We were staying at a nearby hotel and thought, why not try out the steak house one block away. We were told it was a bit pricey ahead of time. We did not make any reservations. We got there asked for a table of two and were told 15 minutes of waiting time. After 10 minutes, in which we ordered a dry red wine, perfect for a fooling steak dinner, we were seated. John was a not a waiter or server, but someone redefining service and hospitality to the next level. I had the banana peppers appetizer and the 14oz signature cut steak followed by their three sort ice cream selection. Every last bite was a pleasure and experience. John was more attentive than some off my family members growing up, but all without interrupting or intruding. Everything from being seated to getting the check was one good flow of how dinner should be. Notes to customers: you can eat here for under 50$ but if you want to enjoy yourself, don't look at the money. I ate the second most expensive meal and it was worth every penny. Note to restaurant: Whatever John earns, double it! That mean needs to work in a Michelin star restaurant. That level of service and professionalism is extraordinary!

10/10 fine dining experience! The food and service at Russell’s is simply a step above the rest. The wait staff is so attentive and polite, they truly make the experience. The food is excellent, some of the best steaks I’ve ever had! The Filet Oscar and Prime NY Strip entrees are our favorite. Also the crème brûlée dessert is not to be missed! We go to Russell’s at least once a year with our large family of 10 for an anniversary dinner and we always look forward to each visit even more than the last!

It was our first time going to Russell’s and we were blown away. The owner was there when we went and greeted everyone. Amazing food amazing service and great hospitality. It’s our official anniversary spot for sure.

Russell's is my favorite place to go for a great night! The food has never been a disappointment. The filet mignon is the best I've ever had and the staff is wonderful. Everyone is so kind and attentive and they check on you often. We always choose Russel's for a one night getaway. It's fun to order the cheese platters or chocolate strawberries to your room too! Free breakfast in the morning is a nice touch too!

We have not been to Russell's in what seemed like 10 years. We were greeted by Russell himself on our visit. We were there celebrating a birthday party. They were able to accommodate all nine of us on one large table. It wasn't too loud and we were able to carry on a conversation without issue. All of the servers, bussers, host / hostesses were all genuinely great. Very efficient. the food was delicious, the wine selection was nice and the deserts were amazing. I'm glad we got back and will return quicker this time. They do have some specials which are reasonable for what you get (i.e.: 6 oz filet). If you are looking for a classy, delicious meal with great service, Russell's does not disappoint. You are paying for what you get, but it was worth it for us.

Despite going on a very busy Friday night, the service was efficient and friendly. Highly recommend making reservations in advance. The building is quite striking and pleasant, which encourages people to feel comfortable and stay longer. There is a dress code, so keep that in mind. The food is the best aspect of the experience. Not surprisingly, the steaks are the highlight of the menu. I did have a seafood bisque, salad, and a pork belly appetizer, but the filet mignon was the tastiest food for me that night. Keep in mind that the rub applied to most steak cuts is on the spicier side (disclaimer on the menu), but for me, it was just right combined with the sweeter demi glace. My only 2 notes are the sizes of all portions: they are huge! I was nearly full by the time I got to the steak, so don't fill up on apps or soup/salad. And lastly, it is a bit pricier than expected, especially for the food quality and the overall experience. As a suggestion, it would be great to reduce the size of the appetizers/soups/salads/desserts (as well as their price) so that the main courses can take center stage, as the steaks are delicious. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and will be back.

1st time experience at Russell's. It was amazing. The atmosphere is just CLASSY. Walking in you just see how much they care about quality. We checked in and went to the room to get ready. Standard hotel experience. My only issue with the room was the ironing board. I couldn't properly iron my clothes because the cloth wouldn't stay on. Was quite annoying. Went down to dinner and WOW is the best way to describe it. Russell is standing there, working on a Saturday, greeting and walking around making sure everything is moving smoothly. We sat at a cute side cut out in the wall. It was the right spot for our anniversary dinner. The food was spectacular. Stuffed peppers, soup, salad, and ribeye to finish off the main meal. Steak felt like it could have been seasoned more, it was like they just didn't hit it with salt. But honestly the quality of the steak was so good, I can easily just add salt myself and it would be fine. We ordered dessert to stay and eat and some to take back to the room. And wow. The coffee ice cream dessert (don't recall the name) was mind blowing. I had to ask the bus boy what coffee brand it was, and I then proceeded to see if I could order online. The cheesecake was great. Peanut butter pie later that night was just as good. Service was amazing, he knew just what we needed and made great suggestions. I recommend the dinner for 2 promotion if budget is an issue, but even if it's not, you can still get it and use the voucher toward the whole meal. It was a great night for our anniversary.

Went to Russell’s last year around March. Had a wonderful experience. This year, I wish I could say the same. The food was horribly overpriced for what it was . The seafood tower was an extreme disappointment. I paid an extra $40 for crab on top of the already hundred dollars that it cost. Just a substitute the clams for more crab. And I got better crab from tops frozen section. The lobster mac & cheese was tasteless. Which we paid extra for. The stuffed banana peppers were cold on the inside. The Italian wedding soup had beans in it, which OK “” was different., But it just said not taste great at all. The steaks were cooked perfectly. But overall was not worth $350 for the meal. First off, they need to turn up the lights and music. We literally had to use our phone flashlights just to read the menu—which, by the way, is more like a heavy book than a menu. As for the food, stick with the classics: the Wagyu or the bone-in ribeye never disappoint. I made the mistake of ordering the strip steak, and honestly, it was just dry—nothing more, nothing less.

My dining experience at Russell’s was by far… the absolute worst experience I have encountered at a “fine dining restaurant”. I have dined at every fine dining establishment in the Buffalo area and have never been treated with such disregard and blatant disrespect and dismissive attitude by an owner and his management team. I made reservations for 8 for my mother’s birthday in which several family members travelled from out of town. the restaurant called to confirm the number, I advised the woman it would be 8 for sure, but possibly 10. She told me just to call back once the number was confirmed but an 8 person table usually seats 10 anyway. I called as soon as The restaurant opened to confirm the 10. However A “manager” came to the phone and told me there wasn’t room for 10. I repeated what I was told by the previous woman and then asked if they could fit the rest of the party at a nearby table to which they agreed. Now… the biggest issue is when my nephew arrived late to surprise his grandmother and was told he could not join us. There was room at both tables for an extra seat, but they refused to allow him to sit down. We were told that Russell himself said “he was not going to add another chair”. The chair was not in the way, it was more than enough room at both tables but Russell adamantly refused to let my nephew join his grandmothers birthday dinner. Russell even stood there glaring at our table as my nephew attempted to greet the family before being forced to leave. It was inconsiderate, unprofessional, and utterly disgusting for a business to engage in practices like that and I will never step foot near this business again.

Bread, Lobster Mac, potatoes, Calamari’s was excellent. Seafood bisque tasted like paprika straight from the bottle. Bone in ribeye was tough, no flavor, fat was chewy. I believe it was the 9oz sirloin my wife had. I think she took three bites. None of us enjoyed our meal. Regret we didn’t send it back. Waste of about 1500$. Was very disappointing and won’t be returning.

Osso buco was far too rich, incredibly fatty. The old man owner is pompous and the regulars are too. Between the self entitlement of the patrons, the lackluster food, and the owner lurking around - it made for an odd experience when all I was searching for was a relaxing dinner to unwind after a long road trip on my bike. If you're not a regular, or at a minimum, are staying at that particular hotel - forget it. Take your hard earned cash and go elsewhere.

You need to wait for a long time to be seated and start order the food. Servers are friendly to their old friends, but not you and me. 2. So we let our friends to bring the card here, after more than 10 minutes, they actually can … This seems to be a restaurant with long history, but if nothing changed and evolved, not sure how far can it goes.
