Love this new Thai restaurant in Capitola. The food is very authentic with excellent flavors. The staff is lovely and the portions are large
This is lovely ‘family’ feeling Thai restaurant. The vibes are good, the staff is sweet, and the food is delicious! I stayed and read a chapter of my book after dinner💛
Great authentic Thai food! Great service, with recommendations, big interesting menu! We will be back regularly!!
Definitely the best Thai restaurant in the area!! Super friendly and great service. Absolutely delicious food and so many options. Could be my favorite restaurant!
Great service and great food!! I am so excited to have authentic healthy tie food. I got the red curry. It was delicious. So authentic and homemade. I will be back. I am exciting to try more of their options and sit down in their beautiful restaurant. This place is worth trying! If you liked the place that was there before you will LOVE this new place :)
So delicious and the people are sooo nice. I've been to a lot of Thai restaurants and this is really top notch. Everything has incredible flavor and really good sized portions and very affordable. Thank you!
We’ve been here a lot and LOVE IT! The best Thai in town imo. Brought friends and they also seem to love it as much as us!
Just came to try this new Thai spot after it being a Chinese restaurant for the longest time, the menu online shows what is gluten free and what is vegan and I got the gluten free orange chicken! First time ever having gluten free orange chicken from a restaurant instead of having to make it myself and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked and juicy chicken with a salty sweet orange sauce! Their Thai tea was delicious and they gave us a Thai coffee on the house! I’m ready to go and eat there again
I have finally found the BEST yellow thai curry in Santa Cruz! This is a must try spot if you like Thai food. I will definitely be back!
Great addition to Capitola! Thom Ka - balanced, full flavored & full bodied. Kind of a Thai staple, excellently done! Kao Soy - you're in for a treat!! I dined by myself this time so probably spent a little more than in a group cuz I wanted some variety... Unassuming place in a strip mall, way exceeded expectations. I will bring friends & come back often!
Really good Thai food! My lunch came with the best thom yum I've ever had..the red curry was rich and came with a dollop of coconut cream on top which made it even richer.
The food here is sooo good. The khoa soy (not sure about the spelling) is super yummy and filling and their pad see yew is also really good. Also must try the Thai tea
Well decorated, quiet place with very friendly staff. Food was fresh and delicious. Khoi Soi was great, highly recommend. Better mango sticky rice than other Thai places nearby
We had Panange Curry with braised beef, Pot Stickers, and Papaya Salad… all was delicious! The waitstaff is wonderful and so is the restaurant atmosphere.
Wow! Best Thai I’ve had in Santa Cruz. There is a lot of love put into what they are doing. Very interesting menu options and everything we had was delicious and recommended by the server.
Wow! Coconut Thai is delicious!!! In addition to their delicious food, I have finally found a restaurant that carries the most delicious local wine, Testarossa. Coconut Thai carries a bottle of Testarossa 2023 Pino Noir that is so tasty. We had a variety of menu items, ALL of which were absolutely amazing. The wait staff are friendly, quick, and accommodating. I urge any and all to check out Coconut Thai in the former Mayflower spot in Browns Ranch in Capitola. I feel compelled to add that I am confused why there are reviews from 1 month to years ago when Coconut Thai opened on 9-20-2025. I’m assuming they are referring to the former Mayflower Restaurant.
Hey Amir, thank you for your wonderful review. I’ve known the owner for years. The restaurant represents years of dedication to serving the most authentic and tasty Thai dishes. I highly recommend coconut Thai cuisine.
So good! A lot of items that you can’t normally find at other Thai restaurants in town. High quality ingredients and warm, friendly staff. This spot will be in the regular rotation.
I could write a long review about how good this place is. Or, I could sum it up with one word- Excellent. If you're wondering if you should eat here, yes. If you're hesitating, don't. My new favorite restaurant in town
Kae is so wonderful! Food and service is the most authentic thai food in Santa Cruz County. Highly recommend to anyone searching for authentic thai experience.
The food was perfect! Veggies were cooked perfectly, flavor balance was on point, service was friendly and super fast. I have lived here for too long not know ming how good this place is! So far this is the best thai I have had in town. Better than most restaurants in town especially at this price point. I’m going to be a new regular!
Don't get confused: The low reviews are from previous restaurant at the same spot. The restaurant opened on end of September 2025, but it will show reviews and low ratings from many months ago from previous Chinese restaurant. Interior is nice. Has a nice mural by a local artist giving coastal vibes. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was good. The Tom Kha soup was particularly on the perfect spot -not overpowered by anything, but a good balanced blend. In noodle item, the frying was good and spice level maintained properly. (This places has spicy and Thai spicy, so more steps. In rice item, we liked the new occasionally 'singed' rices. Highly recommend to give this new place a try. One suggestion to cook: the beef has to be in either: 'highly heated on the surface quickly' to keep the moisture in, or 'cooked to a point where the fibers get loosened'. Between these two points, there is a stage where cooked beef just gets harder. Let's avoid that middle stage.
We really like the tom yum soup. It comes with a good presentation with burning fire and soup is really delicious. We ordered extra noodle to go with it. Good job!
Authentic Thai flavors, well prepared. I got L4 stir fry cashew with chicken. I mentioned it was a little salty and they insisted on remaking it. Absolutely delicious.
Food heaven! Great spot in Capitola & friendly staff. Everything we had was delicious. We’ll be back.

The crispy pork was EXCELLENT!!! Best ever. (And I’ve been to Thailand several times). I highly recommend a visit
Good food good location good service. Thank you l will go back again.
Wow. Incredible Thai food! Everything we ordered was incredible! The coconut prawns, chicken satay and crab Rangoon were amazing for our appetizers. We got the cashew crispy pork and chicken pineapple fried rice for entrees and my kids loved the pineapple fried rice. Also got the fried bananas with coconut ice cream and it was so so good! Everything lasted from when my husband pick up the order and brought it home(15 min) in the take out boxes! Highly recommend
We picked up our food to go. The vibe when you walk in is so zen-like. Our food was hot and ready. We got the Thai chow main and pineapple fried rice. Absolutely delicious. We had leftovers so I went back and got chicken satay the next day. Again, 5 stars. So so good. We highly recommend Coconut Thai 😊
I absolutely love this Thai restaurant and it’s one of my favorite spots to eat. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right mix of sweet, savory, and spicy. Every dish tastes authentic and thoughtfully prepared, and the portions are generous for the price. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal with friends or family. I’ve been here multiple times and it never disappoints — definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to.
The food was great and the staff was incredibly friendly! I went with my parents for lunch and everyone was so welcoming and happy to be there. We saw one of the ladies behind the counter cutting some carrots in a fancy way and my dad asked us what we thought she was doing. She overheard and excitedly showed us that she was cutting them to look like hearts for Valentines day coming up. She also showed us how she found a way to cut them to look like flowers and they were beautiful. She said she likes to make them decorated for special occasions. The level of care and attention to detail does not go unnoticed. She may have just been doing it for fun but it makes a huge difference to see the level of craft and art that the staff puts into the meals. I should have taken a picture but I'll definitely be back again!
i have eaten food before. i have enjoyed food before. but nothing and i mean nothing prepared me for the spiritual awakening that awaited me at this thai sanctuary of flavor. from the first bite of the crab rangoons, i knew my life had been split into two distinct eras, before this meal and after this meal. these were not just appetizers. these were golden, blistered envelopes of joy, shatteringly crisp on the outside and filled with a creamy, savory filling that made me briefly forget my own name. i would trust these rangoons with my secrets. and then the delicious green curry. i do not know who is back there orchestrating that symphony of coconut milk, heat, and herbaceous magic, but i assume they trained in the mountains under a culinary monk who only speaks in lemongrass. it was rich without being heavy, spicy without being cruel. each bite felt like being wrapped in a silk robe while someone whispered you deserve this. tears streamed down my face, real saltwater tears. i was moved. i was seen. and the pad thai, perfectly balanced and savory, just sweet enough to make you believe in romance again. the noodles glistened like they had something to prove. some might compare a meal like this to a cigarette after sex, satisfying, grounding, slightly overwhelming, and leaving you staring at the ceiling wondering what just happened and how soon you can experience it again. five stars is not enough. i want to write this place a thank you letter. i want to name a child after this green curry. i want my last meal on earth to taste exactly like this. go. eat there. bring tissues.
Great local Thai restaurant! Flavors on point, better quality ingredients than usually found at your local. Everything was fresh, bright, and exactly what you'd want for a casual delicious meal. Service was also excellent, very warm and welcoming and food came out quickly.
Ordered the branzino, tom yum and pumpkin curry. They were divine! Best mango sticky rice I’ve ever had! Thank you Nooni for sharing your childhood love for the extra coconut milk with the dessert!
Beautiful Presentation, tofu nice and crispy and flavorful with crispy green beans, nicely chopped, and tender carrots. Crab Ragoon has a unique turmeric or spice added ( unique). The Thai Ice Tea is the best in town. And, its served in a fancy cocktail glass. Really yummy lunch spot so cant wait to try dinner:) My only suggestion would be better lighting in main room as it feels a bit darker!
This place is great!! Lots of vegetarian options and everything was very flavorful and well cooked. Tofu was fried very well and I loved the yellow curry! Happy for Santa Cruz to have another great Thai place.
The food is amazing! The calamari had a perfect crunch and my curry was loaded with veggies. I highly recommend the iced tea. We will absolutely be coming here again and again
Our entire Thai group visited Capitola for a weekend away to visit family. My family had heard of this new Thai restaurant, so we called to make a reservation. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I ordered the spicy Lao papaya salad, which was delicious, I can confirm. The chicken satay, roti, and coconut ice cream were all delicious. My son loved it! My brother and sister-in-law also loved the Thai food here and highly recommended it. If I go back there again, I will definitely try The best thai food Capitola
Absolutely loved this place from the 1st visit. Very tasty and authentic Thai dishes that were surprisingly unique and very flavorful. My friend loved it so much he went there with his wife the next day. I have been back as well. Planning on trying the whole menu.
This was a surprising delightful stop for a quick lunch. The crab Rangoon and the Thai iced tea were particularly scrumptious and the hostess was kind and helpful. Definitely would love to come back! I will remember this place the next time I am in the area :)
Beautiful space with excellent service. The noodle soup bowls are fantastic with flavor dense broths that are usually impossible to find in Santa Cruz. Even the fried egg roll was perfectly cooked (no bad oil residue or frozen egg roll flavor like most restaurants). I dont usually return to most restaurants in Santa Cruz but this place is 👌

Service was friendly and speedy. Coconut soup was delicious as was the Pad Thai noodles but could have been a bit more spicy.
We’ve eaten here twice and overall it was pretty good! We’ve tried the yellow curry, fresh ginger stir fry, pad thai, fresh spring rolls and tom kha. Our favorite was the fresh ginger stir fry with tofu and the yellow curry! We did specifically request the Pad Thai vegan (there is an option to check a box when you online order) and it came with egg in it which was disappointing, so maybe that’s something to keep in mind if you have allergens/a specific diet. Maybe we’ll try again in the future!
They make pad thai the way it's meant to be!! Their spring rolls are also delicious! That said, they just opened and had new staff, who might need a little more practice at waiting tables. Otherwise, go soon. They have what your heart desires in Thai food. The lemonade they serve, in wine glasses, over ice, goes nicely with the Eastern flavors. Mmm, mmm, mmm.
I like the food, very tasty. The waitress does not smile and not friendly. I will come back I love the food
I really wanted to like this place but the two times I tried it, it was disappointing. The food was pretty good, although not huge portion sizes. We got takeout twice and both times they forgot something in our order. Disappointing as their prices are high. I understand forgetting once, but twice is just sloppy service.
We didn't realize that they close at 9, even on a Saturday night. First mistake on us. The restaurant was almost empty with one side closed off -another red flag that we should've walked off when we walked in at 7:50 pm. It was freezing in there after we sat down and took my jacket off and asked if there's heat. I was told the heat was not working and a small portable heater was helping the desk, not the patrons. I silently put my jacket on, persisting there, thinking about food. Menu was not extraordinary but the teas were great. Ordered starters, soup and entres. Didn't notice the lack of any happiness on the waitress face - another red flag. Spring rolls came and were descent. No soup yet. Entres started to come. Soup came a bit later. It was a lemongrass bomb with sticks of lemongrass. We still persisted. Waitress started turning lights off st the other side. We got the hint, ate quick and got the heck out of there, just before nine and looked at the times. They close at 9. Came back blaming ourselves for going to a restaurant late on a rainy night for dinner.
