Opinions de Rasoi Restaurant & Lounge Burlingame
Quite affordable and taste was pretty good as well. We were a party of 2 and we visited this place on a Wednesday night. We found seats pretty easily, wasn’t too crowded. Coming to the food, we ordered Machli Pakora for appetiser and Chicken tikka masala and Naan for the main course. The total bill came to 32 dollars, pretty cheap considering the amount of food and it being the Bay Area. The food tasted pretty good as well. The drinks seemed pretty affordable as well, albeit we didn’t order any. The service was prompt and courteous—we were promptly seated on arrival, and the food was served promptly as well. The servers were polite and took care of fulfilling all our requests. I’d visit again when I’m in the area and am scouting for a place to eat.
Food was nice and tasty. Place Was busy and got a table since we reserved before going. Server confirms that everything is halal, but would suggest to reconfirm if someone is opting for this option. Parking is challenging abd finally got a few blocks away. I think it's free afte 6pm or 7 pm. ( plz check). They also have an outside seating area with hindi music , great atmosphere.
Most of the Indian restaurants does not do a good job with Samosas- but they were a pleasant surprise. Must have. Food quality and ambiance are good as well.
First time in USA I felt hospitality. I felt cared. Food was truly yummy. We tried Samosa, Tea, Chicken Tikka masala and rice pudding. Will come again soon.
This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Burlingame! The food is delicious and the restaurant has a great vibe. Axel always takes care of us!
All tandoori dishes are supreme. Lamb chops are heavenly delicious. Mutton Rogan josh and tandoori roti is best dinner every. They have 20% discount if you find between 5-7pm. Quick turnaround time after giving orders. Difficult to find parking spot near restaurant. Had decent restroom. Well deserved 5 stars.
Sumana was an amazing server! I come from Yuba City ( a large sikh population) and this is the BEST Indian food I've ever had!
I should qualify that I'm not an expert on Northern Indian food by any means. But I definitely appreciate it. The menu at Rasoi is vast but we had some people in our group who don't appreciate chili, so we had to ask for mild everything. They have a full bar which is a great way to get started. We ordered an assortment of pakoras and contemplated the choices. There were no disappointments. Tandoor chicken can be routine but theirs was special. It was surprisingly delicious and I'd go back just for that. The bhindi masala was also great and I can't wait to order it again with some heat.
Wait staff was so kind and thoughtful. The food came out hot! And EVERYTHING tasted full of flavor. I was bummed I got so full so quickly!
Tikka Masala was the best I’ve had on the peninsula. As with most places in the Bay Area, remember that rice must be ordered separately.
Wonderful Tandoori Chicken Salad This was a hidden gem and an excellent discovery from Cravia App. The discount offers on that App sweetened the experience further.
Extremely happy with food quality, taste and high class service. The hand made masala tea at the was just awesome 👌
Freddie is the best!!!! He deserves a promotion! Loved his personality and service, even though he was not our server. Overall, went here during happy hours. Tandoori wings were very juicy, great French gimlet for a drink (not sweet). Definitely recommend both. Paneer tikka and chicken Saagwala was great too!
Ordered take-out tonight. My husband selected vegetable biryani Very Hot, chicken korma mild, and regular naan. He eats Indian food frequently and likes Rasoi, a lot. When I picked it up the restaurant was jammin’ with a convivial vibe. Tonight’s biryani was delicious with very good, complex flavors. I enjoyed the Korma. We found the naan pretty good for take-out. Recommend Rasoi!!
The service was soooo good and kind, the food was incredibly delicious. Lamb chops were perfectly cooked. Loved it
We ordered tandoori prawns and paneer tikka and daal saag. Everything was delicious. If you like goat cheese than the naan stuffed with goat cheese is also recommended.
Looking for delicious Indian food?! This is the place to go. I've been here several times and never disappointed. Their service is great. Food comes out hot and tasty. I've enjoyed many if their dishes; just note that their dishes are quality over quantity.
If there was a 6th star, I would give it to them. This restaurant earns an amazing review based of the experience alone. The ambience was powerful and made the feeling of fine dining more profound. It wasn’t a regular, run-of-the-mill Indian Restaurant. It was classy and excelled at customer service. The food itself was also delicious. It was a Northern Indian cuisine, but tweaked somewhat with a Western touch. I thought it was astounding! At one point, the owner even came out to greet us. He was very kind and treated us as if we were comrades from so long ago. He even offered us a Kulfi desert on the house, which I may add, was tasty indeed. In recap, I would recommend this restaurant any day.
One of the best Indian restaurant in the Bay Area at this price. The foods were quick yet they were served hot with fine presentation. And the staffs were very friendly and nice to us. Overall a good place to hangout and chill with friends and family. Highly recommended!!
Excellent food and very quick and attentive service! Delicious tandoori mushrooms. Highly recommend.
Amazing food and excellent service! The dishes were flavorful, and the staff was attentive and friendly. Highly recommend this place!
Love their food, but a small suggestion is that I would love to be given my entire food before giving me the bill. As we forgot the take away food which cost us 18$ it’s both your and mine mistake. But the experience was great, lassi was awesome and the ambience was just prefect for dinner. Also adding that the waiters were very humble and fast.
Hands down the best Indian food in the Bay Area. They nail the extra spicy request every time. Service is quick and portions are big. Definite must are the paneer makhani, tandoori mushrooms, tandoori paneer and paneer chili paired with rice, butter naan and a mango lassi.
Best Indian food in the Bay Area. Never have been disappointed over the last 2 years of eating at this location and the other location on Valencia St. in San Francisco. Would have to recommend the Prawn Madras, Goat Cheese Naan, and any of the Lamb dishes. Amazing service, a great wine list and a fabulous atmosphere.
Excellent Indian food, great service. Their clay oven is put to good use here. The Tandoori chicken comes out sizzling hot. The curries are all flavorful, intense and tasty. Has a full bar serving good cocktails, wine and beer. Reasonably priced comparatively speaking. Highly recommended. They take all major credit cards - AmEx, Master and Visa.
We've eaten here 4 or 5 times now, and it's exceptional. Particularly love the bhindi masala, it has this unique and wonderful roasted flavor that is traditional but still different. We take friends here often that stay with us in town because it's also a beautiful restaurant to be in. Highly recommend.
Fast and delicious Indian food every time! The butter chicken is always just right. I get it with a side of rice and some naan. This is comfort food at its best!!
Hospitality is amazing here, vibrant atmosphere, food is top tier chef Asif really puts in effort and thought in his dishes, they all taste different and not the same like other places. This is the perfect weekend off place. Hookah, outdoor seating and whole lotta spice. Highly recommended.
We brought 16 people in for a last-minute work dinner, no reservation (I had low expectations only because it's hard to accommodate a group that size!). They were AMAZING -- not only was the food delicious but they gave us great service, super friendly and efficient and funny staff. Our group had a great time. Highly recommend!!
Fantastic Meal! We had the bharta and paneer korma with onion kulcha, and everything was delicious! The bharta had a perfect smoky flavor, the paneer korma was rich and creamy, and the kulcha was the ideal complement. We ended with kheer, which was smooth and perfectly sweet. Great flavors and warm service—highly recommend!
Really loved the food. We ordered assorted naan, it was enough for 3 people. We also ordered paneer tikka kurma, chicken tikka masala, samosas and tandoori chicken. Everything was awesome.
Had a wonderful time at Rasoi Burlingame! The food was delicious and the service was amazing. All staffs were so kind, attentive, and made the whole experience extra special. Highly recommend!
Rasoi Restaurant, located at 1425 Burlingame Ave., made our evening truly unforgettable. We felt at ease from the moment we arrived thanks to the attentive staff and warm, inviting atmosphere. If you want to gauge a restaurant's commitment to cleanliness, just check out the restroom-here, it was spotless. For our meal, we ordered chicken tandoori, saag paneer, chicken biryani, naan, and chai. Every dish was expertly prepared and bursting with rich, mouthwatering flavors. The reasonable prices further impressed us and motivated me to share my experience of enjoying authentic Indian cuisine. Give it a try, and I guarantee you'll understand my enthusiasm!
The food presentation was amazing, the taste was perfect, and the hospitality was very welcoming. Would recommend!
I was visiting from houston and dining in Rasoi was definitely one of the best indo pak fine dining I've had. Food, service and ambience is amazing. Biryani and chicken jalfrezi was delicious. Chai was also karak and amazing. Special thanks to Axel, Min, and Sarjeena for giving awesome service both times I dined here.
I’m a huge foodie, and this is my all time favorite restaurant. My death row meal. Chicken tikka masala, naan, samosas. It’s all you need in life. Can’t recommend strongly enough. Best Indian food in California and one of the best vibes on the Ave.
My husband is from England and very picky about Indian food. He loves this place, and we continue to return about once a week. Been coming here for years. Not only is the food consistently great, but the service is very friendly too.
This is the best Pakistani food in the Peninsula… I highly recommend it. Please come try the tandoori dishes… the prawns, fish, chicken, mushroom… I can go on and on. You need to try it and see for yourself!
Great place for Indian Food! Service was really good and the chef actually checked on us. Would highly recommend.
My kids love this place we go every Saturday it’s one hour away but it’s worth a drive! The food is amazing tandoori’s hits different butter chicken is amazing we tried everything n all of the dishes are amazing! Drinks are great chai is wonderful makes end of the day relaxing! Best place to arrange any type of party most welcoming n respectful place!! 💯 on point!
Awesome food, awesome experience, decent price as well. I really like Indian food but I really dislike when it disappoints, and this place doesn't disappoint. One of the only places in the Bay Area I’ve gone to that really slaps with their tandoori. Also pretty generous with the bread servings. Wasn’t sure what spice level I wanted to go for, so our server Adish helped us out by getting an order with less spice and then a side order of the same curry sauce but spicier. Didn’t know you could do that, but Adish was super helpful with whatever we needed, really generous as well. Cool guy, cool place. I’m definitely going back for more.
Had Happy Hour on Friday. Plenty of seats. The tandoori wings ($11) were served on a sizzling plate over red onions. The samosas ($6) were yummy.
The best Pakistani / Indian restaurant in the Bay Area. Food tastes great, staff is friendly and most importantly this place is clean. Highly recommend taking friends and family here.
Amazing flavor ! Amazing texture! The chicken tikka had every flavor perfectly accenting one another. The Goat cheese Naan was melting in your mouth with each second of pleasure as you were tasting it. The vibe was nice too. It had a luxury feeling to it without the crazy pricing. Servers checked on us regularly. This place is a 15 out of 10 in my books.
Rasoi is a large Indian joint in Burlingame with great staff, a lovely vibe, and a great bar. I got the paneer makhani which was absolutely delicious. The gravy was creamy and slightly sweet and the paneer was cooked to perfection. The chicken tikka masala was equally as tasty but with more of a spice kick! All of the breads were fluffy and flavorful. The onion kulcha had real somewhat caramelized onions on it. The traditional roti was lathered with butter and crispy. The garlic and basil naan tasted fresh and strong as well. I also got the Kabuli naan which I wasn’t able to take a picture of. It was filled with fruits and nuts and it came out warm and slathered with butter. It was incredibly unique and tasted great and to my surprised it paired well with the curries too! OVERALL, if you want to eat at a delicious Indian restaraunt with a great vibe, lots of seating, amazing staff, and most importantly delicious food, make sure to come to Rasoi!
This place is hands down the best Indian food I’ve had. I tried the Prawn Korma, goat cheese bell pepper stuffed Naan and the Calamari Pakora. So fresh and good and huge portions! Sumana was our waitress and although we were checked on by multiple workers she was so attentive and sweet! Hope to get back and try some more soon!
Food is good Reasonably priced. If you go for dinner at closing they will open the door numerous times indicating to get out Drinks and food and family friendly.
I have had the pleasure of dining at Rasoi and I can confidently say it is a culinary delight that you absolutely cannot miss! The mushrooms are always a highlight, bursting with spices that make your taste buds dance. One of our favorites is the Grilled Paneer, which is grilled to perfection and full of rich, savory goodness. The star of the show, however, has to be the Spicy Shahi Paneer. It’s a flavor explosion that never fails to impress. But let’s not forget the Pakoras, which are simply beyond this world! They are crispy, tasty, and absolutely addictive. We also had the pleasure of hiring Asif for a private event a few months back, and I’m still dreaming about his delicious Paneer Tikka Sliders! They were a true standout, and I genuinely believe they should be a permanent fixture on the menu. Whether you’re looking for a cozy dinner or planning a special event, this restaurant is the perfect choice. I can't recommend it enough—every dish we've tried has been a masterpiece. Don't miss out on this culinary experience!
The food was delicious. We went on a Saturday @6:30. It was very busy, service was great! Everyone was super friendly, especially Freddy Eduardo. Such a nice man. We had a little of everything on the menu. Ordered Samosas & Papadum for appetizers...not pictured below. First time @ Rasoi. Can't wait to go again. Everything was very good 👍 Highly recommend this place!!
Ordered Naan, garlic naan, chicken biryani, chicken korma, and raita. The food was delicious! This was a good amount of food for 2 people, and we took home the leftovers. It was birthday so the wait staff surprisingly sang happy birthday to me. They also provided a candle with kulfi and kheer for dessert. This was pleasant dinner experience. I would come eat here again and I recommend this restaurant!
Rasoi is always delicious! I have been eating here for 3-4 years and their food is consistently good. Tandoori chicken (and tandoori mixed grill) is so flavorful and beautifully presented on a sizzling platter. The lamb seekh kebab is soft and spicy. The tandoori prawns are succulent. Saag/Spinach dishes are delicious with paneer or chicken or lamb. The garlic & basil naan is soft and crunchy and just perfect. The chicken pakoras pack a perfect bite. The samosa tastes fresh. The mint chutney is so refreshing. The service is wonderful, multiple servers checking up on you with smiles and kindness. Basically, I have never had a bad dish or bad time here. Every time I’m in town, I convince my guests to come and eat with me here.
Classy and Authentic Indian restaurant in Burlingame. All the dishes we tried were incredible especially garlic naan, prawn Madras & Rogan josh. They have a large variety of appetizers, veg, chicken, lamb, seafood & beverages options to choose. The staff were great & provided good service. The atmosphere is clean & nicely decor.
We had a fabulous meal here for our daughter's birthday. Best Indian cuisine we've had in years. The service was excellent; they were very attentive. We're new to the area and I believe this will be a regular spot for us!

Had dinner here tonight and the food was a solid 4/5, but the service was extremely friendly and hospitable. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, Puja was extremely helpful, had a great attitude, and served us well. Would recommend.
Our waitress Puja had excellent service, she was very sweet and gave us suggestions for food and checked in multiple times It made our whole experience so much better! Food was good too
Best food in Burlingame and the best Indian food I’ve had in my life. Our server (Puja) was great and super helpful. Thank you Puja!

The owner, has been on call for Larry Ellison when he's in the mood for Indian food. Food cannot be beat. Friendly service and good bar area if you're in the mood for a game on TV. Cocktail menu is a bit different than you would find in a similar restaurant of this caliber. Good but not modern or served with top shelf products.
Was skeptical about this Indian restaurant. It was quite modern inside and thought it wasn't very authentic. We read the reviews and thought we'd give it a try. Ended up to be pretty good. I don't know what full authentic taste like, but the food was quite flavorable and tasty. I would go back.
Great restaurant for Indian food. It is great place for trying Indian food for first time. Really really nice menu with amazing sizzlers. Staff is very friendly and try to accommodate your request while preparing food. Another advantages for this place is its location and availability of parking in neighborhood.
Overall it was a fine restaurant. Our whole table wanted spicy food and we were given zero spice. It was quite weird. The time we went (6 of us), they were out of all their apps except samosas. So we ordered those and they were very tasty, loved the dips they served with them as well. The food tasted good, just lacking spice. I thought the servings were on the smaller side as well. The interior has so much potential! The cool blue lights are great, but it leaves something to be desired. The table placement perhaps isn't ideal, I can't put my finger on it. It just doesn't feel special or particularly nice.
Great atmosphere and the employees were very friendly. It was my first time trying authentic Indian/Pakistan food and it was delicious. I ordered the chicken Tikka with a side of rice and naan. For the appetizer we ordered the salad and chicken wings. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and the next time I'm in the area, I will place an order.
Tasty food, nice seating area. The chicken Tikka masala was very buttery and delicious, almost like butter chicken. Tandoori was flavorful but average. I ordered spicy option (4 out of 5) and it was overpowering heat and I enjoyed the food. They have sizzling dishes that I wish I tried but maybe next time.
Rasoi seems to use good quality meat/poultry and oil in their food production. As a sensitive eater, I find that Rasoi’s quality is better than many other North Indian restaurants in the bay. I’ve only eaten inside Rasoi twice, but I frequently get their delivery. I usually get chicken curry, paneer saag, aloo sag, lamb Rogan Josh. Are there better tasting Indian restaurants in the area, yes. But of all the others that may taste better, I don’t think any one of them have the quality of food/oils/spices that Rasoi does.
Good food and ambience - but surprised that it wasn’t the absolute best considering how centrally this is placed in downtown.
What I would recommend: Lamb Seekh Kabob and Chicken Tikka Masala What was Okay: mango chutney and Naan What I don’t recommend: paratha The lamb seekh kabob while strong in smell had a great meat quality and perfect level of spice! It’s hot and sizzling and great with Naan. I thought the mango chutney would compliment well with it but the chutney was not authentic enough, it was more like jam. The chicken tikka masala was great, creamy and nice quality of meat as expected and a moderate level of spice. I wouldn’t recommend the paratha. It has no flavor, too much grease and not flaky enough.
Overall I rate it a 4 star. The chicken tikka masala is their best dish, and the breads are great too. I ordered a biryani but didn't like it. They were kind enough too cancel it. The staff and service is really good. I think they should work on expanding their food menu, especially appetizers. Recommended with a 4 star👍👍👍👍
Me and a couple friends popped into Rasoi for dinner around 5:30pm. It was quite empty with only one family seated in this large restaurant. I wasn't sure if it was a red flag at first but I later learned that we were just early as more people trickled in for dinner time to the point where the restaurant was mostly full when we left. Anyway, I was immediately acknowledged and seated which I appreciated. We then placed our orders and food came out pretty quickly! We ordered: lamb biriyani, garlic naan, saag paneer, and chicken tikki masala. All of the plates were delicious! However, I do feel like the chicken tikki masala seemed a bit watery and had such small pieces of chicken in there. But, everything else seemed great! We all enjoyed our meal & appreciated the service to the point where my friends and I were chatting about how attentive they were. I'd love to come back here and try other dishes as they had quite a large menu of things I have yet to try. Garlic naan bread was fire! Loved dipping it in the tikki masala sauce and saag paneer.
Yeaaahhh Puja woohoo, the radio could’ve had a better message but it was still beast. Thanks Puja, will try the ds2 (dal saag) next time. Call it a rematch. I was the guy in glasses.
Indian cuisine is generally not my first choice. Firstly, I don't particularly enjoy it, and secondly, I don't know what to order. So, choosing to go to this restaurant was a step outside my comfort zone. The beer has a light flavor, and the grilled chicken salad is pretty good. The fried items were pleasantly surprising. As for the main course, the shrimp stood out, surpassing the other chicken dish in both taste and texture. The bread with various flavors was delicious.
Serves North Indian cuisine. Food was good. The service could be better when they are full. Good selection of drinks. They also offer pickup and online orders. It is located in the famous Burlingame avenue. They sometime have outdoor seating as well. Vegetarian biriyani with hot was not that spicy, otherwise overall a nice restaurant.
I was craving good Indian food and someone had recommended this place. I ordered the butter chicken with garlic naan and rice. It was pretty good if I say so myself. My friend ordered the cheese tikka masala and it was alright. She enjoyed it but I didn't really like it. My other friend ordered the chicken tikka masala and enjoyed it. Would come back if I'm in the area for their butter chicken for sure.

I’ve been coming here for years but have been disappointed lately. My last trip was a couple weeks ago with a friend who came from AZ. I was bragging about Rasoi, especially for their lamb and Biriyani. We ordered the gobi pakora and chicken Biriyani. The pakora came out cold. I got the feeling it may have been sitting out for a while before our server got to picking it up to bring to us. The batter had no flavor. We sent it back and they promptly brought out a fresh batch which was better (because you have to eat pakora fresh), but the batter was still lacking flavor. The Biriyani had a nice flavor but I know they’ve made it better in the past. Something was off that day.
The experience was overall ok. I think their food and service quality has decreased recently. We ordered drinks with food and the drink came almost when we were about to finish out main course after asking multiple times. The murgh makhni was very watery and bland in taste. The naan were good, fresh and light.
Indian restaurant, far from my best ever. We tried several kinds of dishes. Everything was good, not delicious though. Not sure if naans are home made, could be softer. Too expensive in my view. Quality of ingredients: 4* Taste: 3* Service: 3* Ambiance: 3* Quality/price ratio: 3*

The food was excellent; 4.5 stars for that, but the service was terrible. We were seated by the kitchen door which was fine, but our sever didn’t even realize we were there. 20 minutes later I had to flag down a bus boy to order our food & drinks. He didn’t tell the waitress he had done that. So there was confusion. It was seriously amateur hour. Once the order was in, the food came promptly and it was pretty damned good. We got lamb Korma, chicken tikka masala, rice, plain nan, sag paneer, and two beers on tap for $68. Not overly expensive. It was good food, but service was so poor that we won’t be back. Other places around here are better all around. Maybe this is one of those places where DoorDash is better.
If you like your food to have one flavor.... salt... then this is the place! Salt. Salt. Salt. Service staff are nice, thus the 2 stars. Dish was dirty. Glasses had lipstick on them and just felt greasy. Oh... and everything tasted as if the only spice was ... salt.
Not only did the $20 sloppy Lamb vindaloo come without rice, samosas came cold with no sauce, and the garlic naan was somehow flavorless? then sent me no silverware... Pretty terrible delivery experience. order something else
Very bland food, not much spice, not authentic at all. The Madras tasted like Korma, coconutty and mild! It's supposed to be spicy! The garlic nan is quite nice, also mango lasso is delicious. But disappointing curries. Service was good.
I see some 5 star reviews for this place here but trust me, this place is nothing better than 3 star. Most of their paneer dishes taste more or less the same. Paneer cubes in a puree like gravy. I have tried different dishes from this place before giving this review. Nothing stands out as extraordinary. Service and ambiance is fine, but food is so basic that I would rather spend my money somewhere else.
Nice ambiance and food, Only reason giving two star because, seeing someone using vape inside the restaurant and roaming back and forth with vape . I think it should be informed to customers it allow smoke or vape, as we are pregnant and I have asthma. I saw some kids with family so I just feel either the person should have not allowed to vape or customers should be informed with some signs.
Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience here. Naan was undercooked, curries and biryani lacked flavor. How can you mess up Naan?! I’m sorry to say this was one of the worst restaurants we have been to in the Bay Area. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
We have had two consecutive visits with bad service. We were left unattended for 25 mins - no one came to take our order. We asked 3 times - each time they brought us 1) the menu, 2) plates, 3) and then water — these were the 3 visits in 25 mins. One person finally came to our table and was quite uncaring. I don’t understand why there is a general lack of care. Last time it was the same thing, but on top of that they messed up the order. it is really strange. Food: The tandoori chicken is good but everything else is pretty ordinary. I recommend that you take your business elsewhere if you care about being served with kindness and care.
DO NOT COME if you want good indian food. I am writing this review sitting right here. We ordered paneer makhani and paneer tikka korma… It was just milk with some spices and color..Both the dishes were watery which are usually of thick consistency and did not have much of taste. They have FRESH JUICES which is apparently bottled so I am not sure why they called it fresh. The only thing that we really liked is Mango lassi. The veg biryani was soggy and did not taste great too. Let me also highlight, half the items we ordered were not available on Saturday evening. So TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK
How to be the worst service in a restaurant that I have ever been to we ordered drinks never got them ordered bread never got them ordered. Brownie never showed up. We did have a big order and the curry was very watery.
