Since they originally opened I have always eaten the grilled ham cheese and tomato sandwich, about once a month. Yes because they're that good. today I've varied off and had a cheeseburger with green chili that was satisfying.

OK… Outside of my house’s grill, this is one of the best burgers I’ve had in a restaurant in a long time. Thin-cut fresh fries, delicious meat, Hatch chiles, ridiculous baked potatoes, and THE CHERRY LIMEADES. Affordable and delectable. This kitchen is bitchin’.

Enjoyed a tasty burger and fries. I will be back.

Very good, very big burger. I'm typically very sceptical about Green Chili in Texas, but this was pretty good. Everybody working there were genuinely nice people. Only thing I might say negative is the burger could have been seasoned a little more when they cooked it, but I guess that's a personal preference.

Great food, good prices, friendly staff, pleasant environment. We had questions about ingredients (avoiding food allergies) and the owner was very helpful, ready to explain everything that went into the food. Definitely recommend eating here if you're in the area.

Best burgers in Canyon! Fries are cut in the restaurant and were very good. My son said the chicken fried steak sandwich was excellent. The facility is new and sparkling clean. The place was packed but orders were filled promotly. Highly recommend.

Was looking for a local spot with good food and good reviews, and decided upon Bear's. The reviews did not lie! Our burgers were as close to homemade as i have ever eateh, but much better. Buns were soft and fresh with hand pressed patties. Fries were generous and very, very tasty! I did try the lime/cherry drink (compliments of the owner) and it was delicious and refreshing. I had never heard of one before and asked what it was, so he made one for me! Every customer that walked thru the door was greeted by him, and thanked by him! I think it is great when you go somewhere that welcomes your business! If in palo duro or canyon and doing your laundry, as we were, tey Bear's! You won't be disappointed!

Best loaded green chili cheeseburger on the high plains. Crispy thin cut fries with the perfect amount of seasoning. All that and they are quick to get orders out, Need I say more? Great food and staff at this off the beaten path diner. Plus the owner is AWESOME, even the kids love going to see Bear, and he always makes time for customers!

Great food and great ownership. We had a takeout order and every employee in the building greeted us with sincerity as we got the food. The fries and burgers were hot and delicious. Honestly, this will be my go-to place for my burger fix in the panhandle. Excellent atmosphere, service, and food!

Had an awesome time with our whole family the day after Thanksgiving. The food was well made, quick and generous, and on top of that the staff were really friendly and gave it a great atmosphere. Would definitely come here again if we were staying longer.

We stopped in at Bear's Burger and Dawgs just after they opened on a Saturday morning. The staff was friendly, and Bear made it a point to talk to us, as well as other customers entering the restaurant. The food came out quickly, was well made and was delicious. Some of the items on the menu were premade commercial items, but the level of service and the quality of the handmade items more than made up for that. I recommend this restaurant, and will eat here again, should we happen to travel through Canyon in the future.

This place is a must go when you want a great burger and great service. It's an open plan, so you can pretty much watch them make it in front of you if you wanted to. Fresh ingredients and the burger tasted great! I would highly recommend this place. They even had the latest sporting event on a tv to watch!

Amazing food!! Burgers and fries are made fresh and they even get the bread from a local bakery. You never have to wait long and if any issues arise, they always have an owner on hand to fix it quickly.

This place is great. I was told about it but honestly forgot. I ordered the steak fingers and they were delicious. A little cold but that was my fault I was late getting my food but still good. I will definitely be going back to try something and yes next time eating there so the food will be hot and fresh.

We stopped by yesterday after a long day at the canyon. Hands down, this place was the warmest spot we visited in Amarillo. The place was clean and the burger was fantastic. I look forward to coming again in the future.

Great place to stop and get a bite to eat. Met Bear when he was taking my order. Very friendly place. Had the Loaded Frito Pie. It was great. My daughter had the Steak Fingers and fries. Would definitely recommend. And will be going back when I am here in town.

My husband and I ended up here for lunch today and I am glad we did. We were on our way to Creek House Honey Farm from Amarillo and came across it on Google. The burgers were soooo good! The patties are hand formed and they were juicy and delicious! We ordered an order of chili cheese tots to share and ended up ordering a second order! (Add onions!) Can't wait to go back and try their loaded Frito Pie and loaded baked potato! The owner was very welcoming and came out to check on us while we were there. I think he made it a point to speak to everyone that came in the door. You don't see that much anymore! Before I forget...if you don't get a cherry lime, you are missing out!

Really happy to have stumbled upon this place during a cross country road trip. First of all, the burgers are MONSTER, you will not leave hungry. Second, they use ground chuck use gives them a lot of flavor. The staff was very friendly and service was quick. Got to speak with Bear for a bit and he was very friendly and kind. Definitely found a new spot on the map of places to stop when in the area.

The woman who was taking our order was very kind and sweet, she absolutely knew the right questions to ask and make sure you felt at home. Kinda hard to find but worth it. Hand made patties and lots of fries. I had a double meat should have gotten a single. Lots to eat and a pretty big menu. Frito pie hot dogs and all.

The burger was delicious! The bun, cheese and toppings on it were great and fresh. Service was quick too. The cherry lime was good but had too much ice in my opinion so I had to refill three times. We were told the fries would be enough for two people but we didn’t get enough for two people. Photos online from previous reviews show a lot more fries than what we got. Prices have gone up compared to the menus I found online. Bear was polite and friendly. Definitely a favorite for the locals but first timers or out of towners may not feel as comfortable. Some soft country music playing would be nice instead of silence.

Great Green Chili Cheeseburger and Cherry Limeade! The portions are just right for me, meaning they're probably too big for you. Since I was dining in, the burger was wrapped in such a way as to display all the various layers of goodness I was about to ingest. I really did feast with my eyes first. The fries are kinda so-so in my opinion because they lean more to the floppy side than the crispy side. Every time I order I find myself wishing they offered fried mushroom and milkshakes, but they don't. Perhaps their fried pies will satisfy my sweet tooth next time? This is a Ma-N-Paw type burger joint that is clean and spacious. They do have a single TV, but don't leave it cranked up and annoyingly loud, making it very easy to ignore the drama on screen and enjoy a good ol fashioned burger. In addition to the main dining room, they also have seating on the second story and on the outdoor patio, with views of the train. However, I didn't have much time to gander at the sights because the food was ready quickly. And the people? They're nice and friendly.

Being a huge foodie, family brought me here while I was in town for Easter after theu were raving about this new place that has awesome burgers. Bear you didn't disappoint! Personally I don't prefer my burger well done but it still carried great flavor, juices run down my hands and I topped it off with cheese, green chile, and bacon to make it the perfect combination!

My daughter and I both had the loaded Frito pie. I liked their twist on it, adding smoked meat and BBQ sauce. We were surprised by this as there was no description and we just expected typical Frito pie toppings. The girl working the register was very quiet, it would be nice if she was a little more outgoing. Overall, a nice little place we could chat over lunch and the music wasn't blaring.

Every once in a while you stumble onto a venue that looks great in the pictures and has a very high rating but when you visit, the experience doesn't equal the Google review. I walked in and ordered the bacon cheesburger, deluxe with fries and a bottled beer for $14. It was served within 10 minutes. The burger patty was disappointingly small, it was also slightly overdone and quite dry. Their was one tomato slice that was very thin. The bun was a quality bun. The juicy, cheesy, meaty burger flavor you would expect just wasn't there. (This is after all Texas) The fries were hot but overseasoned with maybe Laury's salt?, so this left them quite salty. Atmosphere needed music, so it felt more like eating at a cafeteria. Realistically this venue is a 3.7 or 3.8 at best. It has the potential to be a great find, with some tweaking and attention to food prep and quality.

Great food but “bear” sure seemed short on patience from a simple question about an entree. Didn’t appreciate being talked down to. Everyone serves food different. How the hell am I supposed to know how the stupid chicken fry sandwhich comes. And add frys to the plate. How dis appointing

Overall the place isn't bad. But, for me, nothing to write home about. Just your average burger plus with above average prices. Don't expect to walk out with paying less then 20 dollars. They have no combos and everything is on the spot. Burger, fries, and a drink runs you 17 dollars before tax. And, they have gone up every year since opening in 2019. Was about 6 dollars for a burger then. Now close to 10 dollars. Listen, I understand inflation and all, but there is still quality for the price. Like I said, the burgers aren't horrible or anything just too expensive. Hill's down the street is a full combo for 10 bucks. I understand that some businesses are starting to get rid of sides coming with a meal, or combos in general, but that's not where I'm about. For that price, could at least get it with fries.

Not bad but not crazy good either. Place is kind of expensive too about 16-17 for a cheeseburger, fries, and drink. Decent place to grab lunch if you feel like shopping local.

Server was very rude. I almost cancelled my order and left. Instead it just cost him a tip and I won't be back . Food was a little bland and certainly not inexpensive. Cherry lime was great.

Staying in Canyon for work. Wanted to grab something to eat and head to my hotel. The young girl that took my order acted more like I was not smart enough to be unsupervised. I don’t appreciate being talked down to. I have been here once before but this will probable be the last. The food is good but service sucked this time It was today July 8th around 2pm..

The food is amazing that is a given. As soon as we walked up to order the middle aged gentleman was snarky and smart ass off the bat. I already felt uncomfortable. We ordered 3 meals to go no drinks. We got in the car to check the order and we ordered 3 small fries with our burgers. We only had two. I sent my adult daughter in to go get her fry in and she came back empty handed and said he said they put it in the bag. I gave her my fry to show him this was it only two. (Younger son was eating his already) She said he made her feel like a child, and she was embarrassed and people were looking at her as he belittled her and said he wont argue. We paid $40 something dollars for 3 meals and they forgot a fry and made us feel unwelcome and belittled. We are hispanic so idk if that has a role in it. But we didn't feel welcome at all.

Man with a handle bar mustache was rude to our party. When I tried to order a baked potato he was so condescending he said “try again”. I don’t think the baked potato sign had been marked out to notify customers that you were out. Overall rude, but not rude to the locals that came in after us.

The menu look super tight, so decided to try this place out. I REGRET THINGS NOW. Service was so uncomfortable, and the food was trash. Honestly could of dug out of the dumpster of a McDonald's and it would be better quality. Very expensive considering the food is garbage. Overall, kinda trash. Also one last thing wth is up with the owner like bro I just want food.

We ordered a chili cheese dog and a burger we took one bite and left that stuff on the table and left. The place is absolutely filthy. The dispenser where the forks and napkins are they haven't never been cleaned I'm sure the grease is old and the flavor of the food is not on point so maybe we caught him on a bad day but we left the table full of food for them to know that we ain't going to take microwaved hot dogs and mid-level burgers from a burger and hot dog joint.
