Opinions de Bread N Wine Brooklyn
Hands down one of the most satisfying fried chicken sandwiches you can find in Brooklyn. The chicken is perfectly crisp with a light, crunchy coating that never feels heavy. What really stands out is the consistency. I have been ordering from here for years and the quality has never dropped, even after I moved farther away. It is the kind of place you keep coming back to because you know exactly how good it will be every single time.
The Ale House is a great place to go to have a few beers by yourself at the bar or with friends. It has a great selection—I'm partial to IPAs, and what's on offer changes frequently. The staff I know—the bartender Frank, the server Renae, and Eugene, who does both—are fine people and very friendly. The food is several steps above your average bar fare—a shoutout goes to Noë, the chef, whose specials are excellent. But if you're just looking for a burger, those are really tasty too. Also among the standard dishes is an impressive mac and cheese. Above all, the bar has character. The tin ceilings and dark wood bar and tables lend it a welcoming vibe. I've become a regular over time, and I won't go to other bars in the area anymore. The Ale House is by far the best bar in the Brooklyn Heights.
This place has the best fried chicken sandwich in Brooklyn. It’s thin and very crispy. Always consistent, been ordering it for years even after I moved to a new neighborhood. Highly recommend!
After a long day exploring NY, this place felt perfect for us - good food, great vibe and amazing service. This was the best food we've had in 3 days here and the beer selection was also a highlight. I would highly recommend this and it feels like home Ireland.
Though it's a bar, don't let that fool you, the beer selection is good and the food is great. Many restaurants don't serve salads that attractive and yummy (I had the arugula one and tried the Caesar as well) & the Red Curry was so good I couldn't believe I wasn't in little India. If you're in the area, you should check this place out! (And maybe even if you're not, go explore it!)
Great little watering hole with a surprisingly strong food offering. It looks like the normal pub-grub on the menu (burger, fish and chips) but was all really high caliber and freshly prepared. We were there on a quiet Sunday afternoon and it seems to be set-back far enough from the Dumbo tourist crowd to avoid being packed out, which is a shame for them but makes it a bit of a hidden treasure. Excellent beer options and friendly staff too.
While in Brooklyn I was riding around with my friend looking for parking to go to the park and ended up in front of this spot. We decided to get a drink while here and was served by Micho. He was a cool dude and was attentive. My friend ordered one of their beers and they had many to choose from and I ordered a pinot nior. My friend also had cheese fries. The pinot nior wasn't bad at all. My friend enjoyed the cheese fries and the beer. The bill was about $32. All in all we had a good experience.
Great food and fantastic beer selection. Henry Street Ale House is open late, which is pretty unique for the Brooklyn Heights area. The service has been kind of slow in the past, but I have no complaints beyond that. I highly recommend the burger and the wings, classic bar bites done right. They also have a taco Tuesday event every week, which I’m hoping to check out soon.
Nice atmosphere, drinks were good, lots of beer on tap, but food is pricey.
The girlfriend and I weren’t terribly impressed with this place. All the food we got was not in line with what we had expected. We were especially disappointed by the chicken tenders, which were nothing like the stereotypical chicken tender you’re going to get anywhere else. They’re battered with tiny (I mean tiny) slivers of chicken. Don’t think we will go back if we are craving bar food of any kind. Fried pickles were decent though.
Pub in Brooklyn. It is truly a Pub with big choice of draft and can beer. We got roast beef sandwich that supposed to be with the gravy and it was so dry and beef was so old not fresh at all plus fries was so saggy and greasy. Not good experience for bar food. I guess this spot is still good to hang out with friends and get a beer but food make sure you go somewhere else.
Unsure if this man owns or just runs this bar, but be warned that you can’t sit there for more than 30 seconds after taking your last sip without being asked to leave. With multiple empty tables around, we were asked/demanded to leave because we weren’t ordering another drink, despite not even having been at the bar for an hour total. So either don’t drink too fast because you’ll be kicked out regardless of the time you’ve been there, or better yet, never even go there so you don’t have to encounter this angry little man.
