The sushi here is absolutely excellent, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. You can really taste the quality in every bite. It’s also such a great value for the price, which makes the experience even better. I especially recommend the vegetarian roll, which was delicious, and the salmon avocado roll, which was perfectly balanced and so satisfying. The specialty dishes are fantastic as well, the crispy tuna dish, in particular, was outstanding and full of flavor. One detail I really noticed and appreciated was how beautifully they cut the avocado. It’s such a small thing, but it shows the level of care and attention that goes into every plate, making the presentation just as enjoyable as the taste. I really like that there’s the option to order individual rolls from the menu, which I personally preferred. At the same time, they also offer really good lunch specials that are generous and worth checking out if you want a complete meal at a great price. We came here for dinner and everything exceeded expectations. Another thing that stood out, aside from the food, was the care and attention from the chef. It’s clear that he pays attention to his customers and takes pride in making sure everyone has a great experience, which adds so much to the atmosphere. The service overall was warm, attentive, and friendly, making the evening even more enjoyable. I also have to mention the ginger — it was excellent, fresh, and had just the right flavor, which I personally loved. It elevated the sushi perfectly and showed the thoughtfulness that goes into the small details here. Overall, this restaurant is a real gem. Highly recommended for both lunch and dinner! We arrived right at opening at 11:30 a.m., and the sushi was exceptionally fresh and absolutely delicious. Everything tasted outstanding. We visited this sushi restaurant yesterday with our family to celebrate the end of the school year for our kids — and it couldn’t have been a better choice! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the service was attentive and friendly, and the sushi… absolutely delicious! 🍣 Every roll was fresh and beautifully presented. It’s the kind of place where you feel taken care of from the moment you walk in. Perfect for family celebrations or just a relaxing night out. Highly recommend — we’ll definitely be coming back!
I was craving sushi but I couldn’t sit in so I got this order to go. This review based off of a pick up order, next time I’ll try to dine in. I ordered their salmon skin salad and their rainbow roll. The salmon skin salad was pretty good overall with a whole lot of salmon skin pieces. The rainbow roll was solid and delicious. Solid fish quality and rice, seaweed were perfect. I’d definitely come back to try their other menu items because it was a great meal overall.
Hidden gem! The food here was amazing. I had spicy tuna roll, pork gyoza, and teriyaki chicken and all were among the best I've ever had. Great service as well. 100% recommend this place to anyone who likes Japanese food. Best meal I've had in a while. Kudos to the chef and staff. Great job!
We have loved this place since we lived in the neighborhood years ago and had the pleasure of dining in more recently. The food is still as fantastic as we remembered. Our favorites are the cucumber sunomono, classic nigiri, and this crispy albacore roll. Everything was just as good as we remembered. Its position in a grocery store mall seems a little out of place, but it is definitely worth the drive, and the views in the area are gorgeous, too.

Excellent sushi, great selection of different fish and everything I tried tasted fresh and good. Quick service and the guys made my orders super fast. It's a rather small place and maybe not the place to have a big family celebration, but when it comes to quality of the food it's one of the top sushi places I tried (and I tried a lot)
Came in just before the dinner rush, but everyone in line seemed happy to wait. The sushi is amazing and they have a wide variety of rolls. Tried 3 different ones and all we're fantastic. Great service. Fast and very accommodating.
This has been my favorite sushi place to go to in this area for years. I live a good twenty minutes from Hanami, but i'ts always worth the ride. Sometimes I just get something to go, and other times I've gone here for drinks with my friends. I really haven't been let down by this place a single time. The food is to die for (My favorite is the Mango Salmon roll) and the staff is always nice and pleasant.
Hidden gem. I have been coming here for years and never had a bad meal. I highly recommend, the Crunch roll, CCY and the tuna. Everything is fantastic. I thought I left this review years ago. I try to go here at least once a week.
This place is special. Great sushi across the board. Nothing gross at all. The nigiri sushi is the best. Thicker than average slices of really fresh fish. The tuna and yellowtail were especially good. Also the service was exceptional. We kept ordering things and our server brought out our food so quickly. It was an amazing experience.

like all sushi places in LA it’s not gonna be fast food pricing. but the food is really good and the menu fairly comprehensive even if you don’t like the raw stuff. had a lunch special and picked the spicy tuna and california roll and it was plenty of food for around $22. fish was very fresh and tasty and service was expedient. would definitely return.
The absolute best sushi...anywhere!! One of those meals that goes down in the history of your life because the food is so unforgettably tasty! Went here on a date about one hour before closing and the staff was incredible. They walked the floors between tables scoping for empty plates, any we had were whisked away in mere minutes, and roll after magnificent sushi roll was produced in...I'm not kidding, 7 minutes or less. Our waitress brought us fresh pots of lovely hot tea, gave us advice on which rolls and sashimi to order, and was completely on point. Hands down the best sushi I've ever eaten!! The flavors and textures were truly gourmet, unique, and melded perfectly. The atmosphere was fairly casual but also private enough for a date.

I arrived 15 minutes before closing, Lunch, the first words out of the manager’s mouth was not “Welcome, just one today, good to see you again!” Instead he said we are taking last call right now. If the Fish wasn’t prepared and sourced so well I’d be done with Hanami. I hope that ownership will read into this review as a plea to change just one thing, the attitude of its manager. Again, a pleasant greeting goes a long way and recognizing a good customer is always the right thing to do. Ps. I was done with my lunch at 2:07, seven minutes after closing, and I was not the last customer there when I left. Definitely an interesting experience. Staff was great and nice. The food was great too. The karaage chicken was different than what I am used to, which is fine. I could be wrong.. but they didn't give any rice with our meat dishes. Price was higher than the typically quick food joint, so quality is going to be better. With that, smaller portions which didn't satisfy me enough. It is a great place and next time I'm in the area, I would like to check it out again.

Ordered take out on 7/30 for 130$ at the end of the day. Both my husband and I ate it, went to bed and felt sick ALL night long. In the morning we both had diarrhea and felt weak. Took an entire day to recoup enough strength to function again. Called restaurant and was asked what we ate BEFORE ordering from a restaurant... I had breakfast at home and my husband skipped breakfast, so that was the ONLY meal he had had all day that day. When I asked for a refund of our money , another person took the phone and interrupting me started to question again and then told me that since no one else came by complaining, I just show a DRS note to prove that my last meal of the day made me THAT sick. I asked him if he thinks that I'm making up and lying about the whole situation, he kept insisting that it's food I ate many hours beforehand that's responsible for the resulting problem. Again, kept yelling over me and demanded that I show a note from the DR. Basically never actually speaking to me like a manager/owner operator should. I told him that my next phone call will be to a Health Department and he will get his food investigated. NEVER AGAIN WILL I EAT AT THIS or any other local sushi places!!!!!
Zero Stars. The WORST customer service I have ever had! I DO NOT RECOMMEND. The entire staff was extremely RUDE!! On the evening of November 14, 2022 I called to ask when was their last seating as we had just arrived at the hotel next door. I was told the last seating was 9:15pm. The 2 of us arrived precisely at 9:15pm. The restaurant was empty. We were seated, handed menus and were immediately asked for our order. We replied that we needed a minute to read the menu. He stated that we had to order immediately as they close at 9:30. He hovered over us as we looked at the menu. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and main dishes. Our drinks came immediately, and within five minutes we received all of our food. The waiter and all the staff stood nearby lined up against the wall, staring at us while we ate. This made us very uncomfortable. In five more minutes, he came and placed our check on the table in a huff. Then he rejoined the staff lined up on the wall and they stood glaring at us with a disgusted look on his face. Five minutes later, the waiter came and asked us to pay. We were barely given 15 minutes to have our drinks and finish all of our food. Our bill was over $70 and we were expected to finish eating in 15 minutes while being hovered over and glared at!! This was the worst dining experience I have ever had! I have NEVER been treated this poorly. I told the waiter that it isn’t ok to pay $70 to be glared at while being pushed to inhale our food in 15 minutes. He angrily replied that they were closing. If they coudnt give us ample time to enjoy our $70 meal, they should not have seated us. Again, we did call ahead and were told the last seating was at 9:15pm. I will NEVER patronize Hanami Sushi ever again. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!
