Have been here twice: Brunch & Happy Hour. Food is delicious. Tulum-Tulum drink is delicious. If this drink is removed from Happy Hour I won’t go again. Not cheap but still more affordable than a Tulum vacation package.

Tasty place right off the N line. Parking in the area isn’t great but you can alway pay the meter or try your luck with the side streets. Overall this place was pop’n, Food was great and perfectly portioned and the drink were deff not A cups. The Tulum Tulum was cool to receive as it comes with a lit garnish, literally on fire, so cool. The open floor plan definitely keeps you rethinking you meal choices as the smells are so incredible. Service gets an A+ as the staff was friendly and welcoming. As far as pricing, it doesn’t break the bank, which is great considering the location. Go give this place a try!

Stumbled on this place when walking down Broadway and did not regret going in. Great vibes, great bartender serving great drinks, and great food. We had the jalepeño margaritas which were delicious, and then we had a special quesadilla which was a birria short rib, which was TO DIE FOR. Will definitely go back next time I want some good local Mexican food.

Excellent food!! The best way to finish dinner is with a mesmerizing desert. So dont forget to order Tres Leche Bread Pudding made out of vanilla ice cream / khalua caramel sauce. It is the right level of sweetness

They have a variety of yummy salsas for your tacos. The shrimp & the fish tacos were the best. Wasn't as thrilled with the pastor ones as I usually am, but they were still good. Definitely recommend whether out with the girls/guys or on a date. The bread pudding desert was warm & delicious with ice cream on top

Had amazing birria tacos and amazing pork tacos. They have a great selection of vegetarian options as well which was perfect for my friend. I never had tacos like this before. A staple in astoria. Drinks menu was great. I got the guava margarita. Outdoor dining seating was okay. I was freezing even though they had heat. Will be adding this spot to my fave lists to eat by home.

We had plan, go out with friends today ... nothing crazy, just talk, drink and eat something. So on the way where we supposed to go I see this place, catch my eyes right away. Love the outside sitting. Had a very nice waiter ,we explained just stop buy for a drink have to meet with another friends different place. He was very helpful what to order. So my friend ordered a margarita (tamarind flavor ) me a mezcal cocktail. My drink was on fire! Price is great quality wow! Place busy, even on tuesday, music awesome not too loud . Next time we gonna come here ,and try the food too!

Love this place! The food and drinks are always so good! Great place to come with friends and get some good food and drinks before going out to a bar or club. The staff is always friendly and the service is quick even when it is really busy. The food is always delicious and the presentation is pretty too. The food is delicious! The only thing is it seemed they were short staffed on a Tuesday? We came here on a Tuesday night and sat at the outdoor seating across the main bldg. And service took a lil while cuz it seems there was only one waiter for the whe restaurant. Not sure if that was normal or just that night. Regardless, the food is tasty!

Cool ambiance & delicious cocktails which were surprisingly strong. The food was good and the portions were super generous— I couldn’t finish my enchiladas after 2 of the Tully frozen drinks. The light was super low (Saturday night vibes) so the table next to us kept turning on their phone flashlight to see things, which was interesting because the menu is a QR code & is on your phone screen.

We stumbled across this underrated establishment and it was better than we imagined. The ceviche was refreshing, delicious and original. The birria burrito and tacos were nothing shorty of culinary perfection. Will be returning on the regular.

Visited Friday 5/10/24 The vibe is really nice love the decorations. The music was a little loud. The service was great by Carolina and Gabriella. The bathroom was nice and clean and very comfortable. The only complaint that I had was that the octopus tacos a little tough to eat. I bought it up to the managers attention and he said thank you.

How have I not reviewed this place already!!! It’s usually always packed but the day we passed by there was actually seating. We sat at the bar and got some drinks. I asked if one of the frozen drinks was alcoholic. She said no but we make them. So I got the Jamaica(hibiscus) margarita. Wow!!!! Especially on these steamy days… definitely a go too. I looked over the menu and saw they had Aquachiles.. haven’t found a place outside of Cali and Mazatlan that SAYS they know how to make it and then they bring me a cocktail instead. So I ordered it! When I took the first bite I almost chocked from the hit of the marinade… PERFECT!! That means it was made right!!! Only thing I wish is that it was a little bigger serving. I couldn’t eaten just that!! Definitely a must have. Then I ordered the carnitas tacos and my fiancé ordered the asada tacos. When they come, first thing I see is the handmade tortillas!! Wow! Another plus! And they’re delish!!! My fiancé like his asada tacos but I preferred mine. The asada was a little salty for my taste. I can’t wait to come back and try some of the other dishes! I have Celiac Disease and they can accommodate GF. I've eaten there countless times and have not gotten sick. Margaritas are delicious, all the tacos are good too! The chips are not safe for GF people, but most of the tacos are.

This place is so charming!!!I got the quesadillas and it was d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s! I couldn’t have any alcoholic drink and they were very kind to prepare a special mocktail that wasn’t even on their menu. I went with a friend just to catch up, but it’s definitely a nice place for a date as well.

Chef Polo introduced us to some authentic Mexican cuisine. Tacos were just fantastic with all fresh ingredients. You can definitely taste the freshness. Must try the Ceviche and the Mole Chicken. Heaven! Drinks were delicious as well and our server was recommending us ideas based on our questions. Astoria is the place to be and Las Catrinas enhance this statement.

To start with, after three months, I am back to NYC and am so excited to explore new restaurants. We wanted to try Hispanic food during our visit in Astoria and found La Catrina’s by chance. Overall, it was a great dining experience. The portions were large and people were lovely. The only thing I can complain is the wait time, but that is understandable on a Friday night. I personally tried Bistec A La mexicana and can vouch for it!

Make sure to stop for one of the best drinks I have had in a long time... Be careful... They are so good you forget that you're on number 5 until you stand up. The tacos are large filled with a tasty combination of items for the perfect flavor vs just some meat in a shell. The el pastor is my go to taco. Best part is that this place is packed any night so make sure to get their early.

Took my boyfriend here who came to visit from Minneapolis. We loved the food, service was amazing and staff was so friendly. We both ordered margaritas i had the mango margarita and my boyfriend had the guava and both were delicious. Definitely will recommend and revisit.

My friends and I recently had the pleasure of eating at Las Catrinas and it was a fantastic experience from beginning to end! The ambiance and the colorful decor was very reminiscent of my time in Mexico. The food was exceptional, as every dish was bursting with flavor. We started with the guacamole which was paired with their house made chips and did not miss the mark. For my main course I had the birria tacos. The were cooked to perfection, the shredded stake was cooked to perfection and had amazing flavor. I can’t rave enough about how great the food was. The service was also top-notch. Our server was friendly, attentive and knew everything there was to know about the menu and what we should try. All in all, Las Catrinas delivers great Mexican food with a great atmosphere. I’ll definitely be going back!

I will definitely be visiting again. The group had the machete, which is a 24-inch Corn Tortilla, Oaxaca cheese, and 4 varieties of meat. It was absolutely delicious.

I love this place so much. My girlfriend and I come here VERY often and struggle to go elsewhere. This is our first choice for any restaurant, not just Mexican. We get nachos, flavored margaritas like their strawberry margaritas, and I get their Bruselas Quesadeilla. I always bring friends or family visiting my apartment here.

Food is always good, drinks are always good. My favorites, esquites, corn ribs, tostones with carne asada, quesadilla, bistec ala mexicana, omg and the aguachile i love it so much so good and spicy. For drinks everything is delicious, the bartender knows whats up. Margaritas, frozen or on the rocks, even a nice gin Gimlet hits so good.

Great spot for Margaritas and Mexican food. We’ve tried almost everything on the menu here. My go to here are the frozen flavored margaritas (top three flavor: strawberry 🍓, mango🥭, coconut 🥥, passion fruit)! My go to foods are the burritos and the nachos. The service here is very good, as they are very attentive! Most go, especially in happy hour. Parking in the area is okay. Might have to do a few laps for street parking.

I give Las Catrina’s 5 stars! The green chicken enchiladas were absolutely delicious — full of flavor and perfectly made. The birria quesadilla was slightly crispy just amazing too, juicy, cheesy, and cooked just right. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to!

You can tell the owner had a lot of inspiration regarding the decor and the menu. I sat at the bar and had the cemita and the playa del Carmen drink. They both were amazing. The cemita was huge and messy to eat however it all tasted Amazing. The place is a wonderful addition to Astoria and I recommend it.

It was the Mexican Independence Day, and was recommended this restaurant by my brother. It was a Friday evening and it was very busy, so we had no choice and opted for the outside dinning experience... Did not disappoint.... Carolina was our server, she was very friendly and cheerful, we began with a couple of Margaritas, Passion fruit and the Regular, strong and savory. Our appetizer began with the Tostones guac and pico de gallo (make sure to add Shrimp), great combo also asked for the Shrimp Aguachile, a top notch, must try recommendation... For our main course, we chose the Mole and Red Steak Enchiladas... The red sauce was amazing, was not too spicy, but Carolina promptly resolved that situation by bringing a side of Habanero sauce... Ufffff Muy Caliente 🥵, Muy Delicioso.... Did i mention the margaritas? Make sure to add the Don julio, some say its a sacrilege to fuse it with the margarita, but for me, it works... Thanks Catrinas for an enjoyable evening, didn't give it a 5 star because I was expecting some Mexican Music in the background but hey who notices anyway right?! Solid evening, Delicious food, strong drinks, good company, excellent staff... Well Done Catrinas, will come back again... hopefully ill give it the last pending ⭐️...

There’s always a ton of people eating here, great music, outdoor seating and fun vibes. The staff was amazing too. My only issue was the quality of the food. I ordered steak enchiladas, the sauce was great but the steak was very tough and chewy. It seemed like they used a low quality meat compared to other steak I’ve had in Mexican food. The tostadas were amazing. The rice didn’t have much flavor. Tacos on the small side but tasty. We were sitting outside and a guy left his motorcycle on and it was letting off exhaust onto our table. The waitress moved us which was amazing. The staff was very friendly

We got just Lechase cake, guava cheesecake, El Diablo, two tacos and two drinks. The food was good. They stay open until 12 but the kitchen closed at 11:40. There is both outdoor and indoor dining. The outdoor finding area is beautiful for a date. When I was there someone said as breaking up so it’s good for that as well 😬

The service here is unmatched. I’ve been here three times and the service is excellent. I ordered the chicken tinga taco, fish taco and shrimp taco (in photo). All were excellent! Very fresh and tasty. The salsas pack a punch and the frozen hibiscus margarita is well-made, I refuse to try anything else. It’s flavorful and not overwhelmingly sweet at all, which I love. The only reason I’m rating a 4/5 is because on taco Tuesday I came back and I bravely ordered a steak taco and a birra taco (without the consume), though the birra taco had a lot of filling, I found them quite dry and underwhelming with flavor (these tacos aren’t in the photo). It was nice to get the taco Tuesday deal buy 2 get 1 free and I love how they serve bright crisp radish slices to accompany the tacos as well as juicy fresh limes. I still look forward to returning and ordering the taco selection that I like. The guacamole was great as well.

A very bustling spot on a Sunday evening. Service was very welcoming and awesome. Food was good. Carne asada quesadilla and carnitas tacos 🧨. Horchata and margarita’s were great as well. Overall a decent spot for a quick bite or a night out.

Walked around 8:30pm place was quietly empty but there was a little wait, waiter took a long to get us seated but I can’t blame him due to the place being understaffed. Food didn’t took long to be served and the food is great. I really recommend the elote and the birrias tacos. Overall great place just need to improve their costumer service.

The food was excellent, and the service was good, except for one issue. When we sang "Happy Birthday" with a tiny cake a friend brought, a waitress told us we couldn’t eat it because the manager had said so. I understand there are policies, but it felt unnecessary since we had already ordered so much. Because of that, I probably won’t be back, but the food was good!

My cousin and I recently discovered this hidden gem in and decided to try their drinks and dessert. The cocktails were well-crafted, and the donas de ricota were absolutely delicious — a perfect sweet treat. So, naturally, we had to come back for dinner. The food was solid overall; the birria tacos were a bit on the dry side, but the Mexican burger was a standout and definitely worth recommending. And, of course, we couldn’t resist getting the donas again for dessert — they were just as amazing as we remembered. The service was excellent, with attentive staff who made sure we were well taken care of throughout.

Their mojitos are worth it! I visited during the cold season, and my friends and I were seated outside; they had outdoor heating, but beware! It becomes a bit too warm. The inside seating is a bit cramped. However, I definitely recommend this place for drinks!

I visited this place in the summer of 2024 and liked it so much that I saved the location. However, this year the place disappointed me. The quesadilla was terrible! It was so bad that we left it and didn’t even eat it. I was very, very dissatisfied. The tacos, however, I did like.

Wanted to like this place but after my second time here, I'll pass going forward. Service is fine but the food and drinks are just not that good despite looking delicious. The original chips that came with the guac had to be sent back because they were obviously old and 'chewy'. The bread for the tacos was cold. For the first time here the fajitas were just ok. On the plus side my girlfriend found the drinks good. I thought they both tasted like kool aid, wayyyy to sweet. Either way I wont be back.

A solid Mexican restaurant in the area - a bit more modern and darker than some of the other brightly lit Mexican restaurants nearby. The food and cocktails are more creative and inspired than traditional flavors (and priced accordingly). Had dinner here recently and enjoyed the guacamole, octopus quesadilla, and a few tacos. Service was nice and attentive.

Food is good and service is average. It is totally not acceptable that we have to pass around our own plates/silverware and pack our own doggie bag and then have the audacity to recommend three options for tips on check for 20% 25% and 30%

The food was about average; the chilaquiles were overly salty (chips were too tough), the birria hash had very little hash (which were approximately 15 cubed potatoes aka not enough to qualify as a hash imo) and the huevos rancheros were all beans. That's all forgivable. What forced this review was the additional charges: who charges $2 for sour cream when it was supposed to come with your dish? Also a dollar for limes? See image. The subpar food plus nickel and diming for condiments that helped to balance your own food = 2 stars.

Decided to give aguachile here a try and portion sizing is pretty insane. These aguachile portions were $23 each. Leading aguachile restaurant in the city offers ~4x as much for the same price.

Been here twice now. Absolutely love this place. Talk about authentic af! Both times I’ve been here the servers/host were great. This recent time (photos below) we went to celebrate my partners bday and we had a great time without saying a word about it. The food is 10/10. Try out the nachos 🤤Wish they had more veggie options but in light of keeping it traditional, I understand. Drinks are amazing! The mezcal is superb, the server actually explained how it’s been trial and error but finally found the perfect mezcal and I cannot agree any less. Will be back, will recommend to all my folkz Review Update 8/19/25: Been a consistent guest here for the past 3 years. Every special event we visit this place. I’ve recommended this place to so many and have even brought people here but the last couple of times have really struck a nerve. The food has declined and isn’t as good anymore but that’s not even what has done it for me, it’s the service. We used to have our favorite server all the time and lately the women have taken over which isn’t a big deal however everything is a drag with them as if you’re asking for too much. The encounters feel awkward as hell. They also do this weird thing referring to the entire table as ladies even when it’s not all women. You can spot what tables they’re more interested in (large Spanish speaking parties). Lately the influx of flies is annoying as well. The atmosphere is off. It’s unfortunate that all good things come to an end. With the influx in pricing you’re better off going elsewhere with service like this.

So in all fairness this one star will be explained, for I did not have any food or drink. I travel quite a bit and usually look up restaurants to try when I visit other cities. This one popped up especially since it was within a quick walking distance from my airbnb. So after getting in after my flight was delayed I decided to go have a late dinner/drinks here for Google said they were open till 12, so I end up there @ 9:35 & they’re open but with a feel of locking up. Well they have adjusted hours which is posted with my pics. But the sign says 10pm, I’m like cool I can still order some food. The girl at the door says oh kitchen just closed 5 minutes ago, but I could still get drinks. Sorry was wanting the whole deal. So I left. I’ve been in the restaurant business over 25 years, I wish I could close up certain parts of the restaurants whenever I feel despite what my sign says. To me that is HORRIBLE business!! Especially in these times we live in and so many other restaurants in the area to compete with, do you really want to deliberately shot yourself in the foot. I severely doubt I’ll try to go back especially since I made a concerted effort to go in the first place.

This Mexican restaurant is the worst i order a steak fajitas. It was literally 3 skimpy pieces of meat it was just full of vegetables and my whisky was just water ...lol if any body finds the steak lmao
