Opinions de Torque Grill and Cantina Burleson
Torque is a great place! Our first time eating here tonight, and everything about it was awesome! Great food, great service, great pricing, great atmosphere. Street tacos were amazing! They have a huge menu, and great kids menu. Sit outside and listen to live music, or sit inside and watch the game of your choice on one of the many TV’s. Multiple patio heaters to go with the best outdoor space in Burleson. We found our new go to place in Burleson! Ernesto and Lynn - it was great meeting you all tonight. Thank you for bringing Torque to Burleson! My family and I will be back to see y’all again sooner than later.
My husband and I have been here a few times now, and we really enjoy the food (some twists on traditional Tex-Mex and burger fare) and atmosphere. The owner is very present and the staff is on top of things. I've seen other reviews that have complaints as far as waits for food and staff; I have not had these issues across several visits.
Went for the first time today with my 3 Daughters. The Food , Service Everything was Excellent we will Definitely be back large portions, Great prices so many options large menu Thank you for an Excellent lunch
My husband and I had dinner here tonight. They servers were testing a new system. It worked good for us but the table of women next to us loudly admitted they didn’t like it. One proceeded to tell the waitress she had been waiting for 15 mins for her. (They had only been seated 5 mins or less and the server had been over once before). The server handled the testy women with class and professionalism. We unfortunately did not get the severs name but kudos to her!
My family and I have been traveling around Texas for about a week and this place is hands down the best food and service we've had. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants authentic Texmex. It is very clean and has a cool car theme. Side note, they have great vegan options!
Pleasantly surprised, a lil confusion on which door to go in when sign says go around to enter, but once inside cool atmosphere. Wasn't busy so waitress yelled out sit wherever you like I yelled back ok will do l😆 🤣 Menu had a pretty good selection 😋 I had the impossible meat streat tacos wot black beans and rice it was delightful Wife had regular street tacos Stevie was our waitress she was awesome 👌 We'll be back
Can yall get tortilla chips that are much more crispy and thinner. We love this place but just like any other Mexican food place. We eat chips and salsa while waiting on our food. There's normally 4 of us coming in there and none of us could eat the chips. Very disappointed! Everything is always terrific except those chips. We haven't been in awhile bc of the chips.
Great spot with vegan and vegetarian options...and it's here in Burleson! Food was very good, drinks were strong, and staff were very friendly and glad to help. I had the Chimichanga with impossible meat and Vegan Queso. The vegan Cashew queso is kind of sweet, but not bad, the regular queso is much better. The chips and salsa were clearly homemade and tasted great. Definitely will stop here again... Even after this 30 day vegetarian challenge I agreed to.
The food was incredible. Great ambience and atmosphere and the Chimichanga was the best I have had. Have to get the Carnitas! Great variety of the menu and the outdoor patio with couches is spacious and on point. Great place to chill and have a cocktail as well. I highly recommend this gem.
My wife and I went last night. Great place. The chips are thick and crunchy. The queso bowl was more than we could eat. The nachos were great, and my wife liked her flautas. They also have a good selection of beers on draft. Great atmosphere, good service. I'll definitely be going back.
10/10 would eat here again! Chips and salsa were on point! Guac was good and man the tacos were delicious! Very picky with my street tacos but this place has some of the best ones I’ve had in town so far! We had a small issue with our waitress but the owner made sure we were taken care of and listened to our problems! Like I told him today, I am definitely going to coming back for more! If you are looking for yummy(and strong!)margaritas, good asada tacos good service this is the place to go!
Very cool place. Stacy was the person that took care of my order. Very professional and the food was great. Had a ground beef chimi with rice and chiro beans. Desert was fantastic. Mini tortillas filled with cheesecake cubes and chocolate. I will definitely return and recommend this place to anyone that enjoys texmex.
They are new so if you go with a big party be patient and flexible. Food was great service was great look forward to trying more thing's. Had a chimichanga with carnitas. Pork was perfect, flavor was great, fried nice and crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside. Vegan options for most of the menu. We will definitely be back!
I love this place!!!! Always a nice crowd of people, many families eating. The food is the hot diggity dog!! The beer is awesome. The staff is always welcoming and the atmosphere is great. I love this place!!
Oh my lord, Deeann had the best service and attitude for being a bartender she made me feel so at home. She was knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. I highly recommend not only the restaurant and it's amazing food but Deeann's wonderful service
Love this place. Street tacos are excellent. Just 2 things i wish would improve... 1. Offer curbside and 2. Even though door dash says my order is ready I still always have to wait although my food is always fresh so maybe thats not a bad thing
Where to start! This place is awesome, greeted as soon as we walked in and seated right away. The waitress was pretty busy but made sure to stop at our table every opportunity to let us know that she will be with us shortly. One our orders were taken, we waited maybe 10 min and everything was coming to our table. Now there is a mandatory gratuity added to the bill when there is a large party, but nothing to be alarmed about because the service is on point and it takes the hassle out of trying to decide what a good tip would be to leave for such wonderful service. Totally worth it! Will definitely be returning with wife for date nights! The owners are usually walking around greeting and interacting with customers as well. I love this place!
So many selections and delicious. Definitely a place to go to. Great chips and salsa, spark plugs were great( jalapeño poppers) Spud racer birria elote for the wife and she loved it all. Mini Burgers were great and I shared with my son. Loved the deviled eggs and lug nuts(elote in a cup) Wanted to try the cheesecake chimichangas but we were stuffed.
Upset that they closed this place down! It became a weekly tradition for me and my husband! It was our favorite lunch spot! The food and service were amazing!
Plenty of food to choose from. Tasty Mexican food. Large menu. Lively atmosphere. It was tasty and flavorful. Clean restaurant. Sports bar feel. It was slow when we arrived. Not busy. Our waitress had one table most of the time. Service was slow and not very attentive. She was polite and friendly. Plenty of parking.
Food was fantastic, service was 5+, and atmosphere was great! My husband had the surf and turf and he is very picky and was extremely happy and left a happy plate with nothing left and I'm vegetarian and they had PLENTY of options for me. They cater to GF & V too.
My husband and I recently went vegan for our health and I found y’all on Door Dash. I am forever in love with the Vegan Torta. We have been in the last two Sundays after church and have ZERO complaints. Amazing service, amazing food. The girl we got this Sunday was brand new (she told us) and was super pleasant and very detailed when taking our order. I am super glad we have an amazing place with Vegan options that are actually good! We are in LOVE!!!
This is a great little hidden gem that deserves a look. Waitress was great, food was good, and the manager came out to make sure. I would visit again. This is a great place with a patio to hang out and drink a beer. Pool and darts. Biker friendly.
I absolutely love torque!! The food is amazing and the staff is incredibly sweet. The best vegan food around burleson, and that’s hard to come by. I’ve eaten here twice in the past 2 days, and have no problems with my food at all- I’ve tried the Birria tacos, pozole, quesadillas, chips and salsa, loaded fries and the queso, ALL FANTASTIC!! I definitely recommend supporting this family owned business especially if you are vegan, they have lots of great options even with cheese, butter and sour cream! You’d never even know it’s vegan. On to the atmosphere- 10/10 cleanliness, the restroom is spotless, the floors are clean, the restaurant is well kept up and clean. The staff is very sweet and will do whatever to make sure you leave with a smile on your face. The restaurant is very unique and you won’t find anything like it anywhere else.
What a cool place! Was so nice to see the old used car lot turned into a great little cafe. The atmosphere is old muscle car style. The items on the menu all have sporty, race car themes. The shrimp cocktail is fantastic, all the sandwiches we have tried are very good also. Live bands out back on the weekends when weather allows. Give ‘em a shot, very casual and fun. We’ll be back!
I order take out food from here waaay more often than I should but the food is to blame! It is fantastic every time. The consistency with great tasting food is really impressive. Their street tacos are my favorite and their tortilla chips are the best!
This is a great local spot for Tex-Mex and beer, plus a cool patio setup with roll-up garage doors for when it's not 108 degrees in the shade. The menu is expansive, creative, and vegan + gluten free friendly. Everything came out fresh and tasted fabulous.
Best place to hold a party. You can reserve certain areas of the restaurant. They are so awesome- the food is ready on time, the area is clean, the staff is perfect!! I held two bday parties here and they were great!! Most recently I held my class reunion at Torque and it could not have gone any better!! Best venue around!!
This restaurant is exactly what the Joshua/Burleson border needed. I grew up in Joshua and visit my parents here once or twice a year, and I’ve been to Torque twice this week. The food is really good and the proportions are big. The drink specials are awesome too! I’m personally a big fan of the refried beans. I’ve watched restaurants come up and down so many times in this area, so I just really want this one to stick around! You just have to follow the signs when you go in because it’s a new development so they don’t fill up both buildings in the middle of the week day.
My husband and I go here on a regular basis. We typically love having our date night at the bar but, we also come with our entire family. We have never had a bad experience. Nor have we ever eaten one thing off of the menu that we did not like. I suggest if you have not tried this place give them a chance. The owners are super friendly and truly care about their customers experience!!
This place is huge. Lots of indoor seating and also a really nice outdoor patio. Live music on weekends. Exceptional food and really friendly staff. Definitely a new local favorite. 😁
This is such a cool spot. The attention to detail is extraordinary. The cocktails are stiff, the service is very friendly. I had the street tacos and they were the best I’ve had outside of Austin. It took us a minute to figure out how to get inside, a bit odd but maybe because it was a slow afternoon, or everyone but me has already discovered the path..so glad we figured it out! Two of my grandchildren were with me, they got the Mac and cheese (it was fine) but be warned, it has bell peppers and my two pickey eaters were APPALLED. But it comes with a side of fries that got an APlus all around. The bill was what passes for very reasonable these days. The three of us ate for under 40$. We just missed lunch so ordered off the dinner menu. The menu is a lot! An amazing assortment of Tex-mex and American.
The food here was absolutely delicious. We split the Birria Tacos and the loaded jumper cable fries - chicken and bacon ranch flavor. Our waitress was super helpful and answered all of our questions and made good recommendations. She was also the manager of the bar but since we were here for lunch we didn't get to sample any of the drinks. We will definitely be back for more because there were several more items on the menu we didn't get to try! We have driven by this place several times and wanted to try it but it always looked like it was closed. There's not a lot of signage saying that they're open so you have to be persistent. The door to get in is not very clearly marked but we found it and are glad we did.
It's a little out of the way, but so worth it. We went on a Friday, so they had their fry-day specials for appetizers, and they did not skimp on the cheese sauce for the loaded fries! I got the Biohazard tacos and was stuffed before I finished my 2nd of 3. I chose the mini lug nuts (elote) for my side, and I loved every bit of all of it. My wife got the chimichanga and loved it. Overall, the food was excellent and the service was great. We will absolutely return!
This is the second time I've been to Torque. The restaurant is family owned and I love that. I enjoy supporting local family businesses. Food: The head chef is a Culinary Institute of America graduate and it shows. Food is the passion and the food is amazing. I have already tried several of their dishes, but tonight we had the Rice Burner "tacos" and the Lift Kit nachos (both pictured). The Rice Burner was delicious with an amazing teriyaki sauce and the wonton shell was near perfect. The side of Elote was flavorful and really could be a meal on it's own. The Nachos was large in size and can feed two people with a great balance of chip to toppings, all of which were delicious. If you like chips and salsa (which I do), the regular salsa is superbly flavored and if you like a real kick, try the Habanero sauce (liquid fire but with flavor!). Drinks are good and the margaritas are made with fresh squeezed lime. We tried the Mango, Paloma (super yummy), and the Antifreeze (house margarita), all are pictured. Their steaks (not pictured) are perfect mediums and the Carnitas (not pictured) both of which melt in your mouth. I will be back more often to work through the menu because the workers are nice and friendly, the business is local, and the food is good. 5/5.
Wow. Burger- amazing. Onion rings- amazing. Drinks- amazing. Husband said chimichanga- amazing. I want to give 4 stars for the weird ordering system using the QR code, but I don't care. Everything was too amazing. I was a server before and this QR code makes horrible customers not be able to yell at waitresses for wrong orders. A slight technology inconvenience, but hey, it's worth it.
The Stack Attack Burger with double meat, bacon, cheese, and fried egg was delicious! By the way, it’s HUGE. BEST burger I’ve ever had! The two of us ate only one half of it and we were full! Good onion rings. Great corn (Lug Nuts). Very large portions. We have leftovers for more than one more meal. We will definitely return.
Wasn’t expecting how unique this place was, randomly picked it for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and was blown away. The food was delicious, the decor made me feel like I was at the drag strip again and the service was super friendly. The menu has a lot but don’t let that scare you because the food is delicious. The Drinks are fairly priced and juke box was fun. Bathroom are super clean and plenty of parking. Tip: THE RESTAURANT IS THE BUILDING ON THE LEFT WHEN YOU ENTER LOL, THE RIGHT ONE IS THE RENTAL BUILDING. Will continue to come here because how different this place is and how at home at feel because of the car theme. Birria tacos rival the ones I had back home in NYC and the Pozole was on Point.
Really had a great experience and was pleasantly surprised by seeing vegan beef and cheese on the menu to select with their menu items. I enjoyed the flavor and great presentation of their food dishes. Reasonably priced dishes and friendly servers. I really appreciate that you can pay your bill with your phone camera by scanning their receipt. July 2,3023, went back with friends and was pleasantly surprised by their new menu. More vegan options available and so delicious and nicely presented. The Vegan sandwich was so appetizing along with the charro beans and very tasty dip. My wife ordered the vegan nachos which were loaded with food and flavor. Thank you Ernesto for another great meal!
We stopped in on a rainy day, so it wasn't packed, but this place looks like it could be fun. The food was delicious. There is plenty of room between tables. The tables and chairs are cool but not made to hang out all night. They hurt after a while. Overall, though, I really enjoyed my visit.
Tried this place for the 1st time tonight. Was expecting more of a Mexican resturant when we got there, but found it to be something a little different, not really sure how to describe the place. Food was unique but satisfying, best onion rings that we have had in a while. I had the stacked enchiladas aka Radiator Lasagna - Delicious. When you order a bowl of quest or soup be prepared - the thing was huge. I wanna know where I can get some of them bowls. Nice place, definitely will be back, gotta try some other things listed on the menu.
I came to Torgue Grill & Cantina for a Realtor Boot Camp party Speed Networking Event/Party. It was very well planned with fun games, prizes and drinks and appetizers. It was a great place to network with contractors and vendor partners in the local area. After it was over my clan and I hung out for a while and started looking around at the very unique decor. It seemed to us like whoever designed this restaurant put a whole lot of thought into it. I felt like this is where I would have my next function for sure. Everyone was nice from the moment I walked in the front door and went on into the rear building where it looked like there was an inside & outside party area with room for two parties that could be going on at the same time. The Beef Enchilada Lasagna provided was not hot by the time we got there but still tasted great. I will recommend this great place for sure and will return soon.
Just enjoyed a terrific lunch at the Torque! We decided to stop in and try it and we're so glad we did. Enjoyed the Radiator Beef Enchilada Lasagna plate and a Turbocharged Carnitas Burrito plate. Both were fresh and delicious. Love their rice and they include fresh salsa and chips with the meal. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us and were very friendly. The restaurant was clean and loved the decor. We look forward to returning.
Torque Grill & Cantina has only been open for about a week so we decided to try it out. We started with margaritas. The hand made rocks version had a uniquely sweet taste from the agave. For an appetizer we had the shrimp cocktail which was more of a sriracha. Finally our entrées came out. We tried their quesadillas, tacos and lasagna enchiladas, and we were not disappointed. The 3 of us all decided the food was not run of the mill Tex-Mex, but instead a flavorful twists on the usual. We will definitely be returning. In conclusion, our experience wasn't perfect. Service was slow and the plastic utensils were flimsy. Issues we believe will resolve in time. Finally as we were in the parking lot leaving, we met the owner and spoke with him for about 10 minutes. He spoke to us with passion about the food and drinks, as well as old cars & trucks. We hope Troque will do well over time. They are a wonderful addition to Burleson's vast array of restaurants. We look forward to returning for the food, drink, car shows and live music.
We were there for an early dinner. The large space had a graduation party / private event. We ate in the smaller building. The wait staff was busy, but did a great job taking care of us. So amazing to find a bar and grill type restaurant in Burleson Texas with menu items named after cars and car parts ( lug nuts are fried mushrooms FYI) with so many vegetarian and vegan substitutions and options. I absolutely love the chimichanga with beyond meat.
Misty was my server she was new to waiting but very attentive. Manager I think her name is Angela was very nice and was on top of her staff. Very accommodating. This place is a hidden gem. Loved the theam.. all the food looked great. I am difficult and ordered something that was not on the menu and they completely nailed it. I own a buisness and would definitely hire management like the one I saw. I hope they see the asset the owners have in place.. great place all around
Pretty good food ,another good Taco Tue. Place to go . Setup with screens like a sports bar ,and looks like an outside stage for music. ,have never been on a weekend to check out thoroughly. All the staff are nice and treat well .
We enjoyed the food. Was our first time to eat there. Yes it is a bar and grill. The music was quite loud. The waitress, Mary, we could barely hear her. When we told her she barely spoke up. Your food was good. We will try you again. Please help your waitresses speak up when speaking to the customer. With the masks it is hard to understand them, oh she had no mask but we could barely hear her.
Little confusing if never been there before. This was my first time so we walked in and not a sole insight. Remembered the sign out front said see ya in big building so walked across the room to a door open and leading outside see another door and folks thru the window. Nice spread out tables and clean. More a sports bar lots of tvs and seems games outside didn't really look. Food was awesome salsa good if u want hotter ask. Chips are thick and harder than regular chips. Waitress was attentive.
Had supper there two separate occasions and food was excellent both times. They also have a full bar but as I don't drink you'll have to look elsewhere for a review for it
After multiple trips, consistently a 4 start experience. The food is very tasty (with many gluten-free options that are delicious instead of cardboard), the service is considerate, the bill is a little high but reasonable. Not blown away by any particular aspect, but they are on a short list of places we go to frequently with friends because we know it will always be a good meal.
The food was amazing!! Wonderful wonderful food!! The music was WAY to loud we were having a great time until the music started and then we couldn’t hear the person right next to us! It made us just want to eat and leave! The chairs and seats are really uncomfortable need a lil padding!
They have a really awesome 2 building set up that allows for them to have private party events and still serve the general public. We went on a Friday night when they had live entertainment from a local musician which was really cool. All of the staff members were extremely kind. They also have a cool online ordering system that allows you to order your food and pay from your phone. The food was great! Disc Brake Birria Pizza was delicious!
The food was delicious! Salsa was probably one of the best restaurant salsa’s I’ve had! Definitely would come back to try more. I only remove a star because the staff seemed a little confused and we had different servers asking the same questions as one who just took our order(what drinks we wanted, what margaritas we ordered, ready to order..etc) overall they were very friendly!
Service 5 stars Chips and Salsa 5 stars Chimichanga 4.5 stars Shrimp Cocktail 2 stars Presentation 3 stars Venue 4.5 stars We visited just after the lunch rush ended. Pretty loud in the main room, but when you soak up the location it feels right. Every table could use a fly swatter, but they stuck to the roll up doors for the most part. Man chips and chunky salsa 😋 are just the way I like them. Would come just for that. The 3 Shrimp Cocktail was a let down. High cost for three medium sized Shrimp. The Cocktail part was sweet which I didn't personally care for, but my wife really liked. The Chimi is served slightly smaller for lunch which is fine. The flavor was great. A little simple for such a cool place, but it was still good. It goes without saying the obligatory rice and refried beans failed to impress. Again, a place named and branded as cool as Torque could find some way to elevate these basic sides. This really could be the place, so close... We'll be back to try more dishes and hopefully they can improve the Torque.
We had high hopes. Margaritas and music is good. Food is not. Service is disorganized. Went twice. Both times the service revealed a desperate need for house management and training. Comparable to Dalton's Corner. Too bad.
Food is pretty good. I completely love the Habanero sauce, each time I order takeout I ask for Habanero sauce for each meal. These past two times I’ve only had ONE!! Is the sauce hard to make? Hard to find? Do you need to charge for it? Either way I’d like the sauce what I ask for. My Kids have picked up both times and are assured it’s all the sauce we asked for. Kids don’t check. Trust but Verify I tell them.
Let me start by saying Kacie did a great job taking care of us tonight. The manager was supposed to be waiting on the tables outside but I saw him help only one table the whole time we were there and he only helped them because they got upset with him. Poor leadership will drive away your good employees, and customers. It was our first time there tonight but I expected more from what I’d been told about the place. Kacie and the food are the only things bringing me back at this point.
I don't like this place but I APPRECIATE this place and will continue to go back to see the progress they are making. The setup is unique so the potential is there. They still haven't worked out their kinks but it's been a little better each time. The service is not organized and the food is just ok. The drinks however are on point and the drink prices are good. They are trying and I like that they are unique in working towards a more elevated California style Mexican food option to the area. It won't be for everyone, especially those who want a more Tex Mex or even authentic Mexican food experience. It's a niche and I hope they can work out their internal efficiencies to capture and retain the market they are tying to target. They have my attention. As always, I have to say that my 3 star review reflects average and average is ok. Not every place needs to be 4-5 stars.
Great atmosphere! Definitely can tell its a new place as the employees didn’t seem to know what to do. We had to flag down a waitress/waiter as they were all in the kitchen hanging out. The food also was bland. Hoping to try again later as they get more established and have some management training.
This place has potential to be great. The burrito I ordered was excellent. The side of beans tasted like they came straight out of a can. When we walked in at 5pm on a Saturday, there was nobody there. We thought the place was closed. After a few minutes we wandered to the adjacent building and found someone to seat us. Overall, the service was ok.
The food was average. We had a reservation for a party and were placed in the enclosed patio which has garage style opening doors. They were open and there were flys everywhere inside when our appetizers were delivered, that was annoying!!! We asked them to close the doors, they did, and that helped a lot. Our server was good. The other servers were non engaging and mostly on their cell phones as we walked by to the restrooms, couldn't bother to look up and say hi or smile at a customer. One and done for us.
The food is good. Now the bad... Unfortunately your menu is terrible at explaining what exactly you are ordering, menu creative names are awesome but we need to know a little more. Your parking lot and building needs lights asap. Next time your printers are down you definitely shouldn't tell customers that you have to leave 20% tip or tip in cash! Very unprofessional. Good luck
I feel like the people leaving reviews for this place either worker here or have family that does. I'm reading stuff like, the food was amazing and I fell in love with this place. I mean the food was standard and you have to pay crazy amounts for add-ons. Shoot, FastTaco is arguably better. Also, who wants to play 8 dollars for a draft beer. Everyone should go there and experience it because it really is a cool atmosphere, but be prepared for the cost.
This place is nice and clean. The bartender was really pleasant, but our food was made by Salt Bae. Every dish was overly seasoned. We tried 4 dishes because we are fat and like to have a spread. Every single dish had us chugging our drinks like college freshmen. The atmosphere was great and we had high expectations walking in but we were highly disappointed walking out. Also, you are charged extra for every little sauce. With the price of an entree already $20, they just have to get another dollar out of you.
Ordered from door dash … Part of me thinks it would have been better if it wasn’t driven all the way off 1187 in Crowley near Chisholm trail…..BUT… When I order something I expect to get what I ordered. I was missing 2 sides and 2 sauces and the tacos I got weren’t made how I asked. Don’t get me wrong, it seemed like it would have been good if I was there and the drive they took could have a part. But if I’m paying extra for the things I added on and didn’t get, then something tells me it’s not run very well. Which is kinda unsuspecting seeing as the guy who owns it also owns ec cars and he’s always gone above and beyond with the cars he has sold to me… Just kinda expected to get what I paid for at his restaurant.
I've only been once. The atmosphere looks amazing. It looks like a good place to have a good time with friends. I went for lunch and got a baked potato with steak Kickstarter. I got full from just that. It wasn't very crowded around lunch time. So if you're looking for a crowd dinner time might be the time to go. A friend of mine went and said their street tacos are really good, next time I'll get that.
Was a little pricey, but the food was good and I could’ve overcome being a bit more but the fact is if you have six in your party or more, they automatically charge you gratuity. Typically if I get good service, I’m happy to tip generously and I would have even though the service was OK. They also charged three dollars for tea. I’ll get over that but then they charge for bacon and onions which was supposed to be included. I did not order it extra, so I felt very deceived because I had ordered my meal as it was on the menu. I stated that I didn’t want anything extra! So to come here with just a couple friends is not worth it. I can go other places and get a little better service. And not get hit with little hidden charges or hit with a huge gratuity, just we’re having a few friends. I had just high hopes! And again, if it’s just you and maybe one friend then great! Sadly, they don’t want people that have six in their party to come. When there are so many other family owned restaurants in the area that don’t charge each person for having 6 people in your party and charge hidden fees . It’s not like our waitress was very attentive. Feeling disappointed .
I thought I would get a friendly hello when I walked into Torque Grill and Cantina at 4:55 pm today. Nothing! Waited! Nothing! Finally, a girl rode upon a broom. I should say, show up carrying a broom. But with the attitude she had, she should have been riding it! She said I needed to go out the backdoor. She pointed out the back door. I followed her pointed finger. I ended up outside, but there was a sidewalk to follow to the next building. Once inside the next building, I waited and waited. The building was empty, but someone showed up and pointed to a table after a while. There was no menu available. Waited. When the waiter did show up, he said to look on my phone. Looking over the phone menu and deciding what to eat took a few minutes, everything looked good. I decided I ordered the Impossible burger with cheese and a side of fries. While I waited for my food, they served me chips and hot sauce. They were good. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive at my table. There was no cheese, one small slice of tomato, three small pieces of pickles, no mayo, and a burn bun. See pictures! The fries were good! Recommendation: Save your money and go to Burger King,
This is a new restaurant with new employees that are in training. Service was bit slow but very friendly. Took about 20 min alone to get our ticket errors corrected and finally paid. Food is fine with no real complaints. They do need a signature dish or appetizer that is out-of-this-world delicious, and is the draw of customers. I might be back after they have overcome the learning curve.
My friends hamburger was nothing special. My other friends Chimichanga was dripping a lot of grease. My spicy chicken sandwich was good tasting but lacked chicken for sure. We all felt we definitely over paid for what we got. We were excited for it to open and have decided not to come back.
Expensive for the quality. I had the Biohazard chicken tacos and ordered a deep eddy's grapefruit and pineapple. The chicken was overcooked. I wish there was a something fresh on the taco, like a slaw or salad but it was just meat and cheese. The ranch was not home made, which I prefer when I go out and eat at a restaurant. I can eat the bottled stuff at home. The rice and beans were deliciousI never got my drink. After thirty minutes it came out undressed, no straw to stir or garnish, and it was the wrong vodka. I sent it back. Our server was nice but she was very busy and we waited 20 minutes to get our credit cards back.
We were excited to finally try this place after driving by it so many times. Unfortunately the food we received was bland and extremely overpriced. I’ve read the owners response to a couple of the reviews stating “our food is made from scratch so we have to charge a lot”. If that’s the case then the foods taste should match what you are charging and I assure you ours did not. Also one of the shadiest things I’ve witnessed a restaurant do is all of the pictures of their “2 specialty tacos” have 3 tacos in the picture. I asked the server about this and all she said was “well I guess they wanted the pictures to have 3”. Those pictures are very misleading and after seeing how much they charge for their food I assume they did this to trick people into ordering their overpriced tacos. Also we were the only people in the restaurant and it took forever to get our refills. Probably because they have a 3 refill limit and they don’t want to waste their precious sodas.
Excited to go try food. After an hour waiting for a waitress . I went to bar to order drinks. Waitress took my appetizers, drink and meal order at bar. An hour latter we were served cold appetizers and barrel tacos. Yuck never got habenaro sauce to try. 100 dollars gone. Wasted night. Our drinks spilled because tables are rickety 55 gallon drums.
I went in on a Sunday for a beer and apps... the beers were great, but the apps not so much. I ordered fried pickles and onion rings and they came out looking like dehydrated banana chips. If you look at my pics, that is how they came. We didn't even touch them yet. I'm nit expecting it to look fancy but at least make it look like it wasn't taken off someone else's table. We got 4 whole onion rings and couldn't eat them.
Been so excited to try this place so we ordered food via DoorDash. First problem was that we didn’t get any of our condiments such as salsa and sour cream and limes. Tortilla soup resembled salsa from Taco Bell with not a single piece of chicken or anything in it and they didn’t send the tortilla strips either so it was basically inedible. The steak in the quesadillas was over cooked and tasted burnt. The meat in the street tacos was awful and also tasted burnt. On top of no condiments we also did not get the rice and beans with any of our meals. The sopapillas looked more like a chip and were as chewy as beef jerky. Called the restaurant and was told to call DoorDash and there was no apology from the manager. I was offered to come get the forgotten items which made absolutely no sense since we ordered DoorDash so why would I drive there to pick them up. Overall a very unpleasant experience. Had to give at least one star in order to leave the review.
Food was good and staff was friendly however double check your reciepts! Gratuity was already added in as a line item however bottom of receipt still shows a spot to add in a tip. “Large party”? Was two families( 5 adults and 3 kids in total) that met to eat.. on separate checks. Hustled us for over $90 worth of tip. Lesson learned... go thru your receipt. Deceitful.
It was over 30 bucks. My steak was supposed to be a surf and turf, steak & shrimp with a side. It was more like a steak with shrimp garnish, no bread, and I was charged for the house salad plus the service was grumpy. I was ALSO COMPELLED TO LEAVE A TIP. I won't be back. 😡
Slowest, most unorganized restaurant we've ever been to. Had two tables seated by us leave after they waited 15 to 20 minutes for water, chips and salsa. Table across from us got the wrong drink order brought to them 3 times, and we waited almost an hour for French fries and a shrimp cocktail after they brought out a chimichanga and rice and beans. The server was super nice, tried his best, and we felt bad that he had to apologize at least 5 times to every table he waited on.
My first impression of this place was AMAZING!!!! Sadly 😥 my second visit last Monday was not what I remembered 😪 . This was my favorite local taco and drink stop. I walked in with my wife and 2 kiddos to some extremely inappropriate music blaring.. secondly it looked like a worker and a friend were laughing trying to get the music to turn off and finally did.. We got our drinks which were not nearly as delicious as our first trip.. We never knew who our waiter/waitress was and after waiting 25 minutes we asked for our waiter so we can order food. I observed the young lady walk towards our waiter and the person made a hand gesture like oh they will be fine. That was my last straw so I went ahead and just asked for the ticket to leave. I am not sure what to think of the place anymore.
Went there for lunch today at 12. Waitress took our order and about 15-20 min later came back and said it would be a bit because they were making our birria tacos fresh??? I said OK and waited . Finally our food came. That was the worst tacos I've had ever. It looked like they dipped the tacos in sweet and spicy sauce. Don't waste your money.
Just walked out unhappy AGAIN. I wanted to give you another try after I left a bad review previously. 645 pm on a Sunday. Only 3 tables and 2 bar customers. I was happy to get my beer, but 20 minutes later, I still had not had my food order taken . The waitress kept telling me I'll be right back..3 times she said. I believed her.I could have ordered my food on the app, but why when I'm sitting in YOUR restaurant. The wait made me mad, but seeing the other waitress talk to a customer for the entire 20 minutes was ridiculous. No communication between the two servers as to "please help my side. " Your restaurant still Consistently disappoints.
Would not recommend this place to anyone. A good family outing turned sour . I witnessed the shift lead was being disrespected by one of her fellow employees. After asking him to do her a favor he could have politely refused instead he went on to use foul language and yell at her. He then told her she was not a manager, which of course the manager was long gone. This is a serverely understaffed restaurant. If you’re going to put people in charge miss Lynn I suggest the rest of your staff should be aware. The owners wife of the restaurant as named above (miss Lynn) proceeded to call 2 Hispanic women “thugs”. Those women were the shift leads mom and sister who went to where she was when they heard an argument in the back to make sure she was okay. Just like any sane person would do, shame on you and this establishment no wonder it’s always empty .
New waitress, learning the computer ordering so some grace there. Hubby's burger was all wrong, overcooked, not even close to what ordered, missing all the things that were supposed to make it special. Couldn't even get the cheese right. Waited over 30 minutes with only 6 people in the place. Never again.*** This is in response to the manager comments. We ordered the Stack Attack 2 ground beef patties, cheese, bacon, grilled onions, cheese fries, egg, Torque Sauce. We ordered it medium well with pepper jack cheese. We got a double cheeseburger, American cheese and bacon and NOTHING else on the burger. We also requested no onions because my husband is highly allergic and there were large onion flakes in the meat. So our order was not even close. Only 6 adults in the resteraunt at the time and we were two of them. Never said the Waitress was rude either. Read the review correctly before you post a knee jerk response. We also left and $8 tip on a $12 tab. Honest reviews are what is requested. This a was honest.
Very cool place, just don't go when it isn't busy. If you are looking for a cool place to grab a drink, Torque is your spot. If you're looking for a place with good food and fast service at odd times, seek elsewhere. The first time we went, the food was over salted. We decided to try it a second time last week, and got the same results. Food just needs less salt and less funny items. I got the Jet Ski's(fish tacos) and they come with a weird type of cole slaw(overly sweet) and just doesn't pair with the fish well. My wife just got a salad, but the ranch is almost flavorless. They didn't refill my drink once. They were promoting the whole time i was there, maybe FB live, or Tiktok? Very friendly staff, just not a place i would take the family for lunch again.
Only reason I'm giving a 1 because a 0 isn't possible. I ordered online because the food looks incredible. I pull up and no one is there and they are closed. If you're closed, then close your online ordering to unavailable. I better get my money back!
Maybe I had a bad experience. Took incredibly long to get a beer. Fajitas came out with NO tortillas. Got charged $2 extra for those. Fajitas weren’t very good. Had to ask for silverware. Had to ask for plates for appetizers. And got a tip added automatically for a large group. There were 6 of us. Won’t be going back and cannot recommend.
Called ahead of time about the breakfast buffet when we got there 20 minutes later they were like oh we don’t do that? Why they didn’t tell us over the phone is a little silly. Got our food & was never waited on again. When i said Something about it the waitress said oh sorry I’m the only one of the floor but the owner & a waitress was sitting two tables from us chatting & the hostess was sitting at the door staring at us. All i wanted was more water.
I don’t have much of a complaint about the food it’s self, but pricing of certain things are outrageous. You get chips and salsa with your meal when you eat in. But HEADS-UP if you order chips and salsa with side of queso to go it’s crazy expensive for the mini size you get compared to any other restaurant I have done this with. $17.85 for a small half bag of chips, small bowl of queso, side of salsa and two jalapeño sauce. Disappointed in a place I usually recommend. (I re-edited to 1 star due to the response. I am aware of the rising cost of food in general and I am also aware of how much tortillas, cheese, tomatoes and jalapeños cost. That was what prompted the original post.)
