up the elevator, so that was a pleasant surprise. It was kind of noise and the servers seemed a little unorganized because we kept getting repeat questions. Otherwise, it was a very solid experience and I would go back.

Just ate here with my daughter and had a great meal. Please be aware that you can’t find the restaurant on street level, you have to enter the building and use the elevator. The Restaurant is large but the service is fast and excellent. We had the beef meal and let the staff grill everything for us. You get plenty of fun sides: kimchi, pickled onions, lettuce, grilled onions and dipping sauces. My one complaint (why they got 4 stars) is I ordered a side of pork belly for $37.99 and got two slices that they cut in half. The photo in the menu was for four whole slices so it felt a bit like I was short changed on the pork belly. Other than that, the food was great, the service was great and I had an enjoyable meal. Just be prepared because the meal isn’t cheap and was $200 for the two of us.

Great food and excellent service. Once you reach the restaurant you can ask the host to put you on the list. It take about 30 mins to get a table. We had the Marinated Chicken, compared to other Korean BBQ I felt the sides were limited. Everything tasted great. The egg was especially delicious. The staff help you cook and then cut the meat. We also had the Kimchi Stew. We like Kimchi so we enjoyed it. The green grape Soju was good too.

11.9.17 - Dinner with some gents at a place that has been around for some time, but it was my first time. The service is fast and responsive. The food quality is generally good and the BBQ station does a good job of taking the smoke away. I can't tell you what part of the beef or pork we ordered, except for the pork skin, and everything was cooked just right. You will need the condiments to add savoriness to the meet, but some of the beef comes pre-seasoned. The rice was also nice and fluffy, too, albeit in some parts it was on the moist side, which is what I prefer. If you arrive after 6 PM expect to wait at least 20-30 minutes to be seated. If you arrive before 5:45 you should get seated relatively quickly. I think we sat for about 1.5-2 hours and the place stayed packed the entire time. so it would behoove you to make a reservation or show up early. It's a good place for groups and generally priced well.

M
Mavin Shavin

I dined at this place with a group of six. The meal was decent overall, with the meat being average—not bad, but nothing exceptional either. It was a bit pricey, though that's typical for KBBQ. One downside was that the music was a little too loud, but the atmosphere was still fairly enjoyable. On the plus side, they were very attentive with refilling our water.

J
Joshua Dyer

Good idea for small or big groups. The staff was friendly and attentive. Good selection of beverages for all. There were a ton of fresh meat options to choose from. The waiter did a great job manning the grill, nothing was over cooked everything was cooked very well.

C
Chun Kit Chan

The restaurant nice. And it is quite expensive, because there are staff serving in the whole dinner, who cooks and barbecues the meat for the customers. The Korean bbq means lots of meat, so it may not fit everybody’s diet. There are some small dishes for the customers too, but I would say the onion is not popular, while I like the veggies much, and there is refilling if necessary. The barbecue experience is funny and I have taken some videos on that. The meat is delicious.

Hosted a birthday party here. There was 11 adults and 2 babies. It was 70 per adult minimum. Service was quick. However, the staff was a bit unfriendly (the man in the light blue shirt was nice though) and seemed annoyed when we asked for more lettuce or water. Food was delicious though. Would come back with smaller group or for a date. They did left us bring our own cake and provided us with a lighter.

Overall was a great place to check out. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, the vibe and of course the food. This place is always packed, so be sure to get there a little earlier than planned. I had the marinated beef platter and ordered a couple of soups and marinated chicken. The servers are always paying attention to your table to ensure that they cook the meats properly. I highly recommend this place to have a good hearty meal in a fun atmosphere.

Came here with a friend at 6:30pm on a Wednesday and was able to get a seat right away. Place got packed real quick and there is a strict 90min limit to enjoy your meal. We ordered the marinated beef platter and got a cocktail. The service is quick they bring the meats out and start cooking at your table right away. There's some side dishes and gyeranjim cooking on the side. All the side dishes tasted great but the portions and variety are pretty small. For instance you only get 4 green leaf lettuce at your table. Need much more for a 2-3 serving meal. Slightly disappointed it wasn't red leaf lettuce and kkaennip was nowhere to be found. Despite that, the beef was fabulous. Probably some of the best I've ever had. Not too sweet, seasoned perfectly, and sooooo tender. You almost didn't need anything with it even though they give you some sauces on the side. After our 90mins we went to the bar. A bit weird that a Korean bar offers no anju with their alcohol. However when I asked if we could get French fries, they were okay with us eating that at the bar. All the cocktails here were boozy and refreshing. The French fries were excellent. Super crispy and served piping hot with ketchup.

I feel like 3.5 is appropriate. The steak was good quality. The server worked hard to cook it for us, but was not communicative. The banchan was meh. And not enough of it. It was expensive. Wouldn’t be mad about going back but wouldn’t seek it out.

T

Was good, great that they have multiple floors. We got seated right away. The beef was great. The prime ribeye was yum. The only negative was the Japchae. It had a butane flavor to the dish that was quite strong. Service was nice though. Never had someone cook my bbq before, even in Seoul!

The BEST Korean BBQ we’ve had in our life and we’ve tried places in Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles. This is another plane of heavenly food. My daughter has been converted from feeling cheese corn is eh to give me more. We ordered to our hearts content and had 4 adults and 2 children. Loved that the service included them grilling for us. Ambiance give outdoor street vibes. Meat was perfectly cooked and flavored hardly needed anything at all through the whole meal as far as adding sauces. Dipped shrimp in sauce and that’s about it. We ordered the mixed marinated beef, shrimp, cheese corn, tbokki, rice cakes, and dumplings. Every bite of yum and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend. Great to also find generous booth seating in Manhattan. We were cramped and you have 90 minutes for your meal.

Z
Z C

Food was pretty standard for K-Town. The meat was fresh and high quality, we didn't get any marinated meat so wouldn't be able to say how that compared. The side dishes could've been better. The service was pretty good as we never had to cook our own food like some other places. The place had a cool vibe and I would go back. There is also long line for the elevator but it actually moved pretty quickly and we didn't actually wait for a table on a Saturday night.

V
Violet

First time here and the place has a cool vibe. We didn’t have to wait for a table which was a plus. We ordered the spicy stir fried octopus, prime marinated kalbi, and the pork platter. The meats were fresh and tasted delicious though the kalbi and pork platter felt a bit overpriced. Total came out around $250. For the price, I expected rice to be included but it wasn’t. The servers were somewhat attentive but not very friendly. We asked to change the pork platter to a large pork platter within less than five minutes of ordering but were told it was too late to make the change. Since the food hadn’t been prepared yet, we didn’t understand why they couldn't make a change. I also wish they offered more individual pork options as the selection felt very limited. Overall, it was an okay experience but I’d likely try other places before coming back.

Jongro, more like Jongreat!!! It reminds me of my home town in Downers Grove! The pork rips mcslap and it’s better then the McRib (can’t wait for it to come back). Enjoy time here with family and friends.

Food was delicious and service was great, but very expensive! The bill was almost $600 for 5 people which I think is a bit much but everything was good so no issues with quality at all and we were so full by the end. Staff were lovely and atmosphere was cool. Next time we’ll have to be more selective with what we order or perhaps go to their sister restaurant that is all you can eat for a set price. We had a lovely time but you can likely find another spot that is just as good for cheaper, or perhaps if you go here then like I said, just be more selective.

Used to be my favorite kbbq joint however the prices have gone up and portions have gotten smaller. We did a set for two and the portions were quite small. Marinated meats were tasty and flavorful. Tofu soup that was included was a bit watered down with very little actual tofu inside. Granted their ingredients are great but the portions are too small. Their will likely be a wait at dinner peak hours. They won’t check your coat until you are ready to be seated.

Being one of the many chain restaurants in Korea, we've been waiting to visit this American counterpart for awhile now. With wait times and inability to make reservations, we finally had a chance to try it out. Hubby and I ordered the seafood pancake, brisket bean stew, and large marinate beef platter. The meat quality was decent and the marinade was delectable. However, the sides were disappointing compared to other Korean BBQ spots. We felt rushed by the server even though we had unfinished cocktails at the table.

Sides were great, maybe because it was during rush and closing time, but the meat was not good whatsoever. I can’t tell if it was because the way it was cooked (staff cook it, you do not), but it didn’t taste good and just plain sickening when I tried again at home a few hours later. Ended up taking most of the meat home, then immediately throwing it out. Guessing from how good it looked coming out, and how glowing my friends reviews are, I think it was just how it was cooked. A few other service frustrations, there were a few times i’ve had to ask for items again, or one soda would come out with a cup of ice and the other would for another person be a can by itself.

Nattharat Tamwongwan
Nattharat Tamwongwan

Longtime customer of 10 plus years, and unfortunately the service has really declined. The food is fine, but the staff felt rushed and unnecessarily rude despite the restaurant not being busy. Sad to see a once-beloved KBBQ spot turn into this.

Y
Yuelin Li

The staff barely smiled, felt like we were bothering them every time we asked for anything. And to top it off, it wasn’t cheap either — definitely not the kind of experience you want when you’re paying that much. If good service matters to you, this one might not be worth it.

N
NYCgirl1312

The food was good, however our server was rude. We ordered two lunches and other dishes and it was supposed to come with soup for each lunch order and we wanted to order one tofu and a bean soup. The server was impatient and annoyed when we asked l. We don't understand why and we were very politely asked . Our server was an Asian guy wearing a cap backward. If we were not allowed to choose the soup then don't print it on the menu. Also we were rushed to leave and paid the bill even our food was not finished. There were 5 of us and we knew they were trying to get us out. Will not recommend this place to our friends.

Jessica Ding

I want to preface this with— I’ve been here a bunch and will probably come back. During less busy hours, the staff are amazing, super attentive, will bring and refill the banchans, cook the meat perfectly. It’s a great place for groups and the quality of the meat is solid. BUT during peak dining hours, it’s not great. I came on a Sunday at 6:30pm and the staff were insanely busy. They didn’t have time to really cook the meat/ pay attention to the tables. First of all it took such a long time to get anything, water, even put our order in. Second the cooking of the meat was not great. It was really disappointing because the cuts of meat were good and you’re paying over a hundred for the meat. This is also the kind of place where the staff cook the meat for you and you’re not really touching anything. But given the staff is so busy, the meat was burnt on one side, undercooked on the other side. Lastly, this is a picture of the steamed egg side served. I didn’t touch this, this is how it came. I have no clue what the black chunk inside is and frankly was too scared to even eat this.

Rebecca Zhang
Rebecca Zhang

The meat was too sweet. The prices are very expensive but I understand that the meat is of quality. The problem is that everything was too sweet. The platters are already very old and scratched. Are it still able to use them? Tipping is suggested but they still want you to give them 30% Obligatorily... I was excited, there were waiters who served with a smile but other seemed unhappy and didn't even ask if we needed anything else.
