Opinions de Prime Pizza Burbank
I’m rating this based on food alone, which is why it’s getting 5-stars. The Sicilian was absolutely perfect. One of the best pizzas I’ve had. My ONLY complaint was the cheapskate owner who charged me $2 for a tiny ranch after I spent $63 on two pizzas. It was laughable that he charged me for the ranch. That’s really the only negative thing I have to say. If I factored that into my rating this would be 3-stars. However, I think it’s only fair to rate it on the food. And it was amazing.
Best pizza I've had in a long time. I had a slice of spicy pepperoni. Flavor, texture and appearance were all perfect. They have beer but no stouts. It's a small joint with minimal seating. Parking lot is small too but decent street parking. Definitely 5 stars. Check out my profile for more happening joints.
I have been wanting to try Prime Pizza for a while due to the great reviews by Eater LA. My wife and I were near Burbank, and we were hungry. Their location in Burbank has a take-out window and a small parking lot. I got a grandma slice, and my wife got a Sicilian slice. Each slice cost $5.00. The slices came out really quick, and the customer service was great. I would highly recommend the grandma slice. The grandma slice was crispy on the edges but still felt light. The taste of the crispy cheese was the best part. The sauce tasted fresh. The Sicilian was not overcooked and was very flavorful. If you only want slices, you can only get them before 5:00 P.M. on the weekends. If you want a whole pie, then you should order it online before you get there. There are a lot of pizza places in LA, but Prime Pizza gets the closest to what I would find on the East Coast. It is definitely worth a return visit. Update (06/18/2021): I tried the plain slice. Although the sauce and crust was good, the grandma and Sicilian slices are definitely the ones to get.
Pizza was good, pizza salad combo was good value, salad was larger than expected, salad was only available with Italian and ranch costs $1.50 a cup. Dine in experience is pretty bare bones, clearly targeted at to go delivery
We ordered a thin crust spicy sauce pepperoni pie and a gluten free spicy pepperoni pie and both were very delicious! The thin crust pizza is huge! My husband will have lots of leftovers. The GF is smaller. The service was excellent and right on time and the employees were friendly and seemed to like their job. Fun place to go and fun food
You want thin crust and the fresh flavorful ingredients. Get your pizza pie here. They are pricey but worth it. They splurge on the toppings and the crust is just right. The pineapple, bacon (good thick kind), the pepperoni, cheese + side of yummy parmagiane, and mushroom is my FAV. Take the giant slice, eat the falling bacon or pineapple pieces. No wasting of the fine toppings. Fold and insert in your mouth. Robusto flavors. Add wine or beer and heaven. Enjoy.
This place caught my mind’s eye and trapped it in a thirst for pizza. Finding it online… and I finally stopped in. Going to sample a vegan pizza for a future delivery I thought. But vegan is only for whole pies, nothing by the slice. After ordering a Sicilian & Grandma slice. 👌🤤will come back for the vegan another day ☝️🍕
Prime Pizza hits like your favorite neighborhood joint—no frills, just solid craftsmanship in every slice. The thin crust had that whisper of char underneath, held its structure, and even gave a satisfying crunch when folded—a small victory considering it showed up via Uber. The cheese had those golden brown bubbles, and the pepperonis curled up into crispy little chalices of salt and joy. No oil slick, no dryness—just balance. And yeah, I went big on the 16 oz ranch because I have no shame. It’s thin, tangy, with a zing that cuts through the fat like it knows exactly what it’s doing. Prime isn’t trying to be trendy—it’s just doing damn good pizza. And in a world full of overhyped dough and gimmicky toppings, that’s something worth biting into.
Man, you gotta try this place. I was sold on the cheese alone! But I love a thin slice. The sauce was simple in the way you can appreciate it. Tomatoes, oregano, some salt. Not sweet, but great acidity and freshness. But the cheese! I've tried a ton of pizza in Glendale (mostly) and I've never tasted cheese like this. Really enjoyed myself. Coming back soon.
Great Pizza! The Grandma and Sicilian pies are extraordinary. A light crispy crust with a tangy sauce and generous amounts of mozzarella make these pies worthy of my rating. The pies have crunchy camalized crusts. The Grandma has ricotta and pesto on top. Add pepperoni and your taste buds go to heaven! Their round pies are thin crust, cheesy and very tasty. On a weekend you better get your order in early because they may run out of dough!
The pizza was delicious, price was great- and the staff was really sweet! It was my birthday when we went and they gave me an extra treat 🥹 Will definitely be back!
Was in beautiful Burbank for a work conference and one of the locals recommended Prime Pizza. So glad they did! When I arrived, the line was out the door and it's easy to see why - so good! Great crust (gluten-free crust was great too!), amazing meatballs and delicious. I had leftovers for days!
Finally made it to Prime Pizza in Burbank and it totally lived up to the hype. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in LA! My son loved the regular pepperoni slices, and I had the spicy pepperoni square and Sicilian slice, both were amazing! Easy parking, great seating inside and outside, and I love that you can order by the slice or full pies. The staff was also super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend it and we’re definitely coming back!
Prime is probably the best pizza chain in LA. Pies are always delicious. They have slices for walk in. Easy to order ahead on their website and theyll text you when its ready. Just a smooth, convenient way to get tasty food
Hands down one of the best slices in the Valley. Prime Pizza in Burbank absolutely nails that classic New York style — crispy crust, perfect fold, and sauce that actually tastes like real tomatoes instead of sugar. Every bite feels intentional, from the light char on the crust to the gooey cheese stretch that makes you pause mid-conversation. The pepperoni slice is unbeatable — crispy cups with that satisfying little pool of oil that screams flavor. The cheese slice hits all the right nostalgic notes, and if you grab a square slice, you’ll get that beautiful caramelized edge that’s hard to find anywhere else. No gimmicks here — just pure, high-quality pizza made with care. The staff’s always friendly, the vibe’s laid-back, and the pizza comes out hot and fresh every time. Whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or taking a whole pie to go, Prime Pizza Burbank never disappoints. In short: Real pizza lovers already know — this place is prime for a reason.
This is our new favorite local spot. Here's what my 10y/o had to say about Prime Pizza "These guys know what they're doing. The bread is crispy at the bottom, it has a lot of sauce and the cheese pull is insane. Definitely 10/10"
A great by the slice pizza place. Small little restaurant, big flavor. The offerings were tasty but freshness is key as the heat lamp can dry them out. The crust is super crunchy and don't sleep on their Detroit style pan pizza.
Best pizza in Burbank ! And on of the best of LA. The Sicilian is our favorite. The dough is perfect, soft and crunchy at the same time. We love also the regular Cheese pizza. Great to eat in the small outdoor area they have or great to go. Staff super helpful and nice. A must try pizza in LA!
Great pizza Dave Portnoy didnt let me down in his review.ordered a whole round pepperoni very good! Cruat is thin and crisp and sauce isnt sweet it was great! And the nice cup pepperoni Also tried a slice of the Sicilian..BOMB! And white slice also very good.
Stopped by on my local group ride for some pizza and beer and was very pleased. The pizza was delicious the prices were reasonable and they had a good amount of beer and wine. I had a slice of a deep dish and a new york style cheese pizza which was very good.
3 slices of cheese pizza - 5 🌟! This is my second Prime Pizza review. Prime Pizza makes excellent thin crust pizza and offers it up by the slice which is often what I'm looking for as a good, quick and tasty lunch. They seem to be slowly rolling put an LA based expansion with more locations coming out over the year. I was happy to see the experience I had at the first location was matched by their Burbank expansion. I sort of vaguely remember an Italian deli style place in the spot before but happy that Prime Pizza took over. The building sits on its own lot and there is parking plus good street parking. They have a great, large outdoor patio that is on the best side of the building for afternoon shade. In a city full of pizza options, Prime Pizza is one worth visiting.
I write a lot of restaurant reviews of all kinds of different foods, especially from a vegetarian perspective, in many places all over Los Angeles and the world...but all I really need out of life is solid NYC pizza slices. Where I live in the Santa Clarita Valley they're hard to come by, so a drive to Burbank to discover a place that checks all the boxes for NYC slices, and offers more deliciousness...well, warm up the car, honey, we're going out tonight! My wife, son and I visited together...it's a small spot with just a few parking spaces...we were lucky to nab one. You order at the conter in a sort of inside space and then take it to go or eat at their outside tables. They've got super-rock solid NYC slices. We all had cheese slices to start and had no complaints...perfect crust...perfect ratio of cheese to sauce (ie not too much cheese and not too little sauce) gave us the exact experience we were looking for. Hallelujah! Enter their thicker square pie slices...more Detroit style...not your typical, basic restaurant pizza...but truly fantastic and perfectly cooked crispy dough with all kinds of enticing options on top...we had Sicillian slices of this variety and are still salivating over the gorgeous flavors that went into our mouths. If Prime Pizza opened in Santa Clarita, we'd set up camp outside and never leave. It was super good...well worth the 20 minute drive from where we were and they have plenty of reasons on their menu for us to go back, try new things, and have more of what we really loved. This is excellent NYC and Sicilian/Detroit style pizza, right in Burbank. This is what we've all been looking for.
As an NJ native, I fully endorse this pizza. I recommend getting your pie or slice “well done”. The Sicilian and the grandma are must-try. My go-to is plain pie with meatballs.

Excellent pizza! We got a large Pepperoni Pizza our first time (cause if you can’t do that right, no thank you.) it was an EXCELLENT NY Style slice and I would for sure get it again as a Bostonian (we know Pizza). I just wish they didn’t have a bunch of guys standing out on the ramp and waiting on the parking lot to get Uber Eats or DoorDash orders. They kind of act as an intimidating, unfriendly presence. If they could just not stand in the walkway up to the restaurant, I wouldn’t have to say this 🤣 8.4/10 Pepperoni Pizza, excited to try their other stuff!
We ordered a thin crust spicy sauce pepperoni pie and a gluten free spicy pepperoni pie and both were very delicious! The thin crust pizza is huge! My husband will have lots of leftovers. Sliced pizza is good a bit pricey but good. Went the day it rained so we had to wipe our table off. Lot of locals eat there at lunch time.
Ordered ahead on a Sunday night. Got the supreme pizza, it took about 45 minutes, which was fine since we were out running errands. We received a text when it was ready which was pretty on par to when the estimate said the food would be ready. The inside is quite small and extremely cramped with everyone waiting around for their take out. We ate in side the car in the parking lot. It's a very small lot, that's in an abstract shape, but we were lucky to find a spot. I went in and was helped pretty immediately. The person helping me was very nice, she even held the door open with me as I walked out with an 18" pie. The pizza was good, it's thin crust but good quality. All the other ingredients were fresh and good quality. I had a couple tough pieces of sausage but outside of that no real complaints. While I liked the pizza, it honestly lacked a wow factor for me to love it, especially for $30.50 for a pie. I'm glad we tried it, but I dont think ill be back again soon. I would like to come back and try the square pizzas. It's worth a stop and a try but nothing mind blowing.
The pizza is legit and a must try if you can make it. There is little seating inside and some seating outside which isn’t the greatest since the joint is located on a main road. I highly recommend trying this place out for take out or delivery.
Cheese pizza crust gets 6 🌟 . So crispy, not greasy, one of the best I've had. The meat lovers square pizza was packed with meats, however the thin crust was my favorite. The salad was delicious, great vinaigrette. The place was a busy, to go, pick up was hopping. Parking is limited, but if you wait, you'll get a spot. My niece and her fiance wanted to try this place out and they loved it. Would, and we will come back again. Tables need to get cleaned, I know they're picnic style, but a good scrubbing would help, maybe a coat of paint would make it easier to clean.
Saw this place hyped on Tic Tok. I’m a little disappointed. The cheese and sauce were scant. We had four slices, the Grandma, Spicy Pepperoni, Vodka and Sicilian. The Grandma was like eating a bread stick. The Pepperoni was spicy and had the most flavor. The Vodka was more tomato than vodka sauce. Meh…
My friend recommended coming here to try this pizza place since he been to the LA location. The first thing you should know about this location is that the parking here is very limited and small. I was lucky to find a spot in the front and we were lucky enough to find a table inside too since it was raining. They have outdoor seating but no one was sitting there because it was all wet. They only have like 4 tables inside and it's very small so be aware. When we arrived they had people inside waiting for their order and also people picking up to go order. I wanted the spicy pepperoni pizza but they ran out so my friend and I got the regular pepperoni pizza. I also got the lemon pepper wings with ranch. The pizza came out first and then my wings. I thought the pizza crust was crunchy and the taste was okay. The lemon pepper wings were not my favorite, I like another wings spot way better. My friend got a full bbq chicken pizza to go for his family. The customer service was great, they bring the food to you and also clean your table afterwards.

I am not one to normally post a review, even if I were to go and have a one-off of bad service. I am a customer service worker myself, and could understand having or experiencing an off day, it happens to us all. I have been at this prime pizza 3 times total, and each time I have been the pizza it’s pretty good, the wait time is pretty fast and the store is pretty clean and busy, but the customer service is genuinely awful. I do not expect over the moon customer service whatsoever, but every time I have been here the employees have been incredibly rude, sour toned, or just completely ignored me all together. The first time I came here I was with a few friends, who were also treated like this unprompted. The mistake I made was writing it off as anything other than poor customer service.
Recession pizza - mostly baked dough ordered a supreme and hardly got any sauce, cheese, meat veggies. I got skimped bad. I want to give one star but my wife won't let me.
Best pizza in Brooklyn is one of my favorite pizza spots (tie with John’s of Bleeker street in NY) so I have to say I was disappointed with all but one of the slices I had today at prime. Maybe I just came in on the wrong day because the whole experience was a bit off, including the guy behind the counter that kept having issues with the credit card machine. We had a few pepperoni slices, a cheese slice, and a square slice. The square was good and it influenced my 3 star rating. I can see how if LA pizza is all you have tried, you will think this pizza is amazing. I really was hoping that it would be just as good as Best Pizza in NY, but maybe that is where I went wrong…expecting perfection. I’ll be back to give it another shot. Hoping round 2 is better.

I really wanted to like the pizza. Ordered a Supreme tonight.... my first order from Prime. It looked OK and smelled really good. The flavor was pretty good, but within 15 minutes I got queezy and nearly threw up. Not just me, same for my adult son who also ate the pizza. Something was really off with this food. I have a fairly iron stomach, so this is not on me. As for the atmosphere, it was really off-putting. Was met at the door and not allowed inside. A guy retrieved my pizza and handed it off to me at the door. Uh... what? To me, this means the price point is all wrong for this kind of takeout only, maybe sit on a bench outside kind of restaurant. The only plus was that the pizza was ready when they said it would be. Not for me. YMMV.
The pizza is fantastic but waiting well over 2 hours for a pizza and salad to be delivered is ridiculous (especially when charging $75 dollars). I truly love the pizza but I don’t think I’m going to order again after SO MANY times of getting pizza an hour after the estimated delivery time.
Only part is really shine ✨ it’s their pizza bread I ordered supreme pizza I literally can count my pepperoni it was 15 pieces and few pieces sausage and heard a lot of things pizzeria but nothing special Just good pizza dough nothing more
the cashier was not very helpful, the pizza was so hard my jaws hurted the whole time trying to chew on hard pizza for $60 waste of money, i would never ever go back. my jaws hurted so bad from chewing, i have been having a horrible migraine
Underwhelming pizza. What makes this place attractive is the online photos look good and for a slice or lunch special the price is pretty decent. When you try it you realize why, they are cutting corners to save money, pizza is thin with very little toppings or the thick pepperoni squares that I tried have almost no cheese and is very oily. The garlic knots where dry and not satisfying, as I was eating I was thinking that pizza hut is actually tastier.
Same as another reviewer stated, I wish I could give this zero stars. This is the worst pizza we have ever had and the worst food we have had in LA during the 25+ years we have lived here. I truly don't understand the hype. I never leave reviews but thought this time I needed to do so. To give some background, we are from the East Coast and know true NY Style pizza...this is not it! It was served lukewarm, with hardly any toppings and was rock hard. The crust was like biting into a hard cracker. There was hardly any cheese and no flavor whatsoever... and it looked like it had been sitting out for a while. We also ordered the lemon pepper chicken wings. The wings had a nice flavor and the ranch was excellent but our order came with a wing that looked like someone took a bite out of it...it was missing half of it's meat. Also, the wings were incredibly small with a crispy skin and hardly any meat - all skin...if you like it that way. Seating is very limited so we had to sit outside which is just picnic tables in the parking lot. We had to sit in the sun, with the wind blowing our cups and plates around, next to cars (coming and going) and enjoy (Not!) the lovely smell of pot smoking from the young diners next to us....all while listening to the traffic from the intersection. At $55 for one meatball pizza, an order of chicken wings, and one can of Coke, this was the worst waste of money. We will not being going back. If you want NY Style pizza, drive to Encino and visit Mulberry Street Pizzeria...they know how to do it right! We were going to Mulberry but decided to give our local biz a try....that was a mistake.
This is a picture of the absolute WORST pizza I EVER had in my life. This abomination of a pizza was at Prime Pizza in Burbank. The reasons why this pizza was an abomination. 1. The sauce was salty. 2. The sauce was watery. 3. The pizza needed mozzarella cheese. 4. The toppings were haphazardly applied to the pizza. Those abomination costs $30.

I wanted a warm slice. I paid $19.30 including a $3.00 tip to pick up two slices and two drinks. I got five slices…….. of the nastiest, coldest, chewiest, most 2 to 3 day old pizza slices…… I mean absolutely disgusting. It’s nice the kid held the door open on the way out, it would’ve been nicer to get actual food though. I ordered it an hour and 15 minutes in advance as well, and this was at 6 pm, prime dinner hours. I mean ice cold, old as hell, not even edible without getting you sick type of pizza. Crust so crunchy and hard I feared for my tooth bonding. Wash it down with some insanely watery house-made iced tea for peak experience. The can of Coke was good, though.
