The best meal we had in London! The service was immaculate! We would order an additional plate and it would show up within minutes. We were overwhelmed my the menu choices and the server helped recommend the popular items. I highly recommend a reservation but you need to get it way in advance!
I had an amazing time at Dishoom Soho! From the moment I arrived, the experience was warm and welcoming. Ayana at the front desk set the tone right away she was incredibly friendly and made us feel taken care of from the start. Our server, Juraj, was equally fantastic. He was attentive, kind, and made great recommendations throughout the meal. His service really elevated the whole dining experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was vibrant, and the staff truly made the visit memorable. I’d definitely recommend Dishoom Soho and will absolutely be returning! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our first visit to Dishoom, we had booked a table and only had to wait a couple of minutes to be seated. It was VERY busy. The table we were sat at (54) was on an intersection so wasn't exactly relaxing as people were constantly walking past in all directions. We tried to pick foods that weren't too spicy so avoided anything with an 'S' next to it. But we found our dishes to be still be too spicy to eat, however a really nice staff member came over to ask if everything was ok & offered to change our meals without us asking. We didn't expect this & were really impressed with their attitude. Once swapped we enjoyed our food. The drinks were lovely. Vegan menu available if required & alcohol free menu too.
Superb! Authentic taste of India. Excellent service. Fantastic lively atmosphere. Very busy - almost always! Like the bottomless Masalla chai - great gesture 🙌
So happy to have finally tried Dishoom after hearing all the hype! It certainly lives up to it. The food is absolutely delicious, our favorites were the Ruby chicken (of course), tandoori chicken and lamb curry. It’s a very busy space, so be sure to make a reservation. I imagine it’s nearly impossible to sit without one as we even waited 10-15 mins after check in for our reservation.
We went to Dishoom Carnaby for the classic festive feast & honestly had such a great time. The place has that warm, buzzy vibe that just feels right, especially this time of year, lively but still really cosy. The food was spot on. The okra fries were a surprise favourite, super crisp & perfectly spiced, the kind of thing you keep reaching for without thinking. The house daal was exactly as good as everyone says: rich, comforting & full of flavour. And the malai kulfi at the end was just dreamy, creamy, delicate & the perfect way to finish. Service was genuinely lovely too: relaxed, friendly & on it without ever feeling rushed. We left happy, full & already talking about when we can come back. Wholeheartedly recommend.
Very atmospheric and so tasty. We made reservations abt 10 days in advance and only lunch times were still available. The dishes were very delicious and the drinks were also so good 😊. It was such a nice vibe inside with very cute interior and an open kitchen below. The service was so friendly and efficient although it was quite busy. Would love to come here again.
A lovely Indian cuisine restaurant in London that’s definitely worth a visit. The service was excellent, and the restaurant itself was clean, welcoming, and had a great ambiance. The food was of high quality, with rich, delightful flavors throughout. It's set in a very cool part of London, which adds to the experience. Prices were reasonable, making it a great value. Highly recommend!
I visited Dishoom with my family after hearing a lot about it. I recommend making a reservation, as it helps you avoid waiting in the queue outside the restaurant. The ambience is lovely, with a great vibe and thoughtfully designed décor. Service was efficient, and the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful throughout our visit. We tried a couple of dishes, and the food was really good, with authentic traditional South Asian flavours. I highly recommend the Okra Fries, House Chaat, Methi Lamb Gosht, and Grilled Masala Prawns — all of them are a bit on the spicy side and full of flavour. If you prefer something milder, the Chicken Ruby is a great option. The Paratha and House Chai are also definitely worth trying and rounded off the meal nicely. We finished with the Pistachio Kulfi, which brought back nostalgic memories and was a perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Dishoom offers a great atmosphere with strong branding. The place can feel quite lively and a bit noisy due to the crowds and music, but that adds to the buzz. I would definitely visit again. Special thanks to Marcin for taking such good care of us.
Very enjoyable. Incredibly busy at 5pm so we had to join the 40 minute queue outside (no bookings unless large groups). This did put me off considerably if honest. Food was good. No complaints other than should have chosen the lamb special. We were in a rush due to theatre but managed to sit eat and leave with time to spare. Very popular
Absolutely lovely. What an amazing experience. We were taken care by Sam who was a lovely chap. Super friendly and taking time to explain you the vast menu. We opted for lamb chops and the signature black daal (stunning) along with their butter chicken and some garlic naam. What should I say. The food was very tasty. The home chai tea was also very delicious. The little downside. Kingsfisher beer bottle sets you back 9£ which is in my opinion a little bit on the higher end. But we will definitely be back for another round. Make a booking in advance cause the place gets quickly full.
Enjoyed a delightful culinary journey at Dishoom Carnaby in London! The flavors were truly unforgettable — every dish was rich, authentic, and beautifully presented. The warm, inviting ambiance made it perfect for a cozy evening out. Highly recommend for anyone craving exceptional Indian cuisine with great atmosphere and service!
Dishoom is my favorite Indian restaurant in London. Every time I visit London, I have to go there. Honestly, I’ve never tasted Indian food as delicious as theirs — it’s the best Indian food in the world. The waiter was very kind and helped us choose the dishes, as always. The only downside is that the music is extremely loud, to the point that people have to talk loudly and the place becomes noisy. Other than that, it’s the best restaurant ever. I rate it a million out of a million👍🏻❤️
Definitely worth a special detour. Everything was awesome. Food was amazing, really flavourful, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Our server Maryam was kind, joyful and really attentive, recommended us great dishes for our taste, definitely represents the place in the best way possible. Athmosphere was also pleasant, with dim and warm lights, I really enjoyed having lunch here and can't wait to come back. Hint: have a house chai if you really like spices, if not, a darjeeling will warm your day.
Dishoom never disappoints when it comes to food — as usual, everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Our server, Prena, was incredible — honestly one of the best servers we’ve had anywhere. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely made our experience much better. That said, I was a bit disappointed to learn that they’ve stopped serving bottomless chai after 6 PM. As a chai lover, this was a letdown, but it’s a small issue compared to the rest of the experience. Unfortunately, not everyone we encountered was as welcoming. One staff member (pictured) was quite rude when I asked about the chai. No smile, very serious demeanor — almost like talking to someone in a courtroom — which made that interaction uncomfortable. It didn’t ruin the meal, but it was noticeable and not the warm, friendly vibe you’d expect. Overall, Dishoom remains a great spot for food, and Prena’s service really stood out. Just wish the bottomless chai was still available and that all staff shared the same warmth.
This new location was awesome. Great food, kind and informative staff, spacious seating, great location… believe the hype. A few interesting things to note: there is an upstairs and downstairs, every meal you order there is another that’s donated, they have detailed menus and suggests according to your allergies and they take it very serious, there are quality matchbooks (for collectors) on sale for 3 pounds, and this location was insulated so there weren’t any strong smells while we sat down… only the aromatic food that came to the table.
Worth the hype!!!! Food waa simply amazing. Berry chicken biryani, ruby chicken, charred lamb chops and lassi. Everything was just perfect. Only thing we did not like was the okra fries, it was a bit plain for my taste. Amazing interiors and great vibe all around. Staff was very friendly and also helped us with explaining the menu. Dont forget to book a reservation in advance.
Everything about this place was amazing. We had chicken ruby, vegetable samosas, and naans, which, of course, were delicious. But the highlight was the lamb chop. It’s smoky flavor was astounding. The service was excellent too. Everyone was so kind and polite. Definitely recommended if you are looking for an Indian restaurant. 6/5.
Hurts to say this as the dinner is really good here but the breakfast was poor. Maybe what I ordered. Once we got some chilli sauce and added salt is was okay. Ordered the Christmas breakfast. Was poor. The vegan breakfast was good. Cheese toast was not hot so the cheese was a lump not soft and stringy. Also lacking any spice or flavour. We had the omelette which was okay. The saving grace was the refill chai. That was amazing. Great service. Staff and decor was good.
Stopped here during my last day of London and I decided to stop by as the Dishoom restaurants was highly recommended to try in London and London is known for phenomenal Indian food. This place did not disappoint! Okra fries were nice and crisp, charred lamb chops were great, and the chicken ruby had great flavour with a good spice kick. Service was excellent as the waitress took her time to explain the menu and the best way to order and to put combinations of meals together as their menu can get complicated. Definitely should book a reservation ahead of time, we went in at 4pm and it was not really busy.
This place truly elevated my first night in London, literally came here with my luggage! I got the Ruby Chicken with rice and garlic naan, with the mango lassi. The staff are super nice and the space is gorgeous! Not that this place needs any more advertising, but I truly recommend!
As expected, we had a joyful culinary experience at Dishoon's lately. The decent relaxing atmosphere, the quick and friendly service and, of course not to mention at last, the excellent and intensely flavored food convinced the whole family. Especially, the Mutton Pepper Fry and the Fish Amritsari were explicitly mouthwatering. Will come again.
Our second Dishoom location experience. I like how the quality is the same, but their are some differences in the decor, vibe, etc. we had a 45 minute wait, but they encouraged/allowed drinks and snacks in the bar area. The dessert popsicles were delicious!
Dishoom has been a long‑time favourite of ours, but this was our first visit to the Carnaby location and we absolutely loved it. A friend recommended it and she was definitely not wrong. We stopped in for a quick lunch break and ordered our trusty favourites: keema pau, the delicious house chaat and those perfect little samosas. Everything was spot on as always 😋 The Carnaby spot has such a great vibe and we think we may have found our new favourite Dishoom location. Already looking forward to coming back ❤️
The place was full, it’s better to make reservations prior. We made our reservation the day before. Staff was really sweet and helpful with the menu. Food was AMAZING! House black daal was super creamy and my absolute favorite! Potatoes with yogurt (i forgot the name) was also savory and spicy and perfectly balanced with yogurt. We really enjoyed our meal
The food was absolutely excellent as per usual and the service from Navan was incredible. This is the second time he has served us and he was very attentive and made our evening dinner a great time. We always return to dishoom carnaby in the hopes that he may be here as finding staff in restaurants as attentive as him is rare!
My first time at Dishoom and it was incredible. The food was so tasty and the choice on the menu was immense. The unusual drinks were a big hit with my party too. I've already recommended Dishoom to friends and I'll definitely visit again. I love the meal for a meal too. Thank you
Wow! Huge place but the food provided was absolutely phenomenal. Special shout out to Ibrahim (merci beaucoup mon ami!) who was so friendly professional and thoughtful with all our requests. If you like Indian food you wont go wrong here!
Wow wow wow, Dishoom just never disappoints! This was our second time dining in Dishoom (first was in Oxford) and both experiences were exceptional. While waiting in queue, we were offered hot green tea and chai which was incredibly comforting in the cold weather. The mango lassi had a perfect blend of sweetness and creaminess that complemented all the other savory dishes. The chicken ruby is one to die for, with a sublime curry that had rich and tangy kick to it. Paired it with the garlic naan and you’re suspended in a delicious reverie. The other surprising dish was the okra fries that tasted like French fries but dangerously more addictive that made it impossible to stop eating. To top it off, we were given a complimentary chocolate pudding to celebrate a birthday, a thoughtful touch that sealed our experience. Overall, Dishoom never misses and it’s the one reason that actually keeps us visiting the UK.
Wowed by the main dishes - delicious chicken ruby (wish it was more spicy) & succulent grilled prawns. Even the salad was surprisingly good! Topped by the friendly & attentive service of Oscar who comes over a few times to make sure we are enjoying ourselves despite the full house
Alexx G gave us a very good service and good advice on our first time ordering Indian food. She gave us the best options with the food and drinks. If you ever come here she’s the one for the advice.
Amazing place that serves delicious curry. The staff are super friendly and every dish tastes great. Would recommend the chicken curry and garlic naan.
Had an incredible dinner at Dishoom Carnaby. The place has such a great vibe — busy but cozy, with that amazing smell of spices the moment you walk in. The food was just perfect. The black daal was rich and comforting, the Chicken Ruby had the right amount of spice, and the naan was so soft we ended up ordering another round. And the chai — honestly, one of the best I’ve had anywhere. The staff were lovely too — friendly, quick, and genuinely nice to chat with. You can tell they care about what they do. All in all, one of those meals where everything just clicks — food, atmosphere, service. Can’t wait to come back.
What really made our experience exceptional, though, was Joanna. She was incredibly warm, attentive, and professional, making us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. She took the time to explain the menu, gave great recommendations, and checked in at just the right moments. Her positive energy and care truly elevated our visit. Outstanding food, amazing service, and a big thank you to Joanna for making our evening so memorable.
Excellent Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, we visited during breakfast time, but we didn’t regret it at all. We tried several dishes and everything was very tasty. Friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended.
We walked in from the street with no reservations and I feel we got the last table. We had such a good experience. With everything. The service was very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and very delicious. Especially the salad we had was worth mentioning. I would eat that every day if possible 😍. I will work hard at home to try replicate that🫶🏻
This was a great experience. We had no booking and had to wait, the lady who was coordinating the queue was very helpful as my daughter was not sure if she was going to eat anything on the menu. It was my birthday and I was keen to have dinner. The lady kindly brought me a menu so my daughter was able to see what she could order to eat. In the queue we were offered complimentary tea it warmed me up. Once inside we sat at the bar, the service was busy as the bar staff were hands on with other customers. After a long wait we were finally served and the buzzer went off to let us know the table was ready for us to eat. The waitress waited for our drinks and then we were served at the table. Seeing was very attentive and helps us with some ideas of how many dishes to order. Food was incredibly delicious. We enjoyed so much. Once the table was cleared I was brought a dessert with a candle on as a birthday treat. It was very unexpected and delicious surprise by the team. Such a great evening. My daughter really enjoyed the food and wants to return today!
Good food, lovely cozy decor, great energy. We couldn’t get reservations a whole month before our trip so we tried our luck walking in and waited over two hours. We walked around Carnaby St for over an hour, then we sat outside the restaurant with our buzzer.
Service was alright; It could have been better. Was a bit reluctant to pay the service charge, to be honest. Food wise — definitely above average, though I felt the standard may have dropped just a little bit, specifically for the naan. It used to be really piping hot, but it was warm when we visited today. That said, the flavours of the dishes were good (we had chicken tikka, chili chicken, garlic naan and chili broccoli), hence we will definitely go back.
Stopped by this Indian restaurant and was immediately taken by the great view — definitely a lovely setting. There was a long line, but they managed it well by seating us in the bar area while we waited, which was a nice touch. The service stood out — especially our server, who was fantastic and genuinely friendly, making us feel welcome throughout. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations and lacked the depth of flavour I was hoping for. That said, the prices were reasonable, and the overall experience was still enjoyable. Would consider giving it another try.
One of the best places to have authentic Indian food . The okra fried, Blackgram dalmakhni , garlic naan, Tandoori roti ( I tried only veg) chole bhature ( Delhi style) are class. First time it was huge waiting list , but second time we were seated within 10 minutes. Order taking and serving food hot are really fast!! Staff are really good and friendly. Atmosphere is awesome with sober lighting and walls adorned with yesteryear Bollywood stars 😊. Bar is there and drinks are served at the table also.
Because Dishoom is so well-known, there’s always a long queue. You can avoid this by making a reservation in advance. We decided to join the walk-in line, where a staff member politely managed the queue and even handed out drinks to keep everyone warm. At a certain point you’re allowed to wait inside at the bar and order some drinks until your table is ready. The service is genuinely good, though of course you do pay a service fee for it. We had the fish amritsari, and the chilli broccoli salad was refreshing and paired well with the spiciness of the fish. We also ordered the lamb chops, which were beautifully tender, like the chicken Ruby. The portion of chicken Ruby could have been a bit larger, as there wasn’t a lot of chicken in it, but the garlic naan was delicious for dipping into the sauce. I would definitely come back to try more dishes from the menu.
Finally made it to Dishoom Carnaby after hearing it recommended over and over — and even on a rainy Wednesday evening there was still a wait, which definitely says something about its reputation. The food overall was solid. We were recommended the Goan Monkfish Curry and Methi Lamb Gosht, and also ordered the House Chaat, Garlic Naan, and a couple of drinks. The monkfish curry was interesting — worth trying once, but monkfish is a slightly odd protein for such a great curry base. The Methi Lamb Gosht, on the other hand, was great: tender, deeply flavored, and beautifully cooked (though definitely not as spicy as advertised). The Garlic Naan was underwhelming, but the House Chaat absolutely stole the show — bright, crunchy, flavorful, and easily the star of the meal. Overall, a good experience with some real highlights, and I can see why people are loyal to this spot — just go in knowing the menu has a few hits and a few misses.
I was wondering why so many people queueing to the place. It’s modern Indian cuisine. Tasty, good price vs quality, but same time nothing beyond the universe. Incredibly well organized the booking process and service in general. I love open kitchen style, it builds the trust and confidence in a food. Only one dish with prawns and it’s not the best which I tried. However lamb was delicious
We had a very enjoyable experience at Dishoom, mainly thanks to the excellent service — attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout our visit. The paneer curry was rich and flavorful, and the fried okra was a real highlight: perfectly crispy and well-seasoned. Unfortunately, the lamb chops were a bit disappointing, as they weren’t as juicy as we expected. Overall, a great experience with some standout dishes, though there’s room for improvement on a few items.
We had lunch at this restaurant and started with the appetizers, which were flavorful and well prepared. However, there were a few issues with the main course. The plates arrived dirty under the covers, the Chicken Ruby was not served hot, and the Chicken Biryani was slightly dry. Despite these concerns, the overall experience was good, and the food tasted nice.
Visited Dishoom with family after hearing a lot about it. The ambience is great and the restaurant has a lovely vibe. Service was decent and staff were polite. However, the long waiting time really dampens the experience and kills your appetite. We tried a couple of dishes, but honestly, the food was just average and didn’t feel very authentic compared to real Indian flavours. Overall, nice atmosphere and branding, but the food didn’t live up to the hype.
We went there for lunch. The food did not live up to the hype. It was okay not great. Their specialty chicken ruby was okay. The lamb chops were good we really enjoyed that
I really enjoyed the beautiful décor and unique atmosphere of this restaurant – it has a warm, inviting vibe that makes you want to stay longer. However, the food unfortunately didn’t match my personal taste. The dishes looked nice but I found the flavors underwhelming compared to my expectations. Service was decent and staff were polite, but the waiting time for the food was quite long. Overall, for me, it was more about the setting than the food.
Amazing atmosphere 🪄great sitting area, good service and friendly staff. Very small portions considering the cost but the taste was great!
