Opinions de Tandoori Hut Buffalo
I had the Garlic Naan, and chicken curry with the rice and Mango Lassi ( the drink) So, before this I've never had Indian food ever in my life and was impressed and in love 😍 First off, the chicken curry with rice. That rice I've never seen before. Longer than other rice I've had. It's good and also absorbs the chicken curry very well. Mwah! The chicken curry was spicy. Spicy enough to feel like sneezing but I didn't. The flavor, excellent as expected 💋 and I love the chicken chunks. The Garlic Naan didn't really have a taste, so I added some salt and it reminded me of saltiness crackers lol I also dipped it in my curry 👌 do that The Mango Lassi to me tasted like Mango and pineapple, fruit baby food, and yogurt. I liked it would get again if I ever go back Service was good, and apparently they have a buffet which I had no idea about. People don't seem to come in often to dine quite a bit of people order Anywsy I recommend this place
Truly some of the best North Indian style food. Don't let the outside or anything fool you. My family and I stopped in here for dinner on our way home to NYC. Very to-the-point place, great service, great food. What makes this food better than some of the other Indian food we've had is because this food is not oily or greasy at all. So many Indian restaurants go crazy with the oil and you can see it floating on top of the curries. But not this one, we felt great after and energized. We got the dal, roti, naan, chicken vindaloo, and lamb curry--amazing. Will come back!
Let me start by saying that this is exactly the kind of Indian cuisine I dreamed of when I lived nearby as a student. I tried both the lunch and dinner buffets and let me say that they are the bomb! The kheer is to die for, and the masala chai at the end of the meal is just the kind of soothing gift you hope for. Just perfect! P.S. The toilet is properly stocked and clean which is a must for someone like me.
Family restaurant with excellent homemade Samosa, curries, and mango lassi. No frills, but the prices are good and your curry meal will include rice.
OMG the food is amazing here. Nuce and fresh, and to top it off the staff are very welcoming and hospitable. My hubby and I are use to eating at a indian resturant in SC that was our fav. We were searching for a place here to replace it in Buffalo. I decided to take a friend out to ease her mind if the stress she was dealing with. I wanted her to try something new. We had lunch here and OMG WE WERE BOTH SURPRISED BY HOW TASTY AND FRESH THE FOOD WAS. ITS $9.99 For lunch and $12 for dinner its a buffet style and I promise if u love indian Cuisine u will love it.
This restaurant is a preferred destination of mine every day I can make it after work. Their lunch and dinner buffets are phenomenal with a great selection of typical Indian dishes all of which are delicious. Their staff is very attentive and friendly. The restaurant is also very well kept and clean which definitely leaves a great lasting impression. I'd recommend anyone visiting or locally to stop by and enjoy what Tandoori Hut has to offer. I'm confident you won't regret it.
Wow! They have so many more varieties of naan and bread than other Indian restaurants I’ve been too. I had regular and cheese + herb filled, and it came hot and directly from the oven, and was great. They asked us our desired spice level and the rice, chicken makhni and vegetable dish were delicious. I will be coming here again. Also, the lassis were a hit.
This is the only place near New York Niagra Falls that has the best vegetarian food. I tried almost everything, and everything was delicious. Highly recommended.
They are really good. Food taste mad good and absolutely worth the money. The workers are so nice and welcoming. Mild spicy lamb biriyani, garlic nun and butter chicken is highly recommended.
Best Friday night takeout decision! We love Indian food and really enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. I would definitely recommend it and we'll be going back again.
The best Indian restaurant in Buffalo. The food is always done so well. Especially when made spicy. Nothing is ever short from perfection. Quality is definitely high here!
Fantastico! I had a lamb dish, a chicken appetizer and some garlic naan. I haven’t had amazing Indian food like this in over a decade! If you’re nearby, or even somewhere in the region, it’s worth the detour. 10/10 recommended.
Enjoyed being well taken care of. The service was excellent. The dishes were perfect and the bread... Oh we love the garlic naan bread! The dining area is a bit small, but they can move tables and accommodate up to a party of 12. Will be coming back soon!
The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered Chicken Makhani, Samosas, Biryani, Naan and later on some tea. Everything was amazing. I read the latest bad review and let me tell you, the service was good. We did not receive any bad items. The person took our order within 5-7 minutes of arrival. Our food came hot and fresh. While I understand that everyone has different experiences, I hope you have the same experience we did. Everything was top notch and authentic. So definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.
Amazing, authentic, fresh, and delicious. Thursday nights there is an all you can eat buffet and the restaurant is packed until closing. I highly recommend Tandoori Hut to anyone who enjoys Indian food. The restaurant itself, while small, really makes up for it in personality. The music is upbeat and entertaining and adds to the whole experience. Can't wait to come back!
You know this place was going to taste good when there’s a kid in the corner doing their homework. As I continue to explore Buffalo’s food scene, I was surprisingly floored with the quality of food my wife and I ate at this establishment. My wife wanted the oh-so-popular butter chicken and I ordered the goat curry. We also added an order of garlic naan (as anyone should!). When the food arrived, we were impressed with how good the food was. The butter chicken was so creamy and savory that I’m salivating thinking about it while I’m typing this review. And the goat curry was just as delicious (even though it had cilantro in it haha). As you can see from the picture, the portions may be smaller than expected but if you value quality Indian food, Tandoori hut will not disappoint you. The place is also located on a great spot where college students can easily go to. The restaurant itself is pretty small and parking is limited. I recommend coming in on a slow day and maybe a small-ish company or go solo! We plan to visit again soon.
Delicious food and friendly staff. I went for the lunch buffet ($11.95 after tax) and it was worth every penny. There were at least three meat-based options, including Tandoori Chicken and plenty of vegetarian choices too! The dessert options, while not as robust did have a tasty fruit custard. The bring out the Naan per request vs. just having it on the buffet so it comes out hot and fresh everytime! Definitely worth your time and money.
Food is really good, I had parathe there and It was really tasty. They take care of hygiene though..
Best Indian Food I’ve found in Buffalo. I’m a student and they give me chai to help me study and the food is so delicious!
It’s a good place, but the taste is just okay, especially since there aren’t many Indian restaurants around. If you’re in the mood for Indian food nearby, it’s still a decent experience.
I've been meaning to try tandoori hut for a while. It's decent. But I think there are better Indian restaurants in the area. They were very nice . But have an optimistic number of booths which makes the experience claustrophobic. After getting the chicken jalfrezi which seems to be very light on the ginger, and heavy on the black pepper and salt. Naan was chewy, and lacking in garlic, especially for garlic naan. I suppose gone are the days of getting a meal like this for under $20. And perhaps their rents are high. But it definitely seems pricey.
Food was good here. Had ordered paneer tikka masala and garlic naan. The paneer was soft. The curry was good home indian style. One of the staff was not welcoming.
Chole bhature had an authentic taste! We also ordered paneer chilly, it was a bit chewy. Although tasty, food was on the oilier side.
Food was great. They pointed out vegan options and there were a ton to choose from. Food is spicy so order accordingly.
Food was really good. Service could have been better. We ordered special tandoori and the chicken was well cooked. Chicken do pyaza was decent too.
Food is good little oily but has good flavors best for take out it's in small place close to college campus. A good find. Will wmvisit again.
Lamb and mushroom dish was very good as was the saag paneer. This is the 3rd time coming here and have been satisfied each time.
Overall the food was very good except that it was a bit salty. We ordered lamb vindaloo and chicken aasala with garlic Naan and tandoori chicken. You need to pay for the water ( $1 bottle of water ), no water provided. I felt this way was safer and had no problem paying $1 for the water. The portion was big so that I had to have another curry for the dinner. After I put veges at home for my dinner, it was well seasoned to my taste. You must try tandoori chicken and recommended menus there. If you like spicy, they can make it very spicy. They didn't do a buffet at the time I visited!
The food was great. Paneer dishes are highly recommended. The cook/owner will ask you about the food and your experience which is not usual in Indian restaurants. I would suggest that that order ahead because the items will take a lot of time to cook which is something good as they are served fresh. Also, I wouldn't recommend their chicken curry but their chicken chilly was awesome.
Good food and the service was really appreciative, the quantities were little though.
🌟 Choole Bhature = Pure bliss If you love Choole Bhature, this is your spiritual home. Choole was spicy, soulful, and straight-up amazing. Bhature were fluffy enough to qualify as pillows. 🍗 Chicken Biryani... or was it Chicken Khichdi? Came expecting fireworks, got a gentle lullaby. More comfort food than celebration food. Not terrible, just not biryani. Let’s call it "Chicken Confusion Rice." 🕘 Late-night heroes We showed up fashionably (read: irresponsibly) late. Staff was still super sweet and made space for us with zero fuss. Major brownie points for hospitality! 💫 Overall Vibe: Cozy, welcoming, and full of flavor (except the biryani). Definitely going back—just not for the chicken biryani. 😜 Choole Bhature has my heart (and possibly my cholesterol).
It's a small, cute little store front. The tables were a bit wobbly and the floors are a bit slippery so wear something with good grip. Most food items on the menu other than the bread was closer to 20 dollars but not quite. It comes with filling portions. The garlic nan bread with the beef curry and chicken curry were absolutely delicious on top of the rice served. I got Chicken Malaysian I believe recommended by the server, it was delicious but the beef curry was my favorite as we all shared at the table. Very tender beef meat with great flavor. 😋 Even the mild dishes are a tad spicy if you can't do spice so be aware. It was not overwhelming for me personally. I originally came here because online it said it was a buffet but they have menus. I'm not sure if they still open as a buffet on specific days and times or not. But we gave it a try and the flavor is definitely worth trying this Indian food.
Good food, prompt service but cutlery and cups were dirty. Sitting arrangements were not that great. I could see the grease all over the wall. Food was good.
The food was really good. We ordered Chicken Tandoori and lamb curry. We have to buy the bottled water. The waiter forgot to bring the rice when we ordered the curry. They charge for the take-out box and the credit card transaction. Poor service.
Here is my review for delivery for phone order, and below is the review for the food. I took off one star cause of POOR delivery timing, and one cause of the food. Yes it’s authentic Indian food. They do take card but are more pushy for cash payments. Read on for details. ✨My take on DELIVERY (scroll below for food review):: So I want to start off saying, the delivery service is just really BAD! Took past an hour to get to me and food was just a bit warm. This is just messed up considering I was doing them a favor by not ordering through grub hub so they wouldn’t have to pay 20% to grub hub. So they asked me to order through phone for this reason and I obliged and said my order would get to me in 20-30 mins. I called back an hour after waiting for my food and asked them where my food was at? They said “it’s on its way now”— seriously?! Funny thing smh, it’s like they forgot until I called and reminded them- the guy shows up 10 mins later after the call! You could have at least been considerate and put in something small as a way of making it up to the customer. Something as small as some pappardum bread or really anything as an apology like wow (So yeah, ordered at 7:30pm for dinner and finally got to eat at 9:15pm). ✨Now, the FOOD review:: First off im brown, just as a reference for how much I know about Indian food. I ordered the Chicken Makhani (asked for medium spicy) which comes with rice, a naan, an order of samosas and an order of kheer. ✅What food was good:: The chicken Makhani was actually pretty good with the rice. If you can’t tolerate a regular amount of spice, ask them for light spicy. If you like your food spiced up a bit then go for medium! I also got an order of Aloo (potato) samosas which we’re also good with the chutney sauces. ❌What food wasn’t good:: As for the naan, because they took so long to deliver my food, was cold and soggy from staying in the foil too long, and it was half burnt (see photo). Disappointing for $2 a naan! The kheer—Was so watered down you would think they didn’t have enough kheer left after they took my order! It’s like they mixed whatever kheer they had left for the night. It was like soup consistency (that wasn’t cheap either, $4+tax). 📍Would I order from here again, maybe (depending on how hungry and how much I’m craving Indian food again) cause the delivery of my food was half of what ruined my experience of trying this place for the first time. Overall, some of the items are pricy here. The only things worth paying for is the main course dishes. I wouldn’t order sides again at their prices unless it’s fresh and hot upon delivery. 📍Advice to business***It would be nice if you guys can be more considerate of your delivery customers if they’re helping you by not ordering on grubhub! Because next time I’m thinking of ordering on grubhub so if I don’t get my food, at least I have proof that I ordered and paid and can file a complaint. Whereas if I ordered on the phone and paid, I’m just waiting around aimlessly for my food to come with no actual estimated time of delivery. It would be nice to have hot food also and not have to microwave it after it delivers.
This place has seen better days. First, THEY DON’T HAVE THE BUFFET. Haven’t had it since covid. So don’t go just for that (like we did). Second, their food is indeed good but oily — the naan, roti, and curries. Third, you have to pay a dollar for a bottle of water. So there were quite a few disappointments. But all things considered, their food was good — especially their tandoori dishes.
The food was good, very spicy so I recommend being very self-aware with your spice level. Got the chicken biryani and mushroom curry. Both were yummy. As well as the samosas. The service was ..okay, when our main course came out even though we were still enjoying our samosas they took our plates (weird?) as well as they only serve bottled water, which the first one is free but 1 bottle is not enough to sustain someone through a meal. The dining area was small but fine
Not a recommend restaurant. The food is too salty and not delicious. I have ask them to provide suger so we can add to the dishes to change the salty taste. The service is ok, asked Nana but got rise instead. Asked two water and one warn water but got three bottles water with additional charge. Not sure how they maintain their reputation?
Ordered paneer tikka masala and gravy was not at all good- felt more watery. Naan was good. Also they gave complimentary rice with paneer tikka masala. Definately not my go to place again.
Awful! Just look at the pictures and decide for your self if you want to eat the food or swim in it. The worst Indian food place around the area with very unprofessional service. The cleanliness of the place is disgusting. Please eat somewhere else as 3 of us puked after eating here. :)
NOT RECOMMENDED!!! had the worst experience at this restaurant. My friends and I ordered paneer makhani, lamb biryani, chilli chicken, and garlic naan. We specifically asked for mild spice levels, but the food was extremely spicy. We couldn't even take a single bite. When we complained, they just gave us dessert as a cover-up. Thats not what we wanted again we asked for the dishes to be remade, but they came back with the same level of spiciness. We ended up leaving the food untouched, but they still charged us. It ruined our evening, especially since we were looking forward to enjoying the biryani after a long day. Disappointing service and food quality.
Everything worst!. Food tasteless, extremely spicy for medium order, expensive for no reason. They charge for credit card fee, water also. Non sense. Never never never go!.
If there was an option to give zero or like negative stars I would have done that..I ordered from Doordash and in the specifications I told it to be mild still it was like really spicy, like there are bits of red chillies and its seeds in all of the dishes..I also asked to have less oil and salt..oil was less but the salt, really if this was less salt then I have no idea what is like if someone asks for extra salt..I threw all four dishes, so don't order malai kofta, paneer tikka masala, dal makhani, and chana masala..my husband and mine throat is like still hurting from eating the poison you just sent us..if there was an option to sue you guys I would have done it..horrible horrible food and service..never going to order food from here nor ever going to suggest anyone this place..and of course if possible change your chef because even in India, a food cart owner respects and accepts their customers requests unlike you guys...absolutely unprofessional
We ordered bunch of stuff, unfortunately the food wasn’t good. The rice was so cold, it felt like from yesterday or leftover’s we were the first customers when they opened at 1pm, food is clearly from previous day’s. They didn’t even bother warming it up. Place looks so old and I can only imagine how the kitchen is, so sorry to write this, I don’t wanna be mean to anyone, if the food was good, we could over look the cosmetics things and the ambiance. The staff had worn clothing that has stains all over them and they don’t realize they are not painters, they make food and hygiene js important. Anyways that my 2 cents we will never be here again.
DON'T GO! You'll get sick!! Worst food I've ever had!!! All oil and spice. Went in for a Monday lunch after looking at the amazing reviews this place had. The samosa stuffing smelled funny, was over fried. The veg biryani we ordered wasn't even close to a biryani. More like tawa pulao sauted in excess oil. The channa of the channa-bhatura was swimming in oil. Been sick of food every since I've had it.
We came from Ontario Canada for a day trip and decided to visit this place based on the reviews. The food was very bad and tasteless . We ordered paneer tikka masala spicy version, it was sweet and not at all spicy. The Tandoori roti was too thick to eat! Only one good thing that they give complimentary rice with sabji. Otherwise don’t fall into reviews, it’s not worth it.
Ordered pick up through DoorDash. My friend placed the order. We ordered three chicken Marsalas and two garlic naans. We get back home, open the bag and only have two chicken tikkis in the bag. We called back and they were apologetic and told us to come back. Annoying but whatever, we went back. We checked the bag before leaving the second time but did not open the container. When we got back home, the meal was still wrong. Picture attached. We ordered three of the SAME thing. We called the restraint BACK and they told us no, they had just cooked it and it is correct. Basically they refused to do anything about it but it clearly it is a whole different meal. Not to mention about an inch of oil on top of whatever it is. Horrible customer service. DoorDash wouldn’t refund it either so basically we just ate the cost. Won’t be returning.
strongly not recommended at all !!!!! dont go on rating please!! worst restaurant to visit !! staff was not at all adjusting enough to customise the order !!! ordered sugar free tea to which she replied preprepared tea is there tht has sugar in it !! please come on !!!! and we ordered chana bhathura that was not at all bhathura and channa was yuck!!! full of oil!!!!!! when complained they said channe aise he bante a!!!! mein thodi bnayi hoon didi bnate a
Terrible experience – avoid this place. Tandoori Hut in Buffalo is one of the worst Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to. The ambience was terrible, the place smelled unpleasant, and the food was overly oily, tasteless, and looked far from fresh. They didn’t even turn on the lights during dinner service, making it feel gloomy and unwelcoming. Not sure how they got good Google reviews, as there are plenty of bad comments out there. Be aware before wasting your time and money here.
The food quality was extremely poor. The dishes were oily, lacked flavor, and did not meet basic expectations. What was also disappointing is that we were pressured to place the entire order at once, with the explanation that preparation would take about 30 minutes. This made it impossible to try a few items first before ordering more, which felt intentional rather than customer-focused. Overall, the experience was unsatisfactory, and I would not recommend this place.
I was very disappointed by the lack of professionalism I experienced. I called to confirm whether the restaurant would be open based on the hours listed on their Google page, as I intended to dine in. Although they were scheduled to close an hour later, I was pressured to place an order and make payment over the phone. I explained politely that I was willing to pay immediately upon arrival. During the call, the staff member made inappropriate and disrespectful remarks, including stating, “Do your other family members not know how to read or write? Can they not pay?” These comments were uncalled for and highly unprofessional. Despite my reassurance that we were ready to pay and simply hungry, the conversation continued in a disrespectful manner. Due to this experience, I would not feel comfortable giving this business my patronage. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing interaction.
