We visited on Boxing Day and had the festive menu. The food was lovely, couldn’t fault it. The staff were super friendly and our table was beautifully decorated. Thanks all for a fantastic afternoon, would recommend.
Had a great time at The Crown!!! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was super welcoming - exactly what you want in a local spot. I especially want to give a shout-out to Mason, who really stood out. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything at our table was perfect. It’s rare to get service that genuine these days. We’ll definitely be back - thanks again, Mason and team!
Just returned from having Sunday lunch and have to say the Sunday roasts were absolutely delicious - every part stood out !! For dessert my husband had stick toffee pudding which he said was opulent rich and mouthwatering , I had the apple crumble and cinnamon cream which was equally scrumptious!! The staff are also extremely attentive !! Well done a first class pub for food service and ambience - luck it’s our local!!!
Edit August 2022 - five stars. I have visited the pub 6 times and have found the service and food pretty consistent, from the first day of opening to some of their most busiest times in the evenings and sunny days. They do roast dinners very well, the condiments are as good as the food and I suspect they are freshly made on site - horseradish had enough burn, mint sauce tastes fresh etc. There is a good selection of draught, as well as soft drinks. The luscombe brand is well worth trying as a non-alcoholic drink. Soda water is also available by the pint which is good to see. As a vegetarian option (can't remember if they are vegan), the allotment salad is tasty and available as main or small plate. I have had it twice and the leaves have always been fresh. If you don't like much dressing I'd recommend asking for it on the side, however it is the right amount for me. I did prefer the salad to the veggie haggis pie as I felt the flavours didn't blend as well with the rest of the filling. If you enjoy meat options, I would definitely recommend the chicken pie as a hearty option. A nice salad option would be the sticky beef salad, although I would recommend taking it as a smaller portion than the large main. The steak frites was delicious, very well cooked, a tasty steak and you definitely can taste is a higher quality cut. If it is a Sunday, definitely try out the roast dinners, you won't be disappointed. I have tried two of the desserts, a morello cherry sundae (with popping candy) and the dairy free Belgium waffle dessert. I think that both were equally good. The cocktails are great, I also enjoy the hot drinks too. If you are looking to visit in busier times, I would definitely recommend booking. The managers and staff are friendly and hardworking, this pub is definitely a welcome treat for the local area. I'd say, to get this review to 5 stars, it will just come with time as we know the hospitality industry in under pressure and novice staff are undergoing training, which can be more complex than it looks.
We finally got a chance to come here for a meal and I can safely say we will be coming again! The chips were perfectly crisp but fluffy on the inside; both the chicken schnitzel and buttermilk burger were succulent and thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were friendly and inviting (next time we’ll bring the dog to add to the wall of doggy Polaroids) Our only complaint was the prices, £15 for a chicken burger and chips (although delicious) seems quite high, especially for a pub setting.
We had a table for 12 including 4 children. The food was excellent, the portions were a good size. The variety of food was impressive. The kids could expend their energy in the garden. An excellent, fairly priced meal. A great Sunday.
Mel, Summer and the team looked after my elderly grandparents on Boxing Day. They were attentive, caring and efficient. Plus the food is delicious and drinks are great! Atmos is great.
I had Christmas lunch here. We were a group of 5 ages from 30 to 94. The menu was varied and had something for everyone. We had different dishes and we all loved what we had. It was delicious. Clearly they had thought carefully about where people sat in the space which made for a lovely atmosphere. It was full and buzzy but also calm. The service was fantastic: all requests were dealt with very quickly and nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were friendly and helpful. It was an outstanding experience and i would book again in a heartbeat!
A huge thank you to The Crown, Mel and all the wonderful staff for not only making our wedding reception possible, but for making it such a special one too. The food was delicious and so reasonably priced, and all of our guests were so complimentary and had full bellies! They have a fantastic range of drinks on offer, and the cocktails are also amazing!! We cannot fault our experience at The Crown. Mel is so lovely, she couldn’t have been more accommodating, creating both a personal and relaxed environment for us. All of the staff at The Crown are very professional and friendly, and again all of our guests were very complimentary about the service we received. Whether you’re looking for somewhere special to celebrate an occasion or a really good meal or drink in their beautiful pub and/or garden - The Crown is the place to go!! Thank you for helping us make such special memories on our wedding day. We can’t wait to come back very soon!
Popped in with my husband and sister-in-law after walking the dog for a late lunch and had to leave a review. A lovely warm welcome from behind the bar and the food was really delicious. We went for the lunchtime rolls with chips and a drink and it was spot on! We all really enjoyed it. We usually come here on Sunday for their delicious roast but definitely recommend a weekday lunch too!
I would highly recommend booking the cheese and wine event at The Crown. The selections of wine were great as were the platters of cheese, crackers, grapes, apple and strawberries. It was lovely to have table service and the staff were very attentive.
Me and my husband held our wedding reception here on 20/11/2025. The staff were so friendly the food was amazing. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. I would highly recommend this place for any future events. Everything was just perfect. Thank you to all the staff who was involved. You all went above and beyond to make our day special thank you all.
This has been added to one of my favourite places in Bromley. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are all deserving of high praise. My friends threw a baby shower for me there, and it was amazing. I was given a special gift (of a bouquet of flowers and baby gift) by the management, and now I'm so biased about the place. I give The Crown a solid 10, and I'll recommend any day 👌
First time visiting The Crown and I would definitely return. The service was so helpful and friendly. It’s a really lovely building - beautiful interiors and the garden looked nice too. Everything I ate was tasty. The music was good. I like that it’s dog friendly (a bold cat walked in at the end of the night too!) and the selection of food (lots of veggie and vegan options) and drinks was wide and great value. Really good job!
We went to The Crown for lunch and were welcomed with smiling friendly staff, in particular Demi & Mel who couldn’t have made our visit more enjoyable. They had one of their Signature Pies on the special board which was Chana Rama and was truly delicious. We will defiantly be returning soon to this charming friendly pub
Really nice Menu. Extremely friendly staff. Please note this place it is Pet friendly. If you want to have a good time in the garden you might want to stay for a while.
Really nice pub. We enjoyed our meal here. The food was great and served in a decent wait time. Both main and dessert was lovely and we enjoyed our drinks selection. Beautiful decor and interiors to the pub.
The Crown is a majestic pub nestled in the busy borough of Bromley on the outskirts of South London. Look at that Guinness!
Fabulous night, it was my girlfriends birthday do, we had a table reserved at the back. I wasn’t roo in pleased with the food they bright us, but maybe that was just me not liking red cabbage with my burger. I tried a veggie halumii Berger, but that was not nice. The live 🎶 music made up for it. And of course being with my besties friends too.
This is a very good Pub in the area. One can enjoy all the facilities of a good Pub here.
Another great lunch at The Crown, Mel and the team really looked after all of us and even gave me a birthday card. The garden was lovely to have a drink in after the meal and cool breeze really helped! Would just like to say thank you again to the team at The Crown as it made our day even more special!
Sunday roast dinner, tasty food, nice atmosphere great pub garden
I had a wonderful evening at The Crown last night. We had our works Christmas dinner there, 11 of us. Charlie and her team couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. Excellent service and all of us loved our food. I had the pork belly, which was delicious. Would highly recommend and will be back for sure. Thank you.
Great evening, food was excellent 😋 Thank you Mason for being so attentive and making my birthday meal flawless!!!
Many thanks to Melanie and the staff at the Crown for making my 70th birthday celebrations a night to remember! They were friendly, helpful and efficient - bringing out the lovely food at just the right time and letting us know if the bar tab was running low. We had just over 70 guests, many of whom had been part of a group that frequented the Crown in the 70s! Everything ran smoothly and there were lots of compliments for the food, service and atmosphere.
We were able to get a lovely table on their sunroom and had a very delicious Sunday roast, I think it’s the best pork belly I ever had (the roast beef was delicious too). We also had an entre each and a couple of drinks to go with the meal.
I had a really amazing experience at the Crown, food was incredible and so was the Beer, really nice welcoming pub and a great garden too. Can't wait to come back and I hope to see this pub thrive.
The crown has always been a fantastic spot, but with their newly renovated beer garden, it's next-level. Seriously, it's the perfect sun trap for a pint (or two!) on a lovely day, and it's got a brilliant vibe for evenings too. And let's talk about the staff – they're absolutely brilliant. Always up for a laugh, super friendly, and they make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. Whether you're a regular or it's your first time, you're guaranteed a warm welcome and top-notch service. Do yourself a favour and pop in. You won't regret it!
I booked a table for my sister and myself for 6.00pm Saturday, forgetting the rugby was on which The Crown was showing. When we arrived the place was packed, very jovial, friendly but very noisy. I told the lady serving that we had booked a table in the bar but asked if we could sit somewhere quieter. This lady found us a table in the conservatory. She was very pleasant, came back to take our order. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.
The Crown at Sundridge is a wonderful pub suitable for all the family, dogs included! Service is always top notch here with friendly and attentive staff, knowledgeable in their wide range of drinks available (alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike). If you need a good cocktail then John is your man! There are great seating options, both indoor and outdoor, for a proper sit down meal or even just a couple drinks and bar snacks. The food has always been delicious here, especially the Sunday roast! Will definitely be back!
First time going to the Crown since it changed management, and it's fantastic. The pub itself was done up really nicely a couple of years ago but the service was really patchy before - huge huge improvement now, really good service, warm welcome, super efficient. The food is very tasty. Nice atmosphere. We booked a table for 10 but turned up with quite a few extra people. They accommodated all of us no problems. Highly recommended.
This is my local pub. Enjoy visiting this establishment for the atmosphere. Friendly staff, consistent quality food, great garden and fun events. Summer and mel , the new managers, are fabulous and very caring. The bar staff are cool especially Mark, Gio and John but not just limited to those guys. So overall glad this place has new management. Best Robx
A recently refurbed family and dog friendly pub. We went on a Sunday: be aware tables get booked up in advance! If there's a tile on the table with a name on-it's reserved. There are some 'drinks' tables but it gets busy quite quickly- we arrived 12ish people were just starting to arrive. Libby at the bar gave us a warm friendly welcome. Our group were deaf: she was clear and easy to understand and looked directly at us making communication easy. Thank you! Some of the male staff were challenging to understand and not very deaf aware sadly. The Crown is a relaxed mix of traditional and eclectic, loved the dark tones of the conservatory... See photos 👍 Access for wheelchairs needs to be via the front door small lip to get in. I didn't see the disabled toilet though... Doors to rest rooms are quite narrow. Baby change was in a toilet cubicle (in ladies- can't comment on gents loos! 🤭) Food menu was left at the tables, and was ordered via the bar at till. Not a massive range but we loved the Lamb Shank, Sea Bass and Burger. Crumble was nice but... People said it needed a bit more depth of fruit as v shallow dish. Dogs love it (forgot to snap the treats! 3 glass jars!) water bowls available and Paw Hall of fame by bar. We stayed ages as a lovely relaxed vibe. We'll be back as we can have a drink and waddle home afterwards - Brill!👍😁
Booked a table to go with my family and children for dinner on a Saturday at 5.45pm to avoid any large crowds and the place was very loud upon arrival as the rugby was on. Had heard good things about this place so we wanted to try it out. It was a good atmosphere if you don’t mind a bit of noise and sports. The food was delicious but I have to knock 1 star off as there was a drunk man on our table who wouldn’t leave and was a bit intimidating. He was talking to my children and even trying to grab my baby’s hand. The staff didn’t bother in asking him to leave our table and he only left after about 30mins because he had to go home. That was the only let down of the evening.
When I visited it was quiet (Tuesday evening) so plenty of seats to choose from. Nice outside seating area which was what drew me in to visit. Didn't order food, but menu seemed in line with other pub offerings. Didn't host traditional beers on tap but had other offerings. Good wine must and cocktail offerings too.
The Sunday roasts were lovely but portion sizes on both the kids and the adults main menu were very small. We tried to last it out but managed to finish dinner in a few mins and left hungry. Also to note, no greens with the kids menu. What was included was very nice £20 adults £10 kids
We started with the padron pepper that were nice. I had the Korean chicken burger which was mediocre at best, bun was dry and dense, the patty was on the smaller side and did not have sufficient seasoning, chips were ok. The wife had the pork Ravioli which was really nice.
Food was really good, but I'd say its more like a pub than a restaurant. You have to order food at the bar but when it's busy it takes like 15-20mins to order.
The food was great, but the service was dire and ruined the birthday meal for us. None of the servers were proactive and no-one came to the table to take our orders until we called someone. I had to go to the bar twice to remind them of half of the drinks order. 30 minutes after ordering the food we were told one of the meals wasn't available. Dessert (2 pudding and 4 children's ice cream) took 40 minutes (in a dining room that had emptied out a fair bit). And when the kids ice cream came, it came with nothing that was included on the menu (marshmallows etc). Kids were disappointed but after having waited 40 minutes we were not going to wait any longer.
Food was generally good. Beef roast was warm and tasty. Good gravy and veggies. The beef was a little overdone but still tasty. Kimchi chicken burger was good. Kids menu was great but the crudités and breadsticks never materialised. Service was curt and there was only one member of staff on for most of our meal. A smile and some interaction would’ve been nice.
Absolutely beautiful pub and fantastic garden. So pleased to have discovered this place. Or at least I was, until I ordered a Guinness and some food. Both need improvement. Sorry guys.
We visited last night for an evening meal, 6 people so not lots of us. Some of food over cooked and not great, 1 meal forgotten so had to wait while others eating. Received the bill to have a discretionary charge of over £21 ponds, our choice to leave a tip if we felt it justified, we did not. Won't be going back with the price of a glass of standard wine being over £14, forgetting everything else. Just pleased the company we were with was amazing
This is our local and it’s great for drinks, but unfortunately the food hasn’t lived up to expectations. We’ve eaten here twice in the past month. On our first visit, the chicken schnitzel came out raw. By the time a replacement was brought over, we’d already eaten our sides and weren’t particularly hungry anymore. We were offered a glass of red wine each as compensation, but as we already had a bottle on the table and don’t really drink much, it didn’t feel like the most appropriate gesture. We decided to give it another try, but sadly it was disappointing again. I ordered the £34 steak, which was a small sirloin that was extremely chewy, with no char and very little flavour, it honestly looked more boiled than grilled. For £34, especially with a butcher literally across the road, you would expect at the very least a fillet or a noticeably higher quality cut. It simply didn’t reflect the price point. It’s a shame, as we really enjoy coming here for drinks and would love for the food to match the atmosphere.
The pub has been done up really nice, however I had lunch there today and the food wasn't good. The pie was not homemade but shop bought the runner beans I'm sure cooked from frozen. £15 for that was a bit of a rip off and drinks are really expensive. Sorry 'The Crown' I was hoping for alot better!
The crown has gone down hill big time. My father was a regular in this pub from the day it opened, so we went there what would have been his bday. We ordered some starts as some of our party was running late. We had to wait over an hr and then we had to ask for bowls to be removed. We was in the pub for 4hrs 2 main meals came out when everyone 3lse had finished. The young staff was running around like headless chickens again we asked for plates to be removed. In the end I took them and put them on the bar. Again over an hr for puddings. Which we didn't get them all, one of our party is in recovery she asked dose this have achole in it, she was told no, she didn't taste achole in it but manger said it was. The woman who runs the place tried to be polite but was smearking as she walked of. We spent £450 in this pub we could have got better service and food at toby carvery. If you do not have enough staff, don't book large party's. Toilets were terrible paper hand towels everywhere. Buy a bigger bin. One thing I can say your cleaner is your valuable member of staff the floors were clean. We will no longer be spending money in your pub
We visited The Crown for a Sunday roast, really looking forward to this as we haven’t tried since it reopened as a Pub. As soon as we arrived we were slightly put off by it being a cashless venue.. for a pub it really should take cash! Got to the bar and all the staff were gathered around the chatting not taking any notice of the fact we were waiting to be served. Asked for our table.. ‘it’s at the back near the TV and gestured to the left’ table was right next to a huge tv between both the men’s and women’s toilets. Not a pleasant place to put tables I’m sure most people would agree! We were offered a different table but had about 40 mins to eat before they needed the table back.. we said no, to then be offered a nice table at the front. Food came.. standard chicken roast (hard to mess that up) it was bland and the meat was over cooked. Bread sauce was cold and tasted of flour. Safe to say the food, service and atmosphere terrible. If you are going to charge £18+ for a roast it needs to be a better and so does the service. Thank you to the waitress who tried to salvage the experience.
Baked Camembert came out looked nice at first but it only came with 3 peices of bread considering it was a sharer so basically it was all left in the tub still !!. The camembert was very sour (once the skin was removed also ! ) and the bread was stale. We asked for a replacement but the chef and bar staff refused to do so without an extra payment. Wont be returning again. Awful food and we had to pay £10 for a large wine. Absaulte rip off, shame because it looked like it had such potential. 👎👎👎
