Opinions de DQ Grill & Chill Brownwood
Made a special order with extra picky burgers... Not only did the cashier double check to make everything was right, but the server double checked to make sure everything was right. The food was hot and fresh, and everything was correct.
I love a good taco. We moved to Brownwood from West Texas where great Mexican food is available on each block almost, so we had high expectations. We've tried them all here and DQ won...beats them all, HANDS DOWN, in Brownwood Tx. Perfectly seasoned meat, not dripping with grease, a big helping of grated cheese, fresh lettuce/tomato....is your mouth watering yet? Get up and go to DQ...try a taco dinner (you get 3 tacos). You can thank me later!
staff is friendly, but service can be slow some days. most of the time it is fast, and tastes great
Kim did a great job taking everyone's orders and staying level headed with even the most complicated orders , Lane did a great job making ice cream and blizzards with ease along with everyone such as John , Chuck, Syndi , Shooter, Stephanie and Jesus all working hard even past their shift , highly praise all these people for being hard workers
Dairy Queen do better about their fries every time I go there I always have to ask for fresh fries because half the time I get old fries mixed in with a few fresh fries other than that the food is great
Good selection and customer friendly. They let the kids make their own dipped cones. More selections than the DQ 30 min south on 183
We all had a great time. Thanks to the crew. There was 11 of us. Daughter son in law and 7 grandkids and hubby and myself. Food was great. Ice cream afterward was great. We all got to sit together Thanks to Amanda. All in all. Terrific.
Nice lady at the drive through.
Refreshing, breakfast was fresh, hot and lots of bacon, portion was good size. Price was good and biscuit was soft and very taste. Service fast and friendly.
Love the happy hour from 3-5pm Monday through Friday!!!
Just want to leave a few kind words for the manager Brielle. Thank You for being great with customers and knowing how to treat them. Wish there were more manager's like you.
The guy working the drive thru right now needs a raise! He really happy to be there. Food was super good..
The lady in the drive-through was so sweet and believe it or not. Their prices are better than most Dairy Queen’s in Texas at least they’re ice cream.
I have never gotten a bad order of tacos at DQ. Always big, full of meat, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese... just delicious, fresh, crispy... best tacos in town.
I was in the mood for a small ice cream cone. The young man thought I said large? So I was gifted with a large one at a small price. 😉
My friend and I decided we wanted ice cream. I like this DQ because they have chocolate ice cream. The cashier was friendly and the gentleman that made our banana splits made it an enjoyable interaction. He also didn't make any mistakes. Neither one of us have had a banana split in forever so this was a real treat.
It is hard to beat a Dairy Queen Blizzard. I enjoy their burgers and fries. They do not have enough employees to get your food in a timely manner.
The ladies who work the morning shift truly bring a sense of inspiration to my day. They have the remarkable ability to make the rest of my day truly delightful. However, it is regrettable to say that the lunch shift and evening shift are not quite up to par. They have not demonstrated the same level of dedication and professionalism as the morning shift. I am incredibly grateful that they do not occupy the morning shift, as I have been faithfully attending every morning for the past few years.
Burger was hot fresh and delicious. The lady at the window was friendly and smiling. Definitely would visit again.
I'm very picky where I spend my hard-earned cash dairy Queen is worth it they're inviting and attentive to customers. My ice cream cake was perfect. Thank you kaili for making my cake beautiful!
I normally go right after I get off of work, which is normally about 8:30am. The food is always so good. <3 There's only been one time my food was "messed up", and that was an easy fix (they just had to make my regular fries into chili cheese fries!), and everything is always very fresh. I've even gotten a blizzard a few times, and they have been good as well. I would recommend this location.
Costumer service can make or break a restaurant. They did a great job especially Dom.
I dropped in at their DQ in Brownwood. I was very impressed with the staff and service, especially with Alisa, front counter also, Kaili, Juan, their cooks Jess and Chris. Everything was just awesome! The staff was very friendly, service and food was prompt and hot. I cannot say enough! Kudos to Krista the manager and staff!!! You should be proud. Sincerely, A satisfied customer JGC
This was one of the best dairy queens I have been too.
Front end workers not very attentive to orders coming out behind them therefore increasing wait time. Excessive chatter by workers behind counter. Food good otherwise.
We went on taco Tuesday which is .89 cents a taco which is a good deal in my opinion. This place was pack when we went and the service was still great and fast.
The food and the service were great. I didn't give 5 stars because the online menu needs a lot of improvement.
We came to Bwood & wanted some catfish on a Friday night. We were kinda hesitant to try DQ for catfish, but we are glad we did. Our catfish dinner was very light & yummy.
Mmmmmm, chicken and dumplings...Nuff said! Other food was on par with what I expect from DQ as well. This location was remodeled not long ago, and looks really nice as a result. The staff is nice, and food was served in a timely manner. Only reason I didn't give 5 starts, is the layout of the drive thru is bad. They have very limited space for two reasons: 1) Restaurant sits on corner lot and 2) Lot used to have more space, but size was reduced when Austin Ave was expended to 5 lanes I understand the size of their lot is not a fault of the DQ franchisee's. However, they should have run the drive thru around the building, pretty much opposite the current flow of traffic they have setup now. With drive thru line travelling in the current direction, fewer people can wait in line, and you have to manuever a lot to reach the call box to place your order almost immediately after pulling into parking lot.
The shakes and blizzard were awesome. The employees were friendly. However, It took 30 minutes to get through the drive thru though. ☹️ I would have given 5 stars if they had gotten us through quicker.
Service is good. Food average at best. Ice cream products are expensive but very tasty. $1 Specials before 5 pm.
First off I love these people! John and the girls are my peeps! But I ordered a hamburger the other night and ordered mustard and tomatoes only...got home and guess what? Mayo and all the veggies. I picked everything off and ate it anyway, because I love food, but I really would've liked it my way.
Friendly staff. Definitely hardworking and grade 1 speed. 4 stars because we were given the wrong blizzards. And the staff member who was working the counter spoke just looud enough for my wife to hear she doesn't like kids... I think due to indecisiveness
I drove up in your drive up lane last night, I sat there for a full hour...the girl tried to give me 2 different orders that were not mine, I says, what is the problem tonight ? She says we are behind....well, that was pretty obvious...but a full hour ? I was thinking she could have offered me a coke or even a glass of water I sat at the window for about 15 - 20 minutes...she did give my dogs some whipped cream. .I says. I deserve some ice cream and she laughed...
Burgers, ice cream, tasty. Service was poor. They had 8 employees that I could count. There was just no teamwork. Drive through and phone in orders very busy. Restaurant needed a good wipe down. The booths had lots of space for us larger patrons.
Light upbeat atmosphere. Everyone seemed happy which I credit to a lady named Michele ( i think the manager . She said she wasnt but she had all the answers ....with a smile ). Food was hot and as ordered in record time at the drive through. Kid friendly menu. Outdoor seating. Handicap parking upfront. Prices very affordable. Got a Dude with cheese ,FF,med drink ( about a dang quart size cup ! Apparently everything is bigger in Dairy Queen Texas as Michelle said lol.) for under $10.
It's a dairy queen, you get what you expect for the most part. The cheese stuffed dude was gross though. They seem to have high turnover, and train staff poorly, they've often gotten my order completely wrong
Their restroom is extremely outdated. Sink has knobs instead of levers and there are no paper towels anywhere at all. Food's good tho.
Hot fudge sundae was very good but no one smiles and they are not friendly,no one greeted us or even said hi except the young man that took our order
This place is great depending on the day you go. I've had both really bad and really good experiences here, my main issue is how expensive it's gotten lately. I should not be paying $$40 for 4 things that's not meals lol
Can't say I have ever had the best experience here. The food is always good. But the time it takes to get it, aswell as the consistent bad attitude of that servers tends to keep me away. I am however willing to give three stars because the service isn't always as bad as the time before. I can understand some days we all have bad days.
Went there for supper and it took 30 minutes to get our food. My husband had to go and ask about it. Normally they are quick, idk why tonight took so long.
Service and atmosphere was great. Fries were old and cold. Chicken strips were more like chicken nuggets. Chicken was old and tough. The only good part of the 6 pc chicken strip basket was the piece of bread and the gravy. So sad you pay $15 for a meal and its not hot or fresh!
Food is good but usually stays too busy for service to be any good... inside has way too many flies at all times of the day, may just be a summer thing.. other than that can't beat the blizzard. The continued reason I look past everything else..
Crew are jerks! Food wasn't too bad! Wish they had curly fries like the one in brady. Also I asked if they offered cheese fries she said yes then just gave me a small cup of cheese. Lol
Staff pleasant. Tacos were sitting in grease. Dude bun old and crumbly. Need to drain grease out of meat and check buns for freshness
Waited over 15 minutes to get a blizzard. Restaurant was NOT busy and observed several employees just standing around or on their phones. FINALLY I went to counter and the girl behind counter started my order. She did apologize. Recently I’ve noticed the service and items on menu have gone down. Cleanliness needs to be addressed.
Staff is rude....order is usually right about 90% of the time. Staff has no patience.....not impressed oh and food is not presented well...like it slopped together...gross.. But only usually drive thru orders inside it is presented well..
Usually look forward to DQ Grill. But 4 of us had a DQ Dude. They were awful? Soggy and no crispiness to the meat.
The food was warm & average. Veggies were fresh. The 'chocolate brownie' blizzard was over half vanilla ice cream beginning at least half way into the cup. Disappointed
Ordered 2 grilled chicjen salads, was not happy. Got one without any chicken and they were both half the size of what I usually get at this same location. They were given to us in the containers that are used for tacos. Will not order them again.
This DQ is normally hit or miss… today was TOTAL MISS! Our order sat under the lamps getting cold and soggy ! Unfortunately, ours wasn’t the only one… we had a birds eye view… we saw several more sitting under the lamps before getting served in a timely matter. And, NO, they weren’t swamped with people…
First, the credit card machine was out, so I had to go get cash, then, as usual, the drive-thru took quite a while to get through even longer to get my food one I paid. At least the food was good.
Extremely poor service. Sarah didn't seem to know what she was doing. Chewing a big wad of something. Took over 10 minutes to make one shake and one blizzard. The manager was getting upset with her and another person. She was not at all polite to my son and I. Very disappointing visit. Won't be going back anytime soon.
Ahhhh it used to be a good experience. I went in tonight and was asking the lady at the front about modifying my order and whatever manager was there started getting snappy bc I was picky (tummy problems) never had the issue of getting shorted on my meal, but tonight they really gave it to me. I got about half a carton of fries that was already dumped out into the bag. Not really happy with this place lately
It's like nobody is in charge to keep things flowing or organized. Last few times I've been there takes forever to get food. This time I called it in. Got there 20 or so minutes after calling and still had to wait another 20 minutes. Then had to actually ask to see if order was ready. Then got it home and very cold..... for that I could have saved money and just cooked. This place has gone down hill.
Our fries was burnt. Our chicken strips was burnt. The gravy was half way filled and thick and old. My hamburger patties was burnt on my burger. Was very displeased with the quality of food. Service was good. Man at register was nice and got me some more gravy and fries. This Dairy Queen used to be better. I don’t understand
Foods decent. But average drive-through waiting time is always 20-30 mins minimal.. Ticket times must be horrendous...
I asked how their sweet tea was and the employee at the speaker said it was pretty sweet and I end up getting unsweet tea :( they didn’t give any napkins or utensils for my salad
it would be faster for you to just go to the store, get the ingredients, and then make ice cream yourself. unless you need to kill half an hour, just go to sonic.
I came within an hour of closing. Got reminded why I stopped going to DQ years ago, but seeing as how I'm not from this area, my choices were limited. I kept the order pretty simple, a whole 2 cones. Wasn't pleased at all and I got the sarcastic comment from an employee of "her name is Casey" when saying I'd be contacting management. Oh sweetie, BLESS YOUR HEART if you think I meant LOCAL management. Lmfaoooo, that won't do anything. I'm going much higher sweetheart!
I found it disgusting that the manager and employees are harassing another employee that has a disability long story short this employee decided to quit bc they got a better paying job and now the manager and employees are messaging her and harassing her for quiting it very disgusting especially with an employee that has a disability. Not only that I have experience so much disrespect getting my food there by the employees they told me my order was right at one point when I explained it's not they just walk away has a kind person I am I just let it go but this I'm not I would like to get in contact with the owner but who know maybe this will help
Had 4 Cars in front of us. Took 22 min for one car to move. Waited 45 min. Not worth it. 😕
Worker rage baited me at the drive through
They forgot about my order! after asking me to pull forward having me wait for 25 minutes, I went inside and "asked where's my food?" I was met with " are you sure you ordered?" I can't believe this place was so inattentive!
Ruuuuuude. And specials suck. Updating to add: fix your hours on here (Google). It says you close at 10pm and when we make a special trip for DQ, you’re closed at 9. PS, I wonder why you have reviews turn off on your Facebook page? Willing to bet, it’s because you guys have the worst customer service and offer no specials or promotions. And aren’t willing to receive constructive criticism because you are lazy and selfish and don’t care to improve.
5:50pm on 3/11/23 came in for med carmel moolatte cashier acted like I was interrupting her ,not nice at all, lady that call my number,I went to pick up asked her if it was carmel moolatte she looked at it an threw it in trash in front of me it was a mocha, made mine horrible chunks of ice an very little carmel I will never come back
Service has gone way down hill. I probably won't be coming here anymore.
When our 3 Blizzards were handed to us she only turned 2 upside down because the 3 would've fell out of the cup because it was sooo melted. Not to mention the shake we purchased was all over the cup and we wasn't even offered napkins. This is the first time we've ever been to Dairy Queen and been displeased.
Spent about 20 minutes in line after ordering, which would have been fine except for the fact that my blizzard was super melted when I finally was able to pull around to the window to pay. What is the point of making the ice cream orders right when the order is placed if its going to be left out on the counter for a prolonged time afterwards? Cashier lady didn't even do the flip test because she knew as well as I did that it wouldn't have worked out well. Just got home and put my blizzard in the freezer so I can have ice cream in a little bit, instead of a soupy mess now.
Went by after waiting in line for a good 10 minutes or more (like always) in the drive thru line only to not be able to order. It’s 9:09 pm and the order sign is turned off. We asked to have it turned on so we can see the menu and the attendant said she did not have a way to do that. Really how does one order at night! Drove away to another place to would want our business.
Had a 25 minute wait for somebody to change ice cream supply and another 20 plus minutes for mixture to get cold enough, then it was still very soft. People lined up waiting and drive through backed up with some people waiting 45 minutes or more inline. Not a good experience
This has got to be the absolute WORST experience with a Dairy Queen I have ever had the misfortune of experiencing. The lobby is dirty, the soda machine is completely trashed, the food is barely warm enough, they have menu selections they have no product for, the staff is curt to the point of rude and the lobby is swarming with flies. My wife, my mother-in-law and I will NEVER come back to this trash establishment ever again.
This one really needs a complete overhaul if it wants my business back. I didn't want to complain, but they've let it go in appearance, service, and quality of food. There's not much care from the employees working here in regards to upkeep or what you receive. Truly, it's nasty. Sometimes they've even been rude. You're lucky to get a correct order and there's a pest problem that is apparent with the flies they do nothing to curb. I've also been informed there are rats now. It's sad when you drive to another town to get something from a Dairy Queen or simply forego it completely, but the repeatedly poor experience here has led to that. I had an issue with a food allergy and a reaction because they did not clean their ice cream equipment properly per company protocol or even sanitary sense apparently and this was brushed off and not taken seriously despite the fact I went to the hospital in anaphylaxis as a direct result of it. Pick another one in another town over in any direction if you'd like to eat at one of these restaurants, because the chain may be fine, just not this one location. I stop at those others without issue and those others still do have my business. I used to frequent this location and have to say the decline is disappointing. Someone needs to call IDQ on them and get them involved to investigate, because I don't think they'd be very happy with the state of this place right now if they did a surprise visit. It might just get closed.
I went in today and was upset to see how the I am assuming was the manager Tracy or Stacy, there was a young man named Tim working the register, whom I came to find out was only his 2nd day of employment. He was clearly doing the best he could do with what training he might of had, he kept apologizing for the trouble he was having taking orders. I was there for about 45min and he had a backed up line the whole time. Everytime he would ask the manager a question she would respond to him quite rudely in front of everyone. I heard others in line tell him how he was doing a great job and how the manager shouldn't be replying to him that way. This may be the reason DQ is unable to keep a full staff. It may be a management training issue. It will really surprise me to see if Tim still working for her the next time I visit if I do!
We came in on 8/30/24 , our cashier Krista seemed bothered by us being there, there was 3 people working , No smiles, the store was dirty, the floors needed swept, one of the customers even mentioned your not getting any smiles here today , My #2 was the worst Hamburger I’ve ever had from a DQ, I’m thinking we will be going to DQ in Cross Plains in the future, it’s a very good store food is always good and the help is always great
Quick to take the order, Fast to exchange Cash 💸 for product BUTT ! The Ecution of service for 1 Medium vanilla double dipcone And 1 small Sunday. Would take 28 minutes to receive. If further and extended Indef explanation is required please ask
We waited in line at drive thru for approx 21 minutes before any one said hello or took our order. The line was around the building. Customer service is clearly not a priority.
Super slow at drive thru. The person running drive thru left. Several people left - they got tired of waiting. Waited 25 minutes to get blizzards and they were almost melted when we got them. And no they didn't turn them upside down---if they did they would have fallen out
Absolute joke. Ordered 4 drinks and 2 blizzards. 2 of my drinks were supposed to be BLENDED Dr. Pepper floats. She hands them to me and I explain that they were supposed to be blended. She told me to blend them at home. I'm sorry, what? Why am I giving you money if you don't want to do the job you are paid to do? I will not be going back. I just moved back here and was so excited to have this drink in my life again only to be disappointed. Guess this will just remain a memory, along with friendly staffing and people who used to actually care about your order. Such a let down.
We came to town to visit family and on our way out of town, decided to get some ice cream. That choice seemed to personally offend the young lady with braids in her hair that day as we were met with rude attitude, slamming of the drive thru window, multiple times hearing "here!" when handing us our items and a few "whatever" responses when my husband told her she got put order wrong.
Sorely disappointed. I had a specific cake made for my special event (gender reveal) and when I called the morning of they said it was ready to go. My boyfriend went to get it and they couldn’t find it at all. This was supposed to be a beautiful event with a beautiful cake and they said they just couldn’t find it. I’m extremely saddened that they dropped the ball of such a special day.
Went to get ice cream! They didn’t even have anyone that knew how to make ice cream! So if you want ice cream don’t go at night!! They had to remake it and still didn’t give me the right thing but I was waiting in the drive thru for about 20 minutes and I wasn’t waiting any longer!! 😡
It doesn't matter if you go to the drive thru or go inside for a to go order you are going to wait at least 20 minutes, even if it's not busy. My husband stood there and looked at our order for over 10 minutes sitting under the heat light. One thing was a taco salad. The drive thru person just stood there even when she had no cars. the other person with an obviously hurt foot was trying to run around and do everything. We used to eat here once a week so we stopped and today we tried again and nothing has changed. Unless you are going there for ice cream which may or not be melted when you get it don't go for food. The wait time is ridiculous. Edit : My husband got a response form the complaint he filed. They gave us a gift card. We decided to wait to use it until yesterday, 2 months later. We got the same meal we did the first time. Well the Taco salad wasn't wilted this time. This time it was made with raw shredded cabbage that I dare them to try to chew. Seriously? Your answer to the problem was to make it completely inedible unless you are a rabbit? The hunger buster was not made to order. It was old and hard except from where the the wilted mushy lettuce was. The fries were so old you could have chipped a tooth. Seriously? Do not go here for anything. Take your money else where.
We just waited over 20 minutes for 4 ice creams. We have 2 small kids who were excited to get ice cream after our dinner. We watched the workers fix others and give it to them without saying a word to us. We got our money back and left without the ice cream. Worst Dairy Queen experience I’ve had.
My son gets us out food to go and this time he ordered me a taco salad and they just put the taco salad 🥣 in and nothing I mean nothing I'm it and when he called they said well the cooks like to joke around , I am 75 years old and it's not a funny joke to me , when he went back and got another one it was horrible .I'm not a jokey kind of old lady .Next time I'll go in there myself and they WILL fix it right . Cherry Dixon
Went to grab a quick blizzard. Waited 30 minutes to get vanilla Ice cream. Never had such a bad experience or blizzard this bad. If they were really busy maybe but everyone was just walking around talking with each other.
This has to be one of the busiest Dairy Queen’s I’ve ever seen, they have great specials but cannot handle the business. Employees are usually rude and wait times are long. More than once my order has gone missing. I know it doesn’t help that employees are ‘bumping’ orders from the screen then ‘recalling’ them to make their times seem better when it is busy. Very disappointing experience every time at this location.
Ordered on line, when I went in to get the food the cashier acted like he didn't understand how online orders worked. He asked the girl who was working drive thru about it and she just waved her hand in the air and ststed she doesn't deal with that. When my order was finally done it was wrong. The fries had clearly been sitting there for several hours and everything else was just thrown together. The 2 girls behind the counter where too busy talking to each other to get orders ready. This is the worst place to try to get food at. Someone really needs to do something.
This is the second time I’ve come through the drive through in a month. First time was just ok. Today, the girl taking drive thru orders was unfriendly and short. My blizzard barely had anything in it and I left the drive through feeling like a bother. Please hire people that have basic manners and if they don’t want to interact with you, at least train them to make a good blizzard and sundae. No receipt was given again.
The young blonde lady at the drive thru, Christina is very impolite and unprofessional. She had attitude both at the speaker and window, took forever to take the order and swapped back on order takers at least twice. We almost drove away waiting on the car in front of us because of the amount of attitude. If I could give less than a 1 star I would
Very rude and disrespectful service. They forgot a couple of items in my order. Instead of driving all the way I called and gave them my name and items. When we returned the next day with the receipt they treated us as if we were trying to get free items. Acted very unprofessional. While standing there waiting for our items the very young girl could see we were standing there and proceeded to yell very loudly that our item was ready with a sarcastic attitude. Will not be returning. Customer service is definitely not the way it should be anymore.
I was super disappointed with this visit. 3 icecream items took 20 minutes to get out. The orders were incorrect. Spilling outside of our cups, you can see in pix. No napkins. Got an attitude for asking for some. They also couldn't work the ordering board outside either. Rudest customer service.
I don’t understand how people can be so rude to customers without remorse. If you don’t like your job don’t work there and don’t take it out on us. Forgetting the same jalitos every time I go I never get them. Charge me for them but can’t get them in the bag. The Santa Anna Dairy Queen has yet to forget something iv orders. If they don’t get a new crew soon I’m afraid Dairy Queen might not see Brownwood for much longer.
The burgers where burnt around the side the sign says 12 an hour to work here and you would think they put out quality but no it was horrible I had to force my burger down my sons which is 1 and 3 months food looked way better then ours and the tacos were nasty. My wife had to order a whole other meal cause it was not to our liking.
