Love the vibe and scones. Not sure about the dead silence, no music or background nose. Still making up my mind on that but I will definitely be back.

Small, feminist bookstore! Woman of color led and owned. They sell coffee and pastries, as well. It’s window shopping at the moment as they have the front entrance blocked.

Café + bookstore supporting writers from Latin America. There’s a restroom and a few seats both inside and outside the cafe. The cafe owner/barista is a very nice lady!

A

A bit of a disheveled (or dis-shelf-veled ;) mess visually but an incredible wealth of really great titles and authors. So many books that should be sold everywhere but never end up in mainstream bookstores. So worth the trip. Staff is very helpful and kind. Ordering online and going the delivery route is very easy. Supporting a Black-owned and woman-owned business has never been easier or more enjoyable. They also do a lot of engaging work in and with the community. Check out their website.

A

A great neighborhood spot with local passion and wonderful books. They often post new bookshop-related and personal updates on the blog, which I look forward to reading. They’ve also added ebooks and Bookshop during summer 2020. Communication on their website is clear - if you have questions check there first! There was some delay with a book I ordered but that’s to be expected and they handled everything graciously and with good communication.

J

Café con Libros is such a beloved gem. When they first opened I fell so in love with it and worried that its location might lead to its demise - but it is so special that I needn’t have worried. It fills so many needs and I am just grateful for its existence. It is a real gift to our community.

N

A gem in town. Hard to stop oneself from buying and buying more books here! Great coffee too. Wish they had more tables to spend the morning reading there. Also hope they bring more Latin American authors in translation!

M
Mary Lyn Graves

I ordered a specialty book from their online shop. I couldn't find it anywhere else and the book was delivered quickly, even with a pandemic going on and a sudden but well deserved uptick in business. All the communication was clear and easy, often answering my questions before I thought to ask them!. Honestly, Cafe con Libros is one of the only one business who's emails I look forward to reading. Very much looking forward to getting to go to the shop in person!

Was recommended this spot by the LitSociety podcast. Great matcha! Also, I am always searching for reads that resonate with my latine experience. I was exited to see the rich book selection of not only the latin diaspora, but Asian, African, and Caribbean. The barista was friendly and helpful.

Amazing!!!! Bookstore band coffee shop. Such a cute vibe, dope selection and the owners are there, involved and care about the customers. First time there today and really fell in love with it. The perfect place to get lost in your weekend read.

S

Feminists place and bookshop from the beginning. very nice espresso. just find out that so called feminists still wait some man buy them coffee and therefore, it does not generate income at all. which was very sorry because the coffee is really very tasty, so the feminist component was removed by the owners and now it's just a very good café with a library, the library is still feminist

Cafe con Libros is a quaint, cozy Cafe/ bookstore. Where people come to order their Java and read interesting books. While sitting outside in front of the bookstore enjoying the morning breeze. They also have a book club. A beautiful tribute to the communit.📚

I ordered a few books from Cafe con Libros in hopes of supporting a local business owned by a BIPOC. It took a little while for my orders to arrive (not their fault but the wholesalers I would assume) but they were super communicative and transparent about order and shipping times throughout the entire wait. I’ll definitely be ordering from them and can’t wait to visit their location!

T

Anything and everything I want to study, learn read about WOC and queers of color. And if they dont got it they can order it. And the book club subscription, yooooo, the stories are amazing, the writing is eloquent, and everything on the list is fantastic. Ive gifted a few when I run outta time to read everything. But I give it my best shot and the owner is brilliant. Everything about her exudes community in sharing books.

This business is a dream—walked in, sipped on a delicious oat latte, and got into a discussion on gatekeeping in the publishing/book industry, community-building, and the queering of genres with the owner who might be the coolest person I’ve ever met. I will be spending all of my time and money here whenever I can.

5 STARS! Cozy, eclectic space with warm and friendly staff and customers. It can in today to knock out some emails. Sitting in the window seat felt like nestling up at a chill friend's house while they're doing their own thing. I'll be back. :)

So grateful for this spot existing! Really appreciate the way books are labeled by theme (misogynoir, disability justice, ect) and the bookseller/barista is excellent: simultaneously warm and professional, a gracious presence. The coffee was perfect.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! It is a little quaint coffee shop that serves spectacular espresso. I have tried most of the drinks and never was disappointed. The coffee is very fresh and the cappuccino is similar to Joe's in grand central. It looks like a decent place to meet friends over coffee. Also, the service is quick enough if you need to grab a quick drink on the go.

Attending a book reading there was how I learned about this store. I first met the owners, who are friendly and welcoming, and after that I hosted a number of my own neighborhood activities there. They create a fantastic chai latte and are accommodating and helpful. It's a terrific, inexpensive spot to hire for a small event, perfect for kids, and has a large selection of worthwhile items to browse and buy. awaiting my upcoming visit!

I have not had the pleasure of dining at Cafe Con Libros. However, this morning I placed a call for help with an order for a particular book and was connected to Sage(sp). The service was immediately caring, patient, professional and set the bar for what to expect when interacting with a professional. And while the book was not available at the location, I plan to make it a point to visit Cafe Con Libros based on the lovely and memorable service I received dyeing my call. To all that have the opportunity to read this review, and you are deciding whether to give this spot a visit, I encourage you to do so. Thank you, again, Sage and thank you to the team for hiring such great associates to represent your business! Peace, light, laughter and balance ❤️

I was on a quest to find a wedding book gift for a dear friend, and I was determined to choose wisely where to spend my hard-earned dollars. Then, I stumbled upon a gem thanks to Yelp: Cafe Con Libros! From the moment I approached, the curbside atmosphere and adorable tables and benches drew me in. But what truly touched my heart was the powerful message above the entrance: "Black, Feminist & Bookish." It resonated with me on so many levels! I thought to myself, even if they didn't have the exact book I wanted, I was definitely leaving with something special from this amazing place.

The absolute cutest bookstore/coffee tea shop! I went for an author book signing and it was adorable. It is very small but definitely mighty. There are so many great books in this little shop. I first discovered this shop by attending a book reading there. After connecting with the owners, who are warm and welcoming, I then hosted several of my own community events in their space. They are accommodating, helpful, and make a delicious chai latte! It's a great, affordable place to rent for a small gathering, good for children, and have a wide variety of valuable material to peruse and purchase. Looking forward to my next visit!

Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away, and then Christmas is coming. It’s the time to get cozy, and Café con Libros comes to my mind; I love their coffee, the matcha tea, and the carrot muffin, all the muffins to be exact :p Besides, it’s always nice to hear neighbors and costumers greeting each other. I truly value their atmosphere. The mornings are magical to get some work done and relax. Prices are great. Books curation it’s outstanding, they have every single book that I heard you “must-read” if you consider yourself a feminist. Plus, as an artist that is showcasing her work there, the communication and expectation have been great. I highly recommend Café con Libros, supporting small, independent and feminist bookstore it’s the best gift that you can give to yourself.

Sought out the space specifically because it was owned by Panamanians...however, I found reception was chilled and felt they were less comfortable with people of color. They do however make a great cup of coffee and latte.

I signed up for their book club in 2021 as a gift to my wife. She recently asked me to cancel and found that I was unable to log into their site using any of my email addresses so I contacted them by email on May 15th requesting the cancellation. On the 17th, they asked which service it was for and I let them know 3 minutes after their request. It took another 5 days to process the cancellation and I was charged for another month since it was not handled in a timely enough manner. I did leave a voicemail asking that they reach out and process a refund since my request was made to cancel before my charge date. Will amend or remove review depending on their response.
