Opinions de Cafe Mogador Brooklyn
Truly exquisite! The appetizers, main course, and dessert were indescribably delicious. The ambiance and service were excellent. I highly recommend it and would definitely return. Good price and delicious food 👌🏼 We order to start Labne w/ zahatar, Babaganush, Hummus For entrance Moroccan tagine with Lamb Shank with couscous plus Casablanca chickpeas, raisins, caramelized onions / Salmon and Duck uffff marvelous! And for dessert strawberry and ruibarbo cramble with vanilla ice cream 👌🏼
Food was delish! We ate the hummus was the best part of the meal. Ate it before we could get a pic of it. We went between lunch and dinner so missed the rush, which made it quieter.
Always a fantastic experience at both locations and last night was no different! Staff is always attentive, friendly, and efficient while still creating a cool and relaxing atmosphere. Food is always insane and there’s basically no bad dishes on the menu, although the Moroccan Fish Tagine, and Greek salad with chicken are my favorites. Special shoutout to Eric for the great service and for recommending the labne cheesecake.
I had a lovely time here. The food was great and the service was fast. Nice assortment of middle eastern dishes to choose from.
Delicious Moroccan food 😋. One of the best we tried in NYC. Great interior. Amazing stuff. Delicious drinks. Must stop by when in Williamsburg.
My friend and I were exploring Brooklyn and found Cafe Mogador in the neighborhood. So glad we stopped in because the ambiance here was immaculate and the food was so flavorful. We did a walk-in instead of reservation so the wait was a bit long, but we did come in on a Friday night and the restaurant was on the smaller side and was packed. The food wait was also on the longer side, but again, it was a busy Friday night. Hummus/Falafel Platter (5/5): The hummus was on the grainier side, which is my preference because I love the texture. The falafel was beautifully green in the middle, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. This was a well-made staple. Merguez Sausage Rice Plate (5/5): I don't know how they make their sausage, but it was so flavorful with a subtle kick that paired so incredibly well with the cucumber yogurt and rice for the perfect bite. The presentation of the sausage on the rice made me laugh a bit and slightly skeptical but it was simply delicious. Lamb Tangine w/ Charmoulla Green Herbs & Couscous (4/5): The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender, and did not have that strong distinct lamb odor at all. The slight tartness of the charmoulla herb sauce cuts the heaviness of the meat, so I didn't get sick of the giant dish after a few bites of the meat. I took off 1 point because I felt like it didn't pair well with the couscous, but that's just a personal opinion.
Tasty Moroccan food, lovely atmosphere and really amazing and friendly staff. This was our first and last stop in New York, and on the first day, we got plenty of recommendations from our server. It was a great spot to kick-off our vacation, so much so that we returned just before our departure.
Amazing food - chicken kebab pita was delicious! Chicken was moist flavorful and almost melt in your mouth! Highly recommend!
Great food and great service in a relaxed setting! I sat at the bar because it was fairly busy, but the two bartenders were masters of their craft! Managed to give great suggestions and served great looking cocktails! I had wine but the options were eclectic and I enjoyed! I got the lamb tagine and it was amazing! Will definitely stop by again whenever I am in the area!
This place was amazing. The food, the atmosphere.. I would highly recommend. we got the blackened chicken and the couscous w/chicken and both dishes were delicious. The place does get packed so there is a bit of a wait time but totally worth it!
Cafe Mogador came highly recommended by my friends. Stopped by takeout for lunch. I ordered a chicken kebab sandwich. I also ordered a cold brew at the bar. Ky was there and she was super friendly. (If I'm butchering the name, I'm sorry. This is what I had in my notes :/) She kept checking in with me to make sure I was doing ok. Chicken sandwich held up well after some time. Meat was cooked well. I would definitely want to try the other items on their menu! Follow the adventure @shoyuthebest on IG!
Had a weekday lunch here recently with a friend. It was my first visit to this branch, having been a long time customer of the E Village location. We sat outside in the covered garden and it was very pleasant. Since I usually go for the middle eastern egg dish, I decided to try the burger. It was delicious, cooked perfectly and came on a toasted english muffin. Will return!
Guys listen omg for breakfast let’s yes I said let’s because I’ll be joining whom ever 🥴🤣, I wanted a nice place to relax, do some studying while having breakfast and this place did just that…PHIBBY was amazing and very attentive ( ask for her she will take care of you) the service was outstanding, the food was fresh and very delicious, the atmosphere well I sat outside so it was amazing. They are open from 10am-11pm.
Went here for dinner and it was fabulous!! Busy but not overly loud or crazy. The vibe was just right! The food was delicious. I highly recommend the Apricot and prune lamb shank tangines. The mint tea was yummy with fresh mints. They have indoor dining and outdoor dining. The service was friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend this place for a meal when in the Williamsburg area!
5 stars especially for the halloumi cheese with basil and the couscous with lamb shank!! Absolutely delicious. Beautiful and cozy too. And they have highchairs
Since I was food touring I did not have an actual meal. I got a series of appetizers that were all delicious. I've never had labne before. It was a super creamy, delicious suprise paired with their made in-house pita. We also have the marinated beets and falafel, both really good. The falafel had great texture and flavor. And, most importantly, they also had great cocktails.
Absolutely delicious! The challah french toast was the best french toast I have EVER had! So glad I finally tried this place because it instantly became a new favorite!
We stumbled upon this little gem after popping into another cafe for breakfast and leaving (other cafe didn’t have pancakes and that was a deal breaker LOL) So, Cafe Mogador DOES have pancakes and incredible pancakes at that. It tasted like funnel cake with the powered sugar, we were blown away. Must have forgotten to take of photo, oops. Everything our lovely servers recommended to us was amazing. Wished they had hollandaise for the eggs Benedict but they only have it on weekends, but food was delish even without. It was breakfast/brunch and we had gelato too. The mint tea to wrap up the meal was simply delightful Will be back for sure!!
Cafe Mogador is a small, cozy haven tucked away in the heart of the city, and my recent experience left me thoroughly impressed. While the service was a tad slow, the key is to plan ahead and order everything at once. The wait was worth it as the Moroccan Tagines with lamb shank and stewed apricot and prunes exceeded my expectations. The lamb was incredibly tender, and to my delight, there was no overpowering lamb smell, perfect for someone like me who can be picky about lamb dishes. For appetizers, the crispy cauliflowers and hummus were impeccable, scoring a solid 10/10. The tabbouleh, while not my favorite, still held its ground with a 5/10. The matbucha was a delightful surprise, earning a well-deserved 10/10, and even though I'm not a huge fan of halloumi, my friends enjoyed it, giving it a respectable 6/10. Surprisingly, on a bustling Saturday night, we didn't have to wait in line, defying the norm as per my friends' experiences. The cocktails were not only delicious but also beautifully presented, adding an extra touch to the overall dining experience. Speaking of my friends, they are already regulars at Cafe Mogador, and after this delightful evening, I can confidently say that I will be joining their ranks. The combination of a warm ambiance, delectable dishes, and efficient service (despite the slight delay) makes Cafe Mogador a gem in the city that's well worth a visit.
Great little Mediterranean spot in Brooklyn. You might want to make a reservation if you want a table because it was extremely busy even during the week. I ended up sitting at the bar but I didn't mind because I got great service. They even have Turkish coffee. So awesome. Everything I ate was amazing and they have vegan options. The wines by the glass are excellent. Highly recommended!!
Cafe Mogador obviously doesn't need my 5 star review, as we agree with all the other reviewers of this awesome Moroccan restaurant. Loved the vibe and the food, especially the Chicken Tagine, Calamari and Baklava. The Ginger martini was amazing! Shout out to our waitress Ronnie, thanks for the great service. Just wish we lived closer, Cafe Mogador would be in heavy rotation!
All the food here was amazing and so worth the wait. We waited around 30 minutes after being told it would be around 45 and the hostess was so lovely about the whole thing. The lamb shank and sauce were absolutely incredible. I really loved the duck confit too and the arugula was a nice touch to balance out the heaviness. The harissa ketchup was so addictive as well. We weren’t even very hungry going in but the menu just sounded too good and we were so glad we tried everything. Mango martini was nicely fruity. The cheesecake was good but I kind of wanted something more from it flavor-wise to make it pop and round off the dinner more. The interior was a lot bigger than I expected and there was ample outdoor seating as well. There is a bathroom inside and a little waiting area right outside the restaurant.
The Morrocan Benedict was a nice variation of the Classic Eggs Benedict and went well with the blood orange mimosa. As much as I like the Cafe Mogador at Saint Mark's Place in Manhattan, it can get crowded on weekends during brunch. This locations seems to have more room and might be the better alternative during the weekends.
Must go. Solid for dinner, but phenomenal for breakfast. Get the Morrocan eggs with a side of hummus and fresh pita. Usually a 10-30 minute wait on the weekends. Reserve if you can. During the summer, their greenhouse backyard is open which is beautiful to wait in with a drink while you wait for your table. Definitely add this place to your list of restaurants to try if you’re in Brooklyn.
We sat in the sunroom with all the plants. Got that earthy vibe. The place had cool Moroccan decor and the food was delicious. The menu was simple yet had plenty of options. Would definitely go back.
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Brooklyn and all of the Tri-State! I’ve been to both locations and I’m never let down! They use the finest quality ingredients and you can taste it every time. It’s like be transported across the ocean to Morocco when you dine here. The staff here at the BK establishment we’re great! They were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, courteous about any sensitivities (including sugar) and quick to address any of our needs. The food came out in a timely manner and the dinner service felt great with a good pace. Not rushed, or served anything “lukewarm” or stale. I have to say that the soup of the day was stellar! Perfectly seasoned, without the want or need to even add a tsp of salt! Then the tabouli was bright and refreshing. We tried the pita and that tasted homemade and was so delicious we had to have more. The sauce for the tagine was divine and the skewers tasted “clean”. Fresh delicious food that had me leaving the table feeling full but not sluggish as one might feel with fried foods. The coffee and tea also were a delight. If you’re in the area, this is certainly a stop you want to make on your food tour!
The food, the atmosphere, and service... all top notch! My husband has allergies, and they even checked the wine ingredients to make sure he was okay. They were so attentive. We went to this restaurant at least 5 times and each time was better than before. We will definitely go back for more.
Good Mediterranean and Moroccan inspired dishes with a thoughtful menu and crafty mix of ingredients. Bastilla was extremely unique and tasteful, something I would never normally order but absolutely worth it. Same with the matbucha. They have a blackened chicken as well, that I guarantee you have never had anything like it before. Lots of new things to try at this spot. Service was on point with great outdoor and indoor seating.
The food was incredible, the service was fantastic and the drink with mezcal was very well balanced. I ended up getting the lemon herb sauce chicken tagine with basmati rice and my friend got the lamb shank with apricots and both were delicious, very tender. We also had mezze which were tapas style, everything was good for sharing amongst 6 people, but we ordered 2 fried halloumi which come with 3 pieces each and 2 arabic salads. The vegan lemon olive oil cake was everyone's favorite!
We went for a friend's birthday dinner. We all had a great time, as I had previously been here but a lot of our group had not. But there isn't anything I the menu worth trying and having. Would recommend for those that want to try Moroccan/Mediterranean food or already like. Got a few tangines, few mezze plates hummus and Falaffel and a number of sorbets for desert w the olive oil cake 🍰. All so good 😊
We came for a quick bite after hearing great things about Cafe Mogador from friends and reviewers. My boyfriend loved the Chicken Tagine with the apricots and plums!!! The hummus was authentic and gone within minutes. We cannot wait to come back for more. I came back another time with my sister and niece to experience the brunch menu. I was so impressed with the fresh ingredients and flavor in each dish. I loved the Greek Salad, which was perfectly made from the light dressing to the variety of textures. My sister loved her Moroccan eggs, using every drop off the sauce with her bread and couscous. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re looking for fresh flavors and delicious food.
Solid brunch spot in Williamsburg. Do expect a wait, but know that it’ll be worth it once you get seated. The brunch menu is lengthy and you really cannot go wrong. We opted for the salmon cake sandwich & the chicken pita sandwich. Both had great flavor and we left very full. Also, the wait staff is incredibly friendly!
We made a reservation for 5:30 on a Friday and I’m glad we did. By 6 PM the place was packed. The restaurant was dim lit with cozy vibes. We got the chance to sit in the back room, which was filled with plants which made the air fresh. We ordered the hummus and falafel and the lamb with couscous. The couscous was amazing and the lamb literally fell off the bone. The drinks were good, but expensive considering the size.
Good brunch place with an atmospheric inside area and a terrace. Gets pretty busy, but we were able to get a table without any wait at 12pm on a Sunday. Great brunch options - a twist of a Moroccan place with traditional brunch options. The Moroccan tea was really nice. The food was tasty and filling.
The atmosphere is truly amazing! There are traditional dishes special to Morocco, but I can say that the same time, menu is so close to middle east cuisine... The hummus plate was delicious... traditional tagine, I chose chicken and green spicy sauce( parsley, cilantro, and garlic). I would definitely like you to go and try it, only the couscous was like very small pieces, it was not at all good for my taste, but a valid note to total!
Overall, a solid dining experience. Everything I tried was flavorful, especially the lamb, which was cooked perfectly and full of taste. The rice was also nicely done and complemented the meal well. However, the chicken wings were a bit of a letdown—too small for my liking, so personally, I wasn’t a fan of those. That said, the drinks were on point and definitely added to the experience. If you’re looking for a place with good food and drinks, this spot is worth checking out, though I’d skip the wings next time.
Everything was good to great. The only reason I ranked door at 4 stars instead of 5 is the quantity of food provided for the price charged COMPARED to other nearby restaurants we eat at for breakfast where real estate values and help should be comparable. We will definitely come back because the atmosphere is quaint and the service is great. Thanks!
Super good! We came during a super busy dinner service and miraculously snagged a table. Waitresses are all super nice and friendly, and even though it was really busy they did their best to keep things moving at our table. The lamb shank is delicious, tender, and juicy and the sauce is flavorful as well. The basmati rice is also flavored nicely. My favorite part was the dessert! The vegan olive oil lemon cake was so good. I'm usually skeptical of vegan options on menus, but this cake tasted better than some non-vegan lemon cakes I've had.
Best breakfast ive had in years. Hit the spot. We ate the Herbed omelet with labne and the omelet with hummus and salad. They give you enough zaatar pita so you dont need to ask for more like every other place. Loved it. Good prices too.
This place is a great Moroccan restaurant! 🇲🇦 Cafe Mogador in Brooklyn 🗽 serves an nice selection of authentic Moroccan dishes 🍽️ - definitely try the Tagine 🍲, Hummus, Moroccan Tea🍵, and Cheesecake! 🍰 Staff 👨🍳 is friendly and professional, and the service is quick. ⏲️ I wish I came here sooner!
Wow. Mediterranean cuisine is among my favorite and this did not disappoint. I had a Fish Tagine which was the special. It was fantastic. There was a single steak of fish (some unnamed generic white fish) which was perfectly cooked. The dish is a spicy tomato "stew" the carrots and potatoes where so firm and yet evenly cooked through the 2 inch cubes it really was a perfect low simmer. The spice level was also dead on perfect. I eat Indian wuth green chili's.. And this was made by people who eat spicy food and know there way around a pepper. It had just the right amount of heat to compliment the potatoes but leave room for the morrocan spices. You couldn't taste the fish through the sauce but that's not really the point of the dish anyway. It reminded me of a dish I used to eat at a Portuguese restaurant from when I was young, and I will definitely be trying to recreate this is my own kitchen. Service was considering how busy it was and it was total hipster vibes.
I had an outstanding experience at this Mediterranean-inspired restaurant. We ordered several mezze to share, and honestly, they were probably the best I’ve ever had. Everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly executed. The bread alone was amazing. The service was impressively fast — we were served in under ten minutes — without ever feeling rushed. We started with wine, then had coffee, and I finished with a cocktail, which was excellent as well. Every part of the experience flowed seamlessly. We sat at the bar, which added to the experience. The staff was extremely kind and attentive, the atmosphere felt cozy yet refined — luxurious without being over the top. You can really feel the quality and care in every detail. Even the restrooms were spotless. An impeccable experience from start to finish. I will definitely come back and highly recommend this place without hesitation.
Private members club, so no photos—but honestly, it doesn’t need them. Everything was exceptional. The interior is stunning and thoughtfully designed, the service was attentive and seamless, and the food was outstanding. Excellent wine selection with something for every palate, and the dessert was truly next level. Bonus: there’s an on-site store where you can purchase sporty merch with the Kith Ivy logo—super cute and a fun touch that completes the experience. ✨🍷🍰🛍️
Friendly staff / Arabic Breakfast was super delicious alongside the banana pancakes 🤤. OJ was freshly squeezed and pulpy. My personal favorite so it’s okay. Espresso is really REALLY strong so be prepared for the coffee, either way it’s good. Service from our waiter was perfect. Silverware was clean, bathroom was clean and there’s enough space to be seated for all group sizes. Strongly recommend anyone that would be interested in a healthy and delicious mediterranean diet. Best bang for your buck in the area too!
Delicious moroccan food and ideal for a night out with friends. It is not ridiculously expensive either, we spent 93 USD (Including tax and tip) for two people having a starter and two main dishes, no alcohol though. The place is big and the wait is bearable as they contact you via SMS when the table is ready.
Incredible food and unreliable service The host and first server were rude to our friend who arrived before us. We had a couple other servers stop by to fill water, take orders, or ask about dessert. Service felt both rushed and inattentive That being said, food was amazing. Highly recommend the lamb shank tagine
Sometimes the best dining experiences happen by chance. We didn’t have a reservation, but thanks to a last-minute no-show, we were seated right away — lucky doesn’t even begin to cover it. The evening started with a glass of blanc de blanc, crisp and celebratory, setting just the right tone. The food exceeded expectations: a melt-off-the-bone lamb shank served with perfectly seasoned rice, and a beautifully prepared duck confit, rich and satisfying without being overwhelming. Both dishes balanced comfort with refinement. Service was smooth and attentive, never rushed, and the atmosphere added to the sense that we had stumbled into something special. What could have been an ordinary night turned into one of those meals you remember for all the right reasons.
We ordered two lamb shank tagines and bastilla, the meat on the tagines was a pretty generous amount on the bone. My only minor complaint was that the meat could've been more tender. The prunes and apricot sauce is really sweet so just beware in case you want something a bit more savory (recommend the Casablanca sauce instead) The bastilla was a bit dry so that wasn't really my preference, wouldn't order that again. Overall, the food is pretty good, just a a few minor things that I personally did not prefer.
We had such a great experience dining here! From the moment we sat down, everything felt thoughtful and delicious. We started with the watermelon feta salad, which was the perfect balance of sweet and salty—super refreshing. The garlic shrimp appetizer was packed with flavor, and the hummus platter with naan was creamy, smooth, and beautifully presented. The highlight was definitely the special za’atar chicken entrée—so tender and full of rich, herby flavor. And let’s not forget the harissa hot sauce—wow! Spicy in the best way, and it added such a great kick. For dessert, we tried the labne cheesecake and the crème brûlée—both were fantastic. The cheesecake had a tangy, velvety texture, and the brûlée was perfectly torched on top. Everything from the food to the service made us feel welcome and taken care of. Thank you for such a lovely meal—we’ll definitely be back!
We were starving coming out of the bathhouse and decided to dine here. The Haloumi Cheese first bite brought us to heaven, followed by an insane couscous chicken. That Casablanca black sour slightly sweet sauce was the best. Humus with nan wrapped up a wonderful anniversary evening for us in the garden.
Stopped by chance late in the afternoon on a holiday. The interior is a unique mix of antique and modern touches, which made it fun to look around, and the back terrace area with all the plants had a really natural vibe. I was excited to see the brunch and lunch menu since there were so many dishes that looked like my style, but since we arrived close to 4pm, only the dinner menu was available. We each ordered a wine and a beer, and shared the Mixed Grill. Even though I don’t usually like sausage, everything—including the sausage—was really tasty. I didn’t get to try much this time, but I’m definitely coming back for brunch or lunch next time!
Café Mogador is one of those places that just gets it right. We were sitting in their gorgeous indoor garden terrace, and honestly—it felt like I got on a plane and landed in Morocco. The vibe, the colors, the smells, the music… everything was giving full Moroccan escape, without ever leaving the city. The food? Absolutely exceptional. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor—warm spices, perfect textures, just so satisfying. You can taste the love and tradition in every bite. The service was also great—attentive, kind, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we sat down. Highly recommend if you want to feel transported, eat delicious Moroccan food, and just have a beautiful, cozy experience. Already planning my next visit!
I got the lamb shank with couscous, my friend got the kebab mix. Oh my god, both of us said it’s the best food we had in a year. And one of the best meal in life! It was nothing fancy, the food is subtle with different flavours kicks back. We stayed over a week in whole NYC. Best meal we had. I had Gordon Ramsey made Beef Wellington before. I would say the amount of happiness and taste is at the same level but fraction of the price

One of my new favorite places in Williamsburg! The interior is dark, moody but comfortable. Feels like a nice neighborhood cafe. The service was attentive but not overbearing. The food! Wow, I was …

Charming, friendly, pleasant atmosphere, fresh, flavorful, wonderfully prepared dishes. Had the sausage couscous, loved it. If you enjoy middle eastern flavors seek this place out. The decor, good service, and outstanding dishes will deliver a delightful dining experience.
We went in a group of 7, two of us arrived early and our table was not ready so they invited us to stand by the bar. We had their two mocktails and liked both a lot, as well as their mint lemonade, however, the drinks are essentially 70% ice. We shared their dips and they were all fantastic (best hummus I can remember having)! I tried several entrees from my friends and all were good quality but none stood out. I liked a lot their cheesecake, it has light and tangy. Service was generally pretty good and the place is very cozy, specially the back.
The food here was great. However, the lamb shank tasted like it was not lamb, but of goat. The mezze platter was good, and the eggplant was our favorite. Also, the pomegranate gelato was amazing. Wish the seating wasn’t so cramped. Drinks seemed to take forever to be brought out for a lemonade and mint tea.
Not many places can make me to make more than 2 train transits and this one is one of them. Don’t think it is worth the while but still liked the spices. The day was rainy and we had to sit outside. The food was initially semi-soaked with the rain so we weren’t entirely happy, though the food were great. Generally tried three things: The hummus with pita Pita is so soft and stretchy! A bit puffy and nice to go with hummus. I wish I saved some to eat with the meat but the pita was so good just on its own. The hummus was fine, nothing really special. The mixed grill The grill combo of sausage, chicken kebab, and lamb kefta. The char on the skewers were nice touches, but the flavors didn’t wow me: it is something I would expect to know the flavors. Lamb shank Tender and sweet, as we ordered with the sauce with chickpeas, raisins, and caramelized onions. The meat is very very tender and was cooked and served in the traditional Moroccan tagine pot. It was finished before we could snap a photo (so order it lol) No desserts as we are stuffed. Do reserve and try to go on a sunny day. Even if you have to wait, the Brooklyn location in Williamsburg has many other fun things to offer so guests can take their sweet time (if they do not get hangry).
Good food and a cozy ambience. Full service at the bar, avoids the wait times. Reservation recommended. We tried the Moroccan tea which was very good with fresh mint and Hummus platter as an appetizer. Chicken kebabs with basmati rice was yum and the lamb shank Moroccan tagine with the spicy mint sauce was delicious.
Must order MOROCCAN TAGINES lamb shank with stewed apricot & prunes. Lamb is soft and very tasty. Also, FROM THE GRILL mixed grill is good to try various kind of meats. Great place with cozy vibe. We didn’t make a reservation, just walk in around 17:30, the staff got us seated directly. Inner decor is stylish. Comfortable to dine in. There are outside seating if you’d wish.
Arrived around 6pm with no booking and we were offered a table outside or at the bar, where we could eat or we could get a drink and wait for a table to come up on the restaurant floor which they estimated at 20-25 mins. We opted to have a drink at the bar and a table came up in the restaurant within 10-15 mins which was great. Service was excellent, friendly and prompt but not pushy. We got the hummus and babaganoush to start - hummus was good. Have had better babaganoush. Bread would have been a better eating experience if it was warm but was soft and pillowy. Mains I got the zatar chicken special - chicken was super juicy and delicious! Partner went for the lamb coucous - needs a little more sauce going on but otherwise nice. Meals are huge - you’re better to share one main between two! Cocktails were lovely. A very nice night
Service: 5-Stars - We had to ask for manual changes, an increase in party and seating accommodations, which they handled with grace, efficiency and a huge smile! Ambiance is quaint and Middle East-esque, without being offensive or overbearing. Food is delish, some dishes better than others. The Falafal Hummus Platter arrives with a nice saucer-plate size amount of Hummus but would do better with six (6) Falafals instead of four (4). They're good but both Hummus and Falafals NEED a touch of salt to bring out their best flavors. Same with the Lamb Shanks in the Tagine dishes. Both Tagines needed accompanying sauces, the Chickpea with Caramelized Onions and the Chermoulla to make the lamb sing. However, the best sauce was the garlicky, herby Chermoulla, which should be bottled and sold. We HAD TO request MORE!!! The Grilled Lamb Keftas were seasoned well and charred nicely over a bed of Jasmine rice and grilled tomatoes. The Kale salad was mountainous with matchstick cut added red apple slivers. It comes dressed in a light vinaigrette. A grilled piece of Salmon was added, which turned it into a full-sized meal. We had a small bowl of both their hot sauce, which, again, needed salt to be its best and their ketchup, which was delish. The ketchup tasted housemade but could've been a premium organic brand. It was tangy and full of flavor. We used the ketchup to flavor the Falafals and Hummus. The Cheesecake is lemon based, not too tart. Homemade crust was a cross between shortbread and Graham cracker crust. The texture of the cake was a mix between light and dense, like Cheesecake Factory & Junior's had a lovechild. It was covered in a mild Caramel sauce with four (4) slivers of red apples. Really good! They had a good variety of cocktails and Old World wines, with a decent mix of styles: Alvarinos, Lambeuscos and CdPs. The table RAVED about their fresh Lemonade. It was REALLY good! Also, strong Turkish coffee to end the night. Overall, excellent dining experience and would definitely return with more family and friends!
Came for a late Saturday brunch. Sat outside since it was packed indoors - not ideal but it is what it is. I had the Moroccan benedict. It was pretty good, not the best I've ever had but solid. Husband had the pancakes which he loved. Overall decent experience, maybe would have enjoyed it more if we sat indoors. I don't feel it really lives up to the hype but it's not bad either.
I came here on a date for brunch, and while the date itself left more to be desired, this cafe was absolutely fantastic. Within this eatablishment is a hustling and bustling cafe, yet it never felt frantic and uncontrolled inside. The staff were busy yet never overwhelmed and their service was excellent. We were seated quickly and presented the menu right as we sat down. Our waiter was great at explaining the unique offerings. We both opted to get eggs Benedict, where I got the Moroccan and she got the Norwegian. She also had a plain coffee while I tried their Elderflower Rosemary Spritz. She said her coffee was good. My Spritz was pretty good, although I didn't taste much of the Elderflower in it. The food itself was fantastic. We didn't get to try each other's food but both of us kept commenting on the speed of preparation, presentation, and the flavors. The spicy tomato sauce they gave us on the side was indeed spicy, but full of flavor. I put it all over my food. The eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly, and the accompanying side salad was a nice finish to the entree. I wish the portions were bigger, but they were definitely suffice to say the least We opted to share a cheesecake afterwards. I don't remember what kind it was. It had a topping reminiscent to a gravy made of apples and cinnamon, and it came with some slices on the side. The cheesecake was fantastic and it was pretty hard for me to not destroy it in seconds in front of my date, as we were sharing it. Overall, Cafe Mogador was an excellent place for brunch. I would definitely recommend it if you wanted to go on a date, or even to catch up with a friend. The location isn't too crazy in terms of parking too, as I found it right around the corner. We did visit on a Sunday, so that could have been a factor. It's also worth noting that there's a park nearby where you could walk afterwards, and the view is really nice. It would make a perfect end to a brunch here. High recommended by yours truly. The only reason I didn't opt for 5 stars was the lack of flavor in the Spritz. I also think the pricing is a little high in relation to the portions of the food. Don't let any of that deter you from visiting however, as this restaurant was still amazing. Shame that my date wasn't as good as this cozy restaurant, but had I not gone, I may have never found this hidden gem
It was my first time trying Moroccan food. I was very pleased with the food, but I wouldn’t say it is the most delicious food I have had. I was still impressed by the taste. I am giving it 4 stars because it was pricey and very small plate for the price. I’d love to try more stuff on their menu. 😁
Super yummy dips and Greek salad. We got the chicken added to it and it was delicious! One thing that was not my favorite was the falafel but otherwise loved it
Great ambiance in the patio. I ordered the lamb with couscous. The meat was cooked tender and the sauce enhanced the flavor. It is on the pricier side tho.
Excellent food ! BUT affected server! Training might help amd clearly the waiter we had Was neither trained in customer service or hospitality.

We just beat the late morning rush for brunch - our lucky day! The joint was jumping, the food was terrific, and the coffee was good. The food is Moroccan inspired but my dish had the most amazin…
I love the restaurant and atmosphere but I just felt like it lacked a bit of flavor😭 My husband loves the food and flavor, though and it seems like most do too! I dont know, I just felt like the tagines wasnt as flavorful as I was expecting, the Middle Eastern Breakfast too.
I don't understand what these people are raving about. the food has gotten so mid here. pita bread is cheap :( and overall flavors lack the intensity I would expect for a Moroccan place
We were 3 of us who decided to drop by Cafe Mogador for brunch on Saturday at around noon. We were told that the wait would be 30 mins but managed to get a table within 20 mins. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming. Their garden area is really good but wasn't open for seating. It was relatively cold outside in what felt like a spring day. We ordered the Mediterranean Breakfast ($19) at the bar while waiting for our table and I got a Mimosa ($10). The Mediterranean flavors on the plate were quite interesting, but nothing spectacular. The mimosa on the other hand was really good! For food, I got the Greek Salad with Chicken ($13 + $5) which was just okay. Again, nothing amazing about it and the Chicken wasn't that great. Service overall was really good and the entire staff is quite friendly. We had a good experience overall, but food is just okay and there was nothing outstanding about it.
The place was lovely, especially the back area filled with plants, creating a very cozy atmosphere. We ordered the hummus, which was absolutely delicious. However, the spicy carrots were a letdown—they were served cold and the sauce didn't make up for the uninspiring preparation. The chicken tagine was the most disappointing dish; while the couscous was good, the dish contained barely any chicken and was mostly bone. Despite the hit-and-miss food, the drinks were delicious. We might come back just to try the breakfast, but overall, it's not a place we'd revisit for dinner.
Overall I love the vibe here. They even have a patio space. I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by for some food. Pita Sandwich, highly recommended. Amazing flavor generous portion and it comes with a fresh salad. Honestly I think it tastes even better than the hummus. Salmon Benedict, would not recommend. The flavors felt a bit off and I actually found small bones in the fish which made it hard to enjoy especially with the potatoes. It could definitely be executed in a more flavorful and refined way.
The food looked nice from a Google search so I decided to give it a try for dinner. A little taste of home for a North African who has missed it for a while. The food was fine for the most part other than some vegetables in the couscous being undercooked. Other than the laughable hipster vibe they're obviously catering to, the service was a joke and the music was too loud. I want to eat in a restaurant, not a club. Our waitress didnt check back in the whole time after taking our order and we had to flag her down for the check. Another gripe was the weird table we got, sandwiched between a round table and a column. We asked for a change but no luck. All in all, if the focus could shift from ambience to food and service, this place has potential.
Same food you can get in Queens like Steinway, Ditmars, and Jackson Heights. Just gentrified foods that are pricey. Service was horrible. Don’t pay attention to requests and wait time was too long. Atmosphere is nothing special. Total of 1.5 stars. Never wanna come back again. Another bad experience
