Great food, it's an unassuming hole in the wall that I assume most people overlook. But it was very busy and the food was delicious, worth the wait. We will be coming back. If you are in the area it's a must try.

All of the dishes were excellent, small but fine dessert selection, very good selection of wines. One of the best décaf coffees I have ever had... Very pleasant suprise from a simple hotel front desk recommendation.

This little diner served surprisingly good food. As an avid traveller, I've eaten at many upscale restaurants. This little place truly holds its own with the big boys. Also, it's great that it's not a chain restaurant.

Had the sea bass, which was excellent. Waiter was attentive. It's located on the property of the quality inn. Can see ocean across highway 1. Early bird specials from 5-6pm. Open 5-9pm

Our Favorite hidden gem in San Simeon!! Took my wife for dinner. Lobster crusted Sea bass. With garlic mashed potatos and veggies for mywife! Authentic Cioppino with garlic bread fir me! Enjoyed with a glass of port wine and a Riesling repectfully!!🍷🍷😊😉❤❤💯💢

Had an excellent meal in this surprisingly cosy, intimate restaurant . The service was quick, the waiter recommended grilled salmon, rather than the blackened version. Within 20 minutes of my arrival the restaurant was packed but yet the 2 servers managed to sit & serve everyone . I loved the atmosphere & the copious dinner was less than $18.00 Wines & deserts are also offered.

We had got a bad vibe from a nearby restaurant and left without ordering. We arrived at the Manta Ray with an attitude but were immediately put at ease by the accomplished hostess. Lately we've been ordering ice water with our meals but I comfortably ordered wine for some reason. I had the Scampi and my wife had the Calamari plate. Both dinners were awesome and we shared quite a bit. We even splurged on dessert.

We haven't even left the restaurant yet but I couldn't wait to rate this place. I do a lot of reviews and ultimately this one stands out big time. Scampi pasta and Seafood pasta really delicious. Most of the dining is by the windows which are super cool looking. A lot of people shy away from a hotel restaurant, but if they do they are missing out on this one.

We were on our trip from Santa Cruz to Pismo Beach and decided to sleep in San Simeon. It was late and we decided to have diner close to the hotel. It was the best thing that we could do. The food is delicious and the team is awesome! If you are in San Simeon, do not forget to try this place!!!

Not often I write a review a week after I visited the establishment, but I must say the sea food pasta dish was absolutely fantastic. Best I've ever had.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised - our food was not only extremely well prepared and delicious but the price was beyond reasonable for the area. (I had steak he had shrimp fettucine.) We highly recommend this restaurant!

Great atmosphere, service, and food! Had the steamed clams for an app, cioppino for the meal, and chocolate decadence flourless cake with grenache for dessert. Accompanied by the house pinot grigio. It was all excellent! We were able to use a credit card. We will definitely be back.

This restaurant is magical. Amazing appetisers with the best bread ever, great fish and most fresh sea food you can find in Israel. Strongly recommended.

What a great intiment restaurant. We are visiting from Virginia, saw an ad and decided to give it a try. We were so glad we did. The clam chower was great and the Alfredo, the chef's speciality, did not disappoint. Alondra and Nachita provided great service, made us feel so welcome and it was like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Thank you Manta Rey for running such a great establishment.

Stayed at the hotel nearby, was not expecting much of the restaurant, but was tired from driving all day. I was very happy with the meal, service and the atmosphere. We both had delicious meals and would highly recommend. I had pasta seafood dish, in wine sauce.

I got clam chowder & the dinner special. SO good. The 24oz craft beer was $11, not bad for like 8% abv. Large wine list for a small restaurant. Would come back and bring friends no problem

We are on our way to San Francisco taking scenic coast route from LA and stopped in San Simeon for our half way point. We had dinner here with a lovely server named Beth, we each had a glass house Pinot Grigio paired with crab dinner and the surf and turf. The crab perfectly cooked and so fresh. The steak melted in our mouths! We finished it off with the flourless chocolate cake. I would highly recommended stopping and enjoying this lovely restaurant. (Celiac friendly)

Just had dinner we ordered the coconut shrimp as our appetizer. They were delicious! My husband ordered the poached salmon and I ordered the sea bass both were served with garlic mashed potatoes and vegetables. They also served fresh sourdough rolls. Everything was super tasty and fresh. We very much enjoyed our food and wonderful service. The reviews of this place are right on. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you 😊

We celebrated our anniversary here tonight. The coconut shrimp appetizer was cooked perfectly & delicious. We were also very pleased with our entrees: Seafood Pasta & Chicken Piccatta. The service was wonderful too. We will definitely be eating there again!

Service is slow. That's not a bad thing. Just know before you go and be kindly patient. It's a small-town quaint restaurant, not fast food. Relax for a while. :) I had the Alfredo pasta and it was delicious. The sauce was seasoned differently from traditional Alfredo sauce and I can't really describe it. Some may not like that it's a little different but give it a try. My husband had the fish and chips. The fish was lightly battered and he really liked it.

i’m not sure what all the 1 star reviews are for…? there was only a few workers there but the employees were all friendly and lovely. they were very attentive and had good vibes. the food was awesome!! the seafood pasta was divine, the clam chowder was amazing. :) very happy with this place.

Wonderful restaurant that was connected to the hotel we were staying. I wasn't expecting the experience we had, which was great! Friendly staff, delicious food and a lovely room. We sat by the window, which was circular, like a ship's window, which I found charming. The food was delicious, plentiful and priced right. Definitely recommended.

I had the Seafood Sampler and my wife had the Clam Linguini. The seafood was cooked to perfection. Everything was super tender and fresh tasting. The Shrimp Cocktail was awesome. Also very fresh tasting and not overcooked. Killer cocktail sauce. The Creme Brulee and Lemon cheesecake are to die for.

C

Where do I begin? The bread is homemade sourdough bread which is amazing! We had the Cajun Shrimp which was fantastic. The appetizer had shrimp with homemade mashed potatoes underneath them and a special homemade sauce. After that we had the house salad and their clam chowder. Both were phenomenal. Make sure to order the swordfish and prawns or the sea bass both were the best we have ever had in the history of all meals! The icing on the cake was the homemade orange ice cream...i know it is like what there is not made from scratch. Probably nothing. The owner himself waited on us and could not be more courteous or attentive to our needs. In addition he made an excellent white wine recommendation that not only was reasonable but very tasty. If you go anywhere near San Simeon please visit Manta Rey Resturant!!!! It is the BEST!!!!!!!

A Peaceful Dining Experience at Manta ray in San Simeon! On our anniversary trip, we were on our way to Hearst Castle we decided to stay one night in San Simeon. We weren’t really looking for anything in particular. We just wanted to see the elephant seals, and made an early tour in the morning in Hearst Castle. We stayed at the Sea Breeze Inn, a nice hotel in San Simeon, and then wanted to find somewhere nearby to eat within walking distance. We crossed the street, there isn’t much traffic, and after about four minutes walking, we arrived at a restaurant Manta ray. We were welcomed by our waiter, Oscar, a very kind man, who showed us to a table. We started by ordering fried calamari, which came with a couple of sauces. We were served fresh water with ice, along with a glass of wine for me and a beer for my husband. I ordered a Zinfandel (about $13, though I don’t remember the name), and my husband ordered a beer. After the calamari, we shared a clam chowder bread bowl. It was delicious, with warm fresh bread and great flavor. Later, we ordered a house Pinot Noir, one of the affordable options. Oscar, our waiter, was respectful, attentive, and very polite. But then the restaurant filled up quickly, a group of 15 came in, then a couple, then another group of four, then two, then another eight people. Suddenly, the restaurant was full. I was surprised at how popular the place was, the service and the food were great. But they are short-staffed. If you come here, remember this: • Sit down and calm down. • If you’re in a hurry, this is not your place. • If you’re coming with kids, this might not be your place either. This is a peaceful restaurant, a local spot where you can enjoy the experience with kind people. Oscar was extremely hardworking. He was cleaning tables, bussing dishes, taking orders, making drinks, serving wine, delivering food, refilling water, and even bringing bread, all at the same time. He was essentially running the entire dining area by himself on a Saturday night rush, while just a couple of cooks worked in the kitchen. In less than 30 minutes, around 25 people came in, and the restaurant can probably hold about 30 in total. Oscar and the cooks did an amazing job doing everything they could to provide good service and tasty food. If you come here expecting fast, five-star service in five minutes because you’re starving, then go somewhere else and pay the extra price. But if you want to relax, have a bottle of wine, order appetizers, and enjoy the atmosphere, this is the perfect place. We stayed from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., enjoying every moment. We had the fried calamari, then clam chowder, then a cioppino, along with battle of wine, beer, and water. The music was relaxing, the atmosphere was peaceful, and the people, locals and travelers, were friendly, kind, and smiling. Please, don’t write a bad review here just because you came from the city expecting to be treated like someone “special.” The special ones are the local people working hard to make your evening better. Be patient, be respectful with the staff, and you’ll have a great experience. For us, it was a memorable anniversary dinner, and we are thankful to Oscar, our waiter, as well as the chefs and staff who made our night special. If I ever return to San Simeon, I will definitely come back to Manta Rey Restaurant.

A surprise on the edge if the Pacific Coast! This delightful spot connected to the hotel we were staying in, well it was a great surprise! The atmosphere was so charming, we walked in and thexsoft jazz, lively wood work and decor was so inviting. Our server met us as we walked in and said sit wherever you want, so we took a seat by the window. We ordered and our server brought out our drinks with warm rolls with butter. Then our entree followed and the food was so delicious. The shrimp was cook perfectly and we had such a lovely meal. We decided to share dessert and the lemon cheesecake was excellent! I highly recommend that for dessert! If you're in the the San Simeon area, don't pass this place up! You won't be disappointed. What I have learned, we found out that sometimes you don't have to go that far for an amazing dining experience!

We had a fabulously delicious dinner, Miguel the owner greeted us and sat us down right away. We started with some delicious fresh coconut shrimps and a couple of ice cold beers. I had a nice bowl of clam chowder that was thick and full of flavor. For dinner I had the day's special snapper, mashed potatoes and fresh steamed vegetables. Lydia had shrimp Alfredo and pasta. Let me say this, everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor that were out of this world. We ended our dinning experience with a no flower chocolate cake for Lydia and I had the house special Orange ice cream. If you are ever in San Simeon or just traveling through we totally recommend that you stop and have a five star meal and tell Miguel that Lydia and Robert sent you.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I have not had food this good in 10+ years! Very small, very elegant formal/casual restaurant. With the BEST view from inside of the ocean across the street. Staff was AMAZING, atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing. Creme Brulee is A MUST HAVE!!! From the soup of the day, to the steak, to the Ahi Tuna Steak, Clam Chowder Bread Bowl & Coconut Shrimp. Oh my goodness! Hands down the best seafood place I've ever been to! Started out with the Clam Chowder Bread Bowl, wow just wow! So much flavor, so many ingredients, and it was so hot I had to slow down. Everytime I stirred the soup it was steaming! That is the best way to eat clam chowder! It also came with fresh, hot bread rolls and butter. So crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and it just melts in your mouth! Then I had the Seafood Sampler Plate. BEST scallops and shrimp I've ever had! Everything was so tender and full of flavor. You can't tell you're eating seafood, it was so fresh and not fishy. The vegetables were also cooked perfectly, yum! Prices are perfect, you get what you pay for! Can't wait to go back for dessert! Service was also wonderful, my server was helpful and courteous, very professional! Always checked on me, made sure I was taken care of.

We stayed at the Quality Inn next to this restaurant and decided to try this place out of convenience. It happened to be the best decision for dinner. It is a small and quaint restaurant with a very comfortable atmosphere. Shout out to the employee working as a host and server! I forgot to get his name but he is amazing! He was the only staff working the front as a host and server but he managed it all on his own- seating guests, cleaning tables, taking orders, serving food, and charging. He was very friendly, hard-working, and really cared about the guest experience. The food was delicious as well. We ordered the calamari, dinner salad, and the sea bass. Everything was delicious. Even the couple sitting next to us gave compliments to the chef. Other dining guests also seemed to like their experience. I didn't have high expectations for this restaurant so I was very surprised with the great service and delicious food. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. Definitely recommend!

Food was good. Waitress forgot our clam chowder. Only check to see if we needed anything once. Too much time waiting in between things, such as ordering, soup, main dish, check, etc.

Place was very busy. Food was excellent. Our server looked a bit like Julia Childs. She never smiled once or was very personable, but she did her job well. 5 in our party, a round of drinks and dinner came to $325, less the tip.

Fast Fast Fast!!! Portions good size. Prices were within reason for a tourist town. Did not like having to use an ATM. Bring cash or pay $2.50 for withdrawals. Hamburgers, Chicken Sandwich, and Ribs were excellent! Basket of fries big enough for 5 people. Inside and outside dining. Limited shaded areas outside and it was a warm day. Lots of choices of Restaurants in Cambria, but go there first. Order at cashiers. Number called within 10 minutes.

Surrprisingly delicious for a hotel restaurant. Notice view of sunset. Wait staff looked really tired though. Someone wire here about Asians seated last? I did not see that but in the bus to Hearst Castle did see a now about a Chinese menu. I didn't see it though, ordered only soup

We made last minute plans to stay in San Simeon and found a hotel room right off Hwy 1. After a day of visiting nearby (within 50 miles) awe-inspiring coastline sights, we were ready for a delicious meal, and that's what we got at Manta Ray. We did a restaurant search and were surprised that there was a well-rated place right next to our hotel! We were sat immediately at a table by a ocean-view window and had drinks within minutes. While we waited for our meal, the chef visited the table next to us, at a returning patron's request, which was a good sign. The waitress was very accommodating, and didn't hesitate to bring me a different glass of wine -since the one I ordered may have been left open to long. I had the sea bass and a Mediterranean salad, and both were well prepared, flavorful, and very satisfying. If you're staying in San Simeon and looking for a fresh and tasty seafood dinner, visit Manta Ray.

Basically a little hole in the wall, nicely decorated, but not much seating. A very friendly staff greeted us and were very attentive to our needs. The food was superb! Prawns were large and cooked perfectly, vegetables were amazing and the rolls...well I could have made a meal out of those. I definitely recommend!

Quaint restaurant with delicious food. The waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and had good humor. Filet mignon was buttery, the seafood pasta dish was eye-rolling good and the artichoke Appetizer was tasty. And the chowder..ooh the chowder..yummy. Fish and chips were flakey fresh. Its a lovely place to come to for delicious food and possibly a romantic ambiance.

Service was good. Food was good. Would of been much better if offered more bread. My 3 year old enjoyed her chicken and chips. This plate was a sea food pasta. The desert was a little hard. It paired well with the Peachy Canyon wine. $$

We came across this restaurant on the internet. Upon the reviews, menu, and pictures of the food we decided to try it. I have to say that the food was good. We ordered the artichoke hearts for appetizers which were okay, not great. They had too much batter that took away from the artichoke hearts. We had the clams which were good but the broth needed a little more flavor. My wife ordered the seafood pasta which was delicious! I ordered the lobster tail which was also delicious! I will say that they are stocked in the wine department but did not have a huge selection of beer or anything else. Besides that, the staff was great and not a long wait time on food and drinks. Overall it was a good experience. If we are ever back here, we wouldn't hesitate to try this place again!

First time here, won't be our last... Prices were fair... Food tasted good, even though it was over cooked, when you order a steak medium, you want a medium steak... Customer service was good, they could have used one more person in there to help... Overall, we were happy and full...

The atmosphere is small, dark and shabby. The service was ok. The food was plentiful (never had so much shrimp in a shrimp alfredo), but bland. Definitely too pricy for what you get.

Good food, polite waiters. I had the 12 oz sirloin steak. I asked for medium, it was medium well but still very tasty.

I had the fish plate. The veg was warm at best and the fish didn’t appear to be seasoned. The batter was pretty bland and not particularly crispy. The other dish at our table was the ravioli and that was very nice.

E

The food is ok but some kind are just sample and expensive, the juice we just tasted it and didn’t drink it, the bread you can smell the yeast from it , the waitress is the worst thing in the restaurant at least the one who served us , her voice so loudly and wasn’t friendly at all , soooo bad , everyone at the restaurant knew what we ordered. I don’t suggest it for you

My wife and I after a 5 year span once again dinned in the restaurant. Our last visit was so enjoyable we decided to skip many other well know restaurants in the area. The service is friendly and atmosphere decent. I have to say this go around the food slipped a bit. Not that it was bad but it was just decent, nothing special. Maybe a fluke not sure but just being honest. It just wasn't as good as it was 5 years ago.

S

Service was regular and the food was not worth the price. We had the clam chowder with shrimp. A former customer had posted a picture on trip advisor which looked amazing. This picture was the reason we went to the restaurant. When we received the chowder we were disappointed to see that it didn't look like this picture at all. Instead of two big juicy shrimp baked in the chowder there were two huge handfuls of unflavored luke warm cocktail shrimp. Disgusting. The Sea Bass and the Steak were great, though the Sea Bass came with two piles of slightly wilted undressed spinach. It was totally unnecessary and I couldn't it eat. I wish I had done more research and picked a different restaurant.

We walk away feeling our food was ok. I spent $60 on a lobster tail that was dry. Had to send the NY steak back because it wasn't cooked as requested. Filet Mignon was fine, but needed the A1 (and that's not ok) service was great so we tipped well. We wanted to love the food but was not worth the $200 we spent.

C
Chris Easthouse

Great atmosphere relaxing great service. Started out with shrimp cocktail on a scale 3 out of 10. Two lobster plates not good at all over cooked cold mashed potatoes cold vegetables spent $180 . Best part was the homemade orange ice cream.

We can in July 15th on a Saturday night and We’ve been coming here for about 8 years since we are locals! It has always been our favorite spot to celebrate our anniversary, birthdays and more! The food has always been absolutely amazing!! I get the Ciopinno and my husband usually steak and our daughter love the chicken strips! As always our food was on point and delicious! But yesterday was a different experience for us! In the past we have had amazing and friendly service but this time was very disappointing! Our server was rude and made us feel not wanted and uncomfortable! Almost treated us as if we didn’t have money or something! Which is not the case! Never judge a book by its cover!! We even caught her whispering and talking about us to another employee behind the bar! When I would ask her a question it was almost as if she was annoyed with us and bothered! Needless to say we will never sit down and eat while she is serving again and we come in at least 6 times a year! Fair warning she’s the younger dark haired waitress that needs a huge attitude adjustment!

This place is quaint and charming. I thought the atmosphere was very nice. The wait staff was very friendly. I had the clam chowder bread bowl, and my friend got the sampler platter. The bread bowl was great, but the sampler platter just tasted like fryer oil.

It's not too bad. The service was so so. I ordered Sea Bass as main cource, the surface was a little bit dry and brittle, fortunately it's fresh inside. Besides, the spinach was tooooo salty and I have to ask waiter for another glass of water to quench my thirst. Honestly, I love the wine, it's the best choice I made tonight!

Customer service was poor considering their was only one other party their. Food was out fast but very flavorless. When we parked we had our soon to be waitress and one other kitchen personnel starring us down. Made this experience uncomftorable.

Walked in and it was pretty dark. There was only 2 other customers there for dinner and it took 20 minutes to get our food. We ordered the sour dough clam chowder bowl which were super small, the spaghetti which had no flavor and chicken tenders with fries. The chicken tenders were the only thing with flavor. Customer service was good though, just the food was lacking flavor

I had the seafood sampler. The seafood was fried perfectly, the sides however showed zero creativity. Tepid garlic mashed potatoes in the shape of the portioned scoop, nearly uncooked carrots and broccoli. A forced 20% gratuity because of our party of five, in an empty restaurant. Neither the front or the back of the cause seemed to care. Good luck with thinking boys!

K

Definitely not a kid friendly place even though they have a kids menu, if you want to call it that. Small portions . Family of 6 left still hungry . Manager watched our family the whole time making sure we left quicker then the older higher paying patron that was there before an after we left . An server gave herself a 30 dollar tip even though she was awful .. said because our bill was $200 or more .... if you are not good at your job you should not tip yourself. I own my own business an tips are very important an I would never expect my clients to tip me more because they paid more then the next person. Your money is better spent somewhere else .

We seemed to be an afterthought after questing their massive wine list. The 40$ wine bottle suggested was amazing, but we barely seen our server after that. She dropped our order and ran. We were attended mostly by others when they seen our questioning faces. The bowl of chowder was awesome!!!! But was a 'cup' not a bowl. Left me wanting more. Coconut shrimp is frozen fried, not fresh made. The clams were majorly super salty. When telling our server, in one of her rare appearances, she shrugged it of. 85$/minus the tip. For wine, 2 cups of soup, and 2 appetizers? Btw if you want extra bread it's a 4min wait. This was our 3rd time there. By far the most disappointing. I'm not sure we'll return.

I am sure the food was great once, but that was not our experience. I would describe it as one level above diner. Certainly not worh what I was charged. Desert was frost bitten, dips where combined with aoile and chilled ingredients making it impossible to dip. I got the impression that I got a mix of frozen and or prepared day before food. I get the impression that the passion has left the building. Salad was great though!

Terrible. We were seated and brought menus, no one came to wait on us. After 15 minutes and we had not even given drink orders we got up and walked out. They were not busy.

I had the halibut special. Over cook to halibut jerky. The special was $40, that's not special. My wife had the Ahi tuna, again over cooked. We were the only ones in the restaurant and the food service was very slow. I would avoid this place, looks like a nice bar and grill just a few blocks north.

M
Myrian Grondin

Food was WONDERFUL, especially if you consider the restaurant is located in a hotel. Great choices, affordable prices for the quality you have. Why only 1 star? Because the service was AWFUL. And they did a FRAUD (tentative). Honestly, I never complain about service, but it was the worst service I had ever. If bosses read this : our waitress was tall, blond hair, large shoulders. She was nice with a group of customers, but we had 0 service (we were 2). No water refill, not asking for pepper, didn't ask if it was good, we had to make big signs to have another basket of bread, never ask if a wanted another drink. Minimal service, no smiles. And we are easy-going. Our bill was 55.53. The service was so bad I gave her 3$ tip. I felt bad for her because usually I give 15-20% tip depending on quality, but as she didn't deserve any tip at all, I thought it was still generous. I paid with my credit card, and you add the tip by hand, not the terminal. I've kept a copy of the bill with the amount I gave (because I was afraid of a fraud, only 3$ tip...). I've checked today, and OH MY GAWD they charged me 3$ more! I've contested it and I had a refund, but I hope the owner of the place (and/or the supervisor of this waitress) will be aware of this fraud tentative and the bad service she gives. Maybe because we have an accent in English? But still, it's bad service. I have an accent in all the almost 30 restaurants we have visited in our USA trip. But come on, your restaurant is in a hotel, you should be used with strangers. The worst service I ever had (+ combined with FRAUD). Go there only if you pay cash. Because food was still great.

We came from Morro Bay for a two day vacation. Our hotel was in San Simeon, when we arrived we were very hungry. We looked at all of the restaurants near by and and this restaurant seemed the nicest. When we entered it was decorated for Valentine's Day but was very busy. We asked one of the waiters how long the wait would be and they said half an hour. So we made reservations and went back to our hotel to settle in. A little more than half an hour later, we arrived and had to wait in line for another 30 minutes. At this point we are starting to get hungry and regretting coming here. Finally, the waitress seated us and we ordered. People behind us got their food faster than us. When the food came everyone was unhappy. The fish was over-cooked, the Alfredo pasta had no Alfredo sauce, the ravioli was drowning in sauce, and when the ribs came they were under cooked so they kindly offered to take them back to the kitchen to cook them. They came back with my meat by the time everyone else in my party was done eating and the meat was still under cooked. In addition, in the description of the ribs it said there would be garlic mashed potatoes and there were none so we asked the waiter about them and they said they ran out of potatoes so they couldn't give us any but they said they would make a new batch for us. When they came they were undercooked and had too much garlic. Overall, the service is very friendly but the food and wait was not worth the amount of money we spent.

I hate leaving bad reviews but this takes the cake. We were looking for a place to eat after touring the Hearst Castle. With options in San Simeon being limited, we chose this place. Bad idea. The wine and the dessert were the only decent food we had. The server was ok but at times seemed annoyed. Long story short, my fiancé ordered Ahi tuna. What he got was tuna, albacore tuna being sold at Ahi price! That is called a scam! The waitress knew we were inspecting it bc the minute she took it to the table she went over to the bar and looked at us, said something to the other waitress who looked at us and then we waived her over. She said, I thought it looked funny the past 2 days I've been serving it. WOW. Needless to say, we won't be going back ever and do not recommend restaurants who try to scam people. If you're out of Ahi, tell the guess and ask if they would like a substitute. But who knows if they were even out of it! This could be a normal occurrence there. So disappointed. If you're looking for wine and dessert, this is your place. If not, keep driving!

The food was good. However, when I pay $30 for cioppino (3/4 price of the king crab)one would expect the the soup have plenty of seafood. I was given a bowl overflowing with broth and little seafood (two of each). My past experience’s with the soup (also confirmed with research of recipes) indicates it should be the opposite. The seafood should be overflowing with the broth 1/3 of the bowl. As well, the soup should be served with lots of bread, this was not the case either, I was given two of the tiniest pieces of garlic bread I have ever seen. I did say something to our server, but nothing came of it. No apology, just a blank stare and a “I will tell them.” My wife said the scampi was good. But I suggest not getting the cioppino.

N
Naná Gularte

I would actually give it 1.4 stars; I used to go to this restaurant when I was a kid, but this was a bizarre experience. The table cloth hanging down in front of me had orange stains on it. It felt like new owners; the food didn't match the menu. The sand dabs were dry and crunchy. The rice medley it came with was Mexican rice (no foul, it would just be nice though if it said that). The sea bass was pretty good. But if I'm going to pay for what we got, then I wouldn't have paid that much. I would go here for the wine and dessert.

K
Kelly Chen

Little value for more money than expected - do they treat Asian looking tourists differently? The food was OK, and the service was average. We were a party of five people, and got served only one glass of water when we asked to get water for the table. My mother tried to order water again separately, but never got it. The scampi that she ordered contained so few actual scampi, she was still hungry and shared our food. It got worse when the bill came, and to our surprise, the restaurant had added over 20% tips to the bill already. I believe this was because we looked like out of town tourists and were treated as such as well. At this stage, we had had enough and just paid and left. Stay away!

J
Joel Osuna

Not impressed at all!!!. The pasta was ok and so was the sauce for the seafood pasta. $28 plus tax for the seafood plate plus $7 plus tax for warm beer. The seafood plate only had 2 shrimps and 2 tiny scallops in it. The beer on the picture is the 2nd one that replaced the warm one. The waitress was attentive and cheerful. I really don’t think that the food quality and quantity justify the prices. In my opinion, it is not worth to spend your money there! Way overpriced and low quality!!!!!!!!

S
Shuying Lai

Overpriced and low quality. We just didn’t have other choices in this are. Medium steak turned out to be well done and dry. Sea bass was dry and overcooked as well. Seafood pasta had super small portion.

Clean place, but I got there to sit and eat after a long days of work 12 hours. The lady that was attending she was in the back possibly talking to the cook. They were talking about shots of tequila I think I was standing up for 10 mins. As she came out she saw me and I asked her for a menu and I asked her I ordered and told her I wanted to sit down and eat there. Then she kept asking if i wanted it packed to go. I replied and said well I don't want to carry it cause they gave me room upstairs and have other things to carry. She looked at me and said I can pack it to go and I finally said okay gave her my card and paid the bill. she gave me the ice tea and then after a while I got the food and got to the room and the roll was hard as a rock the sauce was spilled all over the bag. What a waste and cold. I wanted to dine in but this place did not allow it. The only thing that was soft was on the roll was a little bit on the inside. Also too much lemon and salty. On the rest of the food.

Food was good service was horrible.Waitress was very rude never checked on us, once seemed to be bothered. If we have questions only waitress working seem to be bothered by anybody in the restaurant. The waiter was not capable of serving properly, was overwhelmed by a few orders of sparkling water. The (medium rare ordered) New York steak was cold but still burned, with an overwhelming taste of charcoal. Can't recommend, unless you limit yourself to the fish selection.

e
elaine tate

Honestly it was one of the worst meals on a while. My dad ordered a new York steak 60% of the steak was Gristle and he wasn't able to eat it. When he order the waiter asked would you like soup or salad, my dad ordered the salad. When the time came to pay they charge $8 for a side salad, and I asked him did you say it came with it? He said yeah but you have to pay extra for it..... Honestly you over paying for food that doesn't have flavor, the service is slow. You can get better food at the dinner 200 ft away.
