We went here on our weekend break, omg it was the best! We had a bartender called felix he made our night, could NOT have asked for a better bartender! So attentive and receptive, I LOVE it here
Great surroundings and awesome neighborhood vibe. The bartenders take care of you, and there's always something going on in the park. Tonight was movie night. We didn't stay for the show, but the people watching was great and the atmosphere was a lot of fun.
We just stopped to grab some hot chocolate while we were there and I'm very shocked to say that it was the best hot chocolate we bought while we were there haha. Also the bartender was super nice! Great little pit stop while checking out all the Christmas shops!
I've been to this outdoor restaurant twice The food and wait staff were both great. The wait for my food was very short. The chicken wrap was great with thick pieces and in the ceasar dressing. Try it..you'll like it! Worth the stop.
Love this place. Location location location! My wife and I have a tradition of doing early Christmas shopping in NYC. We take the train in, see the tree, see the decorations in the department store windows, then walk to Bryant Park. We normally hit the library (for a bathroom stop) and then over to the porch for some beers. People watching is great from this spot and they have propane heaters to help you fight the cold. Always a good beer selection and the bartenders are friendly. We usually spend 2-3 hours sitting with a few beers and enjoying the park. Its become our tradition and it gets us into the Holiday spirit. Friendly people and a cool hustle and bustle atmosphere which is what we would expect being in the city. Cant wait to go back this year.
Very cool scene good for all. It was crowded but it was not inconvenient to get a beer or check the park scene. The park scene has lots to view too. The beer choices were nice--not to many choices but right off the bat you knew this one or that would both be fine! Attractive chill people!
Amazing place!! We had so much fun and especially bartender Felix was so much fun and offered good laughs for our group! 🙂
Great service, choice of drinks and Felix is the best!
Felix is the BEST bartender if you have the opportunity come visit him!! So sweet and excellent service!! Loved talking to him and hope to be back soon.
Most amazing place! In such a nice spot and the food and drinks were so good. We had the nicest waiter called Felix he was fab. Will definitely be back :)
Felix was amazing!! Best bartender ever! Loved hearing all his stories. Definitely made our entire visit! Fantastic!
Incredible location and service!!! Amazing spot for drinks and food with a group of friends. Felix was a great server and super friendly. Such a fab spot and would definitely recommend to anyone in New York City:)))
Felix was amazing, he served amazing drinks and kept us entertained throughout the duration of our time at the bar. Definitely tip him well!
Super friendly staff. Great service! Perfect place for drinks and food in Manhattan followed by movie in the park. Went with a group of friends and would seriously recommend!
Felix made our evening super special and fun! He was so attentive and quick. Highly recommend!
Highly Recommend - as noted by the straight 5 stars. If you go... head to the bar and be on the look out for Felix, he will say hello to you with a smile and attentively check on you, making you feel so welcome into this outdoor space that you won't want to leave. While I am more of a wine drinker, my friends and family gravitate towards the cocktails. Great service, good food,, good drinks!! Can't ask for more in an outdoor space in NYC.
This place is really fun and a nice atmosphere! We especially appreciated the service, with great hospitality. Shout out to Felix!
Left my sunglasses at the bar before going to a show. Came back after the show as they were leaving for the night, when Monique opened it back up and retrieved my sunglasses. She is amazing!
Amazing place to grab a drink! Make sure to ask for Edel as your bartender. She was the most memorable part of our NYC trip. Very attentive and made sure we were taken care and never had to ask for a refill. We will be back just to see her!
Felix is the best bartender ever!!!!! He made me the best espresso martini i’ve had in my life! incredible service! i recommend to everyone nearby!
The service was amazing! Felix made me feel wonderful with his amazing drinks! Definitely returning very soon!
We had a lovely time in this place. The bar tender Felix looked after us extremely well and was so friendly ! Drinks were perfect - I will definitely be back and would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice drink in a lovely park in the city
Sat by the bar - Felix is an amazing bartender, he was super attentive, friendly & efficient in getting my orders. The vibe around the park is beyond amazing over the summer! Definite a must come!
Love to sit down and take a drink at the Porch , Bryant Park. Great service, and the food is nice. I love their chicken wrap!
Classic New York, where diversity IS strength. The fabric of the country is woven here. The "haves" and "have-nots" are all here enjoying the oasis in the middle of mid-town. Even the bird life is diverse: a few guests dropped by around our table during lunch: Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Louisiana Water Thrush, Catbird, Common Sparrow, Rock Dove (Pidgeon).
The bar, Perfect. The scene, amazing. The staff, outrageously amazing. Felix, the team leader, makes everyone feel welcome. Had the best time in Bryant Park and Felix and his team are a big part of the fun. Bryant park and The Porch At Bryant Park are always a must see.
Felix was amazing! So thoughtful and accommodating! Will definitely be back!
Felix was very attentive and amazing! He kept us entertained and was very kind. Food and drinks were served very quick and was good. Highly recommend.
Stopped in by chance. Got directed to the bar. Our bar tender was this cute little Irish girl. She made us feel so welcome and we had the best time with her. She’s the reason we will come back. We had the sliders they was so good congrats to the chef. All in all congrats to your chef and your amazing bartender.
Felix is the absolute best. It was raining and he gave us ponchos for our bags and kept the drinks coming. I ♥️ NY
The best spot for a quick bite and drink while enjoying the views and "people watching" of Bryant Park. A bit pricey, but I get it. With a tip I paid $60 for a spicy marg and two sliders. Great place with your looking for something casual to do and the outdoor swings and seating is ideal for the ultimate selfies.
My friend and I came across this outdoor venue on Easter day. I wanted to have a nice drink watching spectacular views.. Our bartender, Felix was welcoming quick and very charismatic as we both shared, similar cultures we bonded and really enjoyed our time. In a touristy area, it is very difficult to find a good bartender who is hospitable and makes us feel welcoming. Will be coming back
Felix truly made our experience unforgettable. The drinks were absolutely amazing—crafted with care, flavor, and perfection. Beyond that, his hospitality was top-tier: welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. You can tell he loves what he does, and it shows in every detail. Thank you, Felix, for such a great experience!
Felix is an absolute gem, he made the experience unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, he was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. If you’re visiting Bryant Park, do yourself a favor and ask for Felix. He turned a great setting into a truly exceptional experience. We’ll absolutely be back because of him!
I absolutely adore this place, nice drinks, music and ambience. The bartender Felix was amazing, really nice guy that took great of us and made incredible drinks recommendations. Definitely will be coming back soon!
You guys! Get here for good vibes and nice weather! The bartenders are great - Felix is top notch and will take the best care of you! The spicy grapefruit is my favorite bev. Enjoy!
I can‘t satisfy more. Monique is an excellent manager took care of everything was very professional and caring.I’m coming back anytime whenever we come to this park. What an amazing person she is.
If you get a chance to pop in here the food is made fresh and hits the spot. You can’t beat the view of the Christmas market. Edel at the bar is “the bartender” to see. She will take care of you! The beef chili was rich in flavor and gluten free. The sliders were filling for our 13 year old and she couldn’t finish the second one. It didn’t come with French fries but that’s ok. The creamy Mac and cheese was creamy and had macaroni noodles. They accommodated 6 of us for lunch without a reservation. The outdoor tables and patio were a great welcome to New York. Fernando was a big help and made sure we were ok. Thank you!
Nice location in Bryant Park. There is a good selection of beer, wine & spirits. The food options are limited: sandwiches, salads, and french fries. I like for a break in the middle of Manhattan.
Serve wine in plastic cups but the fact you enjoy beautiful weather with glass of wine in Bryant Park counts Garden Salads with Chicken was do good.
Great place to sit and enjoy a beer in outside in Bryant Park (but cocktails $21 even during what should be happy hour time?!). The "lump" crab is anything but lump crab. It is shredded and one of the worst I have ever had, though the taro chips with it were good, the cold slaw was too sweet and smothered in sauce.
Beautiful outdoor park to have food/drinks at. Service was horrible, our waiter made it clear that he didn't want to serve us. The turkey burger was splendid. Large portion for a reasonable price.
The Porch at Bryant Park was a pleasant surprise. We were just looking for a place t get a drink and do some people watching, and we ended up getting that, and some delicious bites as well. The pricing was high, as it seems as it is in most places in NYC. The chicken salad was fresh, nicely grilled chicken, and you could tell the dressing was made from scratch. The drinks were OK, but could have been more creative in such an iconic arts location. I would definitely consider going there again, especially when the weather is so pretty.
Found my new spot to go to for lunch/afternoon drinks. My colleague and I came specifically to have a drink and their bartender, Felix was very welcoming and attentive. We didn't have a chance to order their lunch, but did have their chips & guac and just by how good that was alone, I can only imagine how good their food is so we can't wait to go back to try!
This place is a self sell spot. The area is awesome to have drink and enjoy views. The drinks were really delicious and didn’t lack spirit at all while over priced not too shabby. However the service was not up to par. When we were seated the server just said “let me know if you need anything” didn’t even suggest a drink or said “welcome”. Other than that if you’re in the area by all means enjoy a drink.
Good food, nice location but the service was lacking. Our waiter took our order and we never saw him, or anyone again. Finally the busser came to get our plates and we asked him for the check. This effort was unsuccessful. We’re probably still sitting at our table now, months later, as you are reading this review.
I used to love this place for the ambiance and drinks. Though last time I went with a friend for a snack /dinner, service was almost rude. Now orders are made in the counter as you get in and pay right away. The cashier was very impatient as we were trying to decide what to eat, (also order and pay) in such a scarce menu and then got annoyed when there was a misunderstanding just because he was in a rush to dispatch us to the table. I leave 3 stars only because of the unique location and good memories of what it was before. I would probably go back but being aware of what I may find now.
I have a love hate. It’s a great location and great concept but the experience doesn’t match the price point. $13 well cocktails is not that crazy for the area but they’re small and not strong, just a fact based on multiple experiences here. Been here several times and could seat anywhere but apparently after today there is a table-service only area. Was asked to move, which I felt was kinda tacky since it wasn’t busy. Signage wasn’t too existent for that.
Very disappointed with how the staff treated us. My 3-year-old sat on a bar stool for less than two minutes while I was paying, and the employee rudely demanded he get off — even though this is an outdoor café, not a bar with 21 age limit, and children are absolutely allowed there. Totally unprofessional and unnecessary attitude.
The location is amazing. To be overlooking Bryant Park on a beautiful summer day is dreamy. The prices are the opposite of that. They should really make park venues more family friendly. To charge $21 for a cocktail at a venue where there is no real bathroom and you are also not allowed to take out of the contained space is ridiculous. The bartender was also super overwhelmed and kept forgetting what we asked for. We were the only ones sitting at the bar when we ordered. He was sweet but seemed lost. There was only two of us and one of us ordered a can beer. Shouldn’t have been too hard. The spicy grapefruit cocktail was nice but not $21 worth.
This is a beautiful outdoor cafe right on the edge of Bryant Park. The people watching here and outdoor summer vibe is amazing. However, the location is the only reason that this place is popular. The food was not good at all (the overpowering taste on the turkey burger is dill, the plantain chips are basic, the guacamole is heavy on the garlic and onion, and the salsa was worse than salsa you'd get at the dollar store). Drinks looked ok, but along with the food were over-priced for the quality. Beautiful location. Only come for the location, people watching, and pricey drinks.
A little disappointed with rude behavior by our server, Chad. We ordered three sandwiches, and then ordered one more sandwich. When the food came out, there were three sandwiches. We politely told the server that we are still waiting for one more sandwich. They brought out a fourth sandwich and after sometimes when we had finished, they brought out a fifth sandwich, which we Told them did not belong to us.. they brought out the bill with five sandwiches on it. We had it corrected and paid. As we were exiting, Chad spoke to us very rudely and told us to organize ourselves better as we were the ones at fault for the extra sandwich. We did not argue with him, but explain the whole situation. He kept insisting in a rude tone that it was our fault. Very disappointed with the poor customer service. decent restaurant, serving decent food, in a great location, but pathetic service by one person.
The atmosphere is the best thing about this place- but you can get that just by grabbing something somewhere else and sitting in the park. We were seated, and after a few minutes the female server came over and said "what can I get you". We asked which brand sodas they had coke or Pepsi and she said "yes". We asked which one and she finally said COke. We ordered sliders, fries, and a pretzel. The sliders came out and they were warm around the edges, and actually cold in the middle. The sautéed onions were cold. The pretzel did not come out with the food and arrived 5 minutes later. The cheese sauce accompanying the pretzel was freshly removed from the refrigerator. Gelatinous and cold. I asked the server if the cheese wasn't supposed to be warm. She said it is always served cold. There was a male server who did kindly help us with drink refills. The female server did come back and asked if I wanted to speak to the manager and I said yes. The manager apologized, and did take the pretzel and sliders off of the bill. Food and service left a bad taste.
Nov 8,2025 5:30 pm . The porch host discriminated a low spectrum autistic man for rushing in and sitting at a table according to her he was drunk and asked security to kick him out of establishment for sitting at the table without being escorted.THE AUTISTICS MAN , MOM WAS WITH HIM EXPLAINED THE MANS MENTAL DISABILITY THAT STAFF ONLY GAVE ATITUD OF JUST LEAVE NO EMPATHY NO APOLOGY . Foto is of staff host that initiated discrimination against disabled man , I really hope the owners see this review and talk to their staff or Train them to identify a Drunk person to avoid this kind of discrimination.
It was sunny early afternoon (people still having lunch) and we wanted to enjoy a glass of wine in the sun. They served us an overpriced glass of white wine in a plastic cup…. I am OK to pay more than normal for a glass of wine but at least I will expect to get it in a proper glass and nut a plastic cup.
The fact that staff has to basically live of their tips, doesn't make them automatically better in hospitality. I stayed one and a half hour at The Porch at Bryant Park, but I had to make sure I got service myself, not because the servant was paying attention himself! Neither did he get the orders right. The place itself deserves better staff, because it is a great place to rest and enjoy New York's Bryant Park.
Beautiful evening location. We came around 8 pm. The locations was not busy at all. We were served our drinks promptly (soda and water) but.... our waiter never returned to take our order. We decided to leave and they insisted we pay our $5 drink tab. Poor customer service and they never apologized.
I have never met such horrible and rude staff members in NYC. I will never step foot in this place again. My niece and I took our kids to Manhattan for the 1st time and Bryant Park is our favorite-we took the kids here (3 of them, 2 sixteen year olds and a 13 year old) to The Porch, which we have enjoyed many time, knowing at least 1 of our kids might not enjoy their menu, we were happy to see there were other vendors (the porch is an outside drink/eat establishment). 1 of the kids grabbed a waffle while we waited to be waited on. Meanwhile, we had 3 people come to us and tell us, 1 after another, outside food was not allowed, another that we had to leave if we were not ordering, which we were waiting to. Just rude. Trust me, had the other 4 of us ordered except the 1 child, and had they told us that by switching sides, we had to order at the counter, all could have been fine BUT we all 5 got up and left after finishing my $16 cup of wine that was about 4oz. Rude rude rude people. Folks travel to NYC with their children and 1 out of 5 didn’t like the menu, they should be supportive of the vendors in the park after the few tough years we’ve all had. I honestly have never met more rude staff in NYC.
The drinks were okay; however, we waited 1 HOUR for service and after letting 3 workers at the bar know that we have not been served, we STILL DID NOT GET SERVED. We are from out of the state and this is THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD. We ended up going to the bar for drinks and never got food... awful service and would not recommend. Also, I would recommend going straight to the bar... Mitch was awesome and served us right away :)
Awful service. There are many restrictions to have one drink. My friend and I were not allowed to sit at a table because we ordered the drink from the bar. Neither we were allowed to sit on the other side of the bar! So we had to stay standing on one spot and drink. Anywhere we moved, there were staff directing us to stay in place. I never had such an awful experience in a place where I was supposed to relax and have fun!
Service is terrible! Stay away from this place. The security guard/bouncer/host or whoever this person is, is VERY rude! We went out with the beer on our hands without knowing that it was not allowed to step out with a beer. Instead of nicely explaining and asking us to go back in, this person aggressively kicked us out of the bar and then insisted that we were not even sitting inside, began asking which was our table and lastly tried to start a fight with my boyfriend by pushing his body forward like it was a boxing game!
Drinks are great but managers are the rudest I’ve ever met. They don’t care about your experience and they will talk to you in a rude tone and won’t care if they can help you enjoy your time here.
Staff is incredibly rude. Closed thirty minutes before what their website lists as their hours, turned the lights off and kicked everyone out while most sat there with full drinks they just ordered. Made us move from the bar to a table with no mention that they were closing in ten minutes. Had no problem taking the order and charging us, but made everyone get up and leave after paying. They clearly wanted to leave early. Worst service I’ve seen in a long time.
Located in Bryant Park, our favorite park in Manhattan, this place is an embarrassment in many ways. They serve the glass of wine ($16-20), in a container like a plastic sauce cup. Not content with that, they don't even bother to train their employees, who are unaware of the wines. I will never sit in again in this place.
Cocktails tasted so bad, like premade mixers made at a frat house for $20 each.
This place is an absolute scam. They don’t allow you to sit down after purchasing drinks. Unfortunately they don’t allow to you to stand near the music with your purchased drinks. It’s a lose lose situation and all of the workers seem miserable and unwilling to accommodate you. Avoid the chaos and go else where.
As someone who worked in the restaurant business for quite some time, I understand policies are implemented for a reason. This past week our party of 7 were stopping in for some appetizers and cocktails. Friends were already seated and my wife and I entered shortly afterwards. As there is heavy traffic nearby and the surroundings are reminiscent of a bizarre, you would imagine that places are pretty flexible. Well, I entered the place with a small flight of pickles I had purchased around the corner. There were 3 left - which I wanted our friends to try. We were rudely told that we could not enter. I explained we were going to order drinks and food and that they would be done in a minute. We were then again rudely told we could not bring the items in. I explained I’ll take my business elsewhere then, which was received with a snooty “have a good day.” Our friends were in the middle of ordering then picked up their belongings and left. The Porch lost out on an easy 150-200 dollar mid-afternoon tab from us.
The atmosphere was okeyish, but that is the only ok thing what I can tell about this place. The cocktails were meh, for 21-22$ served in the cheapest plastic cups, the service was very slow, both during order and during payment. For this reason we decided not to leave any tip. Imagine my surprise when 2 days after our visit my payment was updated with 20% tip. As I did not keep the receipt, who would from few drinks, I was not able to claim it with my bank. I hope you are happy with that tip which was not earned. I couldn’t recommend this place to anybody.
Im not happy at all. I came with a group of 10. 6 kids and 4 adults. We bought chicken for some of the kids and they won't let them in to eat. My child couldn't eat her food because no outside food was allowed. I would understand this at an indoor dining restaurant. This is out door at the middle of a park. And manager was having an attitude when u asked.. This happened on a sat at 2 pm. I almost left with Paying and not taking the meal but the waiter that served us was very nice.
