Opinions de Bobs Big Boy Burbank
Just got into Burbank! My first stop was to Bob’s Big Boy! The wait was only took about ten minutes. I had Andrea as my waitress! She’s the best! If you go visit the Big Boy in Burbank, make sure you request Andrea as your waitress! Moreover, the food was amazing! I had the original Big Boy classic combo with a chocolate milkshake! A side note I had my chocolate milkshake at 2:30 pm. The same time David Lynch would have his chocolate milkshake everyday! Coming to visit this location was a big thrill for me and I will visit it again soon!
Huge portions! You definitely get your money's worth. Great service. Plenty of parking.
Our favorite place in LA! ❤️ Bob’s Big Boy always feels warm and welcoming. Amazing food and outstanding service every time. Huge thanks to the incredible team — especially manager Robert and servers Gaby and Ravyn. They are friendly, attentive, and truly make this place special. We keep coming back and highly recommend it! ❤️
I have enjoyed Bob's Big Boy for decades. Occasionally, you might see a celebrity there. Bob Hope himself used to eat there often. It's a good experience, especially if you have friends in from out of town. And number of movies have been shot there, which is kind of fun, but the building itself is the star. The food is typical 1950s diner style and they always get it right. I enjoyed the super big boy combo and the chili size with spaghetti, but there are lots of other options. Their soups are good, too. A lot of the employees have worked there for a very long time and so they know their business. I appreciate the comfort food and especially the atmosphere. Bob's is always worth a visit. Its iconic!
Bob’s Big Boy is the definition of comfort food and classic Americana. Every bite felt warm, familiar, and satisfying—the kind of food that just makes you feel good. It’s hearty, delicious, and exactly what you want when you’re craving something timeless and comforting. What made the visit even better was the history. You can really feel the legacy of the place, from the décor to the overall vibe—it’s like stepping into a living piece of diner history. We also loved checking out the merch! Such a fun touch and a perfect way to take a little piece of that nostalgia home. Between the comfort food, the rich history, and the charm, Bob’s Big Boy is an experience, not just a meal. We’ll absolutely be back.
What could I possibly say that hasn't already been said about this iconic place? Picked up my kid from Burbank Airport and I asked him if he was hungry. He says, "I could eat." I say to him, "Say no more. I know a place." Decided to stop for an early dinner (around 5pm) to avoid that tangled mess affectionately known as the Hollywood Split. Food was amazing, staff is friendly, attentive, and don't smother you by constantly checking in on you. Food service is quick and the portions are generous to say the least. I went with the "Original" Big Boy and it did not disappoint. It came with a salad and the burger was served with fries on the plate. My son, whom had never been there, said that his scrambled eggs and hash browns were perfect. Yes, they have breakfast all day and my son is as vanilla as vanilla can be when it comes to food. In short, if you want to get some good food after a long flight or just want to experience the cool vibe Bob's exudes, then do yourself a favor and pop on in, grab a spot at the counter or wait for a booth. You won't be disappointed.
Big Boy combo and a chocolate Coke! It's hard to beat. I've been to Bob's many times over the years, and it never disappoints. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. It's full of cinema history, and fun facts about who's eaten there in the past. I got to sit in the booth where the Beatles ate! It's just nice that a place that could easily become a tourist trap turns out to just be a genuinely good place to eat. They embrace their fun history, but foremost, they serve great food.
TL;DR: Classic diner with real charm, fast service, and better food than the big chains. After several visits, I’m sold. The room is welcoming, tables turn quickly even on weekend nights, and service stays friendly. Breakfast plates and waffles are always great, and the Super Big Boy combo is signature for them. Cherry Coke with syrup is a fun add. They really are just a reliably good diner that beats a lot of diners on flavor, pace, and vibe. Deserves high ratings. Pro Tips: • Peak hours get busy, but lines move. • Order waffles or chicken and waffles. • Get the Super Big Boy combo. • Late night is relaxed and quick.
Bob's Big Boy, October 4, 2025 12:48 am, I've lived here in the valley for years but it was the first time coming here to this Bob's Big Boy. Growing up we had one in North Hollywood that me & my whole family just ❤️ed! So now just being here brings back so many memories of days gone by & years long ago that nothing is better than great food & good family & friends being together enjoying life & some great old time music 🎶 playing on the speakers over head. "Thank You" to our servicer & to everyone else for a wonderful early morning time we really did enjoyed ourselves & I got the Original Bob's Big Boy Combo & OMG! The flavor was spot on & as I remembered it so delicious 🤤. My daughter & her Sister & her daughter & my granddaughter & her boyfriend they all got what they wanted to eat so as you can see in the pictures everything came out so yummy! 😋 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s for the service & for the food & for still being here Bob's Big Boy through out the years! 👍😎👍
It’s always brilliant coming here. That nostalgic feeling hits you as soon as you walk towards the front door. Once inside, the decor, staff and atmosphere take you back to better times. The food here is amazing. Having visited many times over the last 20+ years at different times of the day, we’ve had everything from hearty breakfasts to quick snacks. Can’t wait to come back.
This was my 1st time here. I had a good experience. I had the classic big boy burger and fries with a chocolate coke. Their fries have a great texture that's not soggy. A subtle sauce on their burger. It looks amazing here. Specifically, the architecture is unique nowadays. The decor is fun. I had to come here before they went. This is the original location. I hope they never leave, but I know they used to be more prevalent. I was reminded of their existence after watching Austin powers. Next time I'm trying the fried chicken.
Burbank’s Bob’s Big Boy location is truly one of the most orgasmic dining experiences one can have in Los Angeles. If you’re in the area and you’re looking for a place to dine you MUST go here, no questions asked. They have a very meat heavy menu but they also have a very decent selection of vegetarian options, I got their Veggie Melt with a side of onion rings and it was incredible! Their desserts are also top tier, you cannot go wrong with any of their shakes and the pie is absolutely to die for. Please dine here! You won’t regret it!
Growing up we spent atleast 2 Fridays a month at the Classic Carshow on Friday Night. So naturally I had to come here for a meal while I was in town visiting. I was torn between the Chili Spaghetti and their Club Sandwich. But went with the Spaghetti, it is one of my favorites, however I used to sub for corn bread, however they no longer have corn bread. No biggie. My boyfriend got their new Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich which was really good. We both got Cherry Cokes - they are much better with the cherry pumped in by hand than out of a machine. Alot is the same from the booths to the decor, there has been a few menu changes since my last time here. The staff is still friendly, and treat the regulars like family, the food is still as good as I remember it. Bob's will always have a special place in my heart 🫶
To see the Big Boy out front brought back good memories. This iconic restaurant satisfied our taste buds. The All American Burger combo was delicious. A 1/2 pound patty cooked how you like it. The relish was just as I remembered. We sat at the counter no waiting if there's open seats. Our waitress Nancy was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was busy with a good vibe. Lots to look at. They have souvenirs at the front counter. Go enjoy some good food and history. You might even see a Star.
Old school diner chain filled with nostalgia. I had never been before, however my dining partner remembers the chain when they were located all over California. It was a great blast from the past, and definitely worth the experience by itself, as demonstrated by the long wait (45 mins) and a wedding party at 7pm. We both ordered the burgers, with a soda and cup of chili. The food was average, somewhat mediocre. Neither here nor there, not bad nor good. I think I'd go back and try something else, and maybe have a more positive opinion of it. Server was very sweet and provided good customer service, although she forgot a few things (including bringing our bill). However, I chalked that up to the fact that the restaurant was completely full with a waitlist. Long story short, burgers are okay but may recommend trying something else. Review is mostly for the nostalgia. And don't go during peak times.
I moved from the L.A. area in 1982, so I haven't been to Bob's Big Boy since then. My grandmother lived within walking distance to Bob's, so I used to enjoy the double-deck burger. Stepping into Bob's the other day was like traveling back in time, so it was deliciously nostalgic. The place was bustling with an old, energetic diner crowd. The food was good, but not as fantastic as my childhood memories. So, if you want to step back in time to experience 1950s or 1960s diner culture, Bob's Big Boy is the place to be.
Classic spot with a great vibe! Bob’s Big Boy definitely lives up to its reputation for that old school diner atmosphere. The place has that nostalgic charm you don’t see much anymore, retro decor, jukeboxes, and a fun, laid back crowd. It’s the kind of place that feels like it hasn’t changed in decades, and that’s a good thing. I had one of the signature burgers and it totally hit the spot! Juicy, classic flavors, just greasy enough to feel like a real diner burger. My son had a burger and fries and cleaned his plate, so that’s always a win. The fries were crispy and fresh, exactly what you want at a place like this. Now the standout? The Vanilla Coke. It was on another level! Ice cold, perfectly sweet, and took me straight back to childhood. Honestly one of the best I’ve had anywhere. I’d come back just for that. Only downside: my wife had the shrimp plate and wasn’t impressed. She said it was bland and rubbery, and definitely not what you’d expect from a place that nails comfort food. So maybe stick to the burgers, shakes, and classic diner stuff. Overall, still giving it 4 stars because the experience was great, service was friendly, food came out fast, and it’s just a cool spot to hang out. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area, especially if you’re into iconic, retro LA eats.
Bob’s Big Boy is a fun piece of Americana with a lot of charm and history—but the food and service didn’t quite live up to the nostalgia. The atmosphere is cool, especially if you’re into retro diners and classic cars. It feels like stepping back in time, and the statue out front is iconic. Great for photos, and there’s definitely a “Route 66” kind of vibe. The food, though, was pretty average. The burger was fine, but nothing special. Fries were lukewarm, and the milkshake tasted more like soft serve in a cup than anything hand-scooped. Service was slow and a bit disorganized. It wasn’t super busy, but things still took a while and felt a little scattered. If you’re coming for the experience, it’s worth a visit. Just don’t expect to be blown away by the food.
Normally we have good experiences at Bob's but tonight was far from that. We ended up ordering online to pick up and eat inside of our car on the way home, only to find that after a couple of bites, there was a toothpick lodge into the side of burger. We took it back inside and the guy's response was to show how the toothpick was originally suppose to be placed, almost to suggest that we purposely mislodged it instead of the kitchen staff. After saying how dangerous this was, because it could have hurt my dad if he swallowed it, we got a refund for our order. There was no offer to remake the burger, so we left without that part of our order. Extremely disappointed by the lack of care in regards to the dangers that placing a TOOTHPICK into the side of the burger can cause for anyone.
Seems like a tourist trap than an actual restaurant. It was my dad's milestone birthday, so I wanted to treat him to a special lunch at this place. The service was very, very slow. We waited at least 30 minutes to get seated after leaving our name on the waitlist. After arriving at our seat, we waited another 15 minutes for the waiter to take our order. After leaving the order, it took an additional 30-40 minutes for the food to arrive. We spent around 2 hours at the place, from joining the waitlist to paying our bill. Also, to make matters worse, mid-way through our meal, we were rushed to pay the bill. Seriously? We waited patiently to get seated and get our food, but they couldn't wait until we finish it? This has to be one of the worst services I've had in a while. The waiter herself seemed fine, but the restaurant wasn't handling customers efficiently. They probably forgot our order somewhere down the line? Nevertheless, they should be transparent and apologize. We witnessed groups that came in 10 minutes after us get served quicker, and leave sooner. I love the retro theme and vibes, but the terrible dining experience outweighs the vibes. We didn't feel like leaving a tip since we had already paid it in time. Also, the food wasn't impressive. Definitely not something I'd wait 2 hours for. I don't normally write reviews this low, but I can't let bad experiences slide, especially if I'm paying for it.
